Persona 5

More info about Cooperations. I dunno Japanese, but it looks like you'll get some abilities or perks as you rank up. I just hope they'll be better balanced than those apps in SMTIV.

And here's the first scan, 'cause they didn't all fit in the OP.

Ooga booga where the persona wimmins at.

New deck designs? Neat. That Sun looks smug as fuck.

I haven't been keeping up but I'm looking forward to this game. The "EN only" bit had me worried but, supposedly, Fatlus might consider making it dual audio.
And, hopefully, it won't be butchered in the localization.

I'm betting that the homeroom Teacher will be best co-op

Also I want to fug the dead Fortune teller.

If this translation is legit, I guess Mishima is going to be the April O'Neil of the group for a while.

I bet he'll be the traitor, though.

The gang goes to Hawaii, so look forward to seeing numerous dark people.

It looks like they are really going for the french card look this time

I dunno, he seems to be your connection to doing the bus dungeon quests, so he might not be the traitor.

My money is on the filthy fujo squid

She better be at least one of the better co-ops. I'm looking forward to hanging out with the weapons dealer and Tae the most out of the people outside of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

NO MARIE, NO BUY

I love the design for Carmen, for some reason Im really liking a lot of the new persona's. Captain Kidd is my favorite.

I like the design of Zorro more of the initial personas, Necronomicon is a bit silly since it is just a UFO.

You were pretty late this time.

Can Mark just please ban this faggot?
He's been spamming this every time there's a Persona thread.

You might be right. Futaba's persona thematically sticks out the most in the group. And the fact that it's named Necronomicon is the biggest red flag of all.

I have to admit using a pirate ship as a surfboard is a new kind of cool.

I think Goro will most likely have a Holmes or Watson inspired persona, as a contrast to the mc's Arsene persona. What do you guys think?

Every single persona revealed thus far has been legendary, with the exception of Necro's, just because it's just a UFO. Even Rise's persona had a logical and fitting design for the character while keeping in line with the others.

I'm not really worried about localization since, as far as I remember anyway, the previous efforts on Fatlus's part weren't butchered.

Although I do think it's kinda weird for english-speaking VAs to be using Japanese honorifics in dialogue. It just makes more sense if it were purely subtitled. It never really bothered me much, just something I thought was kinda silly.

Makes sense given the MC's Persona.

I'll gladly take betrayal over memes.

The most recent party Personae were a bit weird. I thought thieves/adventurers would be the theme and then it goes all over the place with the Lovecraftian UFO taking the cake.

Oh shit, I almost forgot.
Happy birthday to Tatsuya Suou!
Here's your pizza.

So are the enemies demons or stray personas? If they are demon, do they become the demon inside of you when they join you?

They're demons that turn into personas when you pact with them. At least, that's what I get from it all.

I really like the sound of that.

It is like P1 and P2, you make a contract with a demon and they become a persona for you.

Happy Birthday Tatsuya you tremendous faggot

I guess I should say that Tatsuya is my favorite protag.

...

all i can think of is that sperg from overwatch, d.va

would smash though along with that messy haired teacher

along with the braid hair chick in the main party, these are some pretty good waifus

Get Smoked would be better if she had bigger tits, and Prep School girl seems kinda cold. Inkling looks okay but is way too skinny, and will probably be annoying

gay shit

Get Smoked is, at this point in time at least, a boy.

camera lady is a babe too

Post proof because that's 90% anime girl.

"Shinya is an elementary school boy who plays at the arcade in Akihabara. He takes pride in his marvelous power in a certain online gun shooting game, and is known as the boy genius player. He seems to long for the “power” of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. The protagonist met Shinya in an arcade and they play a shooting video game where Shinya was able to easily beat the protagonist."

You can't google that?

Well google is hard. And it looks like that trope of gaymur gurl who dresses incognito and shit like that.

that better be another reverse trap

Hence why I said, "at this point in time" in my first post. We'll have to wait until the game is out to know for sure.

Yup I call reverse trap too.

"gamer gurl hiding their identity" seems like a likely premise, but it would seem silly for them to do the reverse trap angle twice

So since its current ATLUS its basically 100% guaranteed.

I was about to make another thread, but since this is here I'll ask. What do you guys think of the vocalists of the series? Who's your favorite? Lyn's been getting mixed reception, what do you think of her so far?

I think the OP for Persona 5 didn't need vocals at all, but I don't dislike her. Lotus Juice is hands down the best vocalist out of everyone they used.

after looking at the picture i can tell that it's 100% a girl

Mass Destruction is something I will never forget.

In the lore, demons are metaphysical beings reflecting human fantasy, that materialize on the living plane through rituals, and consume life force to remain on it.
Shadows are generally demons in origin, whose full potential has been lost or suppressed to accommodate a weaker environment.

I can't be quite sure about the enemies in P5, but they seem to be shadows that revert to demons upon shedding their masks. Though the game will most likely call them shadows altogether to simplify things.

Yumi is the best singer they've had by far.
Here's a recording of a low-budget convention concert in Arizona. Gems like this will probably be hard to find in the future.

Well guess the wait for Persona 5: Super is going to begin soon

Looks like Adachi in my opinion, so its to obvious for him to be the traitor

...

