Fallout 4 VR salt party

YOU CAN'T MOVE IN FALLOUT 4 VR, ONLY TELEPORT WITH GRENADES

When were you when they taken your ability to walk in vidya?

Unsurprising considering it's VR.

I got a vive and teleportation is pretty much a requirement unless you're driving or flying a thing.

Your character moving without you moving feels incredibly shitty and is nauseating, especially in first person

Gee user, you almost make it sound like VR wasn't made for gaming.

While i still think fallout 4 is complete shit, it does sound interesting to try modded fallout 4 in vr. IMAGINE THE PORN!
It will probably run like shit though.

Here is a free idea to any of the VRfags which Bethfags could have fitted into the lore; PC is a second head on the body of a mutant which has to be told where to go.

But then again we all know the real issue is the fact shit can't be rendered fast enough unless the rendering point of view is static.

Jesus fucking Christ, what people have always wanted was 3D, and not VR, most people when they think VR, they think sitting on a chair, or a sofa, with a visor on their head, and a controller in their hands, Oculus and all the extra tat, would do a thousand times better, if that was their aim, without the motion controls bullshit.

VR is complete fucking cancer. And it costs money.

don't you get used to it, IE getting nauseous in a car?

...

I didn't even know Fallout 4 had VR support.

So this is where all the pre order money went to huh?

VR only works for games where you sit in a cockpit like a flight sim or a hypothetical mech game. Otherwise it's absolutely fucking shit.

I am actually very happy it's turned out this way because the type of faggot who would buy a VR helmet to play meme games deserves to be disappointed.

fallout 4 is a good game though
i imagine itd be something like riding in a car. you have to get used to the experience
i wouldn't mind having to only play 1 hour sessions at a time if eventually i'd be able to go through a few hours at a time

I don't really care about Fallout 4, but as someone who likes and bought VR, I really fucking hate this trend.

Tons of pussy faggots say they get nausea so they took mouse controls out of VR. They get nausea on the simplest things.

They're complete pussies. I've had a DK2 and HL2 VR and Star Conflict - mouse control games where you move the camera with the mouse - worked awesome. I sold that and got the CV1 and it's a huge fucking downgrade for this reason.

Now make fun of me for buying into the VR meme. I got it mostly to make VR games, and every time someone tries my demo, the complaint I get is nausea and "add teleportion for movement". VR fags are killing their own product.

Then again if the normalfags get motion sick too I guess it was always doomed.

Don't buy VR. You already knew that, but it's shit. It could be awesome but they've chosen to make it terrible.

Forgot your Todd image

...

I thought they already do this with Skyrim and peoples seems okay with it. This is back during oculus dev kit. Why the sudden change now?

Why dont they make it like second monitor? You can use keyboard and mouse while still having head movement.

I fell for the VR meme
Should I off myself?

The DK2 was like this but they took it out for the CV1.

You basically can't get the mouse onto it.

...

...

Pay for a 3 day subscription to virtualrealporn.com/ download all the vids that look nice in highest quality

And laugh at the plebs who will never experience such amazing porn that is almost better than my real life experiences.

Because there have never been games where you play as someone who is either completely stationary or in some manner of vehicle.

Why don't you describe your experiences?

How does the DK2 work with mouse though? What happen if you look left but move your mouse to the right?

If people repeat this enough times it will become truth, so people will be encouraged to buy omnidirectional treadmills.

...

Depends on the game.

Half-life 2 had decoupled aiming which was amazing, where there's like a square on that's 50% of your screen, in the middle, and you can move the mouse freely in there to aim.

If you moved it to the right/left it would move your character and view like normal. So you could play while sitting.

It was glorious and they destroyed it.

...

you know, a mech game would really benefit from VR, using gears and levers to move, but no, they won't ever do that.

Kinda like playing FPS with a motion control, which is shitty because you can't turn 180 quickly

Only games I have are the free ones that came with the pre-order bundle, Space Pirate Trainer, The Lab and Virtual Desktop.
The free ones are interesting for about an hour. Space Pirate Trainer is real neat for a few hours. I use Virtual Desktop to watch Mongolian cave paintings every so often.

like arma 2's head look and aim where you could move the reticle independant of moving the viewport?

You can turn at the same speed you would any fps with mouse controls user.

Arguably faster since you can turn + look physically

Check out subnautica VR, it's pretty comfy

Teleporting is common in VR "games" because so many people get motion sickness by gliding their perspective through VR without their body sensing any movement. This is the biggest failure of VR & why it may die despite all the money being thrown behind it.

THEY'RE JUST WEAK, IT'S FINE

FUCK

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

normalfagS AGAIN

motion sickness faggots are weak and should be purged
faggots just need to get through it and get used to it

Can confirm, I've tried Vive on a test stand a few days ago, no motion sickness at all.

>>>/out/

Teleportation seems entirely more jarring and the antithesis of why this shit exists. I don't care about a few loud faggots that can't deal with it. Bet you'd be real fun on a boat you load of manladies.

...

This.

They're ruining VR.

