I can give you insight. I live in a culturally enriched area and I have to do a lot of shopping at all types of stores for my job. I often shop during the day when lots of moms with small children are in stores. I frequently hear white moms trying to teach or quiz their kids while in stores, asking them to add or subtract prices, asking what color things are, asking their kids to read or spell words. I hear chatter like this frequently. Hispanic parents do this too, but to a lesser extent, and more in Spanish. Black moms? I have NEVER heard a black mom try to teach their small child ANYTHING while out shopping. All they do is scold their kids and act like their kids are a burden, or they completely ignore them and stay on their phone as the kids cry and run rampant. There is no such thing as white privilege, only black mom disadvantage.
