I risked 45bux on the former and was pleasantly surprised. It's not particularly balanced, but I'm not particularly good, so many of the nuances of the metagame escape me. It plays like a game that just got released, and Blizzard hasn't had a chance to homogenize all of the classes yet, so it's pretty fun. Only thing I've felt it's really lacking is other game modes. Payload and KotH are fun, but I'd like to see some Capture the Flag, at a minimum.
I've been playing FF because I refuse to install 18GB of hats just to play TF with my friends on days where nobody's playing Quake TF. It's good for what it is, but all of the maps I've played so far have been very complex Capture the Flag simulators. And one race map last night. That was some fuckin' rad shit.

I started playing Windlands today on my Vive. It's really difficult to describe the experience, but it was absolutely nerve-wracking in a good way.

The video and screenshots for the game don't convey the scale and sensations of heights, I was fucking sweating and getting all pumped up trying to swing about. I almost lost balance a couple of times too.

I've also been enjoying Hotdogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. Just fiddling around with all the guns and doing rounds in the GUNnasium.

Wrapping up Tokyo Mirage Sessions soon. Very surprised by how much I've enjoyed it, I only wish it had a better soundtrack because all of the battle music that you spend the vast majority of your time listening to ranges from completely forgettable to annoyingly repetitive. No complaints otherwise, they made a very stylish game for the budget they were given. Can't thank the autists who threw together the uncensor patch enough for their work because I know I never would have even given it a chance if I had to play the censored version.

Bought it on 75% sale recently and holy shit it's so fun for a budget game full of reused assets. The only thing I really hated was the top down story section but everything else was amazing, they did a fantastic job making most encounters feel different despite all the constantly reused assets, even the fact that there was only three bits of city (the city itself, the bridge and the island).

I've been trying the Quake version out and it's surprisingly interesting, the game runs on a new engine, the maps have slight changes, there's different assets. It's great. Other than that I'm getting good at Cotton 2 for the Sega Saturn. Great games!

A friend of mine has a saturn and talks about how cool as shit it is, and the more and more I see it, the more I want one myself, just for the technical aspects, not so much the games themselves.

Are there any noticeable differences in the maps like say, different architecture or something?

yes, lots of differences, some are for obvious optimization reasons such as in e1m3, the platform in which the shambler spawns above the gold key/zombie pit is turned into a sealed room, presumably to minimize draw calls and to get the game to run faster. It runs very well too, I've noticed some frame drops but otherwise it's pretty solid. The liquids texture is a bit obscured, so now water, lava, slime, etc. is using a Saturn hardware effect to give it a shaded-solid look, I'm not fond of the change, but I can deal with it.

Another notable change is in E1M1, the slipgate exit is hidden behind a wall that goes into the ground and shows off the frankly gorgeous lighting effects of a strobing-rotating red light.

You can't bunnyhop, at least not easily by sequentially jumping, but I did recall getting boosted by a grenade I shot off.

The port got a lot of attention, and I've been really enjoying playing it. Another interesting aspect I've noticed is the maps are also compressed in a way, so formerly rather open hallways are tighter and decorative background spaces are cut away to seal off rooms. I think this change is interesting, and has indeed made it more challenging. Quake was never one of those shooters that suffered from enemies you can just run past, but Saturn Quake has definitely made the combat more intimate and deadly.

I don't think it should be called a port without elaborating that it is running on a new engine, which definitely got a lot of attention.

Also, as a side note, the Saturn is absolutely gorgeous. I just tweaked the colors on my TV a bit and now it's really starting to shine. I have a hard time saying when I last had this much fun with video games, although thinking on it, perhaps last August when I started exploring the Xbox modding scene.

I'd suggest looking into a Saturn +AR cart for anyone feeling a bit of a slump. Sometimes you just need a jump from what you're used to over to something refreshingly old or something you've never experienced. To me, my only experience with the Saturn before now was Mr. Bones and Virtua Cop.

As for the H-Games, Custom Maid 3D 2 is actually a pretty nice "Maid Tycoon" sort of game, being able to make cute girls and be a fashonista fagnerd is pretty damn fun too.

I've also been looking at some Illusion games like Honey Select and Sexy Beach Premium Resort and (like all illusion games) they're just hella lewd and have nothing else to them but the lewd shit, which (in my opinion) isn't even all that appealing anyways.

Yeah, it's interesting looking at Doom by comparison, which Carmack himself botched after the engineer working on the team created a hardware accelerated solution that may have introduced some 3D artifacts like Z-flickering (Saturn, like the PS1 had that jumpy polygon rendering.) Carmack didn't seem too pleased with it, whatever the issue was, and demanded that the hardware rendering be abandoned for a software solution. While it may be faithful, it runs at a crippling sub 15FPS all too often. I don't even think I've seen it hit 30FPS outside of staring at a wall, and that's just pathetic they shipped the game that way.

Hopefully now that it's been cracked this will change and the inevitable doom homebrew happens and takes proper advantage of the hardware.

It's a 13" Dorta the Explorer TV with a built in DVD player I got on ebay because I'm a sucker for cute shit, and after checking thrift stores I couldn't find a damn TV I wanted. This was a good size, is a nice red, and is a CRT, so it fit my requirements. Also, it has fucking Dora the Explorer and Boots on it. Never watched the show but it's a great conversation starter.

