Cannot visit a single website without obvious Gearbox tier viral marketing for We Happy Few
Its reached the point they are trying to con rubes that its not a early access, procedurally generated survival crafting sandbox game with a promise to "m-maybe add story later, swer on me maam" with a trailer they promise is for a 'game like bioshock infinite xD!"
This is fucking shameless and they are even trying it here.
Is this the worst attempt at viral marketing since 'The Forest'?
Jayden Foster
I bet this thread is marketing too.
Mason Cox
who the fuck is we happy few?
Bentley Thomas
I don't mind We Happy Few, but that they're asking me to pay $30 for a game that isn't finished yet is fucking insane.
Elijah Anderson
Huh?
Ublock origin:
I can count the number of ads I've seen on one hand.
Alexander Hall
Pay for early access to a game which is just half-life 2 without aliens and instead its just city 17
Daniel Martin
Okay thanks for the blog update
Hudson Gray
I only go to Holla Forums The fuck shit holes you going to

I'm starting to wonder if We Happy Few was supposed to be a linear shooter, but then someone told them that they can't release a single player shooter or they realised they weren't able to make one and just made a survival game instead.
I mean this has been in the works for a really long time, and the content is… Very limited. The beginning clashes so much with the rest of the game that it's really hard not to wonder what the fuck happened during the development
Ayden Lopez
you're probably correct but I would have imagined that it was down to whoever's in charge to change it like bioshock infinite did where they had to redesign the whole game from scratch
Isaiah Cox
I think you have it backwards, actually. I was reading up on the development and the devs appear to have a pretty clear concept, but the trailer totally betrays it. It seems like the first few minutes (aka the trailer) was just meant to set up the premise and then throw the player into a survival game with a unique setting. It's basically a semi-interactive fmv. It doesn't seem like story was meant to be the focus. Everyone has gotten the wrong idea and it's not the dev's fault. It looks like they just want to make a procedurally generated roguelike, with the setting just there in the background for atmosphere. Environmental (and some quest) storytelling at most, not a full on adventure game?
I mean, the game appears to just be badly marketed and falsely hyped up, but I could be wrong. Wait until the full game, I guess?

This guy is right:
Their intention was always for it to be a survival game. Their early trailers was of some guy trying to blend into a world gone mad, and every single gameplay trailer was the guy breaking into homes, stealing food, pretending to be alright and avoiding overdosing on Joy.
The trailer just threw everyone off-guard.

I thought the early access was supposed to test the mechanics and iron out bugs. The end product will have the same gameplay but add a story on top. Only a fag would think "oh wow this looks like Bioshock Infinite, it must be a shootan game, I want it", especially considering how fucking shit all Bioshock games are. Why would you be excited? Dumb fucking cunts.
Brody Nelson
How about you take your shit game and fuck off to somewhere to gives a damn, you cancerous twat.
Ayden Taylor
First time I've heard of it. Hopefully the last, too.
Jace Jackson
what fucking sites are you even visiting you cancerous retard? Or do you not have an adblocker like a sub-80 iq idiot?

I've never even fucking heard of it. I've never heard of The Forest, either. At least, I don't have any recollection of it.
Robert Morris
Granted it's the only example of good fps roguelike I know.
Luis Sanchez
What the fuck even is We Happy Few? I've heard of it but the name sounds so gay I can't be bothered to look it up.

Yeah but Ziggurat didn't have survival elements. I know of only ONE procedurally generated survival game that was any good and that's Don't Starve.
Jeremiah Wilson

Grayson Gomez
I wouldn't mind the game if it wasn't for the fact that its a fucking survival game. Who honestly still likes those?
Michael Powell
Why not?
Luis Nelson
who fucking cares nigger what the fuck are you gonna do about it
Gabriel Nelson

James Diaz
Don't even compare this shit to HL2, that game had actually good writing and an interesting premise.
Christopher Adams
There is early access.
Its a wannabe The Forest except with the most bugged stealth mechanics and no story to pursue.
Justin Turner
yeah… really intresting
Jaxon Price
I could say the same about We Happy Few, it's essentially just soma from Brave New World made into the premise of a game.

Fallout 4 was worst. There was always several Fallout 4 threads up at all times with shills shilling the game, while anons got more and more pissed off. Seriously, usually there were 2 or 3 Fallout 4 themed threads on the catalog at all times and Fallout 4 made it into unrelated threads. It got to the point that any non-general Fallout 4 thread was allowed to have unspoilered porn posted and spammed in it.
Then miraculously, a week and a half after Fallout 4 came out the discussion died instantly
