Why are they starving when other communist countries with warm-weather climates like Vietnam aren't? Vietnam doesn't even any significant oil production. You would think it would be easy-mode communism. It's not like Russia with half the country being frozen.

Last I heard, there was some kind of tech boom or whatever (take it as salt grain, need source for that).
Which means Vietnam has some income to support whatever kind of regime they have.

But.. it's a communist country. Why can't they grow enough food? It just doesn't make any sense. All around them in the New World are agricultural powerhouses. How do you exist in South America and you aren't self-sufficient in food? Especially when you are a militarized communist nation with the ability to just nationalize farmland? Tech boom or not, it looks like racial incompetence.

Just to make sure, I was talking about a possible tech boom in Vietnam, not Venezuela.

After that I don't know, there could be some cultural difference between Venezuela and Vietnam. It could be an interesting study.

you don't know how economy works, there IS food, there just is a meagle production to what was in the past and a lot of what's here currently is imported, so you have very high prices for food due to there not being enough production, if you had the money you could buy almost all you wanted(a lot of them through black market, mind you) but you *can* find food. It's just too expensive for the average venezuelan as the currency isn't worth a damn. and yeah, a lot of people are subsisting in mangoes and sardines.

basically. Right now they are menacing public employees, pensioners and micelaneous gib receivers into voting in the illegal constituent process which has as an objective to remove congress and prosecutor general(as they are against the government) and further give power to the government, like removing autonomy from public universities

theirs and ours aren't exactly the same, but i'd say that arepas are more tied to our cultures than theirs. It's not worth arguing about who invented the arepa anyway, it really isn't important
