wait is garou on vita? interesting.

Whoops, forgot the games list, again

SAO Lost Song, I'm in the final dungeon, heading towards the final part of said dungeon, since Rainbow breaks it up halfway for story stuff. Also playing RO:Ace and some Dragon's Crown. Once I finish Lost Song (and eventually Dragon's Crown that I'm playing with a buddy) I'm gonna move on to ToCS and beat it.

GalGun DP, Valkyrie Drive, UPPERS in English, Omega Labyrinth in English, Grand Kingdom

Gonna order GalGunDP for Vita, since it's cheaper. probably on Monday. My next order after that will be for Hollow Realization's Limited Edition.

> fun?
Having a fucking blast. RO:Ace is fun if you have a buddy to play with, same for DC.

Jumping between The Last Blade 2, Croixleur Sigma and Sayonara Umihara Kawase. I should really start DT2 already.
Valkyrie Drive, Neo Atlas 1469,Trails of Cold Steel II, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and MOTHER FUCKING GAROU
Got Uppers, Ys VIII, Shiren the Wanderer and Gal Gun pre-ordered.

Just got announced at EVO

2 games down on my SNK fighting game port wish list, 6 more to go;
>The Last Blade 2
>Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Hopefully soon. SnK seem to be on a good trend of releasing their older fighting games on PS4/Vita. I've never played any of those games actually, except KoF 2002UM. NeoGeo Battle Colosseum and Samurai Shodown V Special look pretty rad though

The Dark Spire and Risk of Rain. I just need one more win to unlock Merc, then I'll have every character. I've been playing on Easy just to collect items and characters; once I have Merc, I'll start playing for real on the harder ones.
Garou Mark of the Wolves and a new Vita. I'll keep my old one that I've dropped to play MOTW and Last Blade 2 on so that I don't have to worry about being hard on the buttons when I'm fighting seriously.

no. I got a GPD XD and i'm genuinely so stressed about it for some reason that I can't think straight and it's hard to move. I guess I have autism! it's why I haven't been shitposting lately.
I can't figure out how to get the emulators it comes with pre-installed to work, i don't understand any of this shit, i don't know what games to play, the whole time i've been emulating The Dark Spire i've just been stressing about the fact that the hard drive on this thing is empty and i need to fill it up, it needs music and photos and movies and games on it, it bothers me how empty everything is. i need xanax.

Not really playing anything. Stopped Stranger Danger City when my bed broke since I was playing it on my PSTV before bed, and it's too damn hot to use my TV in my bedroom anyway. Since Grand Kingdom came in, I've been grinding guild rank (stupid fucking mechanic) to S, which I might finish today.

Valkyrie Drive. Waiting for a store in the land of snow and maple syrup to say they'll stock it, since I'm not going to pay 30 burgerbucks on shipping.

I've got MeiQ, Shovel Knight, Exist Archive, and Cold Steel 2 preordered. All I really feel I'm missing is Estival Versus (fuck paying 65 dollars for a game) and Valkyrie Drive (this one I might be willing to spend a little more on) before I feel like I have all the existing Vita games I want coming to me. Also forgot I ordered a spare/Singapore PSN PSTV yesterday for 40 bucks, so I won't need to reset my existing one every time I want to play one of my imports. There might be DLC worth getting for Gundam Breaker 3 that WON'T be a patch, and future games in that category.

fun
Kinda? I can see the potential in Grand Kingdom, but the amount of setup the game doesn't tell you and expects you to know is astonishingly high. I'll probably hop back into Stranger after I finish the preliminary class grind in Grand Kingdom.

also risk of rain drops to 1 FPS when there's a ridiculous amount of shit on the screen. i'll explain how i managed to hit sub-15 FPS.

i reached HAHAHAHA difficulty while i had like 8 attack drones active and tons of items that react to when you get kills, and shit got real. i was playing on sniper and was doing enough damage to get one hit kills, and when i was using the charge attack on 6+ enemies, it'd kill every one of them instantly and get my items going sending missiles and icicles and ghosts and shit everywhere, plus they'd all be dropping thousands of gold.

basically just don't keep the game going for longer than forty minutes if you want to maintain a good frame rate. fuck that shit.

