How do peace offers in EU3 work? I attacked Aragon, who was junior partner of Blobhemia, took a core I had, sent a peace offer for it even though it said Impossible, and they accepted.
They work the same as Paradox developers, not at all.
These fucking bastards took out 2 of my most expensive ships and killed 642 of my finest semen. I've decided to negotiate with them because of their great name.
So tell me /gsg/, what are some recommended GSGs/4Xs in space?
Hard mode, name something that isn't Aurora, space empires, or Distant Worlds.
Stellaris
:^)
(^:
I like how their recent dev diary was basically "lol idk, buy our DLC plz".
Link plz
Weird that they aren't churning out cut content as DLC yet. Seems they actually just didn't give a fuck instead of being plain greedy.
I don't know, Distant Worlds Universe?
What is the difference between Stellaris and Distant Worlds Universe?
Distant Worlds is a typical 4X game with some in-depth systems like the private sector.
Stellaris is a modern Paradox map painter in spess.
What is the difference between 4x and grand strategy?
4x is often more abstract, where as GS goes into a lot of details.
It's the difference between the ways populations are handled in Civilization, and Victoria 2.
GSG is a marketing term for a certain sort of strategy game.
4X games follow the four Ex formula for most part.
doesn't have any idea of what he is talking about.
I have yet to find a grand strategy game that does not follow the 4x formula tho. Are they basically the same thing?
Maybe. Usually gsg is used to diffentriate games set in history (fake or real) from normal 4x games, but then some space games like Distant Worlds get called grand strategies for reasons.
For most part, games /gsg/ likes are called gsgs and games disliked are called 4X. Not that 4X games are bad but the overt focus eXpansion and eXtermination are frowned at in historical strategy games.
The only grand strategy game I've played is CK2, and what I like most about it is managing my dynasty, forming political alliances and having children. I guess it's more about the people and civilization sim than the grand strategy part.
Are there any other grand strategy games that do this stuff or is there another genre I should look at?
I'd define GS as where the world is set with established nations, wherein historical accuracy (or if a fictional setting, believability) is prioritized over having a level playing field, whereas in a 4X the world is generally empty and randomized, and a bunch of factions on even footing must expand and claim the game world. Balance is important and if the game is "historic" the historic elements are cosmetic only.
I would say that the dynamics of a 4X are closer to an RTS overall. Grand Strategy is really its own thing, in fact you could consider it to fall under the category of simulators rather than strategy games.
CKII+ or HIP?
...
what about /gsg/ games general
I have an i7 4790k, 8gb ram and GTX 780, but Victoria 2 runs like shit on the max speed. I don't remember it running like a slideshow when I played a year ago, It runs even worse with HPM. What gives?
The Sims
HIP is more modular and slightly less intrusive than CK2+
Make sure you are not running the game with your Intel HD. Go in the bios and disable it if you have to.
How do I even begin getting into Darkest Hour? I've played maybe half an hour of CK2 with a friend and that's it as far as GSG's go. Is it just a matter of throwing myself at the wall enough until a brick or two finally falls out?
Yes. You can also take a look at the DH manual for some general info. Don't know where you can download it though
There is literally a link in the OP. Though it is 1.3. torrentz.eu
Excuse me, 1.03 and 1.04.
I'm fairly sure he meant the manual.
GOG versions always come with manuals and such. You can also google it and will get immediately results.
GSGs boil down to roleplaying as something, be it a ruler or a country. Sure, you can play it like a 4X and just blob, but you'll get laughed at by other GSG players, as you're missing the whole point of the simulation, and you'll probably get bored soon enough.
Speaking of this, I know the autodeploy of HOI3 is retarded, but is it possible to play a game with AI everything except a Corps under your command?
Why do these threads take so long to appear? Most generals have a thread going when the old one is about to 404.
