Go fight a dragon at level 20, do some challenge hunt quests, go kill cyclopes.
Also play a more fun class if the one you're using feels too easy/boring in combat. My favourite is Warrior, personally. Assassin makes big bosses 2ez and boring for me, sorcerors take too long to cast for me.
Oh, and Mystic Knight is also fun, you cast enchants on your shield that turns the game into a bullet hell whenever you "perfect block" an attack (hitting it just in time, like DaS parries).

Bayonetta is pure shit. It's generic QTE button mashing bullshit that constantly interrupts the gameplay for stupid pointless cutscenes that aren't even animated half the time and all of the retarded SJW grrrrrrl power crap makes me cringe.

Deadly Premonition is quite possibly the worst game I have ever played in my life. Everything about this game is the cheapest, clunkiest, ugliest garbage I have ever seen, I don't even know where to start and if I start ranting about this piece of shit I'd be here for hours. Even the story that Holla Forums praises is a lolsorandumb embarrassing twin peaks ripoff.

Shadow of the Colossus is incredibly boring, piss easy, pretentious ass shit for 3deep5u hipsters. It's just a collection of shitty climbing puzzles that move around, it's nearly impossible to lose a fight and it probably needs to be that disgustingly casual because it has utterly atrocious framerate and bloom so horrible it will burn your eyes.

Nier was the worst game I've ever played before Deadly Premonition took clunkiness and ugliness to new heights. But Nier somehow manages to be even more tedious than Deadly Premonition to the point I got sick of the stupid grindy quests and it's the only of these games I couldn't even finish. Oh the story you ask? I don't give a fuck, it's predictable "sad shit is gonna happen", let me guess, the daughter dies or some bullshit, boo fucking hoo.

Dragon's Dogma may be highly overrated weebshit, but your thread is still shit.

It started out as literally Dragon's Dogma with dumb MMO "features" tacked on, but they've since improved those to actually make it fun.
Initially, boss battles were pretty shit because after taking a certain amount of damage, every boss would enter "rage mode" where it would get like 99% damage reduction, and the only way to pull it out of this mode was to sit on its back spamming the "pull" button to wear down its stamina bar (or sitting around waiting for glowy bits to appear on its body, then attacking them for a miniscule amount of stamina damage). After that bar wears out, it falls over and you HIT THE WEAKSPOT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE. Then it gets back up and goes straight back into rage mode. Also, a lot of the world quests (randomized "big" quests in each zone, usually big bosses or specific enemy in a dungeon) on release sucked ass, and all but the basic 4 classes were actually locked out of new players until they got to a certain (usually later-game) area and did a specific quest to unlock the class (warrior needed you to grind to fucking level 46 just to unlock it, and then you're back at level 0 as a warrior when you switch).

Now, the boss "rage mode" thing is an actually fun mechanic, since there are plenty of ways to lower stamina bar now (certain spells/attacks build up a separate meter that, when full, stuns the boss and allows ALL attacks to directly damage stamina meter, meaning no more "pull" mashing on classes that are shit at that), bosses are slightly easier to stun with "high stun" attacks (making warrior fun as fuck), there's better, more interesting world quests now, and all classes are unlocked from the start, plus you no longer need to do dumb "missions" (like "kill 40 of this rarely spawning enemy") to unlock level 6 skills (where most skills get actually good).
Basically, it actually feels somewhat original now, a nice continuation of Dragon's Dogma-like gameplay.

Those games (minus bayonetta) are loved because of a few specific things that no other game has quite like it, mainly atmosphere (which includes world/level design, sound design, etc.).
Some people (myself included) really like novel-feeling games (and other media too, really), even if it has plenty of flaws (when people don't acknowledge flaws, though, that can be a problem).
It's like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; it's shit in almost every way, but people love it (and I love it) because it has something that nothing else seems to have (mainly Araki's weird-ass writing and artstyles).

Hell, most games that Holla Forums tends to love are flaw-ridden, mid/low-budget games that are simply unique or novel.

I hated dragon's dogma at first. Dropped it after 7 hours. For some reason, I really want to give it another chance. Now that I know what to expect, and after watching a bunch of gameplay, it looks kind of nice. I'm not at my PC right now, so my only choice is to sit around watching playthroughs and wishing I could give it a go.

The mistake people make with Dragon's Dogma is comparing it to the false expectation Holla Forums builds. They'll pitch it to you like it's going to be this grand adventure with sprawling areas, massive exploration and bombastic grandiosity. What Dragon's Dogma really seems to be, in reality, is a love letter hybrid between old-school dungeon crawlers, third person action games, and shadow of the colossus. Expect slow, methodical, and atmospheric comfy travels in which you lug around your cute loli healer, organize items, and have little road trips when you're reaching a new area. Expect to do some dungeon crawling, or to spend 20 minutes organizing your inventory, making healing items and selling shit to vendors. It seems like a game that demands your attention just as much as Dark Souls, but in different ways, which is [I think] the reason they're compared so often. I didn't really "get it" my first time around, just like my first time with DS. And I don't think many people will "get it" until they give themselves some time to adjust expectations.

Since there seem to be quite a few good DD players in this thread i ask for help:
First playthrough, i'm level 45. Was playing as assassin but felt like my damage was shit so i switched for warrior to try something new out, haven't quite gotten used to the 30 minute sword swings but i'm getting there
I'm at the end of the main quest, i went beyond the wall to the dragon lair but halfway through in the are with harpies+fire spewing dogs i was getting my ass handed to me so i bolted
I tried killing the drake in devilfire grove like 6 times now but the fucker always flies away even though i do nothing but hack away at his wings
Do i need to acquire better gear? i'm wearing that blue set of knight armor and a lvl3 flamberge

You gotta burn his wings so that he doesn't fly, you can do that by throwing oil then a firebomb at his wings.
Warrior is pretty neat but Assassin should do way, way more damage, be sure to use your arc of deliverance though.
Also, you get the best greatsword if you do the escort quest for some random guard in that place where you first get your pawn, don't remember his name though. You have to gift him foreign knifes I think