...

So why don't developers apply the same logic used for VR vehicle games to VR first person games by changing strafing to rotating? Better yet, just copy fucking RIGS. Holy shit, devs are retarded.

...

Last I checked, human head cant turn 180. And a mouse is more precise and faster than motion control. This is not even an opinion, its a fact.

I was talking about using the mouse, not motion controls.

I don't care for motion controls

Bethesda had one fucking job.
Now they're killing VR.
Why is the world so shit

...

How do Holla Forumsirgins feel that there are people getting paid millions of dollars a year to play gookclick or LoL?

Are you retarded?

I hope they know how to invest because most of first gen pro-gamers are done with and newer generations develop absolutely no other skills to earn a living.

user, i am scared where this planet is going

humans were a mistake

The majority of people have no idea how to invest at their age anyways.

...

He's right, turn your head 180 degrees from rest.

...

Current "VR" is shit.
Until they make some kind of science fiction-tier machine that allows you to experience things that are not real but feel as if they are, it's not worth bothering with.

Besides that, this teleportation nonsense is the worst.
Occulous ships with an xbone controller and they can't even make use of it.

Because it doesn't use the same logic. In mech/aircraft games, you sit in a cockpit, the head movement is limited inside the cockpit only, you move the mech using the controller thus avoiding the conflict of character movement and your head movement. In FPS game like FO4 or half life, there's some irregularity between your head movement and your character movement that may causing motion sickness

But I can move my body dipshit, my head can go 180 or more even by just moving my shoulders a little bit

my bad, forgot i wasn't allowed to have fun

you might be retarded user

Is there a vr game that does movement well? Not counting cars and spaceships and the like since your body doesn't have to move.

Isn't that literal rape?

...

doesn't count, you have to move only your head.

No. There was HL2 with decoupled aiming but that doesn't work anymore.

are you guys fucking retarded?

...

Just remove the fucking cockpit then.

the point is your brain recognizes that it's not you that's moving, it's the machine around you that's moving
retard

What. Yes it counts. The technology was built to make it count you dumb shit

Mouse with VR pretty much similar to motion control by the way you describe it where there an area where you mouse can move freely to aim. In normal game, you aim where you look because the reticle will always be dead center on your screen, but with VR, you dont aim at where you look at.

VR was a mistake.

this crap costs 4 hundred muricucks and they fucked it all up because they dont want to include a multi direction treadmill

what about a VR game where you sit at your desk playing a game, so your mouse movements and everything make sense, except the actual game is 3D and there's a lot of depth in your screen.

maybe have shit pop out now and then too

VR is fucking incredible. It's still got some kinks to work out but the experience it offers is unmatched.

RAPE EQUALS NON-CONSENSUAL SEX + POWER, ONLY WHITE MEN CAN RAPE

Holla Forums was a mistake
why do people who whine about degeneracy so much argue about elves in fucking hentai game threads

The vive is actually quite decent, solely because of roomscale and the controllers, being able to walk around IRL and have your character move also is fantastic, as well as leaning around corners.

That said, it needs a bit higher resolution still and better lenses, but the technology is there.

Do note that sitting games where you use a normal controller or keyboard to do shit in are abysmal in VR and simply a hassle, games in cockpits are exempt from that, however, even if they are not as impressive

You do know what turning 180 degrees mean right. Peoples cant be this fucking retarded

It could work pretty well with vr, but most fags want a first person shooter or some other shit we always see.

...

I dunno what's the matter with you, but I can look behind me.

i'm euroslav, actually

If there really needs to be something stationary to maintain this perspective, just make the HUD stationary rather than move with the head. Hell, they could treat the power armor like a mech or vehicle and introduce Fallout 4 VR expansion where you play as a soldier during war time like Operation: Anchorage.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Power Armor would imbalance the game, granted, but just slap the player in some sort of weak experimental power armor or something and you're set.

...

I'm not talking about race nigger, Holla Forums is a majority on this site. That makes you a minority

You know Bethesda wouldn't try anything cool or different like that when it can make easy money copy pasting its game into vr and some basic shit so you can move, or as we now know teleporting.

...

Bethesda took a risk with their survival mode in F4. It's even more demanding than the one in F:NV.

can you turn your head 180 degree?. Is this the result of common core math? Why are there peoples so stupid that they don't even know basic math. IF you dont know what 180 degrees look like, here's a fucking video for you

Also, we've had our Holla Forums shitstorm for the day. Let's not get on the D&C train again.

Holla Forums's fucking retarded

Yes, I can turn my head 180 degrees and look behind me. So can you unless something is wrong with your spine. Are you crippled?

why are we still caring about bethesda?

You're still a whining minority on here

here's how you turn your head 180 degrees
read closely
1. turn head all the way to the left
2. breathe deep. ur gonna need it son
3. turn on "hello darkness my old friend" by simon and garfukness my old firend
4. move head LA the way to thr right
5. congramtulanchulas

lol k

i'd say walking into a crowd of faggots would make you a minority, too, but you'd blend right in

Prove it then?