Because it is probably a single guy making them most of the time and everyone else is just waiting? Are you going to do die if you can't spam in a thread? Hell I didn't even notice when the old thread and searched for a new one until yesterday.
I was shocked when /gsg/ disappeared for a while because I view this thread as a sort of canary in the coal mine. If even the GSG sperges don't post anymore, Holla Forums is truly ded.
Make a thread yourself then, sperg.
;^)
This, mostly.
progress in my game to make the middle east christian.
Should I help the Greek Moors take over Mali?
Should I drive the muslims out of the steppes too?
Should I just focus on keeping my already big empire from crumbling into revolts and petty plots?
I'd go for the third option if I were you, but I'm not exactly an expert.
You have enough game time to do all three
:^)
Is your ruler not Orthodox?
he is iconoclast. it was common in byzzie
The only 4x games I've played and enjoyed are Dominions 4 and Age of Wonders 3, should I do it?
play the previous age of wonders instead
1, 2, Shadow Magic or all three?
My empire is gaining traction. I found an alien race and have allied with it, but if my game gets any laggier, I'm going to enslave their asses. They are swamp seaweed dog people I think.
Fuck.
So gsg is 4X+autism?
Am I just dumb for being bad at strategy games?
Unless you want to play the campaigns, Shadow Magic
Are there any games like Victoria 2 not made by Paradox?
Yes.
git gud
Here's my Austria so far.
Current plans:
- Add Sinai to my holdings in the Holy Land and build canal
- Ally with France once their left bank thing wears off
- Take Hohenzollern from Prussia so the NGF won't have a core there
- Become A-H
- Become the USGA
I'm hoping after one war with Prussia I can get a friendship with them going when they become NGF and just prevent the German Empire from happening. Once A-L gets a GE core they'll hate France forever so I should be in the clear either way.
The Danubian Federation gets Poles as an accepted culture so blobbing into Russia might be an option. It'd look horrible but there'd be lots of accepted pops.
Aside from that I may blob further into the Ottomans and possibly save edit their capital over to Ankara if they happen to become Turkey, which would allow recovery of Constantinople.
I'll probably avoid colonizing stuff.
Thoughts?
r8 & h8
I had to start over because some stupid mod fucked my save up. Don't use complete colonial control unless the author stops being a faggot.
You should take Eastern Switzerland if you can. If you didn't want to buddy up with the NGF I would tell you take Silesia but if you're going to expand into the Balkans I guess that's okay.
It should move automatically if the provinces around it are controlled by other countries.
Looks like your game went to shit since the last time you posted. Also you better take Alexandria soon
Well after getting France's Mediterranean coast and some provinces from Austria, everyone decided to join a coalition against me, attacking the HRE sure is a pain in the ass. Even fucking Iraq and some shitholes in the middle east joined as well.
I'm waiting for things to cool down a bit before continuing with my path of conquest. I'm waiting for Iraq to guarantee/ally one of the shitty kebab provinces in the Arabian Peninsula since they don't hate me yet, they will learn to. that way I can bypass that stupid coalition and take Alexandria and hopefully Tripoli and Lybia. Also gotta kick Spain out of Italy, they unexpectedly inherited Naples a few years ago.
After that comes Rome, I kinda don't wanna blob way too much and form the whole roman empire with its ~50AC borders, that'd make for a very bland and boring game, gotta let France, GB and Spain live a bit more until they can actually pose a challenge.
Almost there
Byzanboo/10
...
I'm the world's leading exporter in salt, so it's pretty accurate.
So NGF hates me anyways and went to war. Me and France kicked its ass and I used the NGF-forming-free-people CB to liberate Silesia, then found that because I'm South German and Silesia is Polish with German cores, I have a permanent annexation CB on them. Same for Posen and Pomerelia.
So the new plan is to Free People those states from the NGF, then annex them, and also take Masovia, West Galicia, and Bessarabia from Russia.
I don't know what the fuck to do about the Balkans, but I don't like the way Serbia's protruding into my borders. Maybe I'll blob down to Greece's proper border and liberate Greece.
And done. Should I retake Constantinople, or retake it and give it to Greece?