So it'll be more like the Fate system, constantly giving bonuses. Got it.

Super what?

Shit, I didn't know we did Persona concerts. Yumi definetly dominated Shihoko in that Maze of Life performance.

Yumi has a… I'm not sure if it's her voice, her accent, or something, but a certain… Heaviness to her voice, especially on certain sounds. I don't know what it is and I can't describe it well, but it's something I never heard on another Japanese singer, so it gives her a certain character that I like. That character does make it seem like she's the least experienced with English though.

Lotus Juice has been a pretty consistently strong singer throughout his tenure. His lyrics have certainly become less Engrish, but I don't know if lyrics are his or Meguro's work, but he's always had good prescence.

Shihoko has definetly been the weakest, but she's also shown great improvement over the years. She's definetly better in slow songs like Snowflakes or Now I Know. She's dominated when ever she's in a duet, seen in Maze of Life or Light the Fire Up in the Night. But on her own and in slower songs, she's damn good.

Lyn sounds odd in the intro, which may just be me needing to get used to her voice. She gives some good character to the whispered parts(You think you know me, huh?) and the song from the first 20 min. and PV 3 she sounds fucking amazing. I have hope for her, though she says a rap part in the full version of the intro was the worst for her, so let's see how that goes. She's the first non-Jap we've gotten.

That reminds me, I forgot Shuhei Kita and Mayumi Fujita from P3P. Thoughts on them?

He's talking about Persona 4 Golden

He thinks they're gonna Pokémon us.

Probably represents Japan's Nigerian demographic.

During the 20th century they came as factory workers in Japan, but those jobs closed down. As a result, the majority of them now work for gentlemen clubs, bouncers, and street jobs.

There was a bald black G-Man in the intro too.

Nope, that's a screen of the Hawaii vacation.
You would probably be right about the black security guard in the casino, though.

Speaking of Hawaii, MegaTen games rarely take us to the USA. I wonder how well P5 handles that.

Hawaii is the USA, but it doesn't really feel like it when you're there. Apart from the fact you don't need to deal with passports or anything, it mostly feels like going to a different country. It feels very singular and different from mainland America.

You steal Futaba's heart partway through the story if one of the screenshots was accurate. It's doubtful she's the traitor. I think it's Moon guy.

Rise will never return to being voiced by Laura Bailey
;_;

She might if she appears again and Laura's free.

If she's not too "big" like Troy Baker.

It still hurts when Le Cuck's sister ruined Rise for me, now i can't get that image of Burch's face on Rise

It helps that I only heard a few disjointed clips and generally ignored DAN for seeming retarded.

Must suck for you though. Time to choose a better waifu.

Luckily Matthew Mercer is like the perfect Troy Baker impersonator. I didn't even freaking notice when Kanji got replaced.

Guess you're right.
Persona isn't short on cute girls.

I mean, damn P5 is looking amazing in that regard so far.

Does have alot of qts.
I'll choose Anne though.
I got a thing for twintails.

Solid choice.

I'm holding out hope for a guilt-free harem option

...

That wouldn't fit the pattern of what they've done so far. She's already had two lead roles in a Persona game: Rei and Rise. History indicates she wouldn't get another.. Yuri Lowenthal, for instance, said he wasn't hired for the game. So they go to new wells, it seems, after they've had their time in the spotlight.

I've been saying that for weeks, man. They don't give up. Wait, did Yuri actually say that somewhere?

Matt was a surprising treat as far as replacements go, though I fear that role may pidgeon hole him as discount Troy. He was Valvatorez in the Disgaea 4 remake, and I think he voiced Sigma in ZTD as well.

I bet you're the same fool who thought Caroline or Justine was a dude.

twitter.com/YuriLowenthal/status/740329714485600256

Nice. The guy's a decent VA, but I'm tired of hearing him EVERYWHERE.

One thing I hope for is to be able to date the Christmas Cake. I've been teased fit too damn long Atlus. Toriumi had feelings and wanted to date, then I died. Then they wouldn't let me step up and be the husband and father Eri and Yuuta deserved. THEN they fucked up Sayoko's S. Link three ranks in. THEN Margaret's a FUCKING TEASE.

The games theme is slavery to society and finding freedom by breaking culture norms. If I can do so by being a thief, I should ALSO be able to by fucking the Christmas Cake. And this time we've got Goth Nurse, Maid Teacher, and a photographer.

I… Fuck, I just want a nice young woman.

Cool. Not even as a background voice.

Here's something I don't think we've talked about. How do you feel about the Protagonist having more of a personality? Does anyone here know what the Japanese think of it?

Bump, as I'm really curious about this.

I'm really interested in how they handle his thoughts during the situations in which he does think. I think it's also refreshing to not have another purely blank slate like Blue Jesus and Yu. Granted, they had a bit of personality through their stances and some of their dialogue options, but overall they were the pure vessel for you to step into. I'm also happy that the P5 Protag is getting a shadow self which hasn't been a thing for the protag since P2:IS and I think they pulled Tatsuya's Shadow off very well. All in all, I'm hype.

