Shit game. You told me it was good, Holla Forums!

it's best medieval loli simulator idiot

I bought Dragon's Dogma for PS3, not Dark Arisen, and boy howdy is it hard to play. I've already beat Dark Arisen on PC, and how is the frame rate for Dark Arisen on console?
Though, no matter what I play it on, it's always fun.

Not everyone takes your shit taste into consideration, user.

So how many blast arrows do you use per playthrough?

Not very good game, seems more like a status symbol than something to enjoy.

i don't understand your reasoning

the game will probably work fine as long as you don't pick magic class

None. Shot my first blast arrow at level 200, after I finished both the original game and Bitterblack isle two times.

"Cheesing scrub" is a mindset and blaming the game for giving you ways to cheese it is just pitiful.

0 because a real man always fight with a big sword.

Interesting, so if you intentionally gimp yourself then the game is good. Oh, wait, you don't even need blast arrows, though, because just about every class in this game is laughably overpowered. This game really is just an ego simulator. Pure shit.

Oh yeah, I forgot that you're only allowed to play a game one way. I mean, all those other fun classes and vocations are just padding.

WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS

Then why did you give the spotlight to blast arrows as if they were anything special?

Do you have brain damage?

Dragon's Dogstyle: Dank Arse

I can't believe I have to wait half a year for a lower price.

That statement says more about your own warp sensibilities than it does anything about the game

For 'Flying into Free' and to experience it with the superior cinematic framrate silly.

Spotted the munchkin.

None until I've been through BBI at least once. There's really no reason to use them unless you want to cheese Daimon/Death.
Assassin's already broken without blast arrows.

Because blast arrows are the most overpowered thing in the game; combine them with something that's already broken and the problem just compounds itself. I honestly can't see how any can enjoy playing this shit (actually I can, it's made by japs). Bethesda could have released this game.

And you obviously didn't read the user who first replied to you.

Nice bait, but you're pretty bad at this.

PC has both. There are mods that restore the music and the game has an in game option to gimp the framerate to 30.

...

Because I'm a retard who's paranoid about shit like Steam going under and then losing all my games.

You never said the game was easy. You said it was shit. I'm starting to think you were just bad at it and trying to overcompensate by shitposting.

This game lets you take the best screenshots

Nice Punished Arisen

Then why didn't you pirate a PC version?

If you had read the posts at all you would know I consider piss-easy broken shit to be bad (which it is), but, no, please explain to me how Dragon's Dogma being full of broken shit is good, especially since I'm pretty sure you would consider Skyrim to (rightfully) be bad for the exact same reasons.

If it looks good it performs good.

Never even crossed my mind.
I used to pirate all my shit, now not so much.

I would have advised pirating instead. The PC version fixes some things like the 30 FPS cap.

Post pawn list

also wate my pawaifu, been a while since I last played though any good mods yet?

You promise that Mystic Knight gets good eventually, right? I leveled Sorcerer until Lv. 80 and then switched to MK, and now I'm grinding my way back up through the Vocation Ranks. I just want something that can damage Death besides focused holy bolt and grand ingle.

I'm having trouble thinking up an RPG that doesn't give you the option to break it.

Help me out here.

probably one of the best vocations to solo BBI with tbh. Only yellows really have an easy time with Death. I think his magick armor is pretty high.

My biggest issue with this game is gold can carry you all the way through. Buy as much curatives as you like. Who cares about debilitations? You've got a stack of x999 Sobering Wine in your stash. Buy as much blast arrows. As much demon's/conqueror's/veteran's periapts as you like. And then when you purify a level 2/3 weapon, sell it for millions and buy even more.

What is there to do after BBI? This game has fuckall for content

Stop taking the bait

A solid hour of work only took off one health bar, so yeah it's pretty high

Mystic knight becomes a beast once you unlock magic cannon and the riposte version of the shield skills, just use two or three demon's periapt and watch one perfect block take one entire health bar, it's pretty fucking great

Why did you make Andre the Giant?

Someone explain how to use a cheat engine. I read somewhere that the Berserk armor are still dormant inside the game's code and can be accessed by using cheat engine to place them directly into your inventory.

Is the armor really there? since I also dont know how to use chat engine for shit I use nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/96/? to get the armor that I like and stuff (I dont really know how to mess with the stats)

Check this out

Item List: pastey.org/view/1ad51ad0
If you search the item names, they're in the list. You're looking for
Thousandlimbs (Gut's sword)
Swordman's set (Gut's armor)
White Hawk set (Griffith's armor)
White Hawk Talon (Griffith's sword)

Apparently these items are only in the review copy, so for those anons who downloaded all that dolphin porn, and who know how to use a cheat engine, maybe you can find these items? Who knows about retail version. You could give it a try.

I like being able to infuse my own weapons, but more often than not I end up not having the right infusions equipped. Magic Cannon is really that good? I just purchased Great Cannon but I didn't think the previous version was doing that much damage

It has bad, counter-intuitive combat, that throws the whole action games evolution up to this point into the window.
It's like anti-god hand. That game is also counter-intuitive and unconventional, but if you mastered it, game became fun and actually made you feel like a god.
Mastering combat in DD will make you to spend slightly less time stabbing monsters in their weak spots.
It's not real open world, but a bunch of closed inter-connected maps, not unlike Diablo 2, but with a tiny bit of verticality to them.
Selling point of course is character creation and the ability to romance people, including your custom made fap doll.
Roleplaying is non-existant, all your dialogue options are
-Accept quest
-Don't accept quest
-Give shit
And by giving enough shit you suddenly romanced a character.
Fallout 4 has more role-playing in it than this.

It's really-really mediocre and hugely overrated by degenerates fapping to whatever abomination they manage to come up with in character creator.

You can stack great cannons next to each other and they'll all proc off the same melee attacks. It's hilarious.

The last point doesn't really apply to me and I still enjoyed the game despite all its flaws.

After I hit max level with my nukers (archer and sorcerer), I went Mystic Knight and unawarely stepped into a nightmarish quest where you're forced to fight 2 living armors in a small catacomb.

All my spells were ridiculously low level, so I supposed my only chance against them was to go in melee. Borderline no damage.

In the end, almost by chance I left around enough magic circles and cannons that one of the armors could trigger the lot of them at a single time. The resulting storm of magic bolts slowed the framerate to a crawl and raped one of the armors, down to its phase two.

I was in awe at the power.

I can't stop playing this game
I fucking love it

See you in DD Online when you're done.

EU/US never

Funny joke user, well memed indeed

...

I didn't age my character because he isn't Solid Snake. However, I did gradually add facial hair to him over the course of the game.

...

Me and a buddy played DDO through VPN. It's exactly like the usual game except coop and it was awesome. Except for the fact that they had to fuck everything up. Monsters enter a retarded "enraged" state constantly that make them impossible to kill. Only way to get them out of the rage state is to climb them and spam buttons to make them stagger. A regular cyclops can take ages to kill unless you have epic p2w gear. So fuck it.

MA > MK

you fucked up mate

Can't deus vult with a twig and a string

I only play unarmed or with swords and i hate pawns becausw they make the game too easy. So it's either solo-ing my way thru the game or with a healing pawn. Also i only play on hard and Bitterblack isle first.

...

never

Normal game: get fire and lighting riposte with fire weapo enchant and you will cruise
Post Dragon: get holy riposte and weapon enchant with whatever other magic shield enchant you want
Great cannon + ruinous sigil = DD: bullet hell edition

Also that feel when you perfect block a ballista shot

I think I have the dolphin porn version lying around somewhere maybe I'll try to check it

Yes, dump the raw files and we can try to make a mod out of it so that everyone can get the berserk armors and shit.

Does the review copy also have dual audio options? Because right now, mods let you overwrite the language to Japanese, instead of being able to switch between like in the console version.

Afraid I'm gonna fail you there user, apparently I had to delete that version to release disk space, I may have it in my laptop but I wont have access to that until next week
And from I what remember the review copy didn't have the dual audio, I may be remembering this wrong

I have the dolphin porn version, however I have no idea how to work this cheat engine. If I manage to get it, I'll get back to you.

All I need are the arc files, to make a mod with. Thing is, I don't know which ones I need, so I might need a full dump.

An user once posted this

...

sure okay!

BBI is the worst, the WORST! expansion pack to grace gaming this century completely shitting on what made the original game instead relying on edgy "ebin hardcore dark souls amirite guise x)" bullshit.
Also your pawnfu a shit, SHIT!

And these are mine

It isn't quite the same as using High Fulmination to deep-fry great ogres at one health bar per second, but I can dig it

Every thread with you

Why sacrifice equipment load and stamina for your lolicon fixation?

I was third from the left on the shortness ticks mate
Also that was a solo sorc, wearing armor is for sissies

Retard

Well, the items will show up but I have no clue how to access them. I have no clue.

I'm surprised it even has a name and a description. This is in the review copy?

I assume so. This is the copy that everyone here torrented a week before initial release. I'm pretty sure that was a review copy, right?

Yea, I assume so, but here we got it directly from a tester.

Whats a ps3/xbox ISO look like? Is it encrypted, or can I Just rip the .arc files?

