ITT: Describe your dream game

The mechanics and plot outline of System Shock 2 with a Lovecraftian Story:

>A distinct intelligence begins to communicate telepathically with you, like the ball of light from Beyond the Wall of Sleep
>Cast spells from the necronomicon a la The Case of Charles Dexter Ward which drain your mental fortitude

An ARPG with AI that isn't nigger-tier retarded.

free roaming casino game with nice jazz music

made a thread a long time ago about it

...

Just play dead rising 2/2OTR with the zombies modded out

Morrowind if I could enjoy it for more than short bursts of 15-30 minutes.

I want Dragon's Dogma in Dragon Quest's world and aesthetics, with ability to capture monsters and recruit followers.

Diablo meets King's Field (first person perspective with no guns– bows okay)
Set in this universe we live in
Set in the future
Set in space in an ancient temple that gets more difficult as you descend
The loot is all alien and shit and has many suffixes and prefixes after examination and classification– just the way I like it

It would sell billions.

Post-Gehenna Vampire The Masquerade game.

...

a game were u can do anything

but lik i mean "ANYTHING" anythingg

it wud be like a multiplayer minecrat cept with bettr grafics and more modrn interface

you can team up with yur friends nd b peesful or u can kill the good guys and make a tyranany accross your dicktatorship

u can also do like ANYTHING with the oter players like even if dey think its not a good one

esentialy like a gam were u can do anything basicily

Proper PC port of Armored Core Last Raven with good netcode.

Just a game like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, but with better combat?

A first person RPG with turn-based combat of Wizardry 8 with the exploration of Dragon's Dogma and with bits of a story similar to Wizardry Tale of the Forsaken Land (in that the people of said land feel rather gloomy and unsatisfied) and a less crappy version of the civil war plot from Skyrim (emphasis on less crappy). Said turn-based combat does show how the fight goes based on whose turn it is (fighter swings sword as mage charges spell. Monster then swings arm at thief just as the mage throws the fireball when the thief dodges)

Duke Nukem 3D + Grand Theft Auto + Blade Runner = My Dream Game

Multiplayer Fire emblem game, where you can be a unit, or a tactician. You'd be at the mercy of your tacticians, but you can flag request to talk to the tactician. The tactician can either deny or take your request but he cannot talk to you, only determine where you move and etc. like Fire Emblem games.

>the REAL final boss is a perfect copy of you that's been learning your strategy and playstyle the whole game

Only game I've replayed more than 3 times

TimeSplitters 2 with twice the everything. It'd keep me entertained for the rest of my life.

...

That's the best I could come up with in five minutes

...

That's a real shit idea, OP.

ITT: people with good ideas keep them to themselves while snickering at idiots with retarded ideas.

Let's see… I'll just rattle off a few dot point concepts here:
>X-COM-modeled Ghost in the Shell/cyborg public security section strategy and tactics game that optionally leads in to this X-COM remake/successor that I'll sometimes gush about to myself
>3D FLOSS SS13
And this'll be a bit autistic, but:

...

If you don't include the L then people might get mixed up and then other people might take those peoples' being mixed up as an opportunity to cheat those people~

Star Citizen but real and not garbage.

my idea will make me billions as soon as i learn to use gamemaker, i won't give it to you for free kiddo.

I just want more games where you can play as wolves/werewolves. Things like Wolf Quest and being a Lycanthrope in Morrowind/Skyrim are cool as hell, but not a lot of games let you do this.

Playing Dead To Rights Retribution and the parts where you play as Shadow the dog were fucking baller as fuck, and made playing as a stealthy canine super fun. I want that but with wolves/werewolves.

...

>Secret lovecraftian story about the world slowly being consumed by something horrible as the entity that keeps the world alive through dreams slowly dies, and the player's inability to stop it. Most of the quests involve people coming to terms with something, or trying to defy something inevitable, or dealing with long and short lives, but it all only comes together when you step back and look at it all as one big piece.
>One particular story starts at the very first village with an old man. As the story progresses, he leaves his shop, and travels to a lot of the same places the player would during their quest. It's meant to look like the usual "NPC merchant that's always around" but really they're on their own quest to escape the world before it's too late. When the player reaches the end of a dungeon there's usually some sign, subtle or not, of something having been taken.
>If the player reads the books in the library of several towns, they can piece together the fact that the missing things are all part of an ancient, immensely powerful portal.
>If the player reaches the old man within a day of him getting the last piece they trigger the "true ending" where the player and the kindly old merchant battle in the item shop for the right to exist beyond the end of existance.
If the player wins, they instead become the Dreamer, and have to accept that they'll still die soon in a strange world and body

Maybe not dream but still

A JoJo fighting game with good controls and models that don't look like something from 6th gen

That's not how Amaranth works.