Goddamn fucking truth. The Christmas Cake in this game is off the charts. Kawakami, Tae and even Oya are all tasty as hell and I'll be super fucking disappointed if you can't fug any of them, especially the teacher because that's a fetish of mine.

I think it's pretty cool that the narration is first person now. I mean, you could always assume the 2nd person narration in the previous games was at least partially colored by your protags personality, but it definitely seems more defined here. The protag even has a few voiced lines in cutscenes, and overall I'm excited about that.

The protagonists of P1 and 2 had a lot of personality thanks in part to the contact system. Tatsuya is probably the persona protagonist with the most while P4 is more like a blank slate. I don't really mind this change in P5.

Nah, Maya was, given that she was previously characterized for a whole game and all her dialogue options reflect that.

We can say the same about Tatsuya. Both P2 games star the protags with the most personality. Tadashi wrote that shit really well.

I'm going to miss that smug guy and for writing himself a waifu

Yeah but EP Tatsuya would probably be very different from IS Tatsuya due to the whole crazy street preacher, knows about the world ending sort of thing.

Tamaki was too good for him. I love when the gang went to the Aerospace Museum and they popped up in their dumb costumes.

True

Are you guys going to watch Daybreakers when it comes out or avoid it because of spoilers?

Probably not, I didn't really see the point with the other adaptations of the persona games to anime other than another source of income from the brand of course

I'll just see if we get a name for the Protag out of it. I hate having to come up with a Jap name.

I see it as a more detailed version of the games characters.

Agreed.

Do you mean in design or writing, because in almost all cases the game has more room to write them and thus makes the characters better.

More the character interaction. In the games it felt unnatural that only 1 person could talk at a time, so the animes make the character interations much more fluid. Thats really the only reason they exist.

Ehhh I don't really feel one character talking at a time is all that weird. I mean, that's basically how it works in anime too. If everyone was talking at the same time it would get confusing. Typically it's: one person says a line -> other characters react to it. I guess in anime you can show more reactions at once, but get the feeling more detailed character models and animations will make that problem almost entirely disappear.

Maybe. Ill watch the anime after i finish the game. if the game isnt censoredif it takes burch VAing for the game to not be censored, i would gladly take it

It still hurts

Atlus rarely censors unless forced too, hell they even uncensored the gore for 4A

Burch is a talentless shit that can fuck off, but I don't understand how people can be THIS autistic about this. Rise herself is still fine.

Which one did she play Rise? DAN?

I will never forgive the OP for what happened to this.

Yeah, DAN. the main reason i didnt get the game. Voting with my wallet i suppose.

I'm not sure how Burch could screw up voicing a slut. It's the one job she ought to know.

you should really just appreciate the bump for your cuckime game and stop being so goddamn new

Rise probably wasn't a slut, but she seemed to be the one that liked to tease guys.

Does the social link end with him coming on to the PC and the committing sudoku for failing to restore the empire

I only played Persona 4 vanilla on the PS3. Never bothered with any of the spin offs.

Rise is still pure in my mind.

The P4 spin offs all seemed shit to me.

Not videogames

OH SHIT!

I thought Persona Q was pretty good. I didn't even mind Burch's character in it. Didn't even realize it was her until months after I'd beaten the game. But yeah, PQ is a pretty fun romp even if it's mostly fanservice (not the sexy kind, the other kind).

The Fighting games are good(gameplay wise, don't bother with story) and PQ… Well same thing. Good gameplay. Avoid retard story and characters. No comment on DAN as I dislike rhythm games.

If it's not video games, then what is it?

Fun Fact: Yukiko's English VA had a role in Revolution 60

And? Most voice actors are extremely mercenary. Anything from commercials to games is on the table, even if the game is shit.

Yup. Even Star Ocean 4 got Laura Bailey.

Yeah I was bit harsh. Okay games just not Persona. What does a rhytm game have to do with Persona?!

Seemed like Atlus just needed money.

Truth. Lots of famous actors do commercials in Japan and now China.

And videogames get A list Hollywood because of the paychecks. See Kevin Spacey.

Just pay enough money and you can bribe anyone to voice your game.

Party Cooperation have been revealed.

Morgana-Magician
Makoto-High Priestess
Haru-Empress
Yusuke-Emperor
Anne-Lovers
Blonde guy-Chariot
Futaba-Hermit

That's what most people were predicting. That leaves Justice and Strength. No word on Goro, then.

I was certainly wrong. I pegged Makoto for Justice, Goro for Emperor, and Yusuke for Strength. Goro's definetly Justice in this case, which leaves Strength, likely the Twins.

Probably, though I suppose it's possible with the whole prison theme the twins could be Justice too. Whichever one Goro is will be odd, though. Typically Justice and Strength are fairly early on arcana. Goro will be, by far, the last party member to join and, outside of Judgement, probably the last link to unlock.

Additional interesting note: apparently you absolutely can cut class by getting the Temperance co-operation. That's a pretty big change. Also they cautioned against dating more than one person, so goodbye harem route, I guess.

Persona Q is somewhat of a love letter to fans of the original. Not only does it offer similarly great the tile-based dungeon crawling and combat flexibility, it also makes brilliant satire on how awful the writing in main Persona development has become. This will, of course, fly right over plebs' heads as they complain about "ruined" characters that were no good to begin with.