I bet you also pick armor based on stats and not on fashion.

Souls general is down the hall and to the left

He was a tester, but he leaked the release version.

So for those of you who want to give this cheat engine a try, go to the link I posted
and download the .CT file from the OP. You can download the Cheat Engine here cheatengine.org/downloads.php there is an installer and a standalone zip archive.

When you download the cheat engine, right click on the DDDA.CT that you downloaded from that thread and click, "open with" and just associate the file extension with the cheat engine.exe The cheat engine should run and you'll see a single script called "Enable .2 [F12]." You click the activate box to the left of this and a directory with a shit ton of other options will pop up. From there, you choose which script you want to run. Each one offers various things, shit like infinite stamina, infinite health, and so on. You want to find the one called "Highlighted Item [F12]". When you activate this, yet even more options will show up.

Next, run the game. When you're in game, Alt+tab out, go to the cheat engine, and click the icon in the upper left hand corner of the GUI whose tool tip says, "Select a process to begin". Then this will open up a dialog box from where you can choose from a list of programs running on your PC. Choose the game, it should be called DDDA.exe. Play the game normally, then get to a point where you can go into your inventory. Select an item, any item, it doesn't matter. Preferably choose something that is easily obtainable and of low value. Highlight it, and you'll see in the cheat engine that the ID value will change to reflect the item you've highlighted in the game.

Go here: pastey.org/view/1ad51ad0
This is the master item ID list. Choose an item you want to change your existing, highlighted item into. Say, for example you have an airtight flask and you want to change it into a Godsbane. You look at the list and find the value for Godsbane (the value is 203) and then you subtract it by ONE. From here, you take this new number (Godsbane would be 202) and convert it into a hexadecimal number (Godsbane is CA). There are a number of resources online like calculators that make this an easy enough process. When you get your hexadecimal number, you change add as many zeroes as you need to in order to make it a 4 digit number (so, for instance, Godsbane would be 00CA). Double click the ID Value segment to open a dialog box. The dialog box should contain the hexadecimal address of the item you've selected and its name. Delete this and simply replace it with the hexadecimal address for the new item.

From here, you go back into the game and deselect the item, and it should automatically change into the new item you've chosen. The reason I say all of this is maybe one of you can manage to get these items working.

If that wasn't clear enough for you, allow me to reiterate:
Cheat Engine: cheatengine.org/downloads.php
DDDA.CT: forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=586957&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
THERE ARE MULTIPLE .CT FILES IN THE THREAD. CHOOSE THE ONE IN THE OP
1. Download cheat engine and DDDA.CT from the OP
2. Run DDDA.CT using cheat engine
3. Run your game
4. Click the "select a process to open" icon in the top left hand corner of the GUI
5. Select your game
6. In game, go into your inventory and highlight any item
7. Go to cheat engine, find the "Highlighted Item" script by first activating the "Enable .2 {F12]" script
8, Go to "ID Value" and double click
9. Find the hexadecimal value of the item you want to replace your highlighted item with
10. Place the hexadecimal value of the new item into the ID Value dialog box and replace it with whatever is currently there.
11. Go back into the game and deselect the highlighted item

If you're picking armor based on stats in this game, you have no idea what you're doing.
You can make any armor viable in the endgame.
It's purely about fashion, baby.

Fuck off you autistic beaner.

It's an RPG, baby.

Ya know, that feels kinda wrong to describe DD:DA
It feels more like an action game at times, considering the whole roleplaying aspects are kinda nill, hell it feels like back when I was a kid and had to imagine my RPG party doing stuff like buying items at shops, considering you interact so little with the world of Gransys

Maybe I'm foolish, but I can't really call DD:DA an RPG, considering it's so lacking in that department

It has a lot of unnecessary statistical abstraction and vertical progression attached to it to call it purely an "action game"

Yeah I know that too
What the fuck is a dragon's dogma?

role playing game.
^
the function assumed or part played by a person or thing in a particular situation.

not that user but the game does seem pretty short on that element compared to other jrpg's. Although I can't make heads or tails of what we should call a game built on statistics rather than characters in the context of rpgs.
maybe "roll play"?

A mediocre game

Going off the definition of a role-playing game as a game in which you play a role really expands the genre even beyond DDDA. I mean you create your own self-insert character or any character you'd like and play as that role.

Switch IDs before you bait

I don't put that kind of effort into shitposting.

Shit nigger what're you doing

Holy shit play something else.

This was an excellent game, by far the best one of the year so far. I absolutely recommend a pirate, it's worth it.

Back to /a/ or Holla Forums with your shit crops. You aren't wanted here.

...

I do BBI in fancy bikinis all the time, dodgerolling to victory. But then again i'm not a low energy warriorfag.

No, but you are a fag

Reminder that if you go online your waifu will get exposed

You can go online and set your pawn to be used only by your friends or exclusively by yourself.

So no KareKano for you.

Good luck figuring which pawn is mine faggot

Who the hell was responsible for this nude mod

Does anyone still have the link to the pawn sheet? If so, please whoever makes the next general put it in the OP.

Dude if a game doesn't use denuvo then there's pretty much guaranteed to be a crack that bypasses Steam. Being paranoid is ok, being retarded is not.

into free intro replacer mod for PC:
mega.nz/#!ThVyiJBL!Uy2cpiMpl5l60Y6cpFEd0GmPr3r9Kp3T_VUvoZSEyRA

Characters with smaller weight classes regenerate stamina faster and climb faster though.

If I remember correctly, the "nude" models are already in the game, but inaccessable. The mod just removes the underclothes and adds the naughty bits.

...

You can get a pretty absurd hips to waist ratio

Pics 1/2 are the thickest you can go without going full shortstacks or having a fat stomach. I would know because she is my pawn.

Yeah, no. Climb the enraged monster and drain his stamina, either manually or by damaging the glowing spots.

Since Season 2, the process is actually easier and hitting the enraged monster hard enough might break him altogether.

All these faggots playing the old game like it's some sekrit club only they know, when the sequel is actually free and being expanded RIGHT NOW.

Come join us on server 13, you'll find an english speaking guild pretty easily.

I'll play it when I don't have to run it through a damn VPN. I've put at least 400 hours into this game since the PC launch in January so I do really want to play it but it's the principle of the whole thing that prevents me.

There are too many wild riftsluts for one man to molest, but none of the waifus on the 8/v/ pawn list are safe.

DDO was shit when it released, according to some anons it's okay now, I refuse to play it since I haven't really exhausted my fun with DDDA it's no a "sekrit club" faggotry is just that right now it's too much of a pain the ass for so little return, also have fun playing with reddit fag :^)

Rumor has it that capcom trademarked DDO in the west but nothing has come out of it so far

It's better if you want something that in no way plays like DDA and instead plays like a generic action MMO.

I'm just unhappy for as long as DDO is alive, DD2 becomes less likely.

As long as DDO stays trapped in japan, the likelihood of it just being a strange in-between preceding an earnest DD2 effort grows and with it, my fragile hope.

Yeah I played with Daimon Dogs when it released and it was just worst in every fucking sense, shit pawn AI, shit enemy variety, fucking gutted the classes, it was just a step back in eery sense

I honestly just don't have hope anymore It's better that way user, in the ever remote possibility that we ever get a sequel I'll pretty damn happy then I'll just assume the sequel is going to be shit so I dont get burned

The pawn AI was hilarious, set them to the TANK class and watch them… walk in circles blocking. Set them to RANGED PHYSICAL DPS and watch them… shoot arrows into the ground. Set them to GENERIC HEALER and watch them… try to grapple the monster to death.

Yeah pawn AI was one of the worst offenders, I remember my healer being completely useless, and sometimes deciding to cast right in front of the enraged mob, jesus what a shit show

what's up with that autist posting all the rift sluts with the nude mod? he's expecting a reaction or something?

I think so, I've definitely seen two of those pawns on the sheet so he knows they were made by people from here.

Just that one line tells us that you didn't even play the game.

I used none. It's something special when you and your lolipawn can climb on monsters and fuck them up together. Casting with your pawn is like having simultaneous orgasms

wat

Well one guy tried it but he didn't fly so good

When you get the endgame gear MK becomes quite the powerhouse

Also with that rank 9 augment and dragonforged BBI armor you are pretty much unkillable below 30% health. Daimon part 2 did about 40 damage to me on melee attacks when I was wearing the hellfire armor (not even silver/gold dragonforged).

So I just got this game and I'd love to go around in some badass armor and capes and use a sword and shield. Is this a viable option? Heard rangers were fuckin baller.

I never understood the point of spending most of the game doing weird class changing shit to optimize your character. The enemies don't get strong enough that you'd need a maxed out character.

Yes

Pick a fighter and you absolutely can. Rangers are fun too but I wouldn't say one is notably more fun than the other. And yes there are plenty of capes to choose from, some of them even go down to the bottom of your boots.

Out of all the classes just don't pick a mage, if you want to be a wizard just get to the main city and switch your vocation to Sorcerer. Sorcerer has all the mage spells plus some absolutely crazy ones like webm related.

