What's the easiest mech game to get into?
A lot of the games I've tried to play are really hard to get into, and I don't mind games like that, but I'm not familiar with the genre at all.

MW 4 is pretty simple but controls not so.
Front mission 3 and armored core are the next easy ones I can think of,

i liked it, despite its flaws, partially because the mechs look not quite human, with the lack of a discrete head.
i even want to make a sort-of-clone of it (though the idea first came up when the first devs left and the game seemed to die). one new feature would be several leg types to choose from, like ratite, elephant, cockroach, slug and cushion star.

ill probably look into/play the ps1 armored cores for inspiration down the line.

I found a copy of phantom crash. Is it worth buying? I know that xbox emulators aren't exactly good, and the gameplay I looked up seems decent. Though I've only played mechassault when it comes to mech games and it's been a while, so I can't feel sure about the purchase.

Phantom Crash is breddy rad but it doesn't really work on the 360 and Xbox emulators are garbage so you're stuck with the original hardware.

It sucks ass. None of the mechs feel like mechs, and the weapons have no impact.

So far the only one that looks okay in motion is the new Animu that stars Win7-tan however they look like crap you'd get out of an N64 in terms of design. Only like two I like so far.

Summer Event is still going on where you could get a bunch of goodies for playing games, but as said, it's a pain because of the power creep. Hopefully the next map rotation isn't just full of grenades.

Gundam online is a great concept but a mess trust me it's not worth your time. Just Buy Breaker 3 if you have a ps4.

I love the models in this game would love to see a fan game take them. But the game is impossible to play on a vpn. It's like taking a pea shooter to a tank war.

If you're lucky, you can find a good VPN on SoftEther and have fun. Sometimes I do have to switch around sometimes, but I generally find decent ones. If you're looking for models, I think UCGO's models are pretty close.

don't have many screen shots of Ghiren's Greed, another game I love to death but I recommend it, Menace of Axis V on PSP is solid and I'm playing currently as Casaval's Zeon, problem is Ghiren's Zeon has about 150 or so units on belfast and I need to take that before I can push him out of space and I have just Africa and Jaburo left for EFF, but EFF has about 80 units in the sea spaces so taking jaburo is going to be a bitch

So is Zoids completely dead? I know there are a couple games for the series, the most recent being a 360 strategy RPG affair, but I want more. I want a game that'll let me pilot the Zoid in battle instead of issue commands. Maybe mod the shit out of them so I can put vector thrusters and drift in a Command Wolf, or load up a piece of shit grunt Zoid with huge guns well beyond its paygrade, or just pilot the Liger Zero Schneider because why does a Zoid that already excels in close quarters needs seven energy blades. The gamecube game that was based on Century Zero was alright, wasn't the best.

also I was messing around with the Model2 emulator (older version with not-fucked-up controls) and its master-slave link ability. you can actually do local Virtual-On stuff with it. pretty cool.

emulated Oratorio Tangram probably isn't possible right now. I don't know if Dreamcast emulators have link play capabilities and I don't even think you can find the Japanese ROM too easily (US Dreamcast version had no netplay IIRC). As for the latest version of Oratorio Tangram, Sega NAOMI emulators can't seem to do head-to-head master/slave type things and only side-by-side single cabinet multiplayer.

Supposedly the Virtual-On Force ROM for Sega Hikaru is in the process of being dumped, but that DEFINITELY won't have multiplayer capabilities anytime soon. If it's already been dumped, I can't find it. I wonder if you can even play without the pilot card system.

Mechanical design is bleh, I think there was only one I really liked. Only character names and basic designs are retained, they've changed a lot of other things (personality, measurements, etc) so of course people into [email protected]/* */ would hate it.