DAN is alright, very servicable rhythm game if you're into them, and I can't be mad at the fact that it is not only canon, it's the very last game in P4's personal timeline. Atlus ended it with a dance party.

It's something nice for Rise fans (if you aren't triggered by Ashley Burch), it's stupid fun, and it introduced some cute idol girls if you're into that kind of thing.

Considering Rise was an idol, it was pretty much an easy decision. I doubt there was anything regarding Muses in the game since that would be an easy nod to the older game's fans. Unless I'm wrong and it's very subtle. Obviously the group wouldn't be together, but still.

WAIT YOU'RE TELLING ME THIS GAME HAS A SHORT HAIRED GIRL NAMED MAKOTO WHO FIGHTS WITH HER FISTS? i wasn't following this game very well to avoid spoiling too much

WAIFU
CONFIRMED

But user could you imagine the step? IS GENIUS

My skintight suit fetish is very pleased. I don't mind there being a consequence for the harem route so long as I can still do it. Not that I would want to have my heart ripped out for ripping out their hearts,

Wait til you see what her persona is

As if I needed further incentive to go after the teacher/maid.

There had better be a better deterrent than "You might feel kind of bad on Valentine's Day, except if you went for harem/cheater status in the first place you probably don't give a shit to begin with, whoops!" for this if they actually want people to take this seriously.

perfection

STOP MAKING THE MC HAVE A PERSONALITY OUTSIDE OF PLAYER INPUT

MAYBE I WANT TO PLAY AS A MATURE, SUAVE ADULT AND NOT SOME OBVIOUSLY RETARDED KID

WHO MAKES IT THAT OBVIOUS, ANYWAY?!

They started this with P4 and it only got worse, it seems. They can't go one cutscene without the protagonist doing something no rational minded player would do.

You make the girls peep on you, as a man.
Only boys peep on girls, and only retarded kids make their peeping obvious.

Also, having your cast, especially your female cast, defame and apparently beat-up your male protagonist like this makes him out to be a bitch.

I don't play bitches.

what

Persona 4:Golden is the best version, despite the awful amount of fluff and random mandatory associations with Marie. Part of the reason to own a Vita.

Also she's confirmed 16 in Golden, which is the last time they had Laura Bailey.

The PSN had P4 available for the PS3 with their PS2 classics.

LMAO BUT DOOD ANIME YU WAS SO FUNNY
DUDE ANIME AND PERSONA FIGHTER YU DUDE

We already know P5MC is not a very bright person.

Zorro is pretty much silver chariot.

Hmm really? So it actually makes fun ot the stupid bad writing and the plebs didn't even noticed?! I suppose I will have to give this a chance. I was going to ignore it completely since, not only is based on 3 and 4, but seems that something happens in the end that makes everything that happens in Q completely worthless, so no point in playing it lol. However, if it's actually playable and it's a satire of the writing of those games, then it's another story.

That's pretty much what I took from it. Makes more sense than the alternative, anyhow. Nothing about the game comes off as serious.

I personally think that user i reading in to things. It's pretty much top to bottom fanservice. But hey, whatever makes you happy.

The game says enemies will in some way telegraph they're going to unleash a devastating attack, but that didn't happen.

You're not supposed to fight those bosses until you're halfway through the next dungeon.

There's a reason you get a shit ton of courage for taking them down. Wait for the next dungeon and then take it on after you beef up a bit.

The weapon from the castle gives Yukiko +50 SP so it is an alright weapon. The only reason I did the extra bosses though was for the courage points it gives you.

Calm down, self-insert autist.

Silent Prtagonists are a wasted character slot to suck the player's Mary Sue cock. I'd rather play as an interesting character with an arc than just some empty, often expressionless guy that's "supposed" to be me.

And it seems like they're gonna give this guy some development, what with his rehabilitation. He's kind of brash and cocky from what we see in the intro, and he smirks like a goddamned madman. I like that. He's more interesting and I enjoy playing as him more.

You see that, Square Enix? SHOTS FIRED

Beating that boss early on is just a challenge of patience and nothing else. You just have to play long enough to get lucky with the RNG.

I still can't believe I lived to see Square Enix be scared of competition with Atlus.

If only Atlus had worked harder to have a simultaneous worldwide release instead of delaying their overseas sales by five months, essentially making it a back-down from Square, it might have been interesting.

Atlus Japan hates Gaijins and treats everyone not Japan like third world monkeys, they only back down when Japan threatens to boycott.

WHY DOES THIS GAME LOOK SO SHIT

SE's biggest problem is their excessive budget spending on unnecessary shit, while Atlus' biggest problem (besides missing their best people) is their abhorrent lack of synergy/cooperation with their USA branch.
Atlus are gonna need to make some serious improvements on that front if they ever want to compete with anyone outside of Japan.

Also, this is a pretty good pairing.

They actually don't have to since they care about Japan money more than anything else.

Ah, so that's why Sega liked them.

Maybe there was a back room deal to give SE the Amerivan audience while P5 dominates in Japan. I assume America is too the Jap game market what China is to the American movie market.

If that were true Persona's massive success in the west wouldn't have prompted them to completed change their business model to marshal all their resources around it.