Give it to Greece along with western Anatolia. Also, fix that Swiss border somehow
Not a whole lot I can do about Switzerland without violating Swiss neutrality and annexing the whole thing, or cheating a few provinces over for a prettier border, or letting Italy have some of my rightful clay. But I'll set to taking back eastern Greek clay and consoling them over to Greece once taken.
Kind of annoying, Greece tried to take one of them and I joined in their war, helped kick Turkey's ass, and they white peaced out. I might go back a few saves and try it again.
Here's how the western border would look with Switzerland divvied up between France and the DF (and if France retook Savoy), as best as HPM's map permits.
...
Looks pretty good. Switzerland is a pointless country any way
So whats going on with stellaris?
Everybody was talking about it and playing it, then HoI4 came and everyone forgot about it.
A shame because atleast stellaris did some things right.
Stellaris has a lot of problems going for it.
Never said it was a perfect game, but it is better than HoI4.
It's not better by any means, but the fact that every game of Stellaris feels like the same thing is what's holding it back the most (other than Johan of course). It's like every other 4X out there, except it's real-time with a pause button.
So, how do I go about actually installing CK2 from the files in the OP? Is there a ready list of steps somewhere, or is it just whatever readme's are in the folders?
Blobbed all the way to the Atlantic via Morocco and also took some chunks owned by Milan and the Papists, the game kinda loses its grace once you blob way too much and become an unstoppable force of conquest. Does this happen to you guys? There's no challenge, no rivals, nobody to tell you 'nu-uh you can't blob in that direction!'
The game becomes truly bland, I'm making 6 gorillion shekels a month too.
Any tips to prevent this to happen? I mean the boredom and the lack of challenge, this is the first time I legitimately blob this much (Excluding Russia, but most of my provinces were backwater shitholes anyways.) I thought about reverting back to an earlier save from back when I finished nabbing Alexandria, but it ain't the same. This is truly how Dr. Manhattan must feel.
The retarded AI doesn't help much either, not even with the hardest difficulty.
Anyone?
reminder to report and ignore shitposting
I moved all of the DLC and update files into the relevant directories and merged them, and then ran the activator, but now when I go to load the game from the main exe the launcher asks for me to log in, and if I click play it crashes upon "loading flags"
The readme included in the crack folder doesn't mention anything about a log in.
Alright, after running the activator again, it seems to be working. Let's hope nothing else happens to it.
If you get that problem again then delete your flag cache, that might help.
Documents → Paradox Interactive →Crusader Kings II → gfx and delete all flags in there.
Cheers mate.
This is called a hype wave. It's made by marketing your game toward casuals and never ever lasts long. Paradox took the opportunity and extended it with HOI4, taking the Stellaris crowd there to buy another game.
Can anyone have a link to a CK2 remove India mod?
just google those exact words
nexusmods.com
Thanks
Stellaris still isn't that accessible to casuals while also being boring as fuck and devoid of depth to non-casuals.
Are there any grand strategy games on linux?
The PSU on my windows machine broke and I can't get a replacement for a while.
Hungary or any others willing to sub for Italy this Sunday?
Are there any other 4X, GS, or war games with the multiplayer turn system that Dominions 4 has?
Can anyone post the EU4 to V2 1.0A converter?
I can't log in
Learning how the war goals work(or at least trying to). I remember a popup telling me about this when I started this game, but it still surprised me.
What does discipline do in eu3?
What is the country tag for Aceh in eu3?
Jesus Christ, why is the music in CK2 so raucous, and loud by default? Where are the comfy medieval tunes I was expecting?
Looks like the mafia of peace broke his knee caps.
I seriously want to know, is it only a few tracks that are this loud and 'aggressive' or is the entire soundtrack like that? If it is, I'm just going to turn it off and listen to my own stuff.
I just wanted some comfy medieval-esque tunes.
well since these threads are basically dick measuring competitions ill show my best run yet

