I would argue 2001 when PHPBB came out. 1993 was really bad but it died down eventually and became slightly less shitty. When PHPBB caused the forum scene to explode everything went tits up. Things never recovered once nigger technology became universal.

Ancient fag, here, the Internet first got fucked when home Internet got cheap and easy (AOL, etc). Since then, every big advance in communication technology has made that cock raping it get bigger. Cheap PCs, Internet on your telephone, and the social media boom have ruined it irreparably. At least PHPBB was limited to whatever site it was installed on. These days, every single website is linked to Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit, making those three sites the hubs of retardation.

When the iPhone was released, and when Facebook was opened to the public, both around 2007, it really shit the bed. The format is ruined. About a decade ago, I laughed at how quaint having to dial a BBS was, and how much of a hassle it could be. I never thought I'd be begging for those days to come back, before fucking normies ruined the greatest invention ever.

All their surface appeal is directly copied from Holla Forums, they shamelessly stole their best memes but use them 100% satirically instead of the 50% satire 50% seriousness that made Holla Forums great.