I think there's a hard limit for component support on CRTs, once you start looking into them you get into that nasty rear-projection, EDTV territory and I frankly don't feel comfortable with it. With budgets like mine, a standard, small consumer CRT was ideal. I just required that it be sub 20" and had stereo audio. I got lucky and there's 3 sets of composite in for this TV. Past my low-end solution you may want to look into a framemeister or a PVM or BVM. Ring up some hospitals, local TV stations, ask to talk to whoever maintained monitor equipment and hopefully you'll get some techs to talk with.

I don't know, the Dragon Slayer was pretty fun. But Spears were objectively superior to every other weapon in the game.

I've got a shitload of mods in skyrim trying to make this enjoyable. I play for about half an hour, think of something that I might need, and browse the nexus or loverslab until I find it. I'm surprised at how easy it has been to find what I'm looking for.

The more mods I add it seems to become more and more like I'm just searching for another game entirely. Modding itself is fun though. I can't believe I haven't played around with modding before now.

Playing Atelier Totori Plus, never played an Atelier game before, but I'm glad I got this on the sale, it is pretty good. So much shit to level up and the limited time to do it makes so that you have to plan things out instead of just grinding it all. A shame I heard later games abandoned the time limit.

It really got me thinking about modifying games outside of what their developers intended to make a shit game more fun or beatable at all, as well as if the will of the original developer and how he WANTED the game to be played matters at all in how it SHOULD be played. The bosses were some fun meta stuff as well.

The subplots about how you're actually a crusader and shit fucking sucks though.

Overwatch I bought it after some friends convinced me how it was not nearly as shit as what I have heard.
I miss class based team shooters where people actually played for the objective, somewhat knew what they were doing, and there was no shitty hats.
The game undoubtably has flaws, and if you don't like class based shooters, you're not going to like it. It's pretty average, but I am having fun with it.

Lately I've been playing Dragonball Xenoverse, since for 18 bucks it seemed like quite a steal. Been having more fun with it than I expected, it's like playing an autistic self insert fanfiction but not quite as terrible as those usually get. The combat is simplistic but fun, even though I feel like some of the sidequests pull some serious bullshit to up the difficulty when it really shouldn't.

Other than that, been playing through Postal 2 for like the seventh or eight time. Hoping to get to the new DLC soon, but it felt wrong to just jump into that stuff so I'm kind of bum rushing the original seven days and Apocalypse Weekend, which, to this day, I've never fully completed.

Feels like a cheesy action movie; the club level was actually pretty neat. Feels like they have some good ideas wasted on this series honestly; the little drone used to scan some dude's eye to bypass a retina scanner was pretty neat, but it's only used once and then forgotten. They should really focus on the single player for a future game.

Treyarch's got some weird shit going for it's single player campaigns man. Black Ops 3 is a serious trip, especially once you figure out the meta narrative

Black Ops 2 also has the branching paths in the storyline that actually radically changes the outcome of several important plot threads, it even adds them seamlessly sometimes, so the player might not even know they're changing some things.

If it wasn't CoD it'd actually be pretty cool.

I, personally, didn't like the zombie maps in Black Ops 2 very much. Alcatraz was the only one that I found myself really enjoying, Tranzit sucked dick and I can barely remember the rest.

Hi-Rez's attempt at Overwatch, Paladins.
It's fucking braindead and the players can't follow objectives to save their own lives, but there's at least two of their characters that make it somewhat fun to play, both of which are almost never played. The way they handle character customization is also at least a little enjoyable.
All in all, it's a game that's kinda bland but entertaining to play. Bring friends.

When VII hit it big the franchise was too big to kill. Also the playstation was now a monster. But let's not forget the flipside of their autism, like spergs insisting that VII's popeye bodies was better. These faggots would argue forever but the VIII faggots were just way more committed to defending it. Defending VIII became a badge of honor for them, like a cult. They prophesized that those who didn't like VIII would be left behind. Before IX they insisted that VII fags were on the wrong side of history and that the style of VIII was the future. Then IX came out and BTFO them hard. Ironically IX underperformed, but one of the reasons was because VIIfags wanted more VII and VIIIfags felt betrayed. VIIIfags were dreaming of more nonsensical plots, more brooding, and more "it's just like one of my japanese animes," and "it's better because they're no longer competing with DW and PS," and "VIIfags are just mad that they can't understand the story." Perhaps time has proven them right because to this day most people don't understand the story. Most FF fanboys in general can't recount off the top of their head what happened in VIII.

Since XIV is coming out soon I decided to go back and play 98 as well as XIII so I didn't feel rusty when XIV released. I remember playing 98 casually after school in the arcades as a kid but I never really fully grasped how well this game is made now. Evasive rolling, short jumping, long jumping, proper combo timing into supers made it so satisfying to replay. XIII is easily one the most prettiest sprite games ever made, even though it lacks as much moves 98 did its still a very enjoyable experience.

Just raid event fobs, they never retailate.

Now they are on the Skulls attack event, so I can't even get a good number of resources nor have time enouth to fulton the containers. Of course I could just grind the event now I managed to exploit their spawn point.

An actually fun Age of Empires clone. Dinosaur riders, mammoth riding vikings, and fun base building.

FOBs are impossible unless you know the method and the route.
Take a stun shotgun, either the silenced sleeping pistol or the shield (to cover your back), the combat armor, a bunch of decoys, a silenced weapon that does damage (to shoot down drones) and try to never stay too much above the platform.