I'm missing the reference, sorry.

An first person, heavily simulationist fantasy rpg with survival mechanics (must eat, sleep, drink, stay warm, &c.) Fast, high skill, simulationist melee combat. A hand crafted map the size of Daggerfall's, but with realistic content density / settlement size, no dialog options, instead you have a professionally implemented version of Façade's dialogue system that works with every npc. The game forces you to rollplay, and will penalize you in combat / character progression if you don't (I.e., you define your character's personality before hand, if you don't act like you say they will you get xp gain penalties and you get longer button ques or even intentional lag if you don't behave like your character should)

My dream game would be Rimworld but more Fun.
Honest to god it has the right setting, it's the right genre, it has an intuitive UI, but it's lacking something more that I just can't put my finger on to make me actually want to come back to it. I clocked maybe 40 hours on it and don't want to go back to it even though it's basically the game I want.

Either that or Banished but harder

I want a platformer kinda like the Adventure Mode from Melee or the Subspace Emissary from Brawl, but more like an actual game and not just an excuse to put X character into Y world. I want a fast-paced, hype as fuck platformer with lots of options for movement, execution, and high-speed inputs and fights.

Essentially, I want a game that is so cool and flashy that looking at it makes you think it's a TAS playthrough of the same game.

Semi-related

I spent quite a lot of time thinking about an Air Gear video game many years ago.

Not sure if it's my dream game, but I still kind of want it.

Also wasn't someone trying to get his hands on that version of spore by contacting the presenter of that showcase?

A good grand strategy game that isnt made by penny pinching swedes.

Oh yeah, that reminds me

yeah mecha game with flying mechs controlled on mouse would be awesome

also rts with mechs where you customize them and collect parts
pretty much Metal Fatigue but working on modern computers and without god awful nukes
tanks and planes could stay but add infantry units maybe even specialists against different type of mechs
yeah and it needs destructible enviroment

Say, you'll probably get a kick out of (read: fall into an incurable state of rage over) this, OP.

I'll just post a couple more dot points while they're still in my head:
>an open world survival crafting game set in an inconstant space; a hollow world where details change when you look away, and where arcane rituals are necessary for you to be able to find the same place twice - one impression of this would be of a glitched out game with a broken procedural world generator, although with arcane rituals, etc, it ends up going a bit beyond that
Embed related on that last dot point.

quake/tf/ow style fps with heavy emphasis on movement, combos and tech skill
basically "sketchek: the game"

You go to sleep and stuff happens in your brain

Time to change this

WAS HP LOVECRAFT RACIST OR NOT ???

NIGGERMAN NIGGER MAN

Wait, forget that: Here's one more post all about myself.
With "F.E.A.R./Half-Life 2: SMOD modeled", embed related is the sort of thing I mean.

No Man's Sky but good would be the short of it.

Well, obviously. Like any man of even slight intellect.

An S4 League based 3D fighting game. Every character (32 in total) uses a weapon in game and have new movesets to perform sick Tekken style combos. But SP system is also present. Every command move, special move, run/dash, dodge and wall jump you perform uses SP and if you run out of SP you're a sitting duck. That's about it.
Here's some blogposting for anyone interested
>End up with 10 characters and 2 boss characters Ps user, CS user, Bat/Nell user, Old Katana user, Shotgun user, Fist user in Master set, Old Dagger user, Spy Dagger user, Scythe user infected with Chaser Virus, Bind/Chain user in Tamer set, EX CS user mini-boss and Parent Virus boss for the first game
Nowadays i have more self confidence and rarely give up on projects i start but i'm too occupied to do shit. Life is a bitch.

Please rate.

A a super robot game set in a real robot world, with 90's FPS gameplay and 70's anime aesthetics and music.

The details of my dream game seems to change every month, but right now this is what I'm longing for.

Fucking newfag can't even bait correctly you should of told someone to go back to Holla Forums.