Digiman, RO:ACE, Sword Shitty
Not much
Whatever catches my eye

You should emulate Art of Fighting 3 one day, it's got ridiculously detailed sprite work and animations for it's time. It's also one of the few fighting games where taunting is a beneficial to fights

Ice shield and Spark shield can crash the game if you grind up way too many of them. It's too bad the game breaks with shit like that, because otherwise it is fun as hell

i've heard it's even worse on PC and that people get frame rate issues muuuch earlier than HAHAHA, so i'm happy to have the port

The whole game is really well designed from a players standpoint. The gameplay is simple, fun, and has a great deal of replayability. However it was coded by a monkey on PCP slamming his dick against a keyboard and ended up the clusterfuck that it is. A proper team with the right guidance could have made it a really great game.

As for the PC version I have actually had it play better on linux than some of the windows players videos I have seen.

Go to the share thread user. They'll have just about anything you could want in terms of games. They have a good number of vidya OSTs too. Hell, there's an user (or two?) who post japanese Lewd and Non-Lewd ASMRs even. For movies, you'll probably have to look elsewhere though.

I wish those could be rendered in hd to use as a desktop background, that shit is gorgeous.
The sprites are godlike as well. Is AoF3 in MAME?

It's a shame the game breaks when you push it too hard. It's such a damned fun game too I'm awful at the game, I've yet to even beat it on Easy mode.

Yes, better yet you can play it online with fightcade

Sup Vivi

The problem with RoR is that even on easy the enemies are still bullet sponges. Get the Glass Artifact and leave it on the rest of the game. You get cut down to 1/10 of your HP but Infusion should fix that after a few levels and the 5x damage is well worth it. Glass shows up on the same level as access to Boar Beach which is also perfect for infusion leveling. As long as you don't have proc on kill homing weapons like the dagger or missiles you can farm piggies for a base +1 HP a kill. Commando is best for getting glass as you can just commando roll your way to long jumping. I really need to get those last trophies.

You want to play some more RO:ACE tonight?

Hell yeah. I'll have to find go get that downloaded sometime soon.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give that ago sometime today then, after I beat Lost Song

Sure! Does 11PM CST work fine?

Fine and dandy like sour candy

Is Gravity Rush worth buying? Figured vitafags would know instead of making a new thread. PS4 version.

It is

if you like a 5 hour game with an "open world" the size of just /one/ area of san andreas and some mindless gimmick combat with very little variety then this game is for you

When you put it like that probably not. If it's just a game of going through motions without challenge or replay value then I'll wait for a much lower price.

why get a shit game cheap? are you one of those weird steam hoarder guys who has 5,000 shit games?
anyway gravity rush was worshiped cause it was the only game on the vita that was above a 4/10 for an entire year.
now there's countless better games worth a shit. i think people still recommend it blindly forgetting it's not 2012 anymore. i'm sure if they replayed it today, they'd realize their mistake.

I see you in every vita thread leafafag, why do you avatar as someone better like GGO sinon or a semen filled ass-una

Sinon was only good for her avatar's ass cleavage.

I don't play games for the sake of playing them, so no. But with the sequel coming and the game looking kind of interesting, I would need to try it myself, so well why not. I would be selling the game when I'm done with it either way.

Because Leafa's the cutest imo. Lisbeth is a dangerously-close second best, and ASSuna third, Sinon only ranks because of that booty. Too bad you never see her in that unitard thing without her coat and chaps

Pretty much. Her ALO avatar is cute at least too bad it doesn't show off her ass-cleavage though, regardless of what costume you equip on her

It's not a bad game, it's just not the most difficult or challenging thing ever. It's fun though. There's a demo for the Vita version at least, you'd have to check for a PS4 demo though. And you're that "DT2 is too casual" fag, aren't you? makes it sound as if it's the worst game ever released. It's got a great soundtrack, the PS4 version is capped to 60FPS and looks absolutely gorgeous. They even improved the controls over the Vita version (particularly with the Gravity Slide) and it comes with the 3 DLC mission packs that give you access to the Military, Maid, and Spy outfits. There's plenty of extra challenge missions littered throughout the game as well. Of course, I'd recommend playing on Hard, since it is fairly easy on the Normal difficulty. Hard is fairly more enjoyable compared to Normal. And unless you're just rushing through the game, it should take more around 7 or even 8 hours. There's even a New Game+ mode

it is.
"th-there's a couple hard optional boss fights after you beat the game" "it gets hard after 70 hours"
what a load of shit.
try playing wizardry 8 where it's normal to die twice in the first ten minutes of the game

And what's wrong with extra bosses? Let alone ones that are harder than the previous ones fought in the main part of the game?
Are you even trying? This is a pretty flimsy strawman.