Persona is 3.28 million sales in Japan everywhere else is 2.72 million Sega said that Persona had moved over 6 million units so yeah they don't care about the West

You will never learn japanese

If they insist, fair enough. All the more motivation for me to learn Japanese, and less motivation for them to ever censor anything. That's a silver lining at least.

Indeed.

Bull. Fucking. Shit.

I won't be playing this until it comes out on PC. Fuck everything.

diagonal UI that consists of black and white edges is surely eye hurting, but characters are nice.

It'll probably happen some time after Red Dead Redemption comes out on the PC.

Well, they took P5 to E3, so they're obviously testing the waters a little. But I understand their hesitation. If they dive too deep into international relations, they could end up like Capcom. And no one wants that.

You may as well have just said you won't be playing this until a PS3/PS4 emulator comes out, man.

Still can't believe all the top tier women available. I'm not even a waifu autist, but I gotta respect what's up for grabs.

Look at how fucking tiny Futaba is. That's fucking adorable. I want the Christmas Cake, but the appeal of crashing at the her father's place, being a delinquent, and fucking his daughter is enough to give me pause.

(checked)
RPCS3 in about five to ten years might be a way to play it on the PC.

It's amazing but Persona 4 came out like 10 years ago already.

You do know why there isn't a worldwide release date, right?

It's because lots of people don't want to read subs.

The dubbing is what causes the delay.

The people working at Atlus could just be fucking stupid, they nixed a nip dub track from a fighting game because muh importers.

Or SE, SE hasn't made a decent game in years for Japan unless its DQ ever since they went too deep with the international market

Square manages to get it done on the same day, dub and all. They've had six years to work on this game. There isn't a lot of an excuse.

Well Atlus could delay the game for everyone I suppose but unlike FF Persona is still a Japanese non-mainstream franchise.

Most JRPGs take 6-12 months for the Western release. It sucks but that's just how it is.

And don't forget all the merchandise, anime series and movies. Those make more money in Japan.

...

Or maybe the MC is a big guy

Oh they only get royalty from the merchandise and animes. Sony profits off those since they own the rights to it. Sony did make Persona Trinity Souls after all.

2-3 years for anything not FF from SE.

My boner can't handle that.

No topic related news, what do you guys think of battles? I hope more use can come from weapons. With baton passing and displaying weakness like they do, it makes combat look too easy. Of course, it could just be what they've shown to hype characters. But I really hope the combat is more difficult than what's shown.

I like the way their Personae appear behind them.

>FOR A ROLE PLAYING GAME
user…

THEN GO PLAY ANY OTHER JRPG FANFARE GARBAGE

THIS IS [NOT] SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI AND YOU DON'T RUIN THE BEST ASPECT OF THIS FRANCHISE–PLAYER CHARACTER–FOR ANIMU RETARDATION

They already ruined SMTIV with that trash title coming out with the femboi protag and the "anarchy vs peace" retarded choice selections

Exactly

Goofy moments are fine once in a while but could you imagine Persona 2:IS Tatsuya getting this kind of dumb-bitch seat treatment? Of course not.
Not even Persona 3's protag was this bad.

Which only makes me even more concerned about this whole thing, to be honest. I don't know if even bringing back demons will prevent this from being Persona 4-2

I miss when we fought Shades Hitler and biomecha Nazis on flaming zeplins…

Someone forgot Operation Babe Hunt and Metal Gear Hotspring.

You're in luck. These guys seem legit.

It's Hashino, nuff said. He should've remained a mechanic, 'cause as a project leader he's not very good.

Like, holy shit, why are you so angry? Having blank slates is shit and always has been. You still get a say in what he does in most cases. He's cocky because that's at the end of the game and he hasn't been caught yet. He never factored in if he were to get caught. Much like Yu never factored in that he would get arrested or that MC never factored in that maybe everything being told to him was a lie in regards to beating the boss shadows.

In regards to the flaming zeppelins bit, you have no fucking clue on what is going to happen to this game. It might not go so far as to including Nazi's, but you can't dismiss everything that's been shown that looks amazing because you're a faggot who has a blind rage for P4. P2 is my favorite of the series, but I know modern Atlus won't bring something of that level out. They MIGHT but it's very hard to say they will.

Son, that's just sad.

DSP rageguits Persona 3 at the end after Night Queen two times at the end of the game.

Golden. Reminder that was on easy mode.

Can't wait for the TiHYDP.

Don't tease me with this shit if it's not going to go all the way, Atlus.

I still have blue balls from Toriumi. They better let you fug the Christmas cakes in this game.

Toriumi, Margaret, Uehara, and Minami. Worst part about Toriumi is she was totally down to date if the Protag didn't die.

Holy shit Futaba is short

Margaret actually kisses you if you ask and it's pretty much implied she would bang the MC if he asked. Uehara can fuck you too, though it's early on and her s-link eventually becomes about different stuff. Eri was an unlikable bitch with fried egg eyes and I was never interested.

Yeah, but we actually fucked Elizabeth. She's a tease.

I hate how her social link went from "Sexy Temptation Nurse" to "Wahh, everyone leaves the hospital and forgets me". The hell It's like one writer died and another with a retarded idea took over.

