Is this the most overrated handheld of all time?

On one hand I consider the GBA and the NDS to be overly praised, on the other, I recognize that those two handhelds had the most game variety of any handheld systems ever. Sure, there's a lot of shit, but with that comes a lot of gems. The problem I have is that a lot of the games, even the "great" ones are really just 7/10s. Yeah, they have a lot of 7/10s, but sometimes it would be nice to play a game that's genuinely great. I guess I'm just not much of a handheld person.

and yes, android devices can emulate the DS perfectly so long as you have a powerful device. i use a GPD XD with the Drastic emulator personally.

I've never seen one, so I have no idea what I am or am not missing. The 3D I've seen so far is the cinema polarised horseshit, a polarised 3D screen a relative owns, and a friend's Rift. I've never seen anaglyph 3D (spent my childhood under the poverty rock). Got no idea how the 3DS's no-glasses, no headset 3D compares to what I've seen so far.

I don't ever use 3D for games because it not only wastes more power but its distracting which for a game like Mario Kart doesn't work well for me.

What a shit library, the Vita is so much better. The only thing it ever had going for it was ease of piracy, but the 3DS dethroned it in that area as well this year.

Monster hunter is okay, but it's really not for everyone.

3DS is a good system but I reckon nothing will replicate the behemoth that is the DS. I'm still finding titles for that system such as Etrian Odyssey II and Castlevania OoE.

Dark Spire, 7th Dragon, Shiren The Wanderer, Wizardry(if you know japanese), Orcs and Elves, Fighting Fantasy and Deep labyrinth if you want more real time action oriented games.

Trauma Center. Professor Layton, the world ends with you and even etrian odyssey wouldn't exist without the touch screen.

The NOMAD wasn't a bad handheld. It was precisely a Sega Genesis, complete with six face buttons for maximum compatibility with fightan games, a Player 2 controller port in the bottom, and a TV-Out port on the top. As your pic related, it even uses actual Sega Genesis carts - so you didn't have to buy a special adapter or "Nomad version" of games.

It was a piss poor PORTABLE, true, but as a handheld it was pretty fucking great.

Shit's literally a Monster Hunter machine.

Zero 4 had worse level design, a smaller number of great music tracks, and a story that felt like it existed just to tie up loose ends. Also the crafting system sucks and the elf rework is unnecessary.

I still love it, it is a Zero game after all, but a lot of the story felt uninspired to me. I'll be the first to say, though, that the ending sequence was awesome, the main boss theme was the best main boss theme in the series, and the controls are tight as usual.

Nah, the DS lite was cool. I played thousands of hours of Jump! Ultimate Stars over the course of 4+ years. There are other cool games, too, like: TWEWY and UMK3 collection that make me keep my DS.

Kind of the big problem with Sony's handhelds is that they were great for everything but what Sony actually wanted them to be used for.