A game doesn't have to be difficult as all hell to be fun.

it does to people that want to use their brains and not just press whatever button and win.

also just for the record neither of those were strawmen arguments, people have literally said both of those phrases to me several times when defending their shitty non-dungeon crawler.

It's 20 bucks, right? I'd say that's worth it. Comes with the DLC missions, too. Just buy it physically so you can sell it, in case you don't like it. It's not for everyone.

Lisbeth? She's really plain imo. Sinon pulls off the short hair, Lisbeth just gets pwned by it. The freckles really are off putting too. Bitch is like what I picture what Jane Eyre would look like irl. Dont misunderstand though, I'm not hating on your taste, you have good taste in games. Of course only if you agree HF is better than lost song. Like what the fuck were with those quests? And those god awful rewards? And the lack of customizable armor/appearance? They don't compare at all to muh implement elements. I spent the most time on HF out of any game. Those skills and badass armor/weapons you get from the implements were so worth the grinding. Probably the most rewarding quests I've ever seen in a game. Not only that but HF's areas were so neat. Granted they re-used quite a few scenes but they all culminated to create a great experience exploring and conquering.

Yeah the ass cleavage was p cash. So was the badass sniping and kuudere personality. The other characters don't really compare depth wise. And it goes beyond "wahh I don't like guns I'm deep".

I like her character in the games better, like most I have problems with the anime.

Also strea's titty mole is delicious

I really don't see why you guys play this sour grapes game every time when most Japanese games get localized these days.

...

Nah, I passed on that shit pretty quick.

don't look at me, i don't give a fuck about those shit SFW "porn" games. i have 20 gigs of uncensored porn on my computer already, i don't need to read some text that's "arguably implying penetration if you interpret it the right way", i can just look at real penetration.

Protip; those people shitting on it would have shit on it regardless of the quality or sales.

They are the same people that go into SK threads just to sagebomb it and spam >shitran Kagura

Speaking of san andreas, I spent this evening and yesterday evening niggering rockstar out of almost a million gta bux.
Not my fault if they can't fix their fucking game and I take advantage of the bugs.
Sage for off topic

That's a stark over-exaggeration. It's not as though you can just stand in one place and mash a button to win. Especially in something like Gravity Rush or other action titles.

I thought you were referring to Gravity Rush, since I'd never brought up DT2 in my main point.

Still though
But it IS a dungeon crawler. It's just not ass-shatteringly difficult though it's tough to me

This all goes back to one point though:
The amount of difficulty a person has with a game and the amount of fun they get from playing said game are both supremely subjective.

For instance, I really fucking suck at RPGs in general, but especially turn-based ones. P4G has given me some difficulty on even its Easy mode. I'm not afraid to admit that I suck at these games. I'll admit it all day long. Personally, I'm much more suited to action-oriented games and their various difficulties. I'm more more able to rely on my own reflexes for parrying/dodging and punishing with a counter-attack than I am plan ahead for a big boss, only to have the entire thing fucked up because I didn't spend my skill points like the game wanted me to.

Her freckles are cute though, plus she's tanky as hell and is super helpful in your party. The anime is lackluster in every way compared to the games

Why thanks I don't think I've ever been told that on Holla Forums before

After just beating Lost Song, yeah, Hollow Fragment IS better than Lost Song. They took a lot out of Lost Song that I loved in HF, such as the customization and badass weapons/armors and the character commands/support, and the weapon skill tree I do love the Norse themes in Lost Song though . The Hollow Area was arguably the best part OF Hollow Fragment. I hope there's a similar sort of area in Hollow Realization, if not the whole game being like that instead. I'm pretty sure they're bringing a LOT of that stuff back into HR, thankfully I still need to beat HF though. The game is just so damned long.