Ehh, yeah. She appeals to me for personal reasons. Plus I like the idea of taking her and Yuuta from her husband, and stepping up as a good husband and father.

I fucking love how fast the combat is now, its as fast if not faster then Nocturne.

...

Holy shit he actually fucked up Persona 3?
Fucking lol

Damn, combat really is faster. That would've take three to four times longer in P3/P4.

The choices they've made to streamline the battle menu are great. All the options are mapped to a specific button and for the MC the persona menu lists all the skills from all your personas and you can just left bumper, right bumper through all of them without going to separate menu to select and then change to your new persona. It's all just through the skill menu now.

Start a private server

That all sounds sexy as fuck. P5 will be a much faster game in terms of combat, but I wonder how the pacing of the game as a whole will be.

The fact that they're summoned BEFORE you select your skill is very, very aesthetic. STANDO.

bbc.com/news/science-environment-36888541

Dutch men revealed as world's tallest

I'm afraid I'd break her in two.

Persona 3FES was pretty hard though.

I had difficulty with some of the fights, never finished it because I got burned out.

Base P3 is difficult only because you have no direct control over what the other characters will do, you can only set certain behaviors. P3P lets you direct control them and it becomes just as easy as P4. The Answer in FES is difficult because it is a grind.

Once you reach level 6 month one you never have to go back to tartarus for 4 months since Boss EXP carries you, game is piss easy dude.

Not really because you can heavily manipulate it to the point you might as well be choosing their skills.

Nigga you have access to almost all the Auto kaja skills right at the start, all you have to do is ensure they stay inherited and they carry you through 90% of the game until the SEES boss fights

Enhanced version 2.5 years after initial release.

Place your over/unders (goddammed fucking phone autocorrect) now.

I meant a grind as in it is padded and drags on.

So's the entirety of Persona 3 and 4 what's the issue here.

I'm not even going to bother insulting you. Even if it was your first time, it's a disgrace to be playing on easy. I mean fuck, Normal is very manageable and Hard scratches that challenger itch. Without the challenging gameplay, all you're getting is a lukewarm visual novel experience. Then you'll head on over here and bitch how "these weeaboo games are so damned awful, shoulda dropped a 3rd bomb on em."

Do yourself a favor and crank it up to Normal.

It was an unnecessary addition to the story.

Not really the game ends ambiguously so it ends giving you closure and a bit of insight on when and how they got their persona's.

I think the ending needed the ambiguity.

The base game is easy but FES is not.

There was no ambiguity. MC died. And that was fine. Several of the story's main themes were of death, inevitability, and sacrifice, and his death was the logical conclusion of several long-lasting plot threads and hints.

Turning him into a door was a cheapening of the story, much like the preventable deaths added in FES and P3P. Plus, it set the stage for the milking of P3 as its own mini-franchise.

The VN parts of Persona are the good parts. Otherwise it would just be Disgaea.

FES is even more easy since you have fusion skills, through the speed boost + 50% heal skill you can get 6 months of usage before the first persona in the game starts to show signs of uselessness.

The answer starts you at a level where you can get all the Auto Kaja skills and those kill the difficulty as you can use them to one shot kill most encounters and all the persona's that required a social link Excluding Talos and Messiah are available easily not even needing 4-5-6 card fusion allowing for you to always have the best persona's.

The scenes about the origins are fine. What I had a problem with is that after their character arcs I'm being generous calling then that in P3 and learning to accept and move on after death, some of them want to go back in time and save the MC. They choose this while knowing the consequence.

Really, son?

The same way you could've guessed from what was there, determination to see the promise through. The answers were pretty clear. Clarification wasn't really necessary if you have a lick of sense.

The skill sacrificed his life energy to seal away Nyx.

As for why he didn't immediately die, you can assume it's nothing more than pure determination to see his promise through to the end (which makes him a bona fide badass, so I can see the appeal) but my personal opinion was always that Philemon lent a major helping hand and a little extra life force as a reward to help him fulfill his promise.

But you don't see what it does, though it obviously kills.
White light and it then just skips 3 months, what the fuck did it do, the skill is also called great seal, what does it look like then.

is that you rusty venture?

The person that runs AtlusUSA's channel has seen it. 2016 is a fucking great year.

Wait, did DSP actually get Marin fucking Karin'd?

He got Night Queened. Charmed Aigis Diarahaned twice and turned him into a literal pillar of salt.

How many Wow's did he say after it happened

Here's a vid of it. Go to 1:20.

It's shaping up to be pretty damn good from all we've seen this year. I don't think I'll be able to resist the temptation to import knowing I'd have to dodge spoilers for 5 fucking months thanks to some retarded Valentine's Day marketing stunt for NA's release.

Pretty good. It is a fairly bullshit mechanic if you're playing it blind, but he's on fucking easy so the worst it really would have done is waste a bit more of his time. No matter how piss-easy 5 turns out, I'm sure he'll find a way to fuck that up spectacularly as well. How did he possibly take 4 months to get to that point when it's his job, by the way? I could maybe understand if it were a normal playthrough since I think the average is around 70 hours first blind run and he juggles a lot of games IIRC, but he played on easy specifically so he could rush through it and it still took him that long. He really takes his retarded audience for granted, I'd be so fucking grateful anybody would pay me at all for acting like any other fat, spergy NEET.

