I like Peterson. He analyzes religions and mythologies without tipping fedoras or going full christfag. He has a particularly measured look at Christianity that goes down to its very fundamental roots and extracts the base message. He doesn't miss the trees for the forest, or the forest for the trees. In the tree-forest metaphor, he goes around looking at trees and seeing how they contribute to the forest as a whole.
He also cites Solzhenitsyn a lot, and if you've ever read any of Solzhenitsyn's works then it's simply impossible to not realize the role the Jews played in the gulag system and in Soviet oppression. When pushed about Solzhenitsyn's more anti-semitic works, you can tell that he's most definitely hiding his power level since he responds with "they haven't been translated into English properly so I can't comment, we'll leave it at that."
He's also influenced by Mircea Eliade, citing A History of Religious Ideas a lot (which is a damned good read). I think it's his main religious foundation, actually. This is important since Mircea Eliade was a fascist, being a supporter of the Iron Guard to the point where he specifically refused to denounce the Iron Guard until the post-war West threatened to send him back to Soviet Romania if he didn't.