Strea is delicious, and doesn't get nearly enough fan art.

you see fellers, i told you it's real. why should i listen to a thread's recommendations on RPG's when fucking persona is too hard for them?
if this guy who struggles with P4 managed to beat dungeon travelers 2, all that tells me is that i sure am the fuck glad i didn't listen to you retards who told me it's the hardest dungeon crawler ever.

Look out dude he's about to call you an objectively wrong casual who's ruining the industry by enabling objectively bad devs to make objectively bad games.

Did you expect anything but casual faggotry from the same nigger who avatarfags with disgusting cowtits?

Who said this?

all also true.

at least a dozen shills have tried to convince me it's the hardest game in the vita library. i didn't fall for it cause in the back of my mind i knew this was coming from the same people who think persona is difficult to the point of unplayability

also, toukiden. i'm not listening to recommendations from a thread who thinks toukiden is good.

Stranger of Sword City is harder, though. Maybe they were just referring to games that they had played.

i'm not supporting demon gaze devs, i'd rather get shot in the leg. i'd like to see what it feels like anyway

my favorite thing about SoSC is that people refer to it as "the game that looks like a painting" when in reality it's standardfare Final Fantasy "art". it looks like fucking shit. and not all of the backgrounds and sprites were done by the same "artist", so there's a lot of stylistic conflict and mishmash. makes me nauseated to look at honestly, but i guess to vita shills it's "like leonardo da vinci made a video game"

Aw shit yeah, Neo Atlas 1469's pre-orders are finally open on amiami.

But I never beat DT2. Furthest I got was beating the Harpy in the Tower, I didn't even beat the Gargoyle.

I said I suck at RPGs, but casual faggotry is a bit much. I wouldn't be caught dead playing a shitty walking simulator or CoD faggotry. I'm simply aware I'm shit at videogames in general, but I still enjoy them. I'm better at action games like Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising than I am turn-based/slow-paced games like most classic dungeon crawlers and turn-based RPGs in general.

But Toukiden is shit. You can have the AIs do everything for you and the monsters are all a joke. It's a sham of a monster hunter clone. I know I defended it back in the past, but after revisiting another time two months ago I realized for myself how shit it was.

Gee if you hate everything all the "vita shills" say in every thread why do you keep coming into threads to argue with them?

my boyfriend is on vacation and i have no one to talk to

i understand you're excited about vita games and all, i am too, but literally calling stranger of sword city "the game that looks like a painting"? what the fucking shit man. can you just tone down the vita dick sucking and unconditionally loving every game in the library?
this is the same console that has muramasa rebirth and yet you go and call SoSC a classical work of art?
go look up some final fantasy posters right now and tell me it doesn't look identical to that fart of a game. i'd have guessed they were the same "artists"

They don't look identical.

It's gotta be shitposting, the Vita's region free, so there's no reason to wait around for shitty localizations.

Nobody has said anything about Sword City's visuals except you. It's kind of a common thing with pretty much all your posts, you complain about something "vita shills" are saying but you're the only one saying it. I think they have a name for that kind of thing, I think it's called making a strawman?

FUCKING HOW

that's what you said last time yet here's a guy completely unprovoked by me saying he can't even beat persona 4 on easy just like i said.
the painting thing was probably started by the list of recommended vita dungeon crawlers people post around here. it makes me sick as fuck

I'm more confused how DT2 gave him seemingly less trouble than P4G on Easy. Only thing I can really think of is the fact that DT2 is faster and easier to grind in

Well when you spend multiple threads in a row whining about how you see vita shills talk about persona being hard, yeah eventually someone else is going to bring it up before you when they see you show up.

I can't speak on DT2, haven't finished the first one yet, and the Vita version for 2 is still 6000 or so here. I can't even begin to imagine how anything could be easier than a Persona 3-type game though.

