The caste system back before the Brits took over helped keep everything in line and in order. Hinduism originally never had the caste system. It was the ruling class who snuck it in so they could make sure they stayed in control and keep order.
Also New Jersey here, there are Indians everywhere in my state. Most of them are the new arrivals to so they hardly speak English