Well, it's probably because between BBI proper and the normal game there's a significant step up in difficulty, which can be hard to overcome if you only used a vocation with shit scaling

Autism, if it is possible for my numbers to be more efficient then more efficient they shall be.

I'm currently in the process of killing only low XP enemies and no quests on my restarted character so that the pawn ranks up her vocation to 9 while staying as low level as possible since she will barely benefit from levels and will be more valuable to people and my alts as a low level pawn since they'll get an XP boost because of her level. Currently at rank 9 mage and rank 3 sorcerer, just need to get to 9 Sorcerer for that sweet cast time reduction augment. She'll likely be about level 22 once I'm done (this is with two rings of perserverance that I got by running past all the enemies for one moon gem and the other I got by grinding RC for the pawn on an alt and gifting lvl 3 BBI gear until I got a second one.

>POST YFW INTO FREE IS BACK ON YOUTUBE

Normally I'd say

But I've tried to link the song to friends before and uploading the mp3 to mixtape.moe every time gets old, so this is good. It sucks for Crapcom that they took it down right around the PC release because this song is free marketing for the game, when someone asks me what DD is like I just send them the song and tell them that it's this song: the game.

Will you expose Husbandos too?

Good thing I didn't put mine on the new one, because by that point everyone stopped playing it anyway.

If you upload it somewhere I will reward you with something. I can drawfag, make a set of pawn sliders, or post my favorite pics I have saved.

Reminder that saurians are peaceable and you lot are monsters what murder the one good race in the game.

Yeah this game was the opposite of fun

gitgud

It is really heavily overrated. But so is Dark Souls, to be fair. I say "mostly OK/possibly verging on good".

Fuck was Holla Forums ever over-rating it, like you said its average at best, boring at worst

Same shit happened to PSO2 and nothing for years after that.

Casual confirmed, I never ran into a single monster that was imbalanced as this and outside of the final boss fight or Daimon I don't think I was in any boss fight that lasted more than 15 minutes at most.

Also you probably fucked up your pawn's inclinations, if you want them to enchant a lot they should primarily be utilitarian.

Did you just not fight the first gorecyclops?

I did. It took me a couple hours of finding the exact place behind its left foot to not get hit and using 13 of those revival stones

I heard someone was making an enemy spawn mod of some sort. How is it working?

There was a seriously absurd hype train. Especially considering the game came out ages ago.
Honestly, it was absolutely insane.

Checked.

I didn't think you were intended to actually fight or kill the first Gorecyclops (or Death for that matter) until you had beaten BBI at least once and got some super good weapons.

No, you just suck dick.

No, you just suck dick. I played this shit on hard and beat a drake at 30~. Didn't last longer than a few minutes. I did the same thing on normal the first time I played the game. Took quite of few tries, but I did it.

You should just stick to games like ffxix or bethesda games.

Are you talking about the condemned version in BBI or do you just mean the first cyclops you encounter on the river?

Because the condemned one is only slight bullshit if you're melee but by the time I got to BBI I had a pawn that climbed on him and tore off the helmet. The one on the river you can stagger him by hitting his hands as well as feet

Holy fuck, mate, you are shit at this game if it took you that long.
Thing was piss-easy.

I think he meant level 30

I know. It's a tad high you ask me.
Though, that does admittedly depend a lot on the class you choose to play, I suppose. I like shields, myself. Make things easier.

Condemned. I was playing assassin and just slashed the back of his left heel for a couple hours. I could take two "medium" attacks before dying and would die from a single large attack. Couldn't climb because he would just one shot me as soon as I got near his head. All my pawns except my sorc that I kept reviving despawned. Occasionally I would manage to get my sorc pawn back up when the cyclops fell over, and once in awhile the pawn would get off a big spell. At some point the game glitched out and played the triumphant theme for the last 30 minutes solid.

It was hell, and yet somehow satisfying.

I think I got a single top tier item for it and it was for a class I don't play.

play on easy mode then choose the assassin vocation with the autonomy aug.

all fights become faster/can be finished quickly with little repetition and different combat styles.

You need to climb on him before he breaks off, being an assassin actually makes that job easier because you can climb super fast up and smack the helmet off

What if they were just doing other shit before they came across the drake? You could pretty reasonably end up at level 30 before doing the Shadowfort if you do all the other quests first and some exploring, and you could even not see the drake throughout the entirety of the game if you happened to get to the Shadowfort through the mines to the east of it.

I get the feeling people like you just hate fun. Its like you're so used to being outlier hipster "I hate popular videogames" that when you go someplace that doesn't worship popular video games, you end up hating whatever they do like.

There isn't a single objectively perfect game in existence. If you go out looking for flaws in a game you think is overhyped, they're gonna be the only thing you see.

There was a hype train, but that was mostly driven by people who already played on the xbox360 and ps3, and the hype was to get a refurbished game we enjoyed playing. The mods we thought were coming never really materialized, though work is supposedly still ongoing.

Dragon's dogma is on the MIT frame work, like DMC, and so it is moddable, but the developers are unable to give out modding tools because the devkit is proprietary software or some shit that they use on contract.

Hard mode, m8s. Level 30 doesn't take long in hard mode unless you keep dieing. The first time I played, I don't remember what level I was when I first killed it. I only remember that I kept fighting it the first time I encountered it.

As soon as I entered the room one of my pawns ran up and started smacking him. Strategy was not an option. I might give it a try again without rift pawns, but I haven't touched the game after I played it for a week solid after it was first put on Steam.

True, I suppose. Still, if you are going to yap about 'git gud, I beat the drake at X', you should make sure it's an actually impressive level.
Guys attacks are crazy predictable, though. Only issue with the critter is your pawn getting nabbed. Solution: Bring only your regular pawn, preferably as a support class healer ice enchanter.

It was genuinely boring for me. You walk ages to fight a few interesting enemies, but most the time, you're just walking a massive area full of fuck all but shitty straw enemies.
It is hugely overrated. I don't see why it blew up here so much. Usually you guys are a bit harsh on such stuffs.

But, hey, call me a hipster if it makes you feel better, you kraut-fucking assmonkey.

That's fair, I suppose. Hard mode rewards a stupid amount of money and exp. Makes it, hilariously, easier than normal.

Clearly, you're the one that needs to spit words to feel better. I enjoy Dragon's Dogma, you don't and all that salt must irritate your huge, gaping asshole, I sincerely recommend you change your way of living if you don't want to be perpetually miserable.

>I'm the one with the "gaping asshole".
Hue
I didn't even hate the game. I thought it was mid-range, or otherwise average. Had a lot of good ideas, had a lot of fun bits, but most the stuff was plagued by rather dull stretches what kill it off.

Actually, you don't get 1shotted nearly as often in normal mode and most armored enemies power through your attacks.

I was a low enough level to get 1 shotted by it.

True, but outside the oneshots, you can buy so many healshits to cover most anything what doesn't.
And thanks to the mass of exp, you lose that out pretty quick.
That's fair, I suppose. Though, the drake's attacks are still massively predictable.
Still, credit where credit is due, I guess.

...

I can definitely sympathize with your complaints about the game. I've spent over 400 hours in it and it's about my 5th favorite game of all time, but I can complain about it for days. I can complain even more about my #1 (Dark Souls).

In DD the balance is fucked (especially with equipment), there needs to be a lot more enemy variety in the overworld, there needs to be more overworld in general and for it to be more dense, arbitrary class restrictions are gay (fixed by mods thankfully), way too few skills for anything that isn't a one handed sword/mace, consumables break the balance, the Chimera is shown in the tutorial and is almost certainly the best boss in the game (Daimon is competitive with it though), NG+ should just swap all the normal enemies with their post game version, hard mode is broken, hiring your friends pawns is broken, the music is great but it gets very repetitive after awhile, way faster to beat the game and kill the dragon than it is to find upgrade materials for your weapons to get them to rank 3 and then try dragonforging over and over, BBI can become a huge grind if you want cool stuff, button mash QTEs, can't give pawns orders like "hey sorcerer charge up your fucking spell before the fight starts" (being able to switch perspectives and directly control them would be awesome), there's lots of armor/clothing sets that NPCs wear you can't get for some reason, can only make 1 arisen/pawn per account (I made alts and did family sharing), climbing enemies can become extremely wonky, and finally there's no mage/sorcerer spells that are fast and fun, the only fun ones take forever to charge.

There's probably a billion more complaints I have about the game but those were just off the top of my head. Despite all those and more I still love it to death and would trade any upcoming game for a sequel (Even NieR).

It's tragic that devs can make these super good games that I consider to be better than almost any other game ever made, despite being completely unfinished. More than 3/4 of Dragon's Dogma's content was cut and half the content in DaS1 was incredibly rushed.

If thats really the way you feel, then why do you keep posting in the thread?

Yeah if you want to make the game boring. I always packed very lightly.

I think you missed the point of my post anyway. He was complaining about not being high enough level to fight bosses. I'm saying he's shit because, outside of the expansion, you don't need to grind at all to beat of the bosses. You just have to not be shit. I don't care about any other criticism anyone has about it. I don't like the "I didn't think it was that good, so it's overrated" attitude some faggots have, but I don't care about that too much. When you start spreading lies like "Either you are high enough level to fight it or you're not", I can't help but tell you (him) to fuck off.

