Adressing the elephant in the room

for us to move forward we need to understand what happened, what went wrong and what went right.

but before i do, and before any Holla Forumsype gets triggered, i like to specify that i was and still am a Bernie supporter, the only guy who was really outside the system.
he got fucked by the system, then the system got fucked by Trump, who is gonna fuck the people and currently handing all the power directly to the system.
the next years are gonna be entertaining glorious for us and Holla Forumsypes go on suicide watch.

ol, lets start.

1) it isn't a victory of Trump as much as it is a failure of Clinton.
Trump didn't get more vote than Romney did, Clinton on the other hand completely fucked up compared to Obama.
but despite being the least liked presidential candidate in the US history, she still won the popular vote, by a small margin.

2) we are now officially on the opposition. no matter what Holla Forumsypes says, they are now the system.

3) probably the most disturbing part but we need to face it.
Trump was not elected for his skilles nor because he had a viable economical program, he was elected for his xenophobic views, views that are shared by a large portion of low-middle class white people.
at best you could pretend that they don't mind xenophobia, but thats still an unpleasant reality.

my best guess is that Trump will hand over the keys of the white house to the GOP and wall-street bankers while he and his wife will spend their time redecorating.
it seems that he was only after the real-estate

Does this mean you were the system while Obama was in charge?

no, it means that Holla Forumsype can't blame us for being part of the system and will have to assume whatever fuck ups their guy is going to do.

You….almost had it.

An election happened. We've had a good understanding of everything there is to know about elections for a century and half now. What haven't you understood?

marxists.org/archive/bordiga/works/1922/democratic-principle.htm

thats not an argument.

That was Jill Stein. Bernie capitulated and become a tool to further the interests of corruption.

Friendly reminder that Clinton won the popular vote while Trump benefited from massive voter suppression and election fraud.

The lesson is clear: in order to beat phony pseudoleftist neoliberals we need to cheat harder than them.

Delusional

Educate yourself

Trump at least attempted to speak to economic views. That's why he won the rural poor. The Dems completely abandoned leftism in favor of bougie identity politics.

Bernie tried to make the best of a bad situation; I don't blame him.

Most people are afraid of admitting this.

I wonder how the hicks managed to adopt border socialist economic policies. Are people THAT afraid of everything? I mean, they basically want to ban free trade.

0/10, nobody could still be this retarded after the election, shit troll, shit thread.

I really wish this 'Bernie was a sellout' meme would just die already. Yes, Clinton was undoubtedly a rubbish candidate, but for anyone with considers themselves even slightly 'left' who isn't also a mouth-breathing memelord, you know a Trump presidency is going to be significantly worse. Trump has already surrounded himself with sycophants and Wall Street bankers. You're going to get the same corrupt shit, but without even lip service paid to civil liberties now.

I ask, in that situation, what exactly should he have done, stood as an independent? It would have gone the same way, and Bernie may have even been blamed personally for handing Trump the presidency. The fact that he very well could have won as the DNC nominee does leave future possibilities open for him or at least a candidate standing on a similar platform.

I personally don't quite think Bernie was a sellout, but he is CERTAINLY a poor tactician. Refusing to issue so much as the tiniest squeak about rampant electoral fraud? Continuing his campaign past California, and then turning around to concede just before the convention? Failing to fund downballot primaries against his political enemies?

He's still our best guy on the inside, both for his principles and his public exposure, but he deserves reprimand for such incompetence.

The least he could have done is not a full-throated, no-strings-attached endorsement of Clinton. He should have made her fight for it if nothing else.

I think Bernie running as an independent (or a Green would have made more sense) could have had a serious shot. It certainly would have been the more powerful third party showing from the left (instead of rightist Texas billionaires) seen in a long time. It's the kind that the left desperately needs right now.

In what way?

see

humm no, what got the rural people jizz their pants was the wall, you know because "dey took our jerbs!".

...

He ultimately lacks the qualities of a leader. He's completely spineless around other people. I could barely take the guy seriously to begin with and after caving in to Clinton he lost some of the last scrapes of respect I had for him. Clearly has no self-respect, which is good for his principles, but bad for actually dealing with people.

It's not even about him selling out so much as it is him showing what a soft character he has. Imagine that weasel in the presidents chair, it's like a joke. He's pathetic.

i think he got scared that a war with Clinton would only help Trump.
he did it for the grater good, i don't think he likes Clinton anymore than you an i, but catching pneumonia is better than catching aids.

he went with the lesser evil.

Are you an actual cat?

Labour is a commodity, even rednecks realise this, a shame that no illegal can undercut your ability at being a dumb NEET.

I feel sorry for them in the sense that they know that these are "their" jobs but don't realise that it's really their means of production that they should be talking about.

The "hicks" are labor

Free trade hurts labor and benefits capital. It isn't complicated.

Trump is a nationalist AND a socialist. There's a short word for that, I think. We need a real left to oppose him, not bougie centrism.