I never had a single problem with Persona 3 Portable. It was just difficult enough to make me want to keep pushing whenever I got wiped out. Persona 4G is more like I just haven't bothered to pick it back up since I dropped it back in November. I've forgotten why I dropped it, but I've assumed it's because I got stuck at some point that required me to grind out some levels, which is no fun. I didn't have to grind at all in P3P.

even though persona 4 is mind numbingly easy and i fall asleep during the non-dungeon crawling, marie and rise make me sick to my stomach, and 90% of the dialogue is needless fluff that kills braincells, i still love it to death for some reason and i'm kind of embarrassed to say that.
i have a pretty big passion for intros. i sort of study them, and dream of directing one. they take a lot of skill and precision to look good and fit the music and tone of the overall piece. a good or bad intro can make or break a piece of entertainment for me. and i think that's what happened to me with The Golden, i got sucked in by that literally flawlessly choreographed masterpiece when you turn the game on. fucking literally made me cry when i first saw it.

Wow. That cheesy J-pop didn't put you off at all?

nope. even though i'm all contrarian and patrician when it comes to video games, i'm pretty lax towards music. i'd go as far as to say i like all music, except non-music. non-music being rap and noise.
reciting poetry (it's shit nigger poetry but it's still poetry) over one looping bassline isn't music. and neither is recording pots and pans clashing and birds chirping and mixing them together.

I tried to play Persona 3 on five separate occasions, across both the PS2 and PSP versions, and I always got too fucking bored to continue. It's a game actively designed to make you not want to play it - Tartarus is the most uninspired and lazy dungeon I've ever seen, and while the PSP versions partially addressed this, the fatigue system and lack of in-dungeon MP restoration is clearly meant to limit your dungeon crawling time. This could theoretically be a way to increase the challenge of the game, but it's not like there's anything terribly hard to begin with anyway, considering you need to be able to beat everything using one character essentially since the party AI is less than reliable. On top of that, they try to make the game part feel unfun to encourage you to pursue the social aspect, but at least in Japanese they're so poorly written and dull that I can't give two shits about any of them. I should've expected the game part to have gotten dumbed down after what 2 did to 1's gameplay, but at least 2 had good writing - on top of shitting all over the lore, 3 is just insipid, and for me at least has absolutely no redeeming qualities.

Interesting.

DT2 is more challenging overall, from what I've played. Persona 4 has 2 bosses that could be considered a difficulty spike, but the game in general is pretty easy. One of those two bosses isn't really a difficulty spike, since it's pretty much the first boss. I guess some might consider Shadow Mitsuo to be hard, but I didn't find him that difficult.

Persona 3 still goes down as one of the worst JRPGs I've ever played. Absolutely hated it by the time I finished it. I couldn't even finish The Answer. I just dropped the game completely a few hours in.

Oh, and I imagine P4G is much easier.

While I agree with you most of the time, I love listening to motsu too much to say this is 100% true

How does DT2 compare to Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain? I'm kind of worried about trying to play any other dungeon crawler now because of how bad it's spoiling me for the genre.

I haven't played the latter. I'm not able to make a comparison. What about it is spoiling you?

luckily despite my autistic obsession with pre-SMT IV atlus, i dropped persona 3 after just the first battle. i could already tell i was going to absolutely loathe the game and i got out quick.

here's what i've been listening to lately

It's hard to put into words. If you've played Makai Senki Disgaea, it's by the same folks, and has a lot of the same sensibilities - you can have up to 40 people in your party at once, you can knock down a large number of the walls of dungeons, there's tons of character and gear optimization to be had, and yet it still somehow manages to keep a feeling of tension and can easily fuck your shit up if you don't know what you're doing or just go in blindly.

No you fucking sperg, we tried to convince you that it's good, and since your definition of good is apparently "if I can't get OHKO'd in the tutorial it sucks" and is the only definition you'll listen to because you're an obsessive, narcisstic cunt, people tried to explain to you that it's not babby's first dungeon crawler. Then when people point out the parts where you CAN potentially get OHKO'd, ostensibly the parts you'd like best, you say they don't count.

Sage for off topic.

T-the anime?

Or are you just confusing the NIS series Disgaea with the spinoff anime and manga?

NIS is shit tier and you are in a Vita thread so don't pretend like we don't know who they are and how they publish fucked up bug ridden games with Tumblr tier localizations by NISA.

but they don't count. why the fuck would i sit through 70 hours of garbage for half a dozen boss fights i'd like? i'd be so disgusted after 70 hours of final fantasy diarrhea i wouldn't even enjoy them.
"after you beat the game it gets good" sounds like MMO or pay to win type shit

Fucking Sony, your servers and product wifi capabilities are utter shit.

