Plat's developing an action-rpg based on the popular mobile rpg. I wanna hold hands with the whip girl and knight girl.
Platinum developing Granblue game
...
I'm scared about that part
As someone who plays Granblue on a daily basis, this is pretty neat news.
Character models look a little iffy, don't think Granblue's art style translates well into 3D. But Katalina's close-up when she started doing her Ougi was decent.
Shame that it'll probably remain in Japan.
Yay! I'm not alone!
Well all of Plat's games were localized, and even the amerifart games like TF and TMNT got jap releases, not to mention the game already has english language setting, AND if it's on PC then there's no issues with buying/pirating anyway
A fucking ton of my Japanese friends play Granblue Fantasy. I think it has nice art, but other than that I don't know anything about it.
After some of the more recent Platinum titles I'm feeling a bit burned. They feel like a one-trick pony. I hope this is a good opportunity to stretch out with this project
hopefully it comes out on PS4 so it's not a problem. Hopefully it has split screen too.
It's turn based rpg with many popular collaborations like Street Fighter. I played it when it was first announced and wasn't that popular but didn't continue because there was big loading times so I left the game. I am amazed how this shitty game become so popular.
did you play on actual phone? Now there are ways around the lag
When it comes to platinum you have to understand something
There's THREE TEAMS:
-Team one is with Kamiya, they make new IPs once every blue moon and they're usually flawed games with a lot of good ideas but also a lot of bad ideas (kamiya obsession with QTEs and gimmicks), this team doesn't do sequels.
-Team two is with Atsushi Inaba, the unsung hero of PG.
Less people know about him than Kamiya, but he actually makes better overall games, Vanquish, MGR, Anarchy Reigns, Bayo 2, Nier: Automata, this team handles sequels of IPs from team 1 too.
-Team three is the team that rushes out licensed shit, with mixed results, often pretty bad.
Korra, Transformers (this one was actually good), TMT, etc.
This game will possibly be handled by team three so you've been warned.
this would mean all 3 teams are working on something, then. With scalebound, Nier Automata, and this in development. I'm not missing something, am I?