Warhammer 40K 2.5D fighting game. Made by Japs because Western devs suck at making fighting games.

A completely proceduraly generated open-world hack and slash (enemy ai and combat must be good) with a small sprinkle of rpg elements. Leveling up would be more about getting moves with better frames/reach/priority than it would be about getting passives.

...

Command and conquer red alert with all sides and weapons in all c&c games. With a fuckload of huge maps that require strategic thinking to figure out.

Ever played Command and Conquer All Stars, user? I haven't, but it sounds pretty similar to what you're looking for.

I used to watch air gear years ago, this sounds amazing actually. I hate you now for making me want this user

SotC but with mechs instead of monsters
and you command unit of mech exterminators infantry unit
ofc it would be not just bulky slow shits but agile medium sized as well

Keep those ideas coming, goyim.

the combat system of mount+blade with the rts system of crusader kings

need to completely rework the shit tier sieges

I think most of all what I'd like to see though is Arma made by actually competent people, which is to say an engine with solid underpinnings able to simulate on an absolutely massive scale anything from mountain blade line battles to modern combined arms operations that also came with a full suite of content-creation software and complete documentation.

The name's Goodman; Feels Goodman

...

My dream game is MGS2 with more to do in Shell 2 and inverted movement for swimming.

Basically the newer shadowrun games mixed with shining force levels of enemy variety and non linear levels / actual good level design that throws in LOTS of things you can interact with (and not the bioshock HURRDRUUR SHOOT LIGHTNING IN WATER ENEMY FUGG levels of blatant), a proper stealth / ambush system, enemy patrols and a story that can changed based on available dialogue and moral choices you unlock based on your character build.
They kinda have a half assed version of this where at most the dialogue choices are there to help you roleplay and not change the path the story is taking.

...

Fucking lord
that's spoopy

Something like that already exists. Kind of

No really what the fuck is amarath, google's giving me nothing related to my post. I feel like it's something really obvious but I'm somehow missing it.

It would be cool to have have a game about the military attacking Innsmouth.

Best of all, it's canon.

Necromancy game along the same terms as pikmin.

You want Overlord. Go play Overlord.

Oh, here:
elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Enda_Kenny/Amaranth

that's gross and there's no skeleton warias

Huh…well I guess I should get back to TES, then. There's WAY more going on than I thought.

I just want this to become sweet sweet reality.

The stat system in that game is genius, having how your character looks determine stats is something other games should do as well.

The anime was a mixed bag. Animation was kind of janky and stiff.. Awesome soundtrack, though.

For some reason, just the whole structure and world of it hooked me. I'm a slut for that kind of shounen-y, team-based tournament kind of stuff. Plus the mix of Jet Set Radio and Fight Club stuff really hooked me.

Game-wise, it feels like something that was made to be turned into a game. The way they talk about customizing parts and recruiting teams and capturing territory just seems like perfect vidya material.

Fuck yeah I'd love a game, or even a movie around his work. Zdzislaw like decors, weird fucked up shit. A movie based on The Mountains of Madness would be great. But yeah, what you described would be a good game

...

Oblivion and (especially) Skyrim are still pretty shit, though, and even in Morrowind a lot of the details of the setting tend to get glossed over. The Elder Scrolls really, really deserves a much better developer than Bethesda.

It's like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines taught us: Publishers are the devil.

wtf I hate lovecraft now
I am now a #PoeMissile

Oh god you don't even know.
Google atmom del toro>>10221445

I'm not sure how to feel about this.

was he intelligent? yes. so no, he was not racist

you are what is wrong with this world.

isnt that how this works?

Jesus christ I thought the bait had gotten stale by now

Here's another thread-relevant screencap. I'm digging through tons and tons of old images in search of a couple of dream game idea screencaps I've got stuck in my head, so bear with me here.

just a bit

A fairy petting/raising game

Oh, there was actually a whole bunch of those kinds of screencaps lumped right in with that last one there.

Does it have dedicated buttons for foxhole banter and Guardsman-Humor?

Also, what about Commissars?

looks breddy impossible and never going to happen but I want it

Every time.

Mountain Blade, but with a main story and various side stories with the companions and better AI. Also, you can keep playing even after the main story finishes. Also diplomacy is as in-depth as Crusader Kings II, and you can play from Bonerload year to just after a WWI-type scenario. The only problem I can think of is one game can take months to finish, but personally I'm fine with that.

