in case anyone is wondering why the red distribution is smaller even on the side the grey squirrels arent near (other than habitat destruction) one reason is that some populations of plentiful organisms are replenished by the main populations and exist at a boundary (where evolution can cause new species to develop) where they are not well adapted to it