Not everyone mocking progressive is a Holla Forumsack you fucking moron

Cuz not everyone on Holla Forums is a vidya hipster, user.

but how

And you keep whining

you retards overrun every board

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be in Fallout 4. They could always make a spin-off. It could be a FPS and something similar to Republic Commando where you command a squad of armored soldiers.

Fuck you and your memes

no you just don't get it. ANY hatred for the left makes you an evil nahtzee and you better get off my board you meanie :'(

Have you never looked behind you? Do you turn your feet 360 degrees when you look around?

...

is that a problem?

Yeah it means something is wrong with your neck, dumbass.

see:

classic Holla Forums

you are my greatest ally

thought this was actually a good solution to the crybabies who can't handle VR without getting a tummy ache

Just chill out nigga.

Wasn't there someone who did movement by putting one of the Vive's controllers on your hip and having you run in place? Why doesn't everyone just do that?

This is picture of normal guy looking behind. Do you notice that the head DID NOT TURN 180 DEGREES FROM THE BODY

It's the same, you uncultured nigger!

Not everyone is able-bodied you shitlord

-I- don't, but some faggots shitting up our thread did

Looks like that head has 360 degree mobility, user. Think again before you talk shit.

For decades gamers have suffered through eye strain, hunger pangs, stiff leg muscles and ass pain, headaches, seizure inducing light flashes and even the very real possibility that the gas cylinder in our comfy office chair could explode and rupture our anuses at any given minute…

and progress is being stopped because of a little motion sickness?

have an ez mode for shitlords

It's being stopped because we're being invaded by pussies and women and Gay homosexuality fags.

Stop liking anime dicks

...

Are you unable to view the world around you? Are you wearing a neckbrace or what? I'm starting to think you're just dumb, honestly.

Are you unable to view the world around you? Are you wearing a neckbrace or what? I'm starting to think you're just dumb, honestly.

Stop liking anime dicks!

There's lots of mods for games that do it well. There is a mod for morrowind that allows you to move you head independently of which way your character is aiming and looking around.

Do you mean an Incubus you faggot?

Anime dicks give you aids! Visual aids.

I wanna fuck that thing. It's brown and smug but not a female I can't masturbate to this

I can

NO

I can't and love brown skin but I just can't. Now if it was a vagina in place of what's actually there count me in

If I was going to play a first person game in vr I was going yo do it with mods.

Of course the short man is going to casualize it, you never should have expected anything else.

...

Stop, this will make gay people fap (slang for masturbation).

/thread

Do you honestly not see the promise in VR?

i had fun once..

Teleport style movement is commonplace right now because A) It's easy to implement, and B) It is so far the least likely method to induce motion sickness.

The problem with movement in VR is that your brain is extremely fucking fussy about what it considers to be 'natural' movement. The level of sensitivity to this varies from person to person, but generally speaking it happens when it picks up character movement visually, but no movement in the fluid in your inner ears to match up with it. The disconnect is enough to lead to a reaction of nausea/vomiting.

I've never been motion sick in my life, but when I tried playing The Solus Project in walking mode, I felt a bit of discomfort in my gut because it didn't feel right. For most people I can only imagine how much worse it'd be.

So at the moment we're in a situation where everyone is trying to find the closest in-between point for movement, while keeping the brain appeased. There's a few options (like the jogging in-place option) that seem promising, but for the most part people just have to have support for multiple movement schemes coded in with teleportation as the default. It doesn't surprise me that Betheda hasn't bothered to push the boundaries, they're probably expecting mods to fix it.

Nope.

I'm really tempted to get a Vive, but I'm still not done with building my 3D printer and I know if I got into VR I would lose focus on that.

...

Stop pretending to be not gay you're gaying up everything boys are gay traps are gay making a boy feel like a girl is really fucking gay go to california it will be up your ally just like dicks you faggot homo queermo.

Liking traps isn't totally gay, just sorta. It's only natural for a man to be attracted to the feminine form, wide hips, narrow shoulders, etc.

I think dominant - submissive is a more useful scale than gay - straight.

There's no huge rush dude. If anything you may want to hold off anyway since I've heard there is a revised version in the works with better straps/fittings. It might be out in a few months.

I can understand why its stuck at this point, but like other anons I don't see why everyone has to suffer because some people have extreme motion sickness. There should be more people trying movement and getting it at a point where most people are fine or can become attuned to it, and if some people are left out, boohoo its just like having epilepsy you simply just have to find a different game. At the very least try to do movement, I mean teleporting and the non movement shit is pretty lame and honestly a lazy/easy thing to do.

Its almost like Bethesda is full of unimaginative hacks.

I keked

That's why most VR games at this point are implementing a mixture of control schemes to choose from. I didn't necessarily have to use the walking mode in The Solus Project (the default is teleport), but I decided to give it a shot and see how it was.

Still, it's a developing space and really early days. It's basically a wild-west environment right now where anything goes and people are throwing things at a wall to see what sticks. The jogging style that was being used for a fan-made VR version of Ragnarok Online looked pretty good.