Central power steamroll and kebab removal incoming, time to Make Istanbul Byzantium Again™. Are there any mods that handle the interwar period? The Grand Campaign mod is kind of a broken mess.
How did you learn to play this game?
How autistic are you?
Is it worth it?
DH is like the only grand strat with a decent tutorial

Best EU 4 mods bros? There's nothing for EU 4 in the archive

Anyone playing/has played Alpha Centauri? Looks pretty cool, but I'm having a hard time getting into. Any sharing of advice and stories is appreciated.

What was the steam workshop downloader site? I want to play CK2, but I need my blue rings around dukes and can't be arsed to either make that mod myself or install steam.
Austria starts with that Italian land you retard.
It's probably one of the shitty music DLCs
People don't like EU4 much.
Sure, it's called play a better game pleb

Will there be a MP game today?
There's a reason.
It's tomorrow
Right. I thought it was Sunday. Silly me.
Why did I bother playing this mod again. Vanilla would have been more fun.
The game got laggy and now I must kill me furry swampy dog ally. I'm taking over their ships that are in my systems first. Hopefully word won't reach back to their homeworld quite yet.
Show that industry tab
This tab?
My rock hard cock cannot take any more thoughts of torture swamp dog people. Purging xenos is the greatest fetish a man can have. Ave Imperator.
Why aren't you building anything?
I have everything I need. I'm keeping myself at a great disadvantage in this game, so I will not overpower myself. I like to think of it as a reward for when you slaughter an alien race with duct tape, a shitty nuclear engine, and a trash can hull.
It's a damage modifier. 100% is base value so if you had 125% discipline that means the multiplier is 1.25
Didn't want to ask this on halfchan /gsg/ because they're currently having a steamgroup drama seizure.
I know there's a CK2 loli fucking mod out there somewhere, where the fuck is it?
Probably won't be able to make it for the MP today. Here's the save if you guys want to host on your own.
...
...
I suggest MEIOU and Taxes. Make absolutely sure that you play the latest version, as the older ones were tedious, broken crap, whereas they pulled their shit together inthe last one. It raises the difficulty significantly, adds new events, provinces, and countries, and the mechanics are more balanced and a little less retarded than before. It's not ideal, but it probably has the most content.
If you want to play a different time period, try Extended timeline, but be aware that it lacks appropriate flavour and it's unbalanced as fuck, especially with the roman dates (if you think Prussians are space marines in the vanilla, just wait for the fucking immortal mudshits during the rise of islam).
what would happen to the HRE, historically speaking, if the orthodox church would mend the schism?
of course they'd still call themselves the HRE if they stayed catholics, but what if they accepted orthodoxy? They'd have to accept the authority of the emperor in the east. What would they be named, if they didn't break apart?
The Roman Empire, duh. Blood of Kaisers courses through their veins.
So, am I allowed to post about football manager in /gsg/ finally?
are mods worth it?
go for it, theres no /sp/ on Holla Forums
Regular host here. I will be able to host but I might be late. It depends how fast I can get home.
Here is my loot from my first attack. Enemy homeworld doesn't know what happened yet, so I'm still in the clear. I got two of the striker class.
Keep us posted in the discord.
Alien homeworld invasion has begun. I'm boarding all of their ships closest to the jump gate leading to one of my colonies. My fleets will remain in the colonies system until the boarding action is complete. I'd rather not send missiles to a ship covered in my soldiers. They have superior numbers with their missile launchers, but I have the superior amount of ships. While I'm boarding the ships at the gate, I'm sending 40 battalions of infantry to take over their homeworld. They have another fleet I have to worry about on the other side of the system guarding another jump gate.
Made it. Hosting vanilla for now. If we don't have enough players, we'll do something else.

Marines are taking a pounding, but they are taking over the ships. I'd say about 15,000 marines were killed out of the 170,000. Most of them haven't even broken through the hulls of their assigned ships yet, so the number will be rising.
Ussr here trying to get some stuff sorted gimme 15-20 mins
Had to make some changes to config so if you couldn't join, try again. We have players now.
USA here, I won't be able to play this session due to no electricity at home, unless it comes back real soon.
Only 4 of us showed up so we called it off for today. Even if you guys showed up it'd still only be 6 out of 10
Are we ever going to finish this game?
Once France gets his computer problems settled I'm sure we'll be able to play much more frequently.
We were missing more players than France.
USA shows up regularly, today was a fluke. USSR was just late. I text Spain whenever the game is happening so he shows up. France is having GPU problems. Those 4 and us who showed up make the 8 most important powers who will all be able to show up reliably once France gets his stuff sorted.
Ever had better be here next week.
USA here, things are normal now. Are we playing anything?
This happened in 20 seconds. My landing force was wiped out in 5 seconds. 40 battalions wiped off their planet. My Vanquisher class Heavy Battlecruisers decided not to set up their shields and two died because of it. So much red. I think I underestimated their anti-missile defenses. I may have to pull out, but that would give the enemy opportunity to enter my controlled systems.
Not today.
Didn't have computer problems, but had guests to entertain.
I probably won't be able to make the next two, the next two Sundays are terrible for me, would it be possible to do something on a Saturday? Or another day?
Well that bodes even better for the future.
We could probably work something out.
Which nation are you?
The most important one tovarisch
A nu
That would be fine with me but we'd have to get everyone to agree with it.
how do i run meiou and taxes for eu4 and not get 1 day = 5 seconds
How do these two traits work? Even the wiki is vague about it.
Upgrade your computer. Paradox doesn't give a shit about performance so there is no reason to assume modders would either. Unless it's a performance mod, but those usually just remove meaningless content.
Paradox games are like Dwarf Fortress in that it will rape your CPU no matter what.

Could we get some yays/nays for Saturday 20:00 UTC?
Dwarf fortress is much more efficient than any paradox /gsg/ made post-vicky2
I would be fine with Saturdays at the usual time
>after a lot of sweat and a bit of save-scuming because roll dice system is bollocks tbh
USA here, yay for saturdays.
UK here. Yay for Saturdays. I'm no longer working where I was so my Saturdays are generally free now.
I've been playing GSGs for many years now, and byzantium playthroughs never stop being fun no matter which game I pick. So many places to reconquer, so many old grudges to settle, not to mention healing the schism.
Totaly agree
I have like 300? Hours in CK 2, 200 of them at least have been. Invested in making byzantiun great again.
My mate got sick snd tired of seeing the purple blob expandnon stop that he doesnt wanna play with me if i pick them.
Vikings are also fun, especially when you kidnap the pope.
Byzantium gives good feels when playing.

