OK for the retarded AKA Poles, the only legal reason given for the reestablishment of a Polish statehood is the so called principle of the “right of self determination of the people”, invoked by Wilson during WWI and later the league of nations, followed by the United Nations.
That means that people have right to form their own state if they are a distinct people living together there for not some trivial time, forming a majority in a joint territory.

For that reason, there were some referendums after WWI to clear some territorial conflicts. Of course always set up to the disadvantage of Germany with heavy Gerry-mandering and forced in foreign influence. Never ever were held referendums which could lead to the disadvantage of the Allies, like Ellsas-Lothringen, Southern Tyrol, Bohemia or Irleland. None the less Germany won most of the disputes, save for some Gerry-mandering in Schleswig and Slesia.

Slesia is the place where the Poles never accepted the results of the referendum and tried to overturn it by force with the help of their French Allies. That invasion was rejected by a majority volunteer force made from people coming from all over Germany. Germany had barely any armed forces at that time because of the treason of Versailles.

Instead the population of Danzig was forbidden by the Allies to express their German identity, by punishment of dispossession and deportation. BTW similar oppressive methods were used in the occupied Rhineland and Saar area, what the French tried to annex.

So Poland occupied large tracts of historically and by the newest standards of international law German territory in 1939 and even more so after 1945. To make the thing worse, Poland permanently threatened Germany from 1918 to 1939, urging for even more of German territory.
The German war against Poland was therefore a defensive war against the occupation of German territory and against future Polish aggression.

Poland had in 1989 the chance to mend the situation, reach a peaceful status-quo with Germany. Germany was willing to make peace with Poland, not just the cucked occupation regime, but the population as well. German government was bending backwards, talking with angles tongues, showering the Polish with money etc.
