Germans don't call themselves Prussians. Pols don't call themselves Prussians. Russians, and the Baltic states don't call themselves Prussians. However, the monarchy did call itself 'Prussian'. Which should about sum up 'Prussian' to anyone who is paying attention. None of these people were the same. The Treaty of Versailles of 1919 transitioned a fair amount of the 'Prussian' nonsense into parties and social movements.

East Central Europe, from pre-plague 1200-1900 +/- was as much 'Prussia' as it was a whole shitstorm of things. Yes, at one point, it included Brandenburg. But at other points, it didn't. At still another point way before that, the Tuetonic Knights fought the Prussians, at the behest of the Pols no less, and on it went to be called Tuetonic for a while. Jump back to late-period, where Brandenburg left again, and you'll find the so called 'Germanic Prussians', fighting the Austrians, who allied with the Ottomans, and on and on it went.

He served in the Germany military in both world wars and was never a socialist of any sort not socialist nationalist or even national socialist. He was the closest thing you can get to being a libertarian facist. His book wasnt a novel it was his memoirs of ww1 he was one of Germanies most renown war heros during the war and his book isn't some sort of call for Prussian nationalism.

This is not that strange in the military. Right before I got out of the Marines, I was doing some reading in a little library they had in an office type area (I had to wait on the sir for something, so I was just in there for a long time). There was quite a bit of history and tactical literature, as you can imagine. I remember picking up a history of communism, and it told boatloads about how fucked up they were, and the kinds of shit they did. There wasn't anything on muh shoah. I guess if something is not real, it has no strategic value to keep around, at least not in a military library. Even as a Holla Forumslack at the time, I learned some new things there, like how they made sure to keep the natives of a country unskilled, and that they would evacuate all the "diverse" managers from an area they would lose…so if you ever wanted to take territory from them, you would have to manage it yourself, or everyone in Country X would starve–all this, in a service fully occupied by communism, that had repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Funny thing, that is.