Best way to fuck the turdroaches early on (if you get DW'd without a strong navy) is to cut them off from yurop. On the first war one should quickly try to take over edirne and let your allies/vassals do the dirty work. Remember to enable the 'friendlies can join' tickbox or whatever it's called and have your doomstack+allies stationed in Constantinople at all times. One huge kebab murderstack might try to cross the Bosporus (should be around 30~40k) if they do so in edirne, quickly move your army there, yours should arrive a day earlier, giving kebab the strait crossing malus and they're so fucking stupidly OP that sometimes they'll beat the shit outta you even if you're nearly 40k as well.
Pray the AI isn't stupid, as sometimes your besieging allies won't come closer after you engage the turks who crossed the strait, efficiently killing your only army.
After you win, grab as much land as you can, it usually takes me 2-3 wars in order to expel the fuckers outta the balkans.
Also, it might help allying Serbia, Wallachia and either Hungary or Poland; I think Poland is the better candidate since they're fuckhuge and they tend to fall into a personal union with Lithuania very early on. Both Serbia and Wallachia will immediately accept the alliance request. And if all else fails, declare war on Serbia (no CB) and force vassalize them, nobody will give a flying fuck and no coalitions will be made against you.
Also also, some stuff people might overlook is alliances with the small Greek islands, try to ally then vassalize the Knights of Malta Rhodes and Cyprus, it will save you from stupid annoying wars against the Mamelukes. Ally the Mamelukes as well, they're pretty handy and expendable since they're huge (DO NOT give them land after any offensive wars, you'll be removing that kebab after killing the turks)

burple is cancer
Is Distant Worlds fun?
I've never played any ageod games. Are they grand strat? How do they stack up against parashit? How is Wars of Napoleon, specifically?
They go into more detail with battle and armies, are more railroaded, and don't have as wide a scope either geographically or chronologically, usually covering only a single war. Some would argue they aren't grand strategy as the player has no control over economy or society, only military, but we left that elitist faggotry over at halfchan.
This AAR was pretty good and explains some mechanics:
forum.paradoxplaza.com
It's ok. I can only play it once in a blue moon because of how long games last I get really burnt out on it after it ends.
Yes, the UI and the AI mod are must haves
how does Paradox's Stellaris compare to its inspiration Distant Worlds
Looks fun, great AAR. Is there any major difference between the titles? Which one is considered the best.
I booted HoI3 a few times today. I looked around the map and exited the game. I've tried a few scenarios over the past few days but my interest always drops. I could play EU3 but HoI3 spoiled me with its detailed combat mechanics. I can't bring myself to play with EU3's oversimplified system. Is there a game which combines HoI3's depth with EU3's scope?
Stellaris is boring and tedious and about as deep as a puddle.
Any nations that /gsg/ doesn't play as or not very much? I want to try something new
I never play as Muslim countries or Allies/Comintern because I don't like playing as the bad guys.
Damn, I didn't count on Stannis actually winning this seventh (?) attempt at taking the throne during which I stole independence. The Rhollo lich is propably going to move on the titles my character's great grandfather stole after Stannis lost to the Lannisters for the first time.
The lad has been blind for six decades at least.

Eh, playing the same countries gets bland especially CK2 where country doesn't matter much. And the ASOIAF mod is only one that isn't completely broken with a passable fictional setting.
Are there zombies and dragons?
Yes. Though the ice zombie invasion seems to bug out most of the time.
It's not too bad, but not too good either. So far it looks like it might (!) become a good game after they shit out the 20 obligatory DLCs. It has potential, but who knows if it'll use it
Viking genocide best day of my life.
If you want a challenge, try eradicating all of Ragnar's spawn. Not just the houses, but every last character that is in any way related by blood, even those who only passed through women
Pic related
I've never understood this mentality. It's fun to play the villain.
Every nation has been done quite a bit in Vicky 2 since there's only two start dates and they're mostly the same as far as country selection goes.
Europa and CK2 have some nations that show up in later start dates that dont get a lot of attention due to their later start date limiting the window of game time, so anything that's exclusive to a start date more than 50 or so years from the standard start date is going to be rather sparsely played. Personally I enjoy playing the Ottomans in CK2 at the 1337 start date. That only gives you a little over 100 years to play but that makes it more of an interesting challenge and limits the extent to which you can blob. I'd imagine the Hansa in CK2 are also not as frequently played due to their appearance being around a 1200 start date. As for Europa, most of the nations that would be available at later start dates can be formed from some other nation at an earlier start date, so that makes uncommon nations less immediately obvious than uncommon CK2 polities. I would assume African and Southeast Asian countries aren't played too often because both of those seem pretty boring.
So we've got USSR
UK/USA and
Which country are you?