I bring up the drake because it's a casual filter. You can fight him pretty early in an, otherwise, unassuming area. It has the highest health/defense and damage of any early game boss, by far, and it has the most dangerous debilitation. It also near-impervious to any attack outside of it's weak point, which is on his most dangerous area. If anyone were to complain about bosses being hard, too early, they are either talking about the drake or are extremely shit at video games.

Seriously, mate, fuck off already.
Why are you even saging if you think that way? What, you think the thread of the game you like shouldn't be bumped?

You've pretty much got the lot, aye.
It's one of those things that has got crazy potential, but they just dropped shit in so many different areas that I am left with a rather shitty experience topped with the occasional diamond of awesome boss fighting here and there.

Loved the story right up til the end where they faceplanted that shit as hard as they could.

True enough. I just assumed he was talking about some BBI stuff, myself. Otherwise, everything is beatable.

While I am complaining, the lack of character decision really fucked over a lot of things for me, as far as really getting into jazz.
Like the bit with the princess. I just assumed it was some quest she wanted me to do. Nope, she wants to cuck the other guy. See him show up and start choking her, my reaction was immediately to swing at him. Nope, just take forever to lightly touch his shoulder. Well, I don't want to get whipped for shitty dutchess lie because she wanted to do something untoward, but nope, out to the whipping post.
Same for the castle bit where you get chased. I'm fucking crazy powerful by that point, and can slaughter those easy guards like they're nothing. But, nope, jump out the window and run away like a pansy.
At least they're good for grinding.

I was disappointed as hell with the king scene, because no lie, I did wind up an Arc of Deliverance and right as soon as it connected it goes to the cutscene.

I did similar. Dashed with my at the time shock mace. Loved the hell out of that thing, incidentally. Took ages to replace, because I got the "fantasy riot cop stun baton" vibe.
Made me sad when it didn't connect.

I'm surprised you loved the story right up until the end because it was the exact oppsite for me. I thought it was terrible before the fight with The Dragon, interesting afterwards, and 10/10 wtf am I even playing when you kill god, become him, and start the cycle all over again. The pre dragon story was just really predictable and generic, it was at least pretty endearing in how generic it was but that doesn't make it good.

Cutscenes are also one of my biggest complaints about the game, I mean sure you can skip them, but there's no way I'm going to get immersed in a quest if my Arisen is going to act like a total retard every time the camera cuts. I'd much rather the game handle it like Morrowind where you can kill anyone, no cutscenes, and all story progression is done either by dialogue options you choose or you actually doing shit like killing someone or going somewhere.

I did the same but with a different king scene, at the end of the game after the dragon when the king thinks you betrayed him and tries to kill you, you don't get to actually fuck his shit up because when his health reaches 0 a cutscene plays where he just slowly keels over. What the fuck is the point of that, or any of these other cutscenes. You fuckers already made a bunch of animations that can play when people die, just let that happen and make my arc of deliverance 100x more satisfying.

Cutscenes are cancer.

You should go to bbi unless you beat the game or you know what you're doing. If you beat the game, you're strong enough to beat BBI. If you want to turn the game into easy mode, just use 3star rusted daggers.

...

Time to find a new hobby you fucking mong.

>I have come to grace this thread with my keen insight, did you know that the game you are all enjoying isn't perfect?
Thank you, the scales have fallen from my eyes

I didn't even encounter regular dragons until after I started killing the upgraded versions in BBI. I honestly forgot they existed so I never went to go fight them. They're generally pretty out of the way, except the drake near the Shadow Fort, and even so I could see people simply not going over to his area.

Don't send them to leddit world. They don't need to see them talking about how evil Trump is in chat and how that poor innocent dindu is reason enough to kill all cops in the world.

You don't need to use a VPN for anything but logging in via launcher. You can turn it off the moment you get to the character select screen.

I've seen a few people say this about DDO but the P2W gear is never stronger than any of the max gear. The benefit of the P2W gear is that from level 1 - 40 (For launch) you didnt need to craft or buy another weapon. Plus the P2W gear can be earned for free and right now you have a lotto that gives a 100% chance of giving you any of the unique armor and weapons. You can even earn the cash shop currency form just daily log in bonuses. Its hardly P2W now and wasn't at launch either.

Most of those problems save "gutted classes" has been fixed. Only really Hunter and Seeker feel completely gutted the rest feel like their own thing now. The new class is also really cool and can hopefully one day be modded into DD:DA. lots of people have really said how much they wanted a fist mage/monk class in DD:DA. Anyway DDO was clearly unfinished and rushed out the door and only the updates have saved it. Even then, anyone who expected at launch and even now anything remotely like DD:DA from a F2P MMO from COG did nothing but set themselves up for disappointment. Even now at season 2.0 with all the changes COG still cant get end-game content right.

I find combat much more balanced in hard mode, where lower stamina and defenses teach you cautiousness.

But the leveling curve is all fucked up: in the beginning bats will oneshot you, and afterwards you will overlevel like mad. My suggestion is to use a mod which lowers the XP you get, and grind your teeth in the beginning until you're out of the noob zone.

So basically the game is a massive turd and you're only playing it for the brand name of Dragon's Dogma?
That's pretty sad.

Curb your autism there lad. You act as if the game fucking fondled you at night when you were 8.
Its actually a fairly competent game now that hits a nice sweet spot between DD:DA and MonHun. It also constantly receives new content every couple weeks and a boat load of content every 2 or 3 months. Basically, exactly what a sane person would have expected. Also anyone who knows anything about PSO2 would also have expected a major over-haul a year or so later fixing 90% of the games problems.
I'm sorry the game scarred you so bad user.

I don't remember enemies having massive damage reduction in either monhun or DDA.
So the game's mechanics aren't pulled from either, the classes are still gutted, and they still try to force a holy trinity MMO.
It's garbage

Eh, I am a sucker for the "MUH HUMAN WILL, DO THA IMPOSSIBLE" myself.
The god bit, though, just has you continuing the cycle, completely defeating the prior lot of "see what's over the hill".

I was under the impression that killing yourself ended it, but I also don't pick up on things that aren't obvious.

...

You killed the thing and became a(n) hero.

Okay but why did my pawn turn into me when I Godsbaned myself

Christian magic.
Jap voodoo.
Fuck if I know.

Some transmigration of souls bullshit. Basically Selene looks like her former arisen did when young, and your pawn will have the same fate.
If my arisen only knew this before making his main pawn a little girl

How does it feel to be the Dragon's Dogma equivalent of a Chad?

It's scary

Game doesnt need to have mechanics of MonHun to be similar to it. Also the classes aren't still gutted. Some feel different but overall take more skill. Only really EA (Magick Archer) and Hunter (Ranger) feel gimped as they now play differently. You dont need either a healer or a tank anymore. Its plausible to do so without either, but a healer of some sort is recommended. The game has gone through a complete overhaul.

This is finally getting cuhrazy

A friend and I were going to try out DDO, but the VPN we used kept shitting itself halfway through the DL. Is it worth the effort to play, or is it really just that bad?

To be fair, it is a licensed song by B'z. Capcom paid for them to make an English version of Samayoeru Aoi Dangan, but B'z of course retained all the rights. Capcom has no control over Into Free, even if it was originally commissioned to be used in DD.

Did they make sorcerer and priest into a single class again?
Did they make Shield sage not a waste of space that could actually do decent damage?
Did they make hunter and seeker combined back into Strider?

Also

It really isn't, if you liked Dragon's Dogma this game has nothing going for it except that it shares the name.

Just wait till Daimon starts nonchalantly casting frigor and bolide right before he dropkicks you

At least you knew to use the holy magic shield block on it

Sorcerer now has enough new skills it plays as its own thing and has a load of potential. Its still OP and god-like when played right.
Shield Sage always did decent damage and are god-kings of support with their debuffs. They function as the defensive half of the Magick Knight requiring timing and managing multiple statuses to play right. The new class is going to be the out-right offensive half of Magick Knight.
Hunter is still its own thing and so is Strider which is sad, however that doesnt mean they feel weak as shit. Seeker is much more fun than strider thanks to the rope. Hunter does leave a bit of a bad taste, but its not over-all shit.
Classes dont play the exact same. They work better for balance and require a degree of skill now. Thats the difference. Warrior, Sorc and Fighter feel completely unchanged whilst Priest is a better alternative to mage for players. Also Priest was never dedicated to healing. It was dedicated to support through buffs. The rest really feel like their own entity and why I encourage people to go into them thinking they function more like MonHun weapons. You aren't crazy ass OP but you serve a role within your unit and playing it well makes all the difference.

If you wanna DL it check Reddit as they should have a MEGA you can DL it from so that you dont need VPNs.
Just don't be like that other autist and expect it to be exactly DD:DA or you will be disappointed. Expect something in the middle of DD:DA and MonHun.

nice dubs
Yeah Daimon should be fun

Yeah I know I can cast more, but I wanted to get the most out of that spell, I actually didn't expect to kill the bishop with that, but I didn't account the fact that I was buffed out of the wazoo

Remember to stock up on RC if you want to further upgrade your gear. You either whore your pawn out (to whoever's still playing) or farm it either via cursed dragons or respawning chests. BBI is basically the only time godsbane is useful outside of story purposes

muh stats. not everyone's as dull a person as you.