I know, that's the fucking worst. I'm leaving Holla Forums all together do I don't get "Boston Salt Partied". This'll be my first blind game in years and that's important to me.

That fucker just doesn't know how good he's got it. He's an ungrateful cocky son of a bitch for a guy who's livelihood depends on the whims of a small pool of fans.

The shotgun's rapid fire looks nice, but seriously burns through ammo. Seems to be practical for knockdowns rather than damage, which is pretty cool. I'm glad to see they're putting some more thought into game design this time.

Nice to know DSP is still a dumbass as always. I hope to see him react to a real SMT game someday. That would be a fucking riot.

That's easier said than done, but I hope it happens.

While I share your pain, since Hashino is still the retard in charge, we need to accept that the chances of PE 5 being just P4-2 are very high. We need to have hope for the future, when, you know, Hashino and current team are replaced. Maybe if kaneko or Satomi get back on board?

Urgh, yeah, I also remember that crap. Anyone who's saying 3 is sooooooo vastly superior than 4 clearly are pretending to forget 3 started with that childish crap in a franchise that, at one point, had you fighting fucking Hitler and talk to real demons to give you stuff. I know current Atlus is very…weird, to say the least, so they won't do something like that in PE5. My hope is for the future. And before someone say "but there are demons in 5", I say you need to look better; they're clearly not real demons, just shadows transvestites as demons. Better than the super lame designed shadows that we got in 3 and 4? Absolutely. However, the fact we're still having to figh shadows makes, like we did in 3 or 4, makes me worried it's just one of the things that will be in the game, along the totally-not-similar-at-all social link system.

Should I buy a PlayStation TV to play vita games on my TV it has a cartridge slot right?

Are there any negatives to having a at home vita?

It does have a cartridge slot, but some games don't work with the PSTV.

So far I have no regrets with my Vita TV. It allowed me to play Golden and several other games I'd been wanting to try. I ran into no issues with it.

They are still demons, they just decided to take the P3/4 style in not having it be random battles. Stop being an autismo about this shit.

Getting autistically upset about late Persona vs early Persona/SMT is one of the easiest ways to fit in around here, people will never stop doing it.

Here's something I don't think we've talked about yet:

In most of the enemy encounters shown so far, demons have some strange aliases.
But in a few cases, we see a demon's real name displayed instead.
My best guess is that a demon's true name will appear only after you've caught it for a persona, to signify you've collected it.
It might also be from analysis, but personally I wouldn't bet on it.

Remember those negotiation clips with Silky and Yaksini? They both had their aliases on in said clips, and they tell the protagonist their real names just as they join him.
Now perhaps I'm jumping the shark here, but maybe this time around the protag can only obtain a persona by learning its name. It can't be a coincidence that they've never shown fusions

I've heard that happens when you haven't scanned one, but after you do, or obtain it, I imagine, they get their true name.

There's absolutely no way there aren't fusions. There would be no point to the Velvet Room otherwise.

Well, theoretically, the Velvet Room could have other uses, like in-depth modification of personas you have on hand, and sacrifices.
That said, I hope you're right and that they're sticking with the tried and true fusion mechanic.
Whatever they go with, though, can't possibly be as bad as collecting hundreds of cards like in P2. So I'm not too worried.

Of course there's fusion, you silly goose. They haven't shown it (explicitly, I'm pretty sure one of the PV's had a hint of it with a guillotine-like structure) because there's no need to.

I was gonna say it's a staple of every Atlus RPG, but then I remembered SMTxFE. Did that have fusion?

NO MARIE, NO BUY.

The system will run pirated games soon I think and you can make it run all games with vita tv whitelister.

The Velvet Room was used to buy Personas in 2, they could go back to that.

That's part of the fingerprint of the series. The minute you screw that up you begin to reshape its identity.

I was infuriated when they had Raidou talk with a VA in that Soul Hacker rerelease for the 3DS. That kind of thing is putrid.

Dropped. Stop typing like a teenager.

Also
Not good enough.
If I wanted to play a game like that I'd play every other J/WRPG in existence (post 2000's)

Oh that made me cringe, yeah, but I specifically stated "dumb bitch treatment" and not letting the player have input.

It's retarded you couldn't skip that section by not joining Best-Freind-Character-san on his typical retarded Best-Friend-Character-Idea but at least they
>gave the player the chance to not get caught by letting them play the game

And you know P5 will have an unavoidable sauna scene.
You know it.
More anime tropes out the yinyang

This is painfully true

I wonder how much of the year we're gonna be allowed to play… And how many things they're gonna hold back for the inevitable re-make. But at the very least it does seem to be the most packed Atlus game they'll have ever released.

Devil Survivor 3 when?

Okay, what's the purpose of the tag-in? As I recall, Persona's system (or at least 4's) is alternating between the groups; all allies, then all enemies. With that "Baton Touch" (please rename that to "Tag In" over here, that just sounds dumb), aren't you pretty much losing your character's turn/weak bonus?

