I have already gotten a chance to thoroughly play through No Man's Sky.
I'll answer any questions Holla Forums has about it.
To start off I'll answer some faqs:
No, but it does have some very obvious flaws. The flight controls are surprisingly familiar to those of UT2004's - very smooth. I wouldn't be surprised if the dev team invested far more than they initially planned into making sure this is the one part of the game everyone likes.
yes, but not big enough. mining feels really limited and doesn't reward you with anything
Kind of. Naming stuff is fun, but other than that there's really not much to do. There is a whole lot that you can see is not fully functional and I believe this means multiplayer will be included in a future patch.
However, as of now nothing is really "co-op".
No. They're nothing more than randomized monsters that look too silly to be taken seriously.
That kills the atmosphere because this game is supposed to be taken in a 'serious' manner.
Kind of, but it still feels so off in parts. It would benefit greatly through multiplayer.
Flight and exploration are fun, but it gets old really fast. I sincerely hope they keep this game updated with new content AND do special events for fall and winter, which is the one thing that Destiny did very right.
If No Man's Sky stops getting updates in the near future, there is absolutely no reason to continue playing.
Space combat. Make that priority and then work on everything else as secondary.
6/10
There is a lot to offer the player, but it all feels so dead without the multiplayer experience. Kill off the "center of the galaxy" and replace it with something like Destiny's hub. More content has to be added to keep my attention.
Co-op is a MUST.
There needs to be cooler items available. All guns look the exact same.