I don't think it's gay to be turned on by something that looks and acts like a woman. Might be a little gay to actually fuck it though.

Now, as for cuntboys, that's actually gay. Being attracted to the body, face, and behavior of a man is gay even if he has a pussy.

This, I don't want head tracking, I want binocular vision.
Those alone would make a huge difference in games.

If you guys are going to be degenerates, why not just go all the way and make a hermaphrodite erotic sex alien character?

I don't get that image.

That's just as retarded as saying other people don't exist. Bisexuals exist, there's just a really small number of them.

But futa is not subtly erotic not is it attractive.

are you retarded? most people who go on 4chan are likely bisexual to some extent
you can't like futa / traps without being bisexual
bisexual doesn't mean "you like both sexes equally", bisexually means "you are capable of attraction to both sexes"

I dunno, I don't think human sexuality can be accurately captured on a single spectrum of straight-gay. There's definitely more to it than that.

Was this an interview about the Fallout 4 tech demo? Or that remastered version?

Futa is attractive to the fags who like it.
the 'feminine dick is straight' meme needs to die. Its brought tumblr here.

I bet almost 30% of 8ch is bi to some extent. 80% of cuckchan.

Now that I think about it, Flatout Failure waifu looks a lot like Anne Frank.

Winlands had some nice movements to it

Teleportation is alright, I hope they give an option for movement with a controller though.

That said, if they're using the vive wands, I can see why they'd implement teleportation, I don't think there are enough buttons for movement on those things.

Raw Data did teleportation is a pretty good way, where it just acts like a dash or a blink, and it's not jarring at all.

I don't know how they can handle movement at this stage aside from some kind of treadmill.

Also vanish realms is pretty fucking neato.

Bought a bunch of VR games on the cheap when I got my vive because of the summer sale.

My only complaint is one of my OLED pixels is stuck, and it's not too noticeable, spoke with HTC support and it sounds like a headset calibration issue that they're gonna fix with a patch.

Aside from that, I'd say the vive was worth the money. I play it everyday. My only complaint is it gets hot in the headset, and I sort of wish I had a fan.

something about your inner ear needing to detect motion and it being unable to causing sickness as your body attempts to figure out what the fuck's going on

Wasn't samsung designing a headset that sends electrical signals to the nerves behind your ears to stimulate that fluid movement?

I heard good things about it and can imagine it'd be easy to implement since you'd just need to have it pull information from the tracking sensors

(Like, let's say you move left, it sends an electrical signal to the left, etc etc)

Man I never even wanted VR for anything other than driving/flying games. For VR to work with other genres without some hamfisted approach like teleporting, you pretty much require one of those omnidirectional treadmills and even then movement isn't perfect.

Initially I was excited for VR once the Rift was announced but over the last few years it's become obvious that it's just another gimmick outside of driving and flight/space simulators (and will remain so until they can do real VR but that kind of tech hasn't even been invented yet)

...

You are a faggot and will be executed for it.

i wanna teleportmy dick into shantaes butthole

No. Basically there is multiple parts of you that gives the brain feedback that it relies on to get a proper feel of movement and motion. Both the flatscreens in front of your eyes and sitting in your chair fucks with your brain a bit too much, on top of that there is specific forms of movement that your brain immediately recognizes as unnatural these just so happen to be the standard of vidya movement today and they just so happen to be the fun kind of movement. Some remedies for this is stuff like having the edge of the screen block your peripheral vision propurtionally to your movement and slapping a virtual nose on. Not to mention potential longterm effects, like one where you might not be able to remember internal maps of 3D space anymore like relying on a GPS fucks your ability to navigate.

Fuck off shill.

He he he

yeah its such a waste

Next Fallout will probably be an on-rails shooter.

...

with a vr headset on, it makes sense

Faggots with shit genes ruining everything for everybody else once again.

...

we all know for whom VR is

i bet he is happy now.

Drones, all of you.

Real experiences suck, because the require effort.

You ever drive a front-end loader with no a/c? It fucking sucks.
You ever patch potholes on a street in 98 degree weather? It fucking sucks.
You ever rotate mulch with a pitchfork in equally hot weather? It fucking sucks.
Comparatively, take Viscera: Cleanup Detail, and actually working as a janitor.
Viscera: Cleanup Detail, is relaxing, because the only effort required is using your mouse and keyboard.

Working as a janitor fucking sucks because it involves being on your feet for 8 fucking hours a day, getting covered in sweat and grime, plunging clogged up toilets from fat assed, overpaid faggots, and occasionally throwing out your shoulder when dumping their day's worth of garbage in the dumpster.
The only real life experience I want is playing a video game.

But user. You can play video games without helmet and still enjoy them and get immersed into their story and atmosphere.

You don't need VR for that.

You wanted the walking simulator meme to end, user. Well, it just did.

Now its a teleport simulator meme.

i would say AR
the world of holograms at last !

and fucking pokemon go show that if they had invested more in it , you would have to use your phone screen to see a pokemon.
a simple pair of class connected to your phone would do it.

but well i guess it s a start.

oh wait ?