In addition to the majors it would be good to hear from Goulash boy, the Toronto terror, and our surprisingly useful Spanish ally.

I didnt notice Endall earlier in the thread.
So the only "majors" we still need confirmation from are Italy and Japan.
The quality of HOI3 goes way up once you undo the railroad aspects of vanilla
Italy and Germany were like Pinky and the Brain.

Why? Why do they continue to act like faggots? If they really hated what they were doing, they would tear the forum apart. Stop buying games from them. Anything but send them a red X.
I don't feel like a winner.
hey mate
I played aurora for some time myself but there are some things that annoy the shit out of me.
for example the game pauses whenever a research lab finishes building.
how do you cope with that shit?
You are talking to a man who spent 3 fucking days playing this game going at 5 seconds a turn. There is no coping. At least I got results. I now have swamp dog sex slaves.
I have spent the last few hours creating the ideal global borders. Find a flaw, I dare you.

Which do I try to get to know better- EU4 or EU3?
I feel like I've gotten to know enough EU3 to try a long campaign, but was wondering if EU4 had finally come together and if it was time to get to know it.
Steam used to have a lot, mostly junk. They can be downloaded through sites without using the service.
If you like the map you can try H.I.P. (if anyone has the link) it used to have a massive pack that included the much reviled VIET events set; which regardless added bonuses to Finnish animist nations.