As Taibbi put it, the Democrats are "a workers' party that abandoned workers and turned the presidency into a vast cash-for-access enterprise, avoiding scrutiny by making Washington into Hollywood East and turning labor leaders and journalists alike into star-struck courtiers."

Burn out the rotten wood in the Dem establishment and start over.

This kind of smug liberal condescension is exactly why you are losing the working classes. Keep doing it.

It always makes me so angry

at best you could pretend that they don't mind xenophobia, but thats still an unpleasant reality.
This is wrong though. Trump was elected because A) he wasn't hillary clinton, and B) he had much more rhetoric regarding economic issues then hillary who focused exclusively on Idpol and the politics of sjw outrage. Idpol < Idpol + class politics

Because without that rhetoric he would've still won right? Being loud and politically incorrect wasn't his entire gimmick right?
Why are you such a retarded cunt?

thats a lie tho, Trump wasn't elected by hicks, his score is pretty consistent among all white people.

unlike Obama used people hope to get elected, Trump played on their fears and xenophobia.

boohoo that mean Mexican will rape your wife and kids, dem muslims want to kill you all !…

i have to admit, it wouldn't have work that good if the medias like CNN weren't such a bunch of sensationalist bitches, doing anything even making up story to keep the average moron stuck to his TV.

and now what, what did the avrage white person got ?
an orang egotistical buffon who knows nothing about politics, and who already pointed all the wallstreet bastard in his cabinet.
the same people he blamed Clinton to be working for.
the irony.

he also appointed Sarah Palin and a guy who doesn't care about the environment to be in charge of it.

if you think he will work for the interest of the avrage white person or even give a damn, you're delusional.

this will be a porky fest !.
everyone will go poorer except people who are already rich.

i find comfort in the fact that he'll fuck the bastards who voted for so hard that they'll never approach a vote booth again.

But that's wrong, you fucking retard.

...

Read what I actually type, not what you wish I'd typed.

Yeah, he was elected for his xenophobic views. The racist vote, the abrasiveness, definitely contributed and it's a little stupid to blame just one porky. Oh, and kill yourself.

The Southern strategy of race-baiting and cultural resentment is nothing new under the sun. The Republicans have used this since the 1960s, and before them, the Democrats. Trump took this and added protectionism and opposition to immigration, which was sufficient to swing an economically-depressed Rust Belt when his opponent was Killary. This is really what won him the election.

Reddit, please.

Trump won because he promised change while cunton was just more of the same. Even Satan would've beaten Clinton in this election if he had promised change.
Wake up, retard.

Never change

I'd actually be more optimistic if he had just gotten the racist vote and everyone had already given up on the promises of politicians.

Can Holla Forums stop flip-flopping between "Trump's not going to do anything for you dumb Holla Forumsyp rubes" and "Trump will literally be Hitler with a bad haircut" for even a second?

Obama was a well-spoken black "literally who?", it would've been impossible for him to lose after eight years of Bush and versus John "Well, we've still got Iran to invade" McCain

ebin

Whereas Hillary already was surrounded by such people for years, to the point where it's all she knows.

This is a good thing. It will be out in the open for people to see.

If you aren`t disgusted by that woman you need to do some thinking. Not that we should romanticise the lower classes, but it paramont to understand their struggle if we are to make progress in the greater struggle. Putting food on the table for their family will always be their first priority. If we become their enemies in this, they will never take our side. Nor should they.
(apologies for any bad english, foreigner on smartphone)

This basically covers it.

This.

But then again this board is pretty much just jaded and disaffected liberals, given that they can't help themselves from repeating the free trade platitudes of mainstream economists and the MSM

No, because not everyone who is posting on this board is the same person.

Undocumented workers are preferred because they can be paid lower wages and have no access to the legal system. What are they going to do if their boss violates what would be labor rights for American citizens - complain to the government? They will just be deported.

Illegal immigration is a transfer program from American proletarians to employers with table scraps going to third-world workers. Many people in de-industrialized who might have worked as manual laborers simply cannot compete with the wages that illegal labor is willing to accept.

...

Trump knew what he was doing from the beginning. He played the media like fools.

>Career politician
Are you moonlighting as an idiot or do you fill the role of one professionally?

Actually the DNC got the media to cover Trump constantly from the beginning because they hoped it would push the Republicans to the right and make them look ridiculous. It was their plan, but it backfired tremendously.

If something good came out of this and that is the message of the videos, it's that voting for someone because she is the lesser evil doesn't apply anymore.

Everyone seems to get that, expect the Clinton Camp and those rich hipsters (small coterie of sexually repressed and pathologically centrist think tank nerds; gotta love this one, love it so much it deserves it's own flag), who now forward Tim Kaine or Michelle Obama as the next president

this will shock Holla Forumsypes but Holla Forums isn't a hive mind, its more a place fore debate than a circlejerk

Get treaded, ancap

I want reddit to leave.

They kind of did. Voter turnout was abysmal. Look at the Clinton voters. They nearly all voted out of fear of Trump not confidence in Clinton.

...

Bernie Sanders was consistent since the 60ies