Oddly enough my pawn was getting more use while being lower level, around 30 to 60 was very active, if it gets too annoying to get RC I'll just use a mod

What's this about a new class? Got a source?

You guys ever miss your past arisens?
I kinda do, almost like long lost friends, ya know?

Must've made countless arisens by now, but I always got my favorites, ya know the weird runs ya did or just those ones that ended up so perfect that ya just couldn't forget em

You guys got any tales of past arisens? I've got plenty but I'm more interested if anyone else has a good tale of the arisen

That and I don't wanna linger on how much I liked them, and how I can't get them back

Isn't there a save manager mod?
Also short story:

Gotta love the hired help

And yeah there is one now
Can't do shit about the one's that are already gone ya know?

The fuck can priest even do alone? If you can explain to me in some way how a priest can take down something alone, I may go back to that shit

Nothing major but here is its reveal trailer.
Its a tank with high mobility and insentivised to constantly attack

Nothing can solo anything the same level as it for the most part. DDO is multiplayer so its not really possible even for high level Warriors or Sorcs without grinding for high level end-game gear. However a Priest with pawns his level has some options thanks to pawns not being braindead now too.

Gaurd bit makes you invul for 5 hits with no stam regen, but a new skill instantly refills all stam to full (This made Hunter instant best DPS on release in 1.1)
Alongside its attack buff and saints aura the priest can perform well with melee pawns via field shifting and constantly casting Sacred Shine that hits consistently for 9999. Enrage can be destroyed easily thanks to the melee pawns and priest reveal. If its a golem a sorc can also help a great deal as Levin hits cores no matter what. The priest can also have a separate skill-set (You can now take 8 skills a swap from 1 set of 4 to another set of 4 after an animation) dedicated for damage and one for more defensive play.
Seraphim Flap also helps deal some damage to mobile foes. A high level Priest can also take two sorcs and have an SS tank the boss away whilst using "Quick charge" which doubles the charge speed of all skills. Allowing Sorcs to cast bolide in about 8 seconds and Levin (Which is also insanely strong) in about 4 seconds. Seism will instantly remove half of the enrage bar and can be cast in 8 seconds too. Meaning a Priest can solo rather well provided he hires some good pawns or trains his own three to be decent

Guess I'll be avoiding it again
It sounds like priests have more involvement then they used to, but honestly I don't have many options for who to pair up with on a jap only game requiring VPNs

Thanks for the info though, I'll pick it back up should it ever come state side

REQUESTING THAT ONE OC COMIC ABOUT THE user STARTING THE GAME AGAIN ON HARD, KILLING HIS FIRST GOBLIN AND DROPPING THE 10K GOLD POUCH

Please tell me you guys have it

:^)

you cheeky cunt you

You don't need a VPN to do anything but get into the game. You can turn it off after the main menu. There is usually a few other people in-game to form a full party. However it is a good idea to wait for either an unlikely state-wide release or for more content anyway.

Priests are involved, but if you ever do get into it, I'd suggest EA. They do a fair bit more attacking and fulfill the same role as Priest as support based healers with buffs.

why you must torture me like this user

...

you want to hear a really good joke

I accidentally saved over the original so that's the only size I have now.

...

I think I can hold out for cheaper.

Thanks for reminding me

If you're on PC, you can use a mod to increase RC quest rewards, so instead of getting a profanely insignificant 2 rc for a quest, you get a respectably modest 200. Almost required if you want to play offline, or without renting out your pawn. The way Capcom tried to bottleneck RC and make you pay for it with real currency is bullshit, and my hate of micro-transactions transfers to DDO as well. If these AAA studios are having a hard time making a profit, then maybe they should focus on cutting costs rather than milking vulnerable customers. And cutting costs in a reasonable way, by preventing unreasonable expenditures, not cutting content.

As they sit there and get outdone by consumables.
Seriously the game is hot garbage and also don't lie.

You can't train your pawns, that's legit been removed

I meant train as in, set good skills, give them good gear and order them around well. You can even tell some classes to use certain skills on the spot. Such as the new SS skill to make all damage 0 in an area around them but it drains their stamina like a mother bitch. The Priests Quick charge and stamina field as well.

Also no once priest got their "Stamina field" Hunters raped all other classes for DPS. So much so it was common for GM raids to be 7 hunters and one Priest or 6 hunters a priest and an EA/SS.
Priests buff also straight up affects damage numbers not stats. Meaning a priests attack buff can make 5000 damage 6000. Whilst a conquerors periapt will increase it to about 5500. However the priests buff stacks with the periapt making Priests even more desirable and reviving downed players with a specific passive gives allies a free periapt buff to stack with your attack buff to stack with your stamina skill that stacks with their "high stamina = more damage" passive. To stack on your doubling the cast speed of the sorcerers that wont drain your stamina thanks to your stamina field lasting 20 seconds. Priests are fucking solid.

You dont know anything about the game anymore.

Finally got around to continuing BBI after not playing the game for a few months.

Goddamn that undead bishop cursed dragon fight was great. I feel like large-spell using enemies were pretty underused through most of the game, seeing the enemy use that tornado spell is great. Also, as always, the music was top tier.

I had no idea how much I missed the game. Hearing the title and BBI theme hit me with some minor nostalgia. I can't even explain why I fucking love this game so much because I can't list off any objective reasons why the game is good other than the music, but fuck it has to be my favorite game I have played in the last 5+ years.

I meant Shield sage you dip.

The music is fucking on point and its a shame Eternal Return wasn't used in a boss fight at some point.

also on that note

I forgot to mention the most egregious thing about DDO.
So you know how in the real game and not a shitty MMO cash grab, you had your base level and then vocation level?
What if you decided to completely get rid of that and instead just make it like FFXIV's class system and instead had to return to an inn to change.

Seriously every system that Made DDA unique has been completely stripped out.
You liked pawns? lol it's an MMO, better make them braindead.
You liked older gear not becoming invalidated? well that's out too
You liked stats being tied to level so you could use a slightly worse weapon if you liked the effects? Also out

So the class that now can apply 3 different insanely good status effects easily is weaker than a consumable?
Slow to allow for easy rape and crowd control?
Sleep to allow for easy Rape and yet more crowd control on top of making enrage even more of a cake walk?
Petrify to extend the down time of a knocked over foe?
The fact they freeze enemies allowing for yet more extended down time on top of buff other classes to do more damage through elements as well as assist with enrage as they do insane "Break" damage and their buffs assist in damaging weak-spots (Which dont need to be revealed to be hit. Reveal just increases the enrage damage done.)

Or the fact they can save parties through taking aggro well and stun weaker enemies as later on, eliminators are damn strong?

Or maybe you think they are weak as their new skill to allow them to get max force guage instantly is also weak as shit despite it allowing them to spam constant 3000 damage attacks over and over.

Or is their ability to make all damage 0 that works really well with Priests stamina skill, allowing entire parties to constantly attack what would usually be a dangerous spot?

What consumables were you using?

So what you're saying is, that if go into this expecting something like an MMO that plays somewhere in-between DD:DA and MonHun you might enjoy itt? The thing I've been saying to you all thread?
Damn.

Also as I said last thread and in this thread pawn AI has been constantly improved to the point of pawns being able to carry players in higher level dungeons.
I've had an easy time with pawns in end-game dungeons solo.

I think you got the wrong post with that first reply.

Except as I'm saying it's not even a mix between the two and your grasping for straws.
The only things it takes from DDA is that you can climb on monsters, and the athestics. Everything else has been so heavily modified or stripped out if you liked DDA for the unique things it did, you won't like the cashgrab MMO.

Also I like how you keep bringing in monster hunter like it's somehow relevant. That makes no sense.

Yeah, it went through at the same time the other one did. Meant for

If you're gonna be a stingy jew just pirate it and buy it whenever you feel it's at the price you'd like to support the developers with.

Buying a digital game = inconvenient form of donating with a set price and middleman.

It is relevant though.
A multiplayer game in which you and 3 other players take on a large monster and through teamwork and playing your roles correctly (Vocations instead of weapons) you can take said foe down much easier than if you were all doing your own thing.

DDO did remove the single-player RPG mechanics, however anyone who enjoyed the combat alone and wants to see a balanced version of it with co-op that is actually challenging can have a load of fun with it.

Also calling it a cash-grab when its free is disingenuous and you know it.

It's "free" when it has a cash shop.
It's a cash grab.

The monster hunter comparison has as much weight behind it as any 4 player Co-op Game. Vermintide would be just as accurate. You're just throwing it out there because you know it has a bit of a following behind it and you're hoping it'll lend some legitimacy to this generic heap of an MMO.

Yet the core concept of combat is the same as MonHun. Each class has a specific job to fulfill that allows the rest of the party to perform their own job well whilst the core combat is tailored to fights against larger monsters wherein every party member is in danger.
Fights against larger monsters can be made smoother by someone also inflicting status ailments and well co-ordinated combinations of skills and actions.