lolno
I thought the factions DLC finally gave it EU3's depth?
For how long do we keep having to hear about EU4? It's inferior to EU3. Paradox is dead. There's nothing else to say.
Is the AI in eu3 not as stupid as it is in eu3?
wat
EU4 does have less silliness when it comes to AI making exclaves like mad. It's the single turnoff of EU3 for me, and if there are any mods that remedy this I'd like to know so I can permanently shelve EU4.
no shit
just look at HOI4
You haven't posted the best one.
I don't know why they let him out of the basement. I'm not sure if he even technically works there, he was supposed to be on paternity leave or something.
Border gore is too real at Europe in EU3.
By that logic only thing with any worth in Stellaris was the sprites and ship models. Might be true.
Holy fuck who is this guy trying to fool? It's a cosmetics pack, nobody gives two tugs of a dead dogs dick about the 'technicalities' of it.
Will this fuck up the checksum too?
This is your brain on Marxism
Hopefully Japan can make it
I enslaved a xeno planet and got all their shipping line and a few of their shitty ships.
Anybody tried polaris sector? all i know is that it is a Stellaris published by Matrix games, their games have the reputation of being more complex.
I heard it was a shit Slitherine game. Got to repetitive and too easy.
Thanks, these are beautiful.
I'm trying to remember, I think it was MiscMods that gives you the option where no AI nation can take land without a CB. It's also in the archive.
It reminds me of CA claiming the Beastman DLC was oh so hard to make and that's why they only have like 18 units in their roster.
If a fuckoff DLC is "hard and expensive to make", then perhaps you're going about it the wrong way.
Factions are pretty important gameplay elements in Total Wars, so the jewery there has some basis. Can't really say the same for wacky alient sprites in Stellaris.
STELLARIS 1.3 UPDATE
The third big free update, after which I assume they'll start shitting out paid DLCs.
The promised features:
- a technology that, if reserached, will allow you to set your sciene ship to auto-explore
- rally points, AKA something that should've been in the game since launch:
- Expansion Planner: basically a mapmode that makes it easier to see which planets you can colonise (useless)
- Strategic Resource Rework: they split strategic resources into strategic and local, where the local will be tied to the planet they're on and add more types of such resources (good), and further split the strategic resources into civilian and military (questionable). Also, having one of a strategic resource will be enough for anything, so if you got two of a strategic resource, you can just trade it away without reprcussions (shit-tier). An exception to this will be the terraforming strategic resources.
- fleet combat overhaul and dedicated ship roles (too vague to evaluate)
- many bug fixes, UI improvements, and QoL (just about the best thing so far, it seems)
So, what's your opinion on this? I think it's kinda underwhelming in features, but do want those bug fixes.
Nothing because I refunded Stellaris after playing it for three hours and went back to playing Endless Space instead.
Why? Sounds like a cop out from making the AI capable of trading and utilizing those resources properly.
That sounds like a somehow even more shallow version of Civ V's resource system. So Paradox is making games with less depth than Civilization now.
Actually, I think it's the Civ 4's resource system, that had something like this. I like the local resources thing, at least - might make some planets more unique and worth fighting for.
I assume it's because the cocksuckers on their forums wanted a more complex resource system, but not too complex one. The dev diary stated that they listened to fan feedback and decided to change a lot of planned things for the patch as a result, to accomodate that feedback.
Too small a scale, with too few species and too few techs. I need a game I can sink several days of pure gametime into, and beating Endless Space takes much less than that
Any good mods for HOI4 that arent Black ICE.
That's half of the price of the full game. Is he saying they worked on it for a few years?
no fuck off
Anyone want to do a To End All Wars PBeM multiplayer game with me?
1. Austria is German.
2. Austrians are Germans.
3. Blow your brains out, kike shill.
Austrians have their own distinct culture and identity. Fuck off globalist. I suppose you think all caucasoids should form their own state, too? Or maybe all mankind should make one big country? Get out jew.
No they don't. They're just slightly worse Bavarians with delusions of grandeur.
stupid dumb prussian scum 1866 worst day of my life
Dollfuss was based
He says it contains 1/6th of the entire game art. Hence, the game should've been priced at $120
Stellaris is fundamentally unfun because choices don't matter. Ethos choice doesn't matter, planet choice doesn't matter, traits don't matter, starting position doesn't matter.
That's not true, however. Ethos choice matters, altering literally all of diplomacy and policies, as well as the passive bonuses, events choices, and flavour text.
Not sure how muhc you'd like to have planet choice matter - you can inhabit the planets of the type you chose or the ones close to it, and have to terraform the others. It's better than the "there are two kinds of planets, inhabitable and uninhabitable, and those are the same for all species."
Traits are for passive bonuses, which can be used to further refine your or other species. Getting +10% output to all research or +40% army strength isn't negligible.
Starting position indeed doesn't matter, you are correct with that one, at least.
Ethics don't matter because the majority do not affect things in a significant way. The bonuses are irrelevant, same with the trait bonuses, and the special features just mean the AI will like you slightly less. But since it's almost completely passive anyway, who cares? Last I checked, diplomacy was stupid as fuck after the removal of embassies. At any rate, the early AI factions are just fodder for the player since you can't actually build "tall" so you have to go to war sooner or later. Ethics also have no impact on the end game crises, so again they don't matter.
Starting planet choice is irrelevant because there will always be enough planets of your type in the early game and you can later adjust your species and terraform shit.
u wot m8
One of the few spots of strategy I've seen has been getting the drop on other empires in map info and then monopolising strategic resources.
1.3 changes strategic resources into… what resources? Mid-game content resources?
I consider the things I listed to be a pretty major part of the game.
No they aren't. You pretty much cannot enslave or purge xenos without xenophobe trait due to the mallus you'd get from your main pops (especially if you happen to be a xenophile), for example.
They are significant, hence not irrelevant
Why would it being passive make it irrelevant? Do you need a fucking button to push every battle, saying "activate 40% strength bonus"?
Your reasoning is shit tier. Why should there be a connection between the two things and why should it matter? End game crises aren't the game's fucking objective, they're just something to stir things up in the end game and make things interesting
Again, why the fuck would that make it irrelevant?
It's retarded. Maybe they'll have a resource DLC later on – I wouldn't put it past the jews.
Schluchtenscheißer bitte
I looked it up because I wanted to see some drama, and I read this
So it's not as completely retarded as I thought, but will require a colony for what used to require a mining station because people are too retarded to check things/keeptrack/the devs are too lazy to work on the interface more.
Imo it's a bit of an indirect nerf to putting all the special power plants on one planet and stacking energy production bonuses, but it was the only resource worth a damn so maybe that’s for the best.
I'm fine with the local resources - it makes the planets more unique and worth fighting for, especially if the bonuses are significant. It's the strategic resources that I find retarded.
I guess it's better than what's in the game now, but I actually hope they shit out a DLC improving all this, and won't leave it in present state.
anybody have any tips for playing Germany in the DH WWI scenario
Bavarians aren't German either.

