if you want to be immideately useful, get a skyguard on your lightning, we have nowhere near enough

Cert your medic gun at least three ranks, it's not that expensive and makes it much better. Aside from that you'll probably need to switch around. Last I noticed we lacked medics and infiltratorswe only need 1 or 2 per squad though. Engineer is more situational, while HA/LA are always useful.

Its already known that alpha and bravo are for WWEW exclusively, charlie and delta can be auxiliary if someone wishes to lead. If you want to retard wrangle say so to platoon lead so he can make you charlie or delta. Trust me, he will be more than happy to receive extra platoon leadership certs and get the useless helmet at the end.
Platoon leaders vary wildly, if someone new is here, he is usually too shy to talk out and call stuff. For the last couple of days I've seen squad members sending out more useful orders than the lead. Obviously we are not a zergfit with daddy issues and our leads don't have a god complex so i am not saying to not allow everyone to lead.
If you want to lead, call out attacks and retreats, set up beacons(call them out), start looking at the map and decide where to attack before the base gets capped.
AOD may be brainless, but at least squad leaders know how and (usually) at which wall to point them, if you don't lead the squad properly, you are making the squad even worse than aod, since its just brainless roaming without a pointer.

If you want to make a hive base with a way to get in/out easily and you have more than 1 engineer, have a second engineer use his Sunderer Spawn Building as a gate

That way friendly vehicles can enter/exit the built base easily while still keeping out enemy vehicles, and it keeps that side defended and there is no major gaps in your walls

Each Resource was spent to purchase a particular vehicle or consumable, and were generated in regular ticks and combat bonuses like the Nanites of today.
Alloys were mostly for Consumables, and I think maybe Flashes and Sunderers…
Polymers were for ESF, and maybe Lightnings, but I mostly remember they were for Air.
Catalyst were your Heavy Armor, Empire MBTs, might have also been used for Galaxies, Liberators, and Sunderers, and I think they were also the first resource attached to a MAX unit.

Auraxium was the first to be axed and for good reason.
It was originally the Freemium Currency you needed to grind in order to purchase new Weapons, with members getting a bonus or something like that…

Now, since ALL this was dependent on HOW MUCH TERRITORY a Faction owned, well, loosing factions ended up very easily getting warpgated due to the Snowball Effect; Winning Factions had more Resources coming in with which to pull more vehicles and grenades with…
Further more, when Auraxium was still in the mix, the dominate Faction (NC at the time) was the only one able to actually BUY new Weapons, resulting in the Lolpop and Lib-pocalipis, because no one COULD purchase Anti-air weapons to counter the fully kitted out enemy Air.

This is why MAXes now come with a single Burster in addition to an Anti-infantry and armor by default now.

Frankly, I don't see resource advantage as a problem.
It makes perfect sense, it's not less "unfair" then being disadvantaged when an enemy shoot you in the back.

That said, there is a way to lessen the dominance. If you lost a lot of territory or got wapgated for a while, your faction would organize a massive counter-offensive after a while. A big temporary resource boost that can be used to push back.

That description of the old resource system was spot on. The NC MAXes had the strongest guns at the time. Currently they're a bitch to fight indoors but they were even worse back then. At least now you can beat them at range. Rocket pods and missiles were even stronger back then too, which meant that the aforementioned snowball effect is a fucking understatement. Coincidentally most of the airchavs in the game were NC, who also made extensive use of the reverse maneuver when it was discovered, allowing them to RP as every Ace Combat protagonist ever combined. Throughout the alpha when unlockable vehicle weapons were added, and early into the beta, the game was either Skies of Auraxis: Chav Conglomerate, or Magrider Saronade and PPAnal. I'm pretty sure Dawn of Eldar was better balanced in comparison.

Best tank setup for TR?

From my experience with the prowler the best setup is something like this.

With these stats all I can say is AP is better.
Normal does extra splash damage but less direct damage.
HE does even more splash damage but even less direct damage.

You don't need splash damage if you're good. I'd say hitting flashes and infantry isn't even worth your time with a good secondary.

Now this is just speculation, but let's look at the stats.
You can see in the second image the resistances of Main Battle Tanks and Lightnings.

Main Battle Tanks all have 4000 health.
Lightnings have 3000 health.

If a Magrider fights you in your prowler because you're removing nigger VS, you can calculate the best main cannon to fight it with.

Normal has 63% damage on a Magrider's front armor and with the info from Planetside Wikia, Vehicle Armor and Damage's table of weapons vs. MBTs; it will reduce the damage by -10%, so 10% extra damage.
If it does 1000 damage, you'll have the damage resistance calculated first making it 1100 damage, then the 63% reduction calculated out to be 693 damage.

AP does 63% damage too, but the table shows it adds 15% extra damage instead, meaning it will go up from its base 1250 value to 1437.5 and the 63% damage reduction making it 905.625 damage.

So you will kill a Magrider in 5.772 shots with a normal cannon. 4000 divided by 693
And you will kill a Magrider in 4.417 shots with an AP cannon. 4000 divided by 905.625

Also the only secondary in the game worth buying is the Vulcan.

AP cannon, people try to say "Use HEAT its good against buildings and people!" They are correct, but not having better anti tank is a huge disadvantage in the Prowler. The only reason you should be using HEAT is if you are only going to be engaging sunderers, people and walls, AP does better damage to player build turrets, so it is better to engage a base with this from afar with fully certed lockdown.

If you are going to be using the prowler properly you are going to want to use engaging at a distance. To best do this you are going to want to either use the Gatekeeper or the Halberd, the Vulcan is pretty good at close range with you don't have time to deploy lockdown, your gunner can make up the damage to the enemy MBT that you are engaging.

You are probably going to want to get side armour, but that isn't very important. You instead might want to grab something more niche like mineguard if mines are a problem for you.

You are defiantly going to want to take the Rival Chassis, as the Prowler is already fast and does not need more speed.

I also can't stress enough, the only reason you should be using HEAT is if you can't aim. The splash isn't worth it. Also always aim for the ass.
MAX OUT LOCKDOWN! IT IS WORTH ALL THE CERTS YOU SPEND!

But you need anti-vehicle. If your tank can't beat other tanks of the same type you're hurting yourself and you're being countered by people who set up their tank properly.

Like says, if you use HEAT you'll be better against infantry but worse against vehicles.

Vulcan shots can also kill infantry, but I guess it is only close range and playing from a distance would be the safest. Also probably the best option because of lockdown.

Halberd is probably the smarter choice unless you like memes, then pick the Vulcan because BRRT

Is the grind in this game really as bad as it seems to be? I know you get 100 certs every rank until 15 but aside from that I only seem to get like 20-30 a session when I need a 1000 just to unlock a new gun? Am I just retarded and missing something?

You can do it all the time if you get the 50% off vehicles bonus from your faction capturing continents

You can do it half as much if you don't have that, so maybe a bit of running around if you're bad - no running around at all if you stay alive long enough to generate enough resources for another tank when you buy one and start removing

It doesn't matter where you aim, all the damage depends on where you are relative to the other player when it hits. Considering you're probably locked down in a Prowler far away from your opponent, don't worry about positioning or shot placement. Anchor down and start blasting.

I was flying around like a dumbass in VR training trying out Mosquito shit and god damn, is the dogfighting air frame the only one that does anything? The racer chassis literally increased my top speed from ~330 to ~350, and you still can't properly hover with the hover one.

Certing the mosquito just seems highly dumb to me after actually taking the time to try it out.

The dogfighting frame doesn't change the pitch rate, which is what you need for dogfighting. So instead you get the hover frame or the racer frame.
