I call it a universal miscegenation in the positive sense of the term.
You told me some time ago that the precept, “Love your neighbour as thyself” had to change, given the dark times that we are going through, and become “more than thyself.” So you yearn for a society where equality dominates. This, as you know, is the programme of Marxist socialism and then of communism. Are you therefore thinking of a Marxist type of society?
It would have always been that way if it were not for "religion is the opiate of the masses"

What about things like liberation theology in case of Christianity? It does not act like an opiate.

Now we just need the cathechesis to change to condemn capitalism

DOPE POPE

No, Pope Francis is just a Jesuit liberation theologian. That shit always breaks down into idealist idpol liberalism. Liberation theologians are weird, because they use all the terms that we use except that they use them to mean different things.

Jesus was a communist, yea.

Well, if you look at the parable of the bags of gold, you find that inequality is not frowned upon.
What's frowned upon is not doing the best with whatever you've been given.
Kevin Russell
We liberation theology nao.
Seriously we need to make use of this, liberation theology could easily make major inroads in America, and there's plenty of anti-capitalist bible verses to back it up.

put in this quote
"It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed hungry person. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not on paper."

Buddhism has socialist tendencies. Hinduism has anti-socialist tendencies, its litterally classcuck - the religion.
Andrew Carter
Marx said that in a very particular context of his time and place. Generally religion is the opposite of opiate, as history shows well enough. Of course, only if you're willing to drop the new atheist retardation.

It doesn't really change much for the right in the United States, which is protestant and believes works do not matter. Only through faith are they saved so the poor can get fucked.

The Fiddler saws the strings, His light brown hair he tosses and flings. He carries a sabre at his side, He wears a pleated habit wide. "Fiddler, why that frantic sound? Why do you gaze so wildly round? Why leaps your blood, like the surging sea? What drives your bow so desperately?" "Why do I fiddle? Or the wild waves roar? That they might pound the rocky shore, That eye be blinded, that bosom swell, That Soul's cry carry down to Hell." "Fiddler, with scorn you rend your heart. A radiant God lent you your art, To dazzle with waves of melody, To soar to the star-dance in the sky." "How so! I plunge, plunge wihout fail My blood-black sabre into your soul. That art God neither wants nor wists, It leaps to the brain from Hell's black mists. "Till heart's bewitched, till senses reel: With Satan I have struck my deal. He chalks the signs, beats time for me, I play the death march fast and free. "I must play dark, I must play light, Till bowstrings break my heart outright." The Fiddler saws the strings, His light brown hair he tosses and flings. He carries a sabre at his side, He wears a pleated habit wide.

Even Islam has socialist tendencies. Inheritance laws discourage the formation of large business enterprises and the accumulation of capital.
Jaxson Collins
Don't forget the prohibition on usury, which they actually managed to hold on to for quite a while unlike revisionist Protestants and Catholics who decided that interest is 100% ok and Jesus probably would have allowed it (despite the fact that the ancient Semites who came up with that shit had good reason and first-hand experience of why charging interest is really fucking bad for society.)
Logan Murphy
wtf i love jesus now

Looking at the entirety of Islam, those practices are to give the caliph absolute power and aren't socialist at all.

I particularly enjoy some of the buddhist socialist writings.
Buddhadasa: Look at the birds: we will see that they eat only as much food as their stomachs can hold. They cannot take more than that; they don’t have granaries. Look down at the ants and insects: that is all they can do. Look at the trees: trees imbibe only as much nourishment and water as the trunk can hold, and cannot take in any more than that. Therefore a system in which people cannot encroach on each other’s rights or plunder their possessions is in accordance with nature and occurs naturally, and that is how it has become a society continued to be one, until trees became abundant, animals became abundant, and eventually human beings became abundant in the world. The freedom to hoard was tightly controlled by nature in the form of natural socialism.

Why does popeman hate the black panthers? I thought they mostly just helped out the black community and scared white people a bit. I suppose I dunno much about them are they just militant black nationalists or is popeman wrong in his assessment?
Honestly I don't know just how many inroads this will create in America. Protestants literally think Francis is the anti-Christ, and even a great deal of so-called Catholics in the US very much dislike him.
Oliver Bennett
should be posadism tbh.
Also most christian leftists tend to be anarchists from my experience.

It's funny how you can both believe somebody has divine infallibility and disagree with his politics. It's almost as if religion has a different function than it claims. Like it's part some kind of superstructure or something.

Is it possible to believe in God as a Marxist? are the two really as opposed as people make them out to be? Help rebel I'm newfag as fuck and I just wanna be commie for Jesus.
Christopher Robinson
Marxism means materialism, so not really. But communism and marxism are of course not the same. A non-materialistic form of communism is fine.
Nathan Sanchez
that's a shame. I really like leftcom stuff that I've read but I became a lefty for religious reasons so I'm not sure I wanna abandon that.
Leftcoms are cool but again, materialism. Plus, leftcoms have their own big issues.

Aristotle's "Nicomachean ethics"
Macintyre has a new book out that I haven't read but he used to have "marxism and christianity" before he realised that marxists have terrible ethics and are materialists.
It may still be worth reading for a rad-left christian, however.
I recommend "After Virtue" by Macintyre ultimately though, because he demolishes every other meta-ethical system other than virtue ethics in it, and then shows how Thomistic-aristotleanism is the best way to go through with it.
3. anything on distributism, which is the ideology of Chesterton is referencing. It's more like social democracy/market socialism so is less radical though, and has its economic problems but srs tho 3 acres and a cow