AR will end up getting your entire surroundings with advertisements and malware literally everywhere.

And they already doing that.

he do, he was fed with SAO and other shit concept that completly ignore what you look like outside the mmo (and assume your are neural link to the game)

only HCLW show a glimps of how sad looking you are with thoses VR mmo …

obviously …. but you know, addblock exist…

+ some movie's add may be cool

and there will be strict regulation.
because it s AR, thoses regulation will be super strict for the sake of security .
they won t be abble to simply flood your field of view with add.

Okay, crazy idea. You make a life sized (though inverted) trackball mouse. Guy walks on it. Movement.

...

That's not exactly what I mean. He is stepping and movement is showing, but what do you feel under your feet? Nothing is moving, he's just sliding his feet along a haptic surface. I'm looking for something that moves with you.

...

That's because a) there's a huge input gain and b) it can only control 2 out of 6 aiming axis so the other 4 have to be auto-aimed. You might as well have argued that complete auto-aim is superior and should be used in every game because it's quicker and more accurate than semi-auto-aim that is using a mouse.

There should be like a game where you are a robot with hands, but have tracks for movement, like Johnny 5. You hold 2 buttons as if there were like a tank/bumper car for throttle.

Steampunk mechs?

what did the "progressive" cry about?

If I wanted my wallet to feel $400 lighter I would just run towards niggers.

So like a treadmill?

Get bullied, faggot.

Like a /trackball/. Treadmill implies one direction. Trackball picks up movement in all cardinal directions.

Yeah, an omnidirectional treadmill.

shitiest thing i ever saw

he have to go forward before the "walkmouse" acknowledge he is walking forward … then this walkmouse puhs him back to the center …(and IG your character do not move)

the movement are so Erratic i can t understand why someone would make it a promotionnal video …. unless it s a trap and the thing they are actually selling in this video is the NES Zapper 2.0 (with mp5 skin?)

What the fuck does Unreal Tournament have to do with this?

There's no reason to restrict players to teleportation. I don't know what this nonsense is, but it's got to fucking stop.

I've played Alien Isolation and Subnautica in VR with WASD movement, and they felt great. I'm tired of being told that I can only teleport around my games because some limp-wristed faggots get motion sickness.

it s even worst than a " google: post apo street view" …

This is the case for the majority of VR titles. If you read conversations from people who own a headset, they will talk about how the teleporting is good are bad in any given VR game.

It's mouselook for your head.

did you forget about the teleportation gun?

one day you'll realize minorities won't be pandered to

company wants sales not your opinion

There's no problem with strafing in VR. There's no problem whatsoever with any form of traditional movement in fact. If it works on a flat screen, it works perfectly in VR.

The only thing that can feel unsettling is when the game takes control of your motion and moves you around on its own - that can feel like getting punched in the stomach.
Otherwise, the brain immediately adapts to your fingers on WASD being your surrogate "legs", and the keypresses translate into normal expected movement to your brain. You can play Doom in VR running around at warp speed and feel like it's exactly the way the universe should be.

Faggots make up less than 1% of the human population, user.

I knew you'll mention this, but even though i hate fags too this whole LBGTBBQ pandering is because of Political correctness.

It's not only about sales but the restrictions devs must follow nowdays

Trump will save us. He'll make homosexuality illegal and burn all liberals in a great and beautiful pogrom.

Devs don't "have" to do anything. Don't let kike thinking infect your mind. You can ignore political correctness and there are no consequences apart from a few butthurt opinion columns from SJW sites like salon, time and arstechnica.

well i dont give a fuck about them, but devs dont have as much space

Money talks.

I can guarantee you San Francisco alone has more money than half of the South.

Faggots have deep pockets, they lobbied for gay marriage for decades.

This is why /pol will never win.

If it works in mech/driving/piloting games because there's a cockpit, then the answer is obvious: PUT ALL CONTROLLER-BASED VR GAMES IN A COCKPIT.

In games in which you're on foot at all times, just make the Heads-Up-Display more intrusive. Make it a stationary object in front of the player that they can look at through head-tracking.

"Not putting in deliberate manhours needed to cut already developed and integrated features entirely out of a game" isn't exactly pandering, user.

Of course Holla Forums will win, the collapse of western civilization is just around the corner.

...

Faggots will always whine, you also had them cry about motion sickness when the early FPS games popped up.

i believe it

isnt looking at a screen different than having your head isolated in a virtual world?

You're making too many excuses for the devs. They made choices that put them in the shit vice they find themselves, and have nobody to blame but themselves. So fuck them to hell for choosing to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution. They can burn for their mistakes.

Visually, very. Effectively as far as orientation/disorientation goes, not very. At first it can be a bit jarring, but you adapt to it very quickly and then it just feels natural.

Any and all complaints likely come from people trying out VR standing up in some booth at some con while being jostled by people walking by. I can't imagine how so many people have problems with it otherwise - though it could be hard evidence that liberals have actual brain damage.