Fuck me I shouldn't do this when this tired.
*There's also an option to look at the map in different forms like Crusader Kings, because I really like border-lines.

After playing games like Postal 2 and Blood where the protagonist isn't some do-gooder, I'm interested in seeing an FPS that plays like this:

I will admit, this game does come off like nothing more than the fantasy of an edgelord but I honestly would like to see characters that are either like the Postal Dude or Caleb from Blood. Also like to see a game that doesn't try to paint both sides as good with any ambiguity thrown out the window when seen through the lens of a man that wants to see the world burn.

An online ARPG with a fairly technical combat system. No classes, but individual weapons would have mechanics that give them different roles in battle in the vein of MH or Vindictus, as well as a limited skill system to further specialize your character. The world setting would be vaguely akin to Bloodborne, complete with a Lovecraftian story, however there would be more variety in the areas as you travel all over the continent via teleporters in a central hub. The starting area is the capital city with glorious Gothic Victorian architecture, another location would be an icy area in the mountains with a combination of heavily industrialized factories and late Muscovite buildings, and when leaving the city you would find ancient alien ruins of surreal technology deep in the mountains, and so on.

There would also be a huge amount of character customization, both gameplay and aesthetic wise. A random dungeon system would be in the game, but unlike chalice dungeons they would have a massive variety in settings and loot, with the potential of encountering other teams that could help or hinder you.

oh man, he had a long face

My ideal game:

My dream game is similar to this but you'd also be able to kill children and stomp babies' heads into mush and that would give you rapidly regenerating health or faster fire rate for 5 seconds for every one kid you killed with unlimited stacks. It wouldn't be uncommon to have that power-up last for over 10 minutes (but when it lasts for an absurdly long time like that, waves of Navy SEALS and U.S. Marines would then bear down on you to keep the game from being too easy).

Thanks for the ideas nerds, getting ready to pitch some to my boss right now

Air gear had a great soundtrack, and team based stuff in anything feels good.

...

A civilization building game (much like civ but alot more in-depth) with RTS and city-building mechanics for your separate outposts, towns, armies, etc.

...

I've got one.
It's an open world modern-fantasy ARPG, set in a world where a tear leading to heaven resulted in the entire planet being overrun with mutated corruptions of human and divine flesh. Monster design is based on the weird multi-winged multi-eyed depictions of angels in biblical interpretations, corrupted in the vein of Soul Sacrifice. Think El Shaddai in terms of art style, but SS for monster design.

There's different weapons and armors that can be crafted, of different types like swords and spears and whatnot, and like in Monster Hunter you get parts from cutting them off monsters. The difference, however, is that you don't just collect monster parts and throw them into an alchemical algorithm to make a weapon come out, but instead you take different body parts and physically stick them together on a weapon crafting screen. If you need a wing to attach to your sword's hilt for whatever reason, you reach into your collection of different wings and decide which one you'll stitch onto your monstrosity blade.

hey, where is the video?

My ideal game would basically be the gameplay of FF12 IZJS but more complex. Classes must be more unique with not too much overlapping skills. More gear that has specific effects which in turn will allow for crazy builds.

The world was fine but more secret areas and hidden places you can only reach with chocobos. Add local multiplayer up to 2 friends can control 2 out of the 3 active party members, no splitscreen and a little increase in the overall difficulty.

ITS GHOST IN THE SHELL + RAINBOW SIX WITH LOTS OF BULLSHIT GADGETS AND SCI FI GUNS

THERE, DONE. IT WOULD BE GREAT

Once again, threadly reminder that leftists are "rewriting" Lovecraft's works to get rid of shit like this

I want the gameplay of dragons dogma with the lore and world building of a TES game.

That's actually what Streumon are planning for EYE 2 once they've finished Space Hulk: Deathwing

>it feeds on female cum

It feeds on pee?

I want to be immersed in a world that is alive and moves without me, with my choices mattering.

Gameplay can be a 7/10 if I can get the above.

Is that too hard to ask for?

By the way, NIER Automata looks lit as fuck

I'm really not okay with gross as fuck aliums turning on girls.

Fucking dammit, if a girl is aroused, I want it to be by an attractive guy.