Also the cash shop content can all be acquired for free without spending any money at all. You can currently get Cash shop currency just for logging in daily. Its closer to the micro transactions for RC and gear that DD:DA also had.

Also I'm throwing the comparison out there as even people who played DDO at launch said it reminds them a lot of MonHun. That was back at launch when the game had barely any redeeming features in it.

Actually people who played it at launch said it was a pile of shit, and then if anyone insulted it they were somehow amalgamated into a single person with proxies with such great defenses as "it's japanese so of course westerners can't understand it" , who the threads then begged the mods to ban, this later formed up into them making their own board to "hide from shitposters"
That's how bad the game is.
It may have gotten better, but it still lacks everything that made DDA unique

And I'm here saying that the game has gone through updates typical of an action MMO that changes the entire game. Much like Vindictus is now rather different and PSO2 is as well.

The drama with the thread came from 2 shit posters who actively stifled discussion and high-jacked the OP to purposefully exclude information to stop new players from joining to get their own opinion or even people who wished to continue to play from returning.
Also it was constantly the same 2 Ids appearing over and over again even weeks after they dropped the game. Everyone else who criticized the game wasn't met with insults, just the OP and that other poster who constantly shat it up.

Also just because it lacks what made DDA unique, doesn't mean its now not a competent game. I fully agree with you. At launch DDO was barely a step above trash and only held merit in the fact it was a decent distraction provided you didn't expect to get DD:DA.

I loved the game on console and was hyped for it to come out onPC but I stopped coming to these threads when I saw everyone here overhyping the shit out of it. I occasionally check these threads and everytime I see half the thread is people shitting on the game because they got too hyped by Holla Forums and were dissapointed. It's not a great game, it's an average game with the potential to be really good and fun if you can get into it and enjoy it but it has too many flaws to be considered a great game.

I love the game and it has some great stuff but you can't deny that it feels unfinished as fuck. Everything works and it's perfectly playable but you can tell they wanted to do more but had to settle for release. People hyped the game and those who bought into it are mad that it wasn't what they expected after getting hyped like idiots.

I didn't even bother to check out the threads until after someone made a infographic crying about how.. I think they had 7 IDs they claimed were some pet name they gave their boogeyman on it were "hijacking threads" or something. And the complaints in the OP were spot on the game at that time was fucking horrible.
I mean shit didn't you guys try to make a fake mabinogi thread to hide from "the shitposters" too.

Yeah you're right, however it makes it a shit dragon's dogma game

Where's your Nippon god now? I just hope they do more with the sequel instead of make it more barebones. I want to climb shit besides mobs.

Have you seen the pictures? The charts? What we got was but a fraction of the original ambition. It was literally supposed to be Japanese Skyrim, what with the open world and NPC interaction. The systems in place are far too complex for the game we got in the end, and for everything cut Capcom still tried to jam microtransactions in the form of rift crystals.

Yeah that happened. Someone decided to make a Mabinogi thread as opposed to move over to /vg/ Like I suggested from the get go as we didn't need a thread for anything but updates or a place to share occasional info and screenshots. Its the same deal with most MMO threads on here.

Also I don't recall any pet-names about a boogey man aside from us calling the OP an autist. Most of the complaining that exists from the people currently still playing from launch only extends to that OP and no one else. Whilst his points were spot on he was still purposefully not providing information to allow people who wished to return to the game to return.
This was exasperated by the fact that at one point COG out-right banned VPNs. The way to get around it and the way to get in-game was also removed from the OP. Some people were still interested in the game but the instant he high-jacked the OP timed with the VPN ban a fair few people just dissipated despite the work around being posted a day later, only to be hidden among a flood of shitposts and then the next thread to purposefully exclude said workaround as well.
It also didn't help that someone kept falling for the clear bait to such a degree I recall both the OP and some equally as autistic person having easily more than 70 posts consisting of nothing but images of each other filtering the other with smug anime girls next to it followed by name calling and "lalala I'm not listening."

Didn't we also miss out on different races? I seem to recall the idea being that they wanted to promote RE6 using DD and thus pushed the release up yet I never see anything solid other than very early design work that includes shit the devs themselves may have decided to cut and not the Capcom high-ups. Its very interesting as the

You guys made an infographic begging mods to ban him, it was really hilarious.

I think additional races was cut out super early, so there's not much. The moon and all that other stuff along with the eternal tower was cut later into production

Its very interesting as the

What were you gonna say there? Come on now, its not like you ran out of your posting budget, did you?

The moon and multiple endings was likely cut late into development alongside some of the extra endings.

Also I don't remember anything about an info-graphic at all or anyone calling for a ban. Was this maybe in some meta-threads or in the mabi-thread instead?

I was about to say exactly what said.
Some of the content may have been cut extremely late but some may have been dropped right away like I can easily imagine multiple races being abandoned not too long into development.

You need to lotion your butthole and just hang on a wiki, holy shit.

yeah it was in one of the meta monday threads, it probably ranks up there as one of the funniest most pathetic things I saw on Holla Forums.
Man I wish I saved it for cringe threads. It basically claimed that posted anything but glowing praise for the game was "Captain Autismo" or some stupid pet name like that. Really hilarious.

Could you stop sucking your own cock for a fraction of a second.

Did you mean to quote someone else or… are we just tired or what? that post makes no sense

Nah, the most pathetic thing was when Marc tried to bannu me for "not contributing" when I rustled his jewess self in a meta thread. Even though that faggot is reddit tier and I came here before some nigger was even bothering to claim Holla Forums.

Especially regarding their circlejerk outside of the board on discord and that shitslime video streaming hub.

We mostly use steam to get in contact now alongside the /vg/ thread for anything we think we should share. Also 70+ posts of nothing but shrugging anime girls can be considered shit posting. I never saw the info-graphic but I would say that was easily as pathetic as the boogeyman levels of hysteria that apparently went on.

Dude what the fuck are you even on about anymore? Did Mark do something retarded again or is this also shit from a year ago?

Was getting caught part of your plan?

what? He posted his IGN in the thread, of course he still plays it

What did they mean by this?

Of course.

Insanely Gargantuan Nemesis.

Does the game pick up at any point? i've been playing for two hours or so, and so far i've collected flowers, cleared a mine, climbed a cyclops and got a slave warrior i called negro joe, but i can't get into the combat system, seems pretty repetitive, spam left click and wait for the pawn to shout HE'S WEAK TO FIRE and kill it

The game opens up the moment you get to the main City Gran Soren. You're basically still in tutorial mode as far as the game is concerned for now. If combat begins to feel repetitive try changing classes and experimenting a bit. Enemy variety, density and difficulty does begin to pick up enough that combat gets more involved, just don't expect DMC levels of cuhrazy though.

The combat becomes a lot more fun once you get cool skills (they'll start popping up around vocation rank 5). Also if you picked a mage the combat will always be shit and if you picked a strider class it will mostly be mediocre outside of boss fights. Fighters are pretty fun in groups if you make proper use of the shield (perfect blocks). I personally think that Assassin, Warrior, Sorcerer, and Mystic Knight are the most fun classes but you can't play any of those until you get to the main city and switch vocations.

Legit QUestion: Are yo that autist that sperged out about DD:DA multiplayer back when it was announced for pc? because holy shit you're really going the extra mile trying to defend that gook mmo
Honestly if it ever comes to the west I'll prove play it then drop it like hot garbage after a while beacuse at his core DD was a single player game, a shitty "something like an MMO that plays somewhere in-between DD:DA and MonHun" sounds like trash and it was when I played it you may argue about updates and all but at the end of the day people that liked DD never really cared about multiplayer at all, or at least I know that I didn't care for having XXX_Gatssu_XXX in my game

I'm gonna fucking get it

If you're playing a pure melee build you're going for probably the most boring class possible. Not that the melee doesn't have some cool things going on, like launching moves or timed blocking, but the magic classes and hybrid classes are where it's at

I thought BBI was an island not some kind of bobble dimension.

So are the big monsters on Bitterblack always randomised?

I went into a courtyard past that guy that you can enchant weapons and buy stuff and i came across a dragon, since i didn't have any ice enchant i play Mystic Knight and it seemed a bit too tough so i went back changed my skill but when i returned i had a hydra waiting for me instead. So did i srew the pooch or is this supposed to be this way?

some areas have specific bosses while others are randomized, if I remember correctly

oh well , i guess i'll just have to either try again after i reach lvl 100 or wait until newgame+ to visit that place

a real man has 2x bloody knuckles and conqueror's periapts

Let's talk about how terrible of a mechanic instant menu healing and common revive items are. It's my largest complaint with the game by far. It takes a large part of the intensity out of the fight when all you have to do to win any fight is stock up on enough healing items and wakestones beforehand.

Nigga I'm going through BBI at level 60. I just beat the dark bishop cursed dragon combo. Fix up your pawns if you are having trouble. My sorc does like 80% of the damage

And how it isn't cancer?

The revives are only common near the end game where they also become useless until BBI

I love this game but the healing system is completely broken. Once you figure out that you can either grab apples/grapes and let them mold to turn into wine or bring a shit ton of bottles to a healing spring you become pretty much unkillable, which you can become anyways with the right BBI equipment and augmentations.