I want to learn to play Darkest Hour, but I am too lazy to read the manual. What do?
I don't own that game, and I've never played it but I would be willing to try if the pirate version can play MP
Sounds like something stannis would actuly do.
research tech
build Industry for the first year or two
crank out divisions
establish the Mare Nostrum
Mostly just spam infantry and you can figure it out eventually.
I don't know how to feel right now.
I learned the basics by watching a let's play of Kaiserriech.
no idea, maybe. Only copy I can find is the Codex crack, and I'm not sure if it's even the right version.
I'm playing as the Hauteville Duke of Antioch, any suggestions on what i could do besides obviously continuing to return christianity to the lands stolen by the arabs?
Disgusting.
sack Constantinople
How can I increase the Papal suitability of the bishop in one of my vassal counties? He became a cardinal without me even being aware of it, and his suitability is 528 with the highest being 546.
Link?
put money in the campaign fund right?
Guys please, I am trying to wrap my head around this game, but all the sources (wiki e.t.c.) are garbage or outdated.
What is sold(export)? How can farmers be exporting if the amount that is being sold domestically is everything that is being produced?
Either the numbers update at different times or they are selling from stockpiles. Or the numbers are bugged. I wouldn't mind it too much.
I don't really see a reason to care about such small details.
I'm pretty sure that's for getting another bishop into the college of cardinals.
Yet Austrians wanted to become part of Germany when Germany was doing well in the 1930's. Their culture is not that different, their language is the same but in a different dialect, and they are entirely German genetically. We must unite the German peoples.
Friendly reminder that the HoI3 MP game is today at 20:00 UTC if Japan shows up.
Spain cannot make it, so if anyone would like to jump in on the action there's an opportunity for substitution.
out
Have you tried bribing the cardinals?
Where is Japan?
There goes France's southern front.
Why would Austria ever want to become a part of a pozzed piece of shit?
Allegedly Japan is the only major that hasn't confirmed that he's showing up today.
Yeah, not having a Spain would be a big problem.
You misread. Look closer at your own screenshot. They're selling slightly more than what's being produced domestically each day.
Confirm your stockpiles.
Commie detected.

You fool, the foreigners will be purged or exiled, and do you not understand that if you change the education system to be pro-nationalist, the next generation will already be very patriotic, no cucks.
Being optimistic is good for your health, user, good on you.
Turkroaches are getting very uppity after the failed coup, and the migrants will support them. There are literally millions of them, and more are streaming in every day. Are you sure you can exile or purge them all at this point? Such an attempt could be met with a German coup that would truly turn it into Turkey 2.0. You might end up being the ones exiled, in which case, having Austria independent would prove a safe haven
The same case could be made for Luxembourg, but they'd rather remain themselves than a part of Germany.
And Austria's deranged fiscal approach is incompatible with the civilized world.
A case could also be made that Austria is Northern Italian as well as Slavic. Their German qualities just being remnants of their era within the H.R.E.
Prussia having decided what German is by ousting Austria from the sphere of Southern Germany.
Yet the formed a union with Slavic Hungarians.
...
Your Green party literally just committed election fraud and stole the rightful presidents position from the nationalists.
By no means do nonwhites outnumber whites in any European country. In the most pozzed shitholes like UK, Germany, Sweden and France they're around 10-15% of the population. It's a lot, but not enough when the 85-90% white population gets angry.
Out of the whites, majority want the foreigners out - even though most of these don't understand it's a racial issue and not a religious one (most think Islam is the problem not the Arab and Negroid races).
Either way, it's pretty obvious that if/when this evolves into actual combat, nationalists will win very easily. We are the majority, and we are generally the only ones who support gun ownership and thus tend to own guns. Russia will also take the chance to sell weaponry for nationalists, they've been selling arms all across the world for decades now, for every side.
Hungarians are not Slavs, they are Fenno-Ugric like Finns and Estonians

I'm Czech, mate. I'm just hoping that the faggotry stays contained in western europe and doesn't spill over here – there are many directly anti-islam regional parties (as in they have shit like "against islam" in their name) and even the major parties know better than to say anything positive against immigration. Just last week, the leader of a major coalition party (and just about the second most important politician overall) said that he "stopped believing in multiculturalism" and suggested that we should simply break the EU quotas and suffer through the possible sanctions, as that would be prefferable to the shit going down elsewhere in Europe, as well as stating that e hsould make sure that there's not a single migrant in our country, not even a 'temporary' one.
I'd hate for this course of events to be disrupted in any way
That is not how that works.
Simple.
