As for losing on every issue for the past 100 years, there's some truth there, but it's not completely accurate. Gun rights, for example, have expanded over the past decades. There was a war fought over states rights/segregation that we have yet to heal from, really. A new civil war would play out much differently; this is not the 1800s.
