Actually we have a good idea what causes it, autopsies of faggots show that nearly all(over 99%) have a distinct androgynization of some part of their central nervous system, usually the mid-brain. Someone probably already mentioned it in thread but the president-elect of the APA (not sitting president, that's a fake meme) at the time the DSM-III replaced the DSM-II (that is to say, at the time homosexuality was declassified as a mental disorder) came out as homosexual when he was 70 or so. You're right, the media loves a good underdog story and gays were a very easy pick for that. Similar thing happened with women too - women have not been oppressed throughout history, they had different roles and the woman of the house was a respected figure. Yet shit like muh wage gap is constantly being pushed onto us despite not even being true.

There's usually a pretty huge disconnect between media perception and that of normal people. We're told how oppressed and hard done by gays and trannies are, but when we meet them IRL they seem just fine, I've encountered far more anti-straight bigotry (deriding us as "breeders" etc) than anything from the other side (in real life, not internet). Most people truly don't care about gays if they just act like sane, rational adults and not dress their children up in dildo costumes and parade them through the streets.