They even have that in the game, already. Power armor in FO4 is a fucking mini-mech. It would have been less work to to implement vomit free free-movement, rather than teleportation.

lets not get ahead of ourselves, it may just be another example of weak stomachs

Fair enough.

wait

Yes.

I thought there was already statistical evidence that shows liberals are more prone to mental illness.

sage for off-topic.

They're less likely to seek treatment for mental illness, so yes and no. The liberal culture of "accept and love who you are" encourages people with serious mental and physical ailments to just accept them rather than seeking professional help.
Illness just festers within liberals.

Can you treat a missing soul?

A bullet usually works.

...

You can make anything you want look good or bad. Take smoking, for example. Old commertials made it look good and cool, now the predominant narrative makes it look like a loser's thing. You are fucking moron if you eat whatever flavor of the week worldview they serve you instead of deciding on your own.

Manchild confirmed, I feel a sense of contentment and satisfaction after working hard on something I have to do when I'm finished. it's a shame you'll never be able to appreciate that feeling.

This is really bad and will be buggy as shit.

Sorry, i was playing some light gun games.

but seriously is this real? If it is, they must be really lazy.

That sounds awful. Like feeling relief after a prostate exam and thinking you are a better person because of that.

It's with your inner ear. When you move, fluid in your inner ear shifts which causes your brain to adjust so it remains balanced and oriented properly. When you're using VR, your brain can see you move around but when it goes to get the information from the inner ear, the fluid is still because in reality you're sitting. This mix up of information causes your brain to wig out with motion sickness.

You can take some gravol and antihistamines to combat this to a certain extent. But I wouldn't make it a routine to take this stuff every time you use VR.

They could've just made it so you get a "turn this way" signal if you reach a wall. What the fuck is Bethesda thinking.

Everytime a VR shill runs out of options they always resort to "muh porn"

Except that Texas has the second highest GDP of all states in the US

VR fucking sucks for sex mods and you guys know it.

You do completely get used to it, and motion sickness isn't a factor. I've occasionally gotten motion sick while reading on a boat or in a car on a winding road, but I've never gotten sick from VR barring severe glitches.

It's a middle ground, really. It's visually realistic enough that your brain will treat your environment as real - you'll instinctively duck if shit flies at you for example - but you're still aware of your real body sitting in a chair, so you know the motion is fake and you just don't feel sick.

Think about it this way: everybody always says that driving a car in VR or piloting a mech in VR is fine, because you're in a virtual cockpit - you're sitting down and your character is sitting down, and it's the vehicle that moves you around at the behest of your controls.
There's absolutely no difference between that and controlling a character directly. The character's head is your "cockpit", that's all. You're playing as a 6' tall meat mech.

The only people who should reasonably expect to feel sickness from VR are women and trannies, because female hormones make the brain process spatial data differently to men - and VR only simulates the spatial data that male brains use to orient themselves comfortably.

But the human head has a 220 field of view more or less.

One more reason to explain why immersion is killing video games

There is currently no VR where you can walk more than a few steps in any direction. That doesn't work well with open world games. The brain rather easily accepts movements it doesn't know yet (teleportation) as good enough, while it will not accept things it knows very well (if you do one step and it moves 30 times the distance it expects). Forced body movements and the like also don't function well. Or walking through a wall or obstacle. Your brain expects to hit something and it is very well aware of where your body parts are at each and every moment.

Teleporting might be a lazy solution, but its better than making your movement a lot faster at the press of a button (in most cases) and I have yet to see many other solutions (best ones seem to be that you are on a vehicle).

In the end, converting a non VR game to a VR game will not work for most games, and you probably shouldn't be looking forward to playing those type of games.

Immersion shouldn't really be a focus of games, and people need to stop mistaking VR for a platform. The sooner devs realize that HMDs are peripherals and not consoles, the sooner we'll return to sanity and good vidya.

Why make a shovelware tech demo that people will glance at and throw away, when you could just create a VR wrapper for an actual game and have a good time being immersed in real vidya.
All those "made for VR" games are trash. Every single one of them. But the ones that are made for everyone and just have VR enabled as an option tend to actually be full-featured games.

No surprises there.

user, games are meant to be played sitting down. You move your character with WASD or a controller, yes it's even possible to do this with a VR headset on, surprise surprise.
No, it doesn't cause motion sickness, that's just a meme spread by faggots with weak stomachs.
Yes, it does feel totally natural just like playing the game with WASD or a controller on a flat screen.

It's already been done several times. It's already proven to work and be fantastic. It's hipster faggots who don't understand technology who are pushing devs to make this "teleport" or "treadmill" or "walk around your room with a fucking headset on" cancer a reality.

If you've got an HMD on, sit the fuck down in a chair. You can still play games where your characters are running and jumping around, no sweat.

Also I've got to address this

When I was playing Alien Isolation in VR, you could get close enough to walls to lean your body over and clip your head through the wall. Guess what happened?
Fucking nothing. Heads didn't explode. All that happened was me thinking "oh, look at that, I can see through the geometry if I fuck around like this. neat."