I've had to arbitrarily ban myself from consumables and any tier 2/3 BBI armor and weapons in order for the game to stay fun on replays or alt characters.

I have no idea what you are on about as I recall people screaming for multiplayer on release date of DD back in 2012.
I can understand not wanting there to be any multi-player however, especially since its very inclusion would naturally dilute what made DD:DA so great. If DD2 ever is announced with Multi-player I'd be pissed.

All I'm saying is that if you ever thought you did want something like a multiplayer DD, then you can get that in DDO. My defense was never of. "BUT ITS LIKE DD:DA." Its always been. "If you thought you might enjoy DDO now that its translated, has more classes, has more content, has fixed enrage, leveling is easier and crafting can be completely skipped for 90% of the game and pawns are now smarter and VPNs are required. DDO is that now with still more to come."

Its an island created entirely by Daimon's hatred of the eternal cycle and those who perpetuate it. So only Arisen can see and go there. It actually is a bobble dimension of sorts.

VPNS aren't required*

But I have a webm; think I've got an MP4 somewhere too.

Dude what

it's shit isn't it

I've been hearing from multiple sources that it's good now, but it requires a jap proxy on at all times so fuck that

You only need to bypass the IP check on the launcher. With an easy workaround, you can use your connection as usual once you're ingame.

My biggest gripe with the damn game was not being able to directly set companion AI instead of having to rely on a vague, convoluted "training" system that's a total fucking gimmick. The way AI companions in vidya work is they're either very tightly controlled by the player, or they're an annoying hindrance; there is no option C.

lets look at your earlier post

So you're just lying and trying to bait people into playing a shitty game

Imagine this game with FFXII's gambit system, that shit could have been amazing.

Pawns are part of the arisen's soul, when you commit sudoku what's left of the arisen's soul stays in non purgatory as the seneschal after being separated from your body.

Since the only two things that truly belong to you that have still a complete physical form are your pawn (who has an incomplete soul) and the empty husk that is your body your pawn decides to take control of your body as a means of desperately trying to keep you alive.

You made literally no point quoting that and I fail to see what point you were trying to make.

From the very beginning I have been saying DDO is its own thing and anyone who went to it and will go to it looking for the exact same experience as DD:DA won't get that.

Read this:dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Pawn_Inclination
Get this: nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/96/?
press f12 got to stats, main pawn inclinations and go to town, you can even modify hired pawns inclinations, dunno if that stays when you send them back but it will make your life so much easier, instead of dealing with the back cat and going to sleep over and over.

I hate capcom

So stop shilling it in the DDA thread when it is "it's own thing"
It's own Mediocre thing.

Also I checked the thread

Seem like a dead game you're desperately trying to get people for

If the game is dead and nobody talks about it, then why are you so mad that people mention it?

Game deserves to die for being mediocre cash grab to milk whales.
Same reason that the dungeon keeper mobile game deserved to die

What

How bad is it if I kind of jumped between fighter, warrior, and assassin to get some skills i wanted. My end game goal is to play as an assassin. What are good skills for assassins?

You're right, Dungeon keeper was more faithful rather than the nonsense DDO is.

I can only imagine the discussion when they made it
God Speed COG

Not at all, that's what you're supposed to do.
You didn't go into a magic class so you just traded a little more attack for more HP and survivability during your stints as fighter and warrior.

And skills it depends on how you want to play.
Usually Bloodlust from assassin is considered good.
Clout from warrior is good.
Leg Strength and Endurance from strider are nice.
Sinew, Exhilaration, and Vehemence from fighter are good.

If you're planning on going solo, Autonomy from assassin is a must.

What attack abilities should I use? My old character used to be just a sorcerer, so I wanted to try assassin and most people have told me just to use those grab skills.

But none of those things are "what made DD good", at worst they're just minor let downs
I couldn't care less that the game no longer pressures you to use the same class as your pawn because doing anything else will make them more retarded than the default AI, it's more annoying that those filthy japs use different accept and cancel buttons than us cultured westerners

I hate the AI in this game. I have mine just be a strider or ranger with a rusted bow and it still acts like a retard even if I try to use a bow as well. It will try to punch things rather than shoot them.

yeah removing anything that made DDA unique and interesting is a minor grievance.

Oh if you're using daggers the hundred kiss line is one of the best, instant reset, really assassin is one of the strongest classes, just do what you want skill wise.

Well yeah
Most of what made DD "unique and interesting" wasn't what made it good, aside from being good, which in itself could be considered something unique and interesting

...

TECHNOLOGY isn't what makes games good, you retard
People didn't play MGS2 so they could watch ice cubes melt

How does that have anything to do with your previous statement of
which is the most retarded thing I've read in a long time

It has to do with the first half of it, which was my actual point, that neat things don't make game good

In today's climate, a game being good could be seen as something unique, but it's not relevant to the argument and I brought it up because I was expecting that kind of cop out response

I guess the structure of that sentence just makes more sense in my head

So how does
leave DDO as a good game?
I played it myself and got to the level cap, it's one of the worst MMOs I've ever played, let alone an absolutely horrible followup to Dark Arisen. It's like comparing Devil May Cry 4 to DmC. In fact, it's almost exactly the same.
DMC4/DD:DA
DmC
etc.
The parallels are astonishing.

Hold up, you expected
To actually be taken seriously

I'm sure this sounds like a very intelligent statement in your head

user, we're talking about a game where people suck the magic system's dick because it has cool cinematic animations
I think a little more explanation is necessary to get across why you think that

Stop conflating glorified easter eggs with good gameplay

I've seen some stupid comments before, but this is probably un ironically the worst thing I've read in years

What.
I can't even find an image for this, I'm that dumbfounded

You are wrong.

Okay, I got it. Haha, you got me! Ebin b8, you truly are a meme master!
There's no way you were serious, right? Nobody is this retarded, please god help me

oh wait. You've one upped yourself. I can't even begin to fathom how utterly stupid that easter egg comment is. Do you even know what an easter egg is ? Have you even played Dragon's Dogma ? I'm actually curious at this point because there's no fucking way in hell someone as stupid as you can exist without just straight up trying to troll

This whole time I've been mostly talking about the pawn training, the intricacies of which are not made clear to the player
And when people talk about pawn training, it's never the few good parts like "Oh wow I kept unequipping and equipping my lantern and now my pawn does it!", but always "Wow my pawn is fucking stupid now, please tell me how to game the system so I can make it less of a burden to me"

It's not functionally different from most other games' magic systems, yet this one is praised as being the greatest thing to ever be created by mankind
If you have a better explanation I'd like to hear it

It's pretty easy to explain, you only described maybe 5% of the spells in the game and would like me to explain the other 95% because you don't know what you're talking about.

Wow what a shock, their save is bricked, it's not like they can try playing like someone who isn't retarded and shove a reset potion down their pawn's throat to wipe out the bad habits.
That's how magic works in DDO, and it's near useless there. In DDDA, magic is generally fast, the spells are extremely varied, and they interact with the environment in interesting ways. I can summon up an ice pillar to fucking ruin a hobgoblin's day, then one of my pawns can use the pillar as a platform to reach and fuck up a flying enemy. I can freeze goblins, pick them up, and chuck them at their friends as a projectile. I can douse an enemy in oil then drop a meteor on their head to light them up like a christmas tree.
None of what I just described is possible in DDO. You're a fucking idiot if you think it even holds a candle to DD:DA.

Wow you're doubling down on it.
How exactly is a core gameplay feature that was heavily advertised and has a complex system surrounding it an easter egg.

I'm baffled at how exactly you're trying to defend this

Don't forget groups of enemies all getting electrified if they're in the water together, or near anything metal

Unless you're counting combo classes like MA and MK, The other spells are all just pure status effects and enchantments, which literally every game with a magic system does

The ice pillar spell is the only one that interacts with the environment, and even then only sometimes
Everything else are just standard sandbox interactions with shit that isn't even part of the magic system, which is a fair point I guess, but a handful of cool shit that happens in specific circumstances alone doesn't make an entire combat system fun

All the cool things accomplished by pawn training are really obscure edge cases, with the lantern one just being something simple that most people pick up on
I said "glorified" easter eggs for a reason

and I accidentally a reply

Ingle is not a pure status effect or enchantment, and it is not a cinematic spell. Same goes for Frigor. Same goes for Levin. Same goes for Comestion. Same goes for Fulmination. Same goes for Necromancy, and I could keep going. In fact, not only are all of the other spells not pure status effects and enchantments, the unique combat spells outnumber those types of spells, and this is to say nothing of all of the attention to detail, like unique light attack animations and charged light attack animations for every single type of enchantment. Literally no other magic system does everything that Dragon's Dogma's magic system does and you are full of shit.

But there's nothing that stands out about the light elemental damage spells outside of their (very generic) utility
And none of that low tier stuff is ever mentioned when people go on about FUCK YEAH WIZARD I COMMAND THE FORCES OF NATURE LOOK AT THAT TORNADO

Is that why you didn't know about it?