I'm tired of old men, fat men, and ugly monsters fucking hot chicks. If I watch porn I want the girl to have some fucking standards.

If she's just some alien fucking low standard whore I don't care about her.

If I am not immersed, I don't fucking care and my penis does not expand.

I can't be the only person who feels this way.

So you're not fighting angels, but the Nephilim resulting from angels breeding with humans?

Why not just make it when the fallen angels were cast out of heaven and breeded with humans making Nephilim? That would totally work, it would be some great first contact shit.

You could even PLAY AS a Nephilim and be abandoned by the forces of good but know that your very existence is wrong, so you have to destroy your Nephilim brothers and sisters. You could be a more recent one and they are older and therefore stronger due to time.

You beat them all but you still have to live your life like Guts, a reject who is neither accepted by the good or bad, wandering the earth.

Eventually you kill all the other Nephilim and fight shit like the Leviathan from the bible with the great hunter Nimrod by your side,, and eventually work up toward banishing demons from areas (because they can't die), trying to do good, even though your very existence is cursed.

That would be heavy metal as FUCK and I would totally play it, I love your idea and mine together.

...

kill me pete

what? why would you need "racism"? the stories are about fear, not racial identity politics

I hope the half of the dev team that started the sabotage campaign to turn the game into shit a half retarded monkey could play ended up stacking boxes in a warehouse.

SOMEONE REPLY TO ME DAMMIT I THINK THIS IS A FABULOUS IDEA

fear of the unknown and 'otherly' things, have you even read lovecraft's work?

"but i wanna be edgyyyyyy"

Something upset you, nigger?

In all honesty, I'd summarize my dream game as
"Fallout 3, but good."

A huge area to explore, preferably with a purpose for doing so (food, ammunition, etc.)
Different areas have different enemies in them, and sometimes you might come in unprepared.
Some seemingly nondescript areas have tons of tons of stuff going on beneath the surface, and other areas are as plain as they appear.

I must have 300+ hours in Fallout 3, mostly thanks to mods, but 90% of that enjoyment came just from wandering around and looking for stuff.

Why not Van Buren?

A top-down RPG wouldn't be the same.

It's basically a game simulating a classic movie drug deal.

Think briefcases full of money and trunkfulls of white packages.

Each succesful deal nets you money and XP for upgrades and stuff.

However, every 10 or so rounds, your team will have some ulterior motive in the form of a secret goal they have to perform to win the game.

This goal will range from something simple like "get the drugs without showing the other team the money first" to something like "crash the deal and make sure the other team doesn't make it out alive."

This system makes sure you're always on your toes about the other team's goals and lends the game a feeling of paranoia.

What do you guys think?

Sounds pretty neat, but there would have to be A LOT of variation, because a perfect round that goes off without a hitch would be very, very uneventful. But yeah, add in a few random scenarios like a snitch on one of the teams, or a surpise visit by the cops, and it could be interesting

But I could also imagine a whole bunch of rounds where absolutely nothing happens and its very boring

I'm imagining something like Papers Please.
4 times out of 5, there are no problems.
But maybe, just maybe, there is a problem.
You can't shake that nagging feeling, because if you do, bad things will happen when you let your guard down.

This. I still don't understand how people can find Miley Cirus and others like her attractive. She may have been back in 2003 or something, but that was before she was whoring around.

I have an idea for an ARPG that essentially combines VtBM and the Devil May Cry series. It would center around three members of a vampire clan, each with their own playstyle and storylines, but they would be intertwined and the decisions made in one will also affect the others. There would be a heavy empasis on the story/writing, but it's all easily skipable if you just want to vamp shit up using the default story options or an entirely separate mode. It would also be linear in terms of level design, but each stage coincides with the story and would be diverse in the locations. (Castle, Forest, Nearby Town, etc.) That's about all I got so far, but I am working on a basic outline of the plot and characters.

Personally I hope you never make it into game development on any level.

Have you? His work was more about madness, fear, and things far beyond human comprehension. It's like you only know about him from Holla Forums memes and not his work or life. After shelving his introvert lifestyle and experiencing the world, his perception on many things changed. He even married a jew for fucks sake.

Why's that? Do words like "linear" and "story" upset you? Either way, it's happening. Even if it doesn't happen.

Where's your big dream game idea?

Sounds like this one game from about ~2010