Common theories about motion and orientation don't really apply to VR, because the brain isn't as retarded as people seem to want it to be. Thank fuck for that.

Nah they aren't, they are meant to be played however they play best. Don't be a faggot.

Yes you can play some VR games WASD style, but please, thats not the strength of VR. If you play them like that, you probably shouldn't use the VR with the exception of some games where more independent head movement is nice to have (say racing/flight sims or arma like games).

The real strength of VR is in its immersion in the world. In its 1:1 mapping of your body movements. It can be kind of nice for some other games, but generally its no real improvement over a flat screen.

I am not suggesting we need those treadmills or whatever, they will probably be nice once they get here, but lets just have some games that are developed for the stuff we have already. For most games you do not want to take what we have right now and slap a VR on, it might work, it might be slightly better than it used to be (at the very least it will force the devs to optimize their games for higher FPS), but its not too spectacular and not worth the current price of VR.

Also, on that note, there are really only two VR headsets worth getting, either the Vive if you want full body movement, or the OSVR. Don't get a rift or whatever.

I guess you are a bit more used to it then, for most people, it feels horribly wrong, or at the very least, it drags you out of the immersion you were feeling. That said, if you already play with WASD, you probably never had that immersion anyway.

The immersion is unparalleled, user, and I don't see what your input method has to do with that.
It's like you're trying to tell me that I can't be immersed in a story because I'm reading it from a book instead of experiencing it directly.

If you want your walk around the room gimmick shovelware, have at it - but just know that it's a dead end and it will kill VR if faggots like you keep focusing on it.

Nah. Once you are susceptible to motion sickness that's it. You will always get motion sickness. You might recognize the triggers and avoid them but it's for life. NASA been researching methods to rid astronauts of motion sickness for years and they only have come up with a cocktail of drugs.

Don't get me wrong, VR is a joke, but a lot of real life experiences are fucking awful.

I never watched SOA.

The old farts I work with can confirm, it fucking sucks. I put in a hard day's work, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy the shitty job or shitty working conditions, and the geriatrics would be on my side with that notion.
I get my satisfaction from my hobbies, finishing one of my electrical engineering projects, finishing a game, fixing bugs in my programs. When it comes to the manual labor jobs, the only satisfaction is a paycheck.

Yes. If anything having SJWs angry at your game increases sales. Getting a few emails makes no difference to anything. SJWs are like trolls in that they only go after people who respond. If it was me I would simply block all SJWs or hire someone to do it for me so I can get on with work. I'd treat most game "journalists" the same way.

I do feel a little sorry for some poor cuck who works for EA or whoever but then again they did choose that job.

Shh, don't tell the libcucks that.

If people get motion sickness from VR then how can they play video games at all?

This.
I've tried VR and the only motion sickness I got from it is when the character moved on their own w/o my input.
Otherwise the WASD keys work as surrogate legs, and your body compensates for the movement (so you feel like you're actually moving).

In all honesty, the only people who can't use this even with tight controls don't have the brain power necessary (or the brain structure for their neural centers to quickly compensate for said "surrogate legs"/"body movement compensating"… i.e. they're NOT gamers, and don't have the years of having the WASD acting as surrogate legs even w/a normal monitor).

this relates to my point above.
they're not gamers, and therefor their brain isn't conditioned to be able to operate in VR.

...

unless you are this guy
or a cuck nobody pay for porn

And here's the problem with today's industry in general, catering to people who aren't gamers.

It's like they want VR to just be another fad and not a new, serious medium.

Say what you want about Total Biscuit but he definitely a gamer and has motion sickness in VR and with low FoV

...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Oh, you’ll make a lovely bonfire.

They already know. That's why they're moving to Texas en masse to ruin the state, so we'll be just like Commiefornia before too long.

I couldn't of said it better myself user

It really depends on what he was playing at the time to really determine if it conforms to my original statement.
Because, as I mentioned in passing, a game without tight controls that takes away the "surrogate legs" via/non tight WASD controls leads to motion sickness inevitably.
Otherwise - if the controls are tight - I can fully get into it I feel as if my body is moving w/the WASD as my surrogate legs.

When it comes to my armchair neurologist knowledge about brain structures mostly from studying/implementing neural networks for a time… different brains conform to different patterns of neurons/axions/dendrites (connections n' such) due to the centers of the brain that are activated consistently (plasticity, functional/induction learning/etc).
So, in this regards, it's in relation to the motion centers of the brain;which include reaction time, predicting movement patterns, and other game related neural activities that induce that state of immersion into the world (i.e. said conditioning for VR).
My very thin theory suggests that gamer's brains are more tuned to this due to the conditioning of the brain for said immersive activities, however it doesn't preclude the possibility of some people, be them gamers or not, being influenced by another outside influence for that center of their brain; i.e. that part of their brain was influenced via other means which do not conform to said "game influenced structure of neuronal networks".

woop, I always mix those up
polite sage

He said that he was fine when he was moving in a vehicle but experiences motion sickness when walking around in game without actually moving himself.

