If you REALLY want it to work, then, yeah, some forms of hypnosis really will work. That fuckery you see on TV where a magician gets some random asshole to act like a chicken or whatever? Staged bullshit. But you can induce dislike for things you used to like, or vice versa. For instance, a smoker can use hypnosis to start associating cigarettes with unhealthy thoughts or whatever, and that can lead them to lower their usage and eventually quit altogether. Or the opposite: if you've got a fear of dogs, you can use hypnosis to help associate them with pleasant thoughts and that'll make it easier for you be around them.

I highly doubt you can turn a straight man gay or a regular man into a cuckold fetishist via hypnosis, though.

Spyro is an iconic character that barely needs any changes. He's a purple dragon with red and gold wings, uses flame breath and charge abilities. How hard is it to stick to that? What developer in their right mind decided, "You know, dragons shouldn't use flame breath and charge with their horns"? OK, so ice, electric and bubble breath were interesting ideas but couldn't this stick to some kind of comic book series or novel? This isn't something that should be implemented in a licensed game.

And changing the look of him was a bad idea too. The developers couldn't tell how childish or intimidating they wanted him to look. In cronological order of the games, this is how he looks:

From the first three games by Insomniac, Spyro's scales were rough and had sharp textures. Since developers like Vicarious visions and publisher Sierra took over, they've become smoother, as well as NPC textures and environments. Maybe it's because we're on different generation consoles? Who knows. But either way, a lot of us prefer the old Spyro.

Reason 8: The protagonist slowly being pushed out of the "Main Character" seat

Insomniac stated during an interview for Spyro: Year of the Dragon's release, that instead of giving Spyro himself new abilities, they introduced new characters to do that for him. Later this was abandoned when Universal developed and produced Enter the Dragonfly, and turned him into a Swiss Army Knife. However, critics and players alike seemed to give Insomniac praise for introducing this, as it gave the game a lot more variation and could've made the previous games a tad better. Characters such as Bentley the Yeti, Shiella the Kangaroo, Sgt. Byrd and Agent Nine really gave the game more flavour and personality. And with this, Spyro was given more activities such as skateboarding, UFO-control and more.

But the first change to the protagonist in a Spyro game was the Legend of Spyro trilogy. It was here where Spyro would have to fight with nemesis Cynder in order to tackle The Destroyer in the third game. Because Spyro's abilities varied little to Cynders, as well as his combos, there were few reasons to play as him, or even remember him. The final push to get Spyro out of the picture was to make Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. This is my biggest pet peeve - his name is a subtitle, and they claim it's his first adventure. Much like Sonic the Hedgehog, there's too many characters being introduced suddenly, with little to no story or personality. It's like as if you're looking for lore on Gears of War's "Grinders" - what does it matter, they just say "Grind!". That's the same case here with Skylanders, and it's only going to get worse.

My language arts teacher hands out so many assignments without even giving the students a chance to finish the last one! Plus there's this new thing called "Study island" and she assigns homework on that too! Since I can't connect my school IPad to my home WiFi, I use my own tablet (I don't have a computer) but my tablet doesn't support it or something because, it keeps freezing and if I refresh it, I have to start over! I had to take an 100 minute midterm today and the teacher wouldn't let me go to the bathroom, even before it started.

I think that (especially in high school) It is rather ridiculous for children to have to stop the class, interrupt the teacher, and have to publicly announce their need to relieve themselves. Anyone who has attended a school with a large classroom may have felt the intense awkwardness that comes from your announcement, and then the heads all turning to follow your movement out the door. Teachers say that the reason is to keep students from skipping class, but a full grown eighteen year old adult should not have to ask to go to the bathroom, and all high schoolers should be old enough to make their own decisions, including whether or not they want to keep their grades by attending class.

We can go to the bathroom but in middle school, we have to bring our planners everywhere! It has our hallway passes. If we need to go to our lockers, the washroom or the water fountain, we need those passes. But if you forget your planner, you have to try and convince another student to let you use theirs… Yikes! It hasn't happened to me yet.

It's become clear for some time that my son (he's 8) does not want to leave the house. I suspect part of it is due to sensory processing issues, he just says leaving the house makes him angry. When we leave he has run away from me at times. He also has attachment issues and when it comes to daycamps or school, dropping him off is a huge ordeal and often he will not stay (in the case of daycamps).

While he is neurodiverse, he is also a kid who can "pass" and has more of the qualities associated with Aspergers. For example, he stims by chewing on things but only at home. I mention this as it is harder to explain his behavior and get help at some points as he seems perfectly "normal."

I am a bit at my wit's end as of late and would like a plan to get him to leave the house. Has anyone dealt with this? My partner is away and I am now seeing that I am probably going to have to hire a babysitter so I can get groceries.

In terms of what he will do if I push it, he will have a tantrum, barricade himself, etc. It is scary, stressful, and ultimately it might not work anyway.

I am getting resentful because there are some things he will do sometimes (like go to a kids movie) and often he will wait until the last minute and decide not to go. We have also spent a lot of money on things that he won't stick with, try again, or gets kicked out of.

Finally, this is also a problem as he is very overweight. It comes with not leaving the house. I am thinking of getting a WiiU dance game as that might help.

I guess I am also looking for stories from anyone who was like this and perhaps developed coping strategies as they got older and it improved their ability to leave the house?

A second point on that, I think one thing that bothers him is that he knows he might not be able to behave in a way people would like so he gets upset later if he couldn't control his impulses. With the exception of running away, we're pretty ok about responding about his impulses in a supportive manner.

If you suspect that sensory problems are involved then I would try and isolate what those difficulties are through discussion with your son and looking at his sensory profile - there might be resources and equipment that you can use to help him meet his sensory needs such as ear plugs, coloured lenses, weighted jackets, etc.

Is this a new behaviour? If so I would consider whether something is happening at school or elsewhere to upset him - is it possible he is being bullied in some way?

If you want to work on helping him be able to access the world outside of the house it's a good idea to start small. After you have met any sensory needs tell him that you want to go for a short (might be 1/2 minutes) walk and ask him whether he would prefer morning or afternoon. When the time comes if he panics or doesn't want to go, offer him one of his self-regulation strategies and just say something like "That's okay, we'll try again in a little while", then ask again a bit later. Respect when he says "No", but it doesn't have to mean "No, never", it just means "No, not right now". Once he feels comfortable with that, you can slowly increase the time out of the house.

Reading this just makes me feel sorry for that person.

If you go through the work of people who studying hatred of people with different sexual orientations you'd realize that homophobia is probably the most accurate term you can use to describe what is happening in the heads of haters.

Another problem is that it's far too widely applied. If someone is against homosexual activity, they are usually labeled a homophobe even if they would give their own life to save the other person's. (Not that everyone would, but some.)

I find this horrible. The contestant is 13 years old. I thought her audition was good. She was funny and said things about Trump that seemed accurate. This, however, seems more like an attack on the youngest Kardashians, Kylie and Kendall, and their 'dad' who is their mom. I know this is very stressful for them. To crack jokes about this shows a lack of compassion and empathy. Cracking jokes certainly won't help them. Even worse, the audience was very receptive and she went through onto the semi-finals. I'm sure we all know she wouldn't have been so well received, had she joked about the gays. This is very telling at where the majority of American society is at when it comes to the Trans community.
