Which animal crossing is the best? do any of the games hold up?

the first one looks like the best one seeing as its got some extra NES games hidden in them but I really wouldn't know.

I always liked how much love was put into animal crossing, so much little things, like villagers noticing that you're not wearing shoes when it's snowing or raining which appeases my fetish or dropping by to visit randomly. If it weren't for the fact that I am the only one with the mental capacity to pick weeds it'd feel like an actual town.

The GC version is pretty fun to play, especially with it's great soundtrack.

Eh, the DS version Wild World isn't worth playing now. It came out in the DS' life cycle, and though it's certainly impressive for it's time there's not a lot of content to it. The Wii, GC, and 3DS title New Leaf are very similar to each other outside of differences, so go with whichever one is most available to you.

But if anyone cares to get into this series, it goes without saying that the game is odd in the sense that it's not a traditional game. It's just something you play daily up to an hour or so.

New Leaf is probably the best all around, but the GC one really has its own atmosphere and some things the future titles lacked (mainly free NES games).

Almost every game is pretty much the same excluding some graphical upgrades and a few changes. We're due for a new one, so I'd wait until that one comes out.

AC is kind of like a life sim. The DS version is alright and the one I am most familiar with, but new leaf added new things to do in the game.

I havent touched or heard of animal crossing since the ds game. Is it worth to emulate any other game? Do they improve, because I remember after one week it was all the same chores, same dialogues, etc

The Gamecube and 3DS versions are usually ranked the best for different reasons. It all depends on what you want to play for. The DS and Wii are just slightly worse versions of the game before it, so they're not worth playing unless you've already invested time in a previous save.