I think you might be trading your turn with another character, so if you want that character to use their powers to hit a weakness easier you can.

And it doesn't sacrifice their normal turn?

I'm not sure, but it's not just the MC who can do it.

It seems like it operates like passing your turn in the old press turn system. So you give your turn to another character

That's retarded.
We get our choice of who to bring with us and we go use our extra turn whenever we hit a weakness.

That system would sacrifice the extra turns to switch out the character, which I can't imagine being useful to anyone remotely skilled at these games.

Meh, maybe it'd be fun for someone on a repeat playthrough.

It seems to have an additional function I didn't know about, but the wiki seems to know of and they hopefully aren't talking out of their ass:

...

So you can pass your "one more" to another and boost their stats for that attack? Sounds easily exploitable.

Just forget it had a dog as team member.

Sounds like press turn. I like it, better than p3 and 4s system.

Koromaru was the shit.

I seriously hope you persona users didn't bench Koromaru.

Exactly, it's basically a press turn. If you miss or don't get a crit, it consumes the turn normally and you don't get a bonus turn.

I used mitsuru, yukari, and aigis

Wow, just look how long that list is. This shit will wear out your scroll wheel.
Bravo, Atlus! You've really outdone yourselves, you greedy fucks.
Can't wait to see how bloated P5 will get.

Are the waifus getting more disappointing?

If you're saying that the new girls are worse than P3's and P4's, I don't think that's even possible.

The opposite. Persona 5 has the best crop so far, including three Christmas cakes.

Yukiko is the best waifu. Chie is the best one nigth stand.

What the… Have you been paying attention? P5 looks like it has the best selection of women this series has ever touted.

>Fortune Telling Girl who you wish you could marry

Shit's cash money, and I'm not even a waifu fag.

...

And that's why we hacked our 3DSses.

Should have posted the Hawaii trip as well

Meh. None of it is really anything I want.

Please god no

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY TO YOUR FANS?

!

was meant for

That… what?
what does that have to do with the horrible card farming in P2?

Petty sure he just fucked up twice and meant to respond to

The top quote is Maya's most used contact line, the bottom is the angry exclamation mark reaction demons give when you fuck up.

That's a bit of a stretch of a reference user, but yeah, I never got why people acted like P2 was good? The story's better than VN tier shit, but jesus the gameplay was awful. "go hope for the RNG to favor your rumor outcome, do the right combo spell to one shot everything that ever existed, Farm cards for personas!"
God that was awful

...

Maybe he just needs to git gud

The day he gets good is the day he loses what little notoriety he has.

So what did you guys think the West's special edition P5 goodie bag? I thought it was nicer than Japan's considering they got more digital content compared to the West's plushie and bag .

i just want the soundtrack CDs.

Burgers get the CD and so do the japs.

The Burger CD is just a "greatest hits" though, while the Japs get full OSTs.

Apart from that I guess the Morgana plush is okay. The bag looks kind of flimsy, though.

im talking about the persona 1-5 CDs in the jap special edition. am i really about to spend 200+ dollars on this game? yes

Mitsuru
"Koromaru I… I want you to stay over tonight…"

WOOFWOOF

NX file extension:

Cancel play-asia and use Amazon Japan for PS4 themes if not use Amiami for a pouch and both stores are cheaper and faster than play-asia

getting the ps3 version, and i have no interest in the virtual items. i just want the soundtrack cds and the game.

There's a fanfic about that.

link?

Amiami has the PS3 collectors edition

Only because I'm in a good mood today.

thanks user

So, who do you fags think the traitor is?

Reminder that it's possible Burch could be a VA in the game.

So fucking help me if she is I can't support the game if she's in it. Especially if she's one of the major characters.

so she is becoming a reverse slut

Moon co-op running the Phantom Thieves fansite. That's my current guess.

One does not simply unslut a slut.

You can't turn a ho into a housewife.

My money's on Goro being a double agent. Compare the amount they've shown of everyone else to him. It's suspicious.

Wait until the first 10 minutes are out they always spoil the entire plot SMT4F did it

I have gyaru/corruption fetish yet i can never fap to this shit by that artist, there's just something off…

I think it would be too on the nose for the detective to be the obvious double agent. Then again it's always a possibility. Maybe they haven't shown anything about him to have the blame be pinned on him.

Pretty sure Baker wanted to do Kanji again but was simply to busy since he's in like every game now.

Yea that boss is busted or something, the one in Kanjis dungeon is far easier, for some reason that one just does absurd damage and can one shot.

Yea, git gud am I right or what lads

Night Queen IS a super shitty boss fight in any Persona but portable because of the charm/diaharan bullshit, my strat for her on fes was to use characters without diaharan other than the MC and have the MC with the anti charm thing.

At least in portable you could cure it.

Cure what, charm? You can in FES as well. There's dis-charm and charmdi.

...

Just finished the Persona 3 TiHYDP, and I have to say I'm looking forward to the one for P5 almost as much as I'm looking forward to the game itself. The man doesn't understand fusion and the importance of registering Personae, and he's still absolute garbage at fighting. Watching him stumble through that plus the stealth and puzzles should be a grand old time.

I'm almost giddy to see this train wreck. If only we could get him to try normal difficulty.
