I like the idea of maximum comfy but does everybody work together towards something? Like building a village or some shit? Also, will I be able to easily find my way to where all the 8ch shitters are playing? I'd hate to install this and get a feel for it only to be unable to find you guys

We all work to improving ourselves and finding a niche in which we can help the village or we go and start up a peaceful cottage by the water alone. as our whole village is a waterfront vegas strip in layout.

I am not with the main village, but yesterday someone was kind enough to convert me to the main kingdom, so if I have a question or build a guard tower I'll be allied with folks. I just kinda' wander and grind skills, build things and upgrade my shit. Once I'm bored of an area I pack up, unlock the doors on my old spot and move on. There are more than a few mines with untapped veins across the landscape that I've left.

I don't really know, I kinda' play it like I played runescape. Only now I've got carts to haul shit, boats to sail the seas with and I can say "nigger" without getting banned.

Making a house comes in a bit, while you grow accustomed to the game I reccomend making a cart to haul shit around in and store things in while you log off. Your inventory is safe when you log off but you might gather hefty shit better left in the cart.

Yes. It's not super hard to raise meditation on this server though, the rate of skillgain here is much higher.

The important part is that the time it takes between meditation ranks is still decreased.

So I have been fooling around with the client code a bit, trying to make a simple mod on my own.

I just need to know the quickest way to recompile this shit back to its original form.
All I did was change the values on some files but decompiling a jar spawns a billion little files and I don't know how to get it back into a .jar format.

There are aspects of this game that I like.
I like the sheer depth and complexity of the inventory/crafting systems, for example. I like the mining through rock and making your own tunnels.

However, you should be able to prospect from underground so that you can mine without going absolutely insane.
Also, there should be some kind of quick-repeat that lets you use slope-altering commands like Dig or Level about 30 times per second so you can rapidly landscape. Sitting there for two hours just to make a mine entrance - never ever again.

You can prospect rocks mined underground though? At high levels this tells you what iron veins are nearby, up to 7 tiles away in every direction, I think.

I migrated from the other server and I don't even have a silver to my name.

its 4 silver 21 copper minimum to start even the most basic sized deed. if you do not have any access to a token for banking, you have to get that entirely through fighting mobs, average bounty is something like 30-40i i'd estimate so you have to kill about 1203 mobs assuming average bounty of 35i.

if you've already drained the trader without buying back 10%, you've fucked his ratio already and he'll never get more dosh from the kingdom fund. this is also assuming whatever kingdom hes aligned to even has money in their fund, which usually comes directly from deed costs and upkeep, of which there are only 2, maybe 3 deeds total and I can't imagine their upkeep costs are very high.

no offense richfag, but having an admin who is entirely unfamiliar with wurm's mechanics and economy systems is a mistake.

People can forage for a shitload of money. All we really need is some way to bank that money rather than a trader to leech shekels from. Add an area with an unbreakable and undrainable token, problem solved.

Foraging is inconsistent as hell, sometimes you can get lucky and find a silver, but other times you're foraging for half an hour and fail to find even a copper.
It would be better if the bounties were upped.

there has been two settlements but is currently one.

The options have been selected to ensure that the amount of settlements stays low.

What kind of experience is supposed to come from that? It's not fun, interesting nor does it add any sort of challenge. You seem to have a weird tendency to make certain aspects of the game needlessly tedious for no good reason.

It's supposed to make players stick together. Instead of 30 1-man settlements, you'll get 1-2 settlements with 15-20 people each. And since there's a bit of focus on playing together, it makes sense to enforce that in some way, especially since the game is PvE, not PvP anyway.

But that said, you ought to remenber that this is artificially forcing people to stick together. It doesn't feel good for some people and it has it's fair share of problems.
Some people want to see what it's like starting their own settlement and it's a part of the content they are never gonna do this way.
Other's simply don't like joining a town full of people where their contributions are gonna feel meaningless, surrounded by other players and yet still feeling alone.

There certainly must be better ways to reward players sticking together that feel better for each individual person than just saying "no, you can't play your way".

I did it to go from 1 to 50 ~ leatherworking, that meant 80~ effective, which let me EASILY reach 75QL studded leather

It works as a weird mix, it projects an sphere of influence for Fo, but you can pray to Magranon and Vynora on it.
It doesn't look like you can convert to the gods at it, and it doesn't project the white light beam.

The map is one large continent, with 1 large island to the south-east with a small island close to that, the PVP island to the west. and then 2 smaller islands to the north east, one of them being the one i am on.

Well the altar is being all sorts of weird, Joe is a mag follower, when he prays, it says he is praying to Fo, then when he has done his prayer, it says he send his prayer to Magranon.

Well, I was going to drop a tent for you then transfer it to your ownership, then you could kill yourself and respawn at it. Once you were here I could convert you, then you could transfer ownership of the tent back and kill yourself again. After that you'd choose whatever spawn point is closest to your home and walk back, mag follower status intact.

There's no penalty that I'm aware of that'd actually be noteworthy on this server, but you can look it up on the wiki yourself.

Settings is not working for me, any fixes?

That is unfortunately a bug with the game version the WRC client is running, i remember someone fixed it somehow, but i can't for the life of me remember what the fix was.

Found a quick fix by using the Wurm Online settings and then dragging over the saved gamesettings.txt

Fix the fogspider code spawning thousands of them across the map.

Just get the server mod that makes boats fast regardless of wind.

The mystery has been sort of solved.
It is because any kingdom that is not MR has no deeds, so the server thinks that the other kingdoms are defeated, and therefore removes their guards towers.
The fix is simple, get the other kingdoms a spawn deed, to make the server think the other kingdoms are alive and well.

I am at 3.6 with 70(90 eff) mining and a 70 pick with no enchants, nor rarity on my pick, which should decrease the action timer by some amount that it's hard to guess how much by the code (I think it was a 0.3/0.6/0.9 float that was rounded to 0 when converted to int)

78QL pickaxe with 88 effective pickaxe skill.
My other character has a 60QL pickaxe 51 effective skill and has the same timer. No enchants on any.

They'd all need to be 60-70FS at least, which I really doubt they are as this server has nothing but generic spawns and uniques/rift creatures.

Odds are HoTS will get the first kill, because they actually have healers. Unless I'm mistaken the WL factions don't have anyone that's a Fo priest.

The key factor is having someone who can actually heal a tank through burst damage. Lib priests can fill that role due to having every key spell in the game for some reason, whereas WL needs a Fo priest specifically.

lib priests have only the AoE heal spell that not only REQUIRES an enemy in its range but also chooses who it heals at random. want to heal the tank thats at (dying)? too bad, you heal the sperg who isnt even in the combat and had a 1dmg wound and is at (healthy).

I wouldn't worry about that. The closest thing to a rule I've seen since WRC was that bit about running cross faction alts and at one point there were people asking others not to draw things that'd be visible on the WRC world map incase it hurt someones feelings, but that's about it.