You forgot the "couldn't of"

What game thou?

...

I think it was general discussions about different type of VR games rather than a single one and I can't be bothered to track down those segments.

understandable, was just curious

that looks fucking awful

Fallout 4 doesn't even have porn mods yet, and with the game's popularity tanking hard, it probably won't get much support beyond really basic shit. Especially since half the modders are uninterested in fucking with it, and the other half are too butthurt about mod piracy to put their work out there publicly.

Skyrim is still the king of porn in Bethesda games, and it will be that way until either a better Fallout game releases - or TESVI.

Besides,

The trashcan is too good for this shit.

Wait, that's from the gas cylinder in a chair exploding? I thought it was just the natural consequence of a lifestime's worth of a negative activity level, binge eating hot pockets, and washing them down with Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Why people can't just acclimate themselves to it is beyond me.

So it's a machine that takes up half a room, costs thousands of dollars, and it only enables you to walk?

Oh god I remember that thread… made me switch to a wooden chair. Still gives me nightmares.

sure Todd, big risk there.

Nah I make fun of you for buying the cv1

Not only you gave more money to that brony faggot who sold out to facebook but you also bought a piece of shit riddled with DRM

OSVR or Vive, those are the only real options

pretty good videos about vr

...

So make some shitty DLC where you're now an alien in a human mech.

I would feel nauseous too with all that lag and low fps.

Why on earth would they remove a potentially useful feature. Sounds like it could help with the motion sickness

Things like motion sicknes wrist bands and breathing would probably.

Ross from Ross's game dungeon had a neat idea of using it like a cinema VR with the image pulled back slightly. It worked for him.

youtu.be/J8H5kYesvsM?t=18m1s

I love Ross, he's a damn good Youtuber.

Step one:
Download animation softwafe such as blender.
Step two:
Download a 3D model of your waifu.
Step three: animate porn with your waifu.
Step four: OD on LSD while jacking it to the pr0n you created.

the part of their brain that registers disgust and shame is atrophied, this has been shown in several studies

they call this "tolerance"

Sour grapes and projecting: the thread.
Using VR for a first-person game is perfectly fine, and incredibly immersive, so long as the rest of the character is controlled normally (aim gun with mouse, walk with WASD, look with headset, like in ARMA but VR).
ONLY SOME (unlucky) PEOPLE GET SICK. IT'S NOT FUCKING AUTOMATIC MOTION SICKNESS.
I used to get sick (literally throw up) every time I got in a car, but I got over it. I can play VR just fine 99% of the time. Only time I feel a little weird is after playing for 4+ hours straight (which is kind of a downside, honestly; forced breaks), and little things that feel weird like character falling down suddenly.

Hey, there it is again! First two words, right away!

Guess it's overused, yeah, but I meant it in a different way.
It's not about "haha, fag can't afford VR", it's about "haha, fag's angry he gets motion sickness so can't play VR".

But that was already discussed plenty in this thread, normalfaggots always complain about motion sickness. They did so when the first FPS games arrived and they will keep doin git

I'l never buy a VR untill they start supporting linux and drop the price like 2 times less. Fuck windows only shit. I already ate a dog on nvidia-only 3d.

I believe that VR attracts the crowd that never plays video games. And they are those faggots that complain about it.

People who never played video games fear to jump high in them. Even on 2d screen.

Done watching the video.
Fuck that guy. He literally enjoys the idea of sitting in a room playing a game on a screen inside of VR.

Who would have guessed. On a related note play Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades with a Vive and you will see what VR can be when done right. All movement needs to be kept room scale or removed entirely for VR to work well, as I mainly want it for vehicle simulators where you are seated anyway this is fine by me.
unless they ever make pics related good and cheap

Oops, wrong image

Hey VR fags, controllers still exist, no one would play your garbage otherwise.

I think there should be more VR adventure games, where you are presented in a room where you must search for clues and shit. You teleport yourself by pointing out through a door or a specifically market zone transition and then proceeding to play like you played old DOS adventure games. Maybe make talking with npcs available through microphone and be just as deep as "facade".

Could even revive an entire genre.

But no, sjws and nu males will still screw this with their walking simulator tier gameplays

"Grenade" transportation is cancer. It kills the entire point of having zone transitions, and looks awfully awkward and unimmersive.

Controllers make casuals feel "motion sickness", which this thread is about basically. And devs will probably get rid of them completely soon. It will be like a piece of retro hardware, just like monitors in the future.

Done right the old "there is a tree to the east", "look in tree" could actually be pretty good but you are right about faggots ruining it to push some bullshit instead of actually caring about gameplay and atmosphere.

You're an idiot.

I have to admit, the porn is tempting. Not at the Vive's current price though.

This seems fucking stupid, why not just have the body controlled by M+K and simply have the head controlled by the player?

For babies that get motion sick by VR. Yet even those who do see 17:35 propose better solutions than fucking "grenade teleporting"

VR is just a fucking screen glued to your face
