I find it hard to tell. I was living near clearwater florida and was about 17-19 at the time and it got me back into things a bit. I had grown up watching the scientologists destroy the place. I'm sure there we later co-opting attempts which were likely met with some success, but the initial idea was completely benign, in 4chan terms.

Two or so years ago, I was looking through my old backups and found the old 4chan craptastrophe flashes. Just for shits and giggles, I watched them again and a wave of unpleasant nostalgia washed over me. I'm an oldfag. I found 4chan in 2005. But I hadn't realized just how much things have changed. Things moved slowly, culture evolved. Even the chans are now mainstream.

I want my old internet back. There are too many normies shitting it up. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc are the absolute worst things that could have happened to our internet. We lost something - some je ne sais quoi - in the last twelve years. Like hipsters who bring their organic free-trade upcycled conflict-free overpriced vegan coffee shops and their fake BCGs causing a small town to lose its charm and become another San Fransisco, Portland, or Seattle.

Life was simpler back then. I was a freshman in high school. The internet was still young and smartphones weren't in everyone's pocket. There was still a barrier to entry that just isn't present, now. As a kid, I was an outcast - like I imagine most of you fags were or still are. Even though I didn't know your names, faces, or where you lived, you were my best friends. After school, I would get home to an empty house and I would have 4-6 uninterrupted hours. Those were the days.

If I had a time machine, I would redo the years 2005-2009 ad infinitum. Those were the best years for me. Even if it meant going through puberty again, redoing high school, watching my parents divorce, or my pets dying over and over. When I found those flash videos, I realized that something was missing. Something that had been slowly eroded.

for me it was the Zimmerman trials that solidified 4chan and later Holla Forums as my primary website of choice. Before that i supporte scientology and helped spread awareness but didnt browse the site.

Then GG happened and when it was connected to Digra i immediately went to the Holla Forums thread and i've been here since.

I still remember the night i accepted that HItler was the good guy. I was in a cold sweat, my eyes were wide open and i was holding my head looking down at the desk at nothing. I wanted to cry but i knew it would do nothing and my people didnt need tears they needed action. I remember for the first time in my life truly feeling shame in my country.
I could always justify Vietnam with "fuck the commies" and the ME war that i knew of as "fuck terrorists" but when i realized the Holocaust never happened i felt true shame in my Country.

I'm trying to write books that are red pilled at their core and with their message to try and influence people but i keep getting stuck on how to start the damn book. I know the middle parts but still.

Incredible how far it's come, and the amount of hidden knowledge that is available to us so easily. I think back to some of the more retarded shit I used to enjoy back on Holla Forums and compare it to now, where I sometimes feel as though I've sat in on a bilderburg meeting, or as in the case of some of the esoteric threads, have opened the ark of the covenant or something. There was one massive esoteric thread back in summer of 14 where I got genuinely frightened of what I was learning. It kept me up all night, no coffee or adderall or whatever, just my eyes glued to the screen. I remember seeing the sun rising and telling myself that I can't go that far down the rabbit hole. There are some things I will leave to mystery. I mean I felt the presence of divinity I swear. Couldn't get it outta my mind that whole day.

If you looked at it from a professional perspective, that whole trial was a trainwreck from start to finish. Awful attempts at prosecution ranging from misguided to extremely fucking lazy, witnesses who only made the defendant look better because they lied through their teeth (and got caught, easily), a media narrative so outlandish and inaccurate that even normalfags knew it was wrong. Top it off with everything like that first webm that was an everyday occurrence, and you have the "Trial of the Century" alright.

By the point, the damage had been done, so the advent of cancerous sites like KnowYourMeme all made ED look quaint by comparison.
