I don't know what's so hard about understanding the 8th grade principles behind a fission nuke.

Uranium-235 is unstable, if you add a single other neutron to it, it splits. It splits into 2 smaller atoms and 3 neutrons, a lot of energy is released. Those 3 neutrons go off and hit other U-235 atoms, repeating the process in a train reaction.

All you have to do is have a lump of U-235 and some way to start that reaction. To start the reaction, early bombs used a preliminary explosion to fire a whole pack of neutrons at the U-235, starting the reaction for sure, and at a high rate. That's why you'll see a smaller explosion just prior to the main explosion of a nuke.

When fission occurs in the fuel cells, a number of particles and collections of particles are given off, the most important for continuing the fission process being neutrons. However immediately after fission these are moving very fast, too fast to be absorbed by the U-235 atoms in the fuel to produce fission again.

U-235 in its default state is fairly stable. To become unstable, and split, or fission, its nucleus needs to absorb 1 additional neutron. Additionally, this 1 neutron must be moving slowly in order to be absorbed.

As the fast neutrons from fission collide with the H20 nuclei, it slows the neutrons down so that they can be absorbed by the remaining U-235 fuel nuclei.

This process also speeds up the water molecules thereby increasing their overall level of random kinetic energy. In other words, it increases the overall temperature of the water. As the high temperature, high pressure (so it doesn't boil) water leaves the reactor, it is pumped to a heat exchanger. In the heat exchanger, high temperature reactor plant water flows through metal tubes, lower temperature, lower pressure water surrounds the tubes. The lower pressure water heats and boils producing steam. The steam is piped to and is what powers the turbine engines.

Correct, there is no explosion. The rods act as heating elements. The fission reactors work is all done by the fissile material simply being the right amount, purity, and proximity to itself.

It's used to smoothly transition a nearly perfectly still subject from one cut to another, but the dumbass cut it when he blinked and so the Morph cut had no choice but to bizarrely transition between eyes closed and eyes open.

If you zoom in on his neck on the lower right hand part of the sweater you can see a white outline. Is that CGI? Maybe a shit underneath that you can't see for the rest of the photo?