None of those are low-tier spells, by the way, Ingle and Comestion can take off two health bars at a time from the minotaurs on Bitterblack, and Fulmination can deep fry any elder ogre at a rate of a health bar per second. Holy Focused Bolt, a light elemental charge attack, is also considered one of the most powerful magic techniques in the game. Again, you are full of shit.

Nigga I was talking about the elemental staff attacks
And all that explanation sort of brings back into question why people like it, since they're just normal ass offensive spells that remove damage from enemies with some secondary elemental stuff, like you've seen a million times in every other vidya that has offensive magic in it

Damn that shooting easter egg in doom

And how often do they do cool things instead of the usual routine of fighting slightly worse than an average "dumb" AI

Are you deliberately playing stupid? You were clearly referring to the long list of spells, not the brief mention of light attacks, and even those I brought up again in that post. Nice try.

How would you know? Everything about the magic system you know you have clearly only heard secondhand. You are welcome to name any game, and I mean any game, that has everything Dragon's Dogma's magic system has, that should be good for a laugh.

Quite a lot of the time if you train them well which was why it was so cool, the difference between a poor pawn and a good pawn was massive

damage dealing - every game
single target and AoE - every game
buffs/debuffs - every game
status effects - every game
any combo of the above - every game
Did I miss anything?

Yes, but the catch there is that a poor pawn is absolutely fucking retarded, so it only has to be barely average to be a "good pawn"

Multiple charge levels, multiple targets, choice of auto-aim or reticle, ability to move the area of effect, ability to move during certain levels of casting, spell canceling, not to mention the fact that you are painting with such a broad retard brush that you think that two spells that deal damage are exactly the same holy shit. I would explain in detail the differences between the spells I already listed and the way they deal damage to the enemies but this is clearly falling on deaf retard ears.

So because you can't do it, it's a dumb mechanic and impossible?

>and the way they deal damage to the enemies
Assloads of games have an elemental damage system, user, it's not some cool new thing DD invented
Unless you're referring to it just looking cool, which brings us back to the root of the issue, none of this is what people are talking about when they go on about how cool the magic system is, which is always focused on the big showy spells that, yes, just do damage and not a hell of a lot else

It's because nobody can do it without going out of their way to gimp their play experience just to train their pawn

There's nothing left to say other than you have no idea what you're talking about. I wasn't talking about an elemental damage system. I wasn't talking about it just looking cool. The spells do more than just stack up damage. You either outright haven't played the game or you are seriously fucking bad at it.

If you don't mean damage, and you don't mean secondary stuff like status effects or debuffs, and you don't mean the simple shit like AoEs or DoTs or stagger or anything else that every fucking game does, then I guess I really don't know what you're talking about, because that's all the spells do

Yeah sure it requires you to play a little differently if you want to min max, but even if you don't share a class with them, but using the pawn chair and using the spoken commands correctly you can have a pretty alright pawn.

I'd hardly call it a "glorified easter egg" as it's a core gameplay feature.

well thank god you admitted it

I'm a little disappointed with the way the greatshields work for the mystic knight vocation. They stick to your back unless you're blocking, which makes sense if you're using a staff, but its rather silly if you're using a mace or sword. It also lacks any physical shield skills, so while skeleton lords can bash you with their greatshields, you as a player can't.

I searched for a mod to fix this, and there was some guy on the RE6 forums trying to make an animation replacer swapping in the fighter animations, but it stalled in January and there hasn't been any updates.

Yet ultimately balanced and more engaging and complex. I've already explained to you multiple times how they aren't gimped anymore thanks to multiple skills being added to bring them up to DD:DA's level of variety in move-sets alongside the addition of being able to have 8 skills equipped now. They feel weaker in that now you can't solo anything as you aren't insanely OP and able to trivialize fights with gear or spamming Bolide and similarly OP skills. With pawns however any class can reach end-game.
I will grant that Hunter and EA feel gimped.
EA as its now a support class that deals damage through assisting and being assisted by others with no real new skills to make them feel at all different and Hunter as it lost the satisfaction that the longbows had with their animations and fucking orgasmic sound effects. The loss of being able to engage in melee is also a huge draw back. Hunters really need something more to them as the reload and perfect distance additions doesn't really do much to separate them much from DD:DA and the new skills still doesn't differentiate them much.
SS and Priest feel like their own thing and the next new class will likely be the Magick Knight reborn to spend less time casting enchantments and more time in combat countering with magick and remaining mobile.
Alchemist as a class is super damn fun and would fit into DD:DA nicely as it even expands upon the climbing mechanics that DD:DA and even DDO left mostly bare-bones with the way it retains aggro and how it builds status ailments. It also gels well with the changes to Enrage, allowing competent Alchs to trivialize enrage for the whole party the instant it begins.

It's a shame, yeah. It really instilled life into the pawn. Instead however you can command your pawn competently make them use the skills you want them to use exactly when you want them to, rather than scream at your ranger for not using Full Bend to knock the dragon out of the sky with an easy to make head-shot or annoyed your pawn has the wrong inclination.
The only flaw with this system is all your pawns get the command. So telling your sorc to use "fire" as you want them to cast Bolide may make your SS enchant your wep with flames instead of the enemies weakness if you aren't used to commanding different vocations via separate commands.

Once again. Fixed. Weapons and armor are dropped from quests, chests, certain monsters and even bought in shops at affordable prices. Some weapons also require one item that can be bought right from the shop in the craft room and are done crafting in literally 30 seconds.
There was no benefit in not upgrading in 99% of the situations in DD. DDO has cosmetic slots for weapons so if you just like the look of the weapon you can just use that instead of having to hunt for obscure materials or grind yourself high enough to mitigate the loss of DPS. If you just liked the fact you could poison enemies with one wep then DDO lets you enchant every single wep in the game to build any ailment provided you have money. Which you ultimately get in spades.
The only complaint I have is that most of the gear is just HD versions of DD's gear and some armor is just the same thing repeated with different colors.

That is now completely not true and works as a way to ensure classes perform their role well. Enrage only extends fights for about 10 - 20 seconds with the reward for it being huge damage that makes those 10 - 20 seconds rewarding. Also some enemies don't even have enrage at higher levels. Enrage over-all is a better way to brick-wall the player as in DDO if you dont deal enough DPS you have to do multiple enrage phases, but proper team-play and co-ordination can over-come this. In DD:DA you will just straight up deal 0 damage, forcing you to get better gear or level up 30 times. Over-all fights still take the same time in DD:DA. 5 - 10 minutes depending on multiple factors with well prepared parties able to end fights in nearly 2 minutes.

The only real legit criticism you have of the game now. (At launch those were 110% true.) Is that its not DD:DA2.
(Even though BBI does the same thing DDO does with gear but its not as egregious until Daimon first phase and then again on Daimon 2nd phase for most players. Some do feel it on the Cursed Dragon though personally, I never did.)

Yet for the people that it doesn't matter at all for as they're capable of separating DD:DA from the MMO Spin-off title (Not a reboot that actively tried to erase the originals from existence) You have very little that makes it a bad game on its own anymore. The keywords being - anymore and - on its own.

Actually you now have a mini-game to do that allows you to shave off the time spent casting higher level spells (About 4-5 seconds). As well as augment your damage on top of that.
You have synergy with the Priests later skill making positioning and co-ordination more important.
You have a back-dodge that halves your charge and your combo-count, but removes you from harm causing a new level of risk/reward that is amplified by the shorter range of your spells.
Ailments are more important now and sorcs can apply freeze in place of other classes or even stun helping with enrage a shit load or stopping the non-enrage enemies who have a habit of constantly moving and attacking.
Also some of their spells help to completely decimate enrage thanks to the new Break mechanic. With Seism decimating 50% of enrage in one cast with the added effect of stumbling, building stun and blind and also increases the enrage damage allies do.
Add to that you now get to take 8 spells at a time instead of 6.

DDO also has its fair share of fast spells now. Ice canon - basically a floating magnum chamber of ice you aim each shot of a pretty cool new skill. Levin, Cosmestion the new basic heavy attack are great. The thunder dome skill which the name of escapes me is an extremely competent fast spell with the thunder dome skill taking literally 1 seconds to cast with great knock back.

You can douse enemies in oil still in DDO and any fire damage still ignites them and wet enemies still instantly get shocked.

The removal of throwing enemies is pretty upsetting and in place of that all we get is every class being able to pin enemies like red classes in DD:DA. However that still does feel lack-luster despite adding utility to more support oriented classes. (This includes the sorc chaining the Thunder Dome into pinning enemies for others to fuck up.)
With the ice skill in DD:DA however, I found it barely ever useful assisting pawns on flying enemies thanks to the cast time and their general mobility and just opted to take a Yellow pawn or cast Levin instead.

Wait, are you serious? I never at all found out about metal conducting between metallic surfaces. You know of any WebMs of this?

I'm having a problem where I can't find my friend's pawn. He's actively using mine but I can't find his anywhere. He's slept at an inn and he says he's pretty sure he adjusted his settings right (He can't check at the moment) but I still can't find his pawn.

If you have him as your friend through whatever service (Steam, PSN or XBL) it should automatically have it enter into your rift no matter what. It may just be his settings or even your settings.

They don't learn that, they do it anyway.
