First fallout game i played was fallout 3, i didn't like it very much (i found oblivion to be a better game)
Then new vegas came out and i gave it a shot and thought "Hey, this is pretty good"

A lot. Really fun dialogue and good writing all around. Tons of different outcomes for quests you can greatly influence. Gameplay is fun if you like turn based.

You can really influence the way things happen in the story and quests a lot. For example your characters dialogue options will be entirely different for the entire game depending on your Intelligence stat.
If you pick like 3 INT when starting, your dialogue options will generally be something a mentally retarded person would say, NPCs will often tell you to fuck off, not give you quests etc.
If you choose average INT, your dialogue options will be things an average intelligence person would say, with high INT all your dialogue are you BTFO out of NPCs with your superior intelligence

NV was written by the same guys that did 1 and 2, so if you liked the writing of NV more than 3 then you'll like the first two too.
It will expand your knowledge of the lore of the universe a good bit (F3 and F4 I regard as non-canon, simply because of the trashy bethesda writing)
Both of the games are good isometric turn based RPGs so if you don't mind an old combat system and pop-culture references in 2, then go for it.

I recommend downloading patches that fix a lot of bugs, the vanilla games are kinda broken here and there. Also remember to go into the options and put combat and movement speed at maximum, or else every turn will drag on forever.

I hated Oblivion with guns, I never borthered with NV, and FO4 was dogshit.

You're missing out. Its better in every way than 3 and 4 and IS actually a sequel to the originals storywise because its basically what Van Buren was going to be in terms of lore and story

No. You don't understand. In fallout 1 and 2 depending on your INT, ALL your dialogue options and all npc reactions to what you say are completely different sentences. That is NOT in Fallout 3, and only when conversing with specific NPCs in NV.

There was at least one instance in New Vegas where you had a new option unlocked if you had less than 4 INT.

I'm no Bethesdrone fam. Fallout 1 and 2 are legit some of the best games I ever played, while 3, 4, and NV are abominations.

I wouldn't say NV is an abomination, the quests are fun, dialogue is good. The gameplay just is meh.

I enjoyed 3 and NV immensely. Much more than 1 and 2.

I'll admit I just hate 3D Fallout. It's not even a matter of change is bad, it's a matter of not liking it.

Agreed, it's shit. It's just "generic FPS number 1989893" to me.

It's the shitty Bethesda's engine and implementation of SPECIAL into a horrible real time FPS with pause VATS, plus the awful console interface that no amount of mods can fix. F1/2 UI and combat aren't perfect but I'll take them over NV.

Highest speech check in Rat Hole is something like 80, which is nothing for a tagged skill.
Same with the doctor check, maybe even less than that. Both easily doable by level 3 even without good natured.

Mate its RNG, you can pass any speech check with 10 in speech if you just try enough times.

No, speech, science, repair etc checks in Resurrection are 'hard', you either can do it or cannot.

NV is the only good fallout game.

Saying "hard" that way gives an odd impression. These are "hard checks" not in the sense that they are "difficult" but in the sense that they are "static and unchanging."