That sounds like a major PITA to manage. I wonder how that works out.
Neat. Does that unlock hidden parts of the dungeon, or is it just part of the main path? I'm not a fan of Disgaea, so I have to take opinions towards this game with a grain of salt, but it looks alright. The dungeon music is kind of nice.

If those parts are post-game, there's not much point in mentioning them.

The spinoffs had the same name as the games.

What does a localization have to do with anything? Why would you ever play a NIS game in English to begin with?

Yeah I could see how other people could think she's cute, but she just doesn't do it for me. I think it's the tomboy personality type, and maybe because I don't like maces. I'm actually replaying HF right now. What's your favorite play style/build? Scimitars are fun, but I think my favorite is two handed. I love cutting through throngs of enemies with blast/strength/vitality buffs and equipment. Also check out the boss killer build on gamefaqs, that shit is game breaking

I kinda enjoyed the anime just some parts pissed me off. I played the HF before I watched the anime so I was expecting much more but the anime went in a different direction, or rather the game did. I expected the entire first season to be in sao but they spend 12 episodes on it? The same happens with the second season. People were saying the GGO arc lasted too long but imo it didn't last long enough. Kirito's gay avatar aside, GGO was excellent. If they didn't have enough source material from the LN's they should have just created some new plot to add in instead of the horrificly boring and pointless second half of the season in ALO.

I try to stay away from the hive mind behavior because it's just plain rude. Also its tired and cliche and this point to shit all over someone's opinion because you don't agree with them. It's wholly possible to have civil discourse with someone without sounding gay

Funny I never beat lost song and it was way shorter. I was looking foward to it so much after HF and after seeing you can fly on the trailers but it was such a let down. I stopped playing after like on the last part of the game.

Yeah I heard HR plays more like HF. Thank god. Though I also heard it's just one floor, so there's that. Here's hoping it doesn't flop like lost song

What haven't you beat in HF? The story isnt actually that long, it's the concealed area/implements, esoteric quest that made me spend so much time on it.

It's a slow progression. Basically, at any time you have five "Covens" that would act as normal party member slots in a normal dungeon crawler, but that can carry up to 8 characters each, with three as front line attackers and five as backline supporters. Each Coven requires a tome item, and each of these have different slot amounts, bonuses/penalties, requirements, spells, and costs, so there's balancing to be done there as well.

Both - it's used to advance the story as well, but there's plenty of hidden stuff to find by using it, and you can sequence break using it as well.

Understandably, and it does have some of the flaws of that series as well, but overall the implementation is pretty damn addicting for me here.

What I'm saying is the game is good and it gets better.

can you change the difficulty mid-game?

I see. I'll keep it on my radar. Thanks for the info.

Aside from changing your party composition and classes/abilities, no.

At least, not that I know of.

"Make sure to take advantage of the ability to save anywhere." says a faggot redditor on the subject of DT2
i can't believe people try to tell me this shit game is hard

i'm pretty sure not even the etrian odyssey untold diarrhea games let you save anywhere, and those are about as easy as fucking paper mario

Strawman, shitty comparisons, moving the goalposts…
Tell me you're shitposting, because all of your posts are garbage.

Maybe because we are on an English language board and the Disgaea series is referred to as Disgaea as a whole and with the subtitle when specific? Maybe you are trying to impress people with your weeaboo trash personality by using the romanji version of the Japanese title and coming across as a massive faggot? Maybe you got caught out referring to things in a nonstandard way while shilling for an absolute shit company and are now trying to shift things over and distract people from the fact that everyone in a Vita thread knows who NIS is and the vast majority of them hate the living shit out of them? Maybe you are trying to ignore the fact that from beginning to end anything NIS touches is poorly made, poorly written, poorly localized garbage and that is reflected in NISA.

no i'm more like genuinely disgusted that people take the time to try and get me to buy this.
while i was looking for whether or not you can change the difficulty mid-game, i also encountered several gameFAQ's users who said the difficulty level takes a nosedive halfway through the very first dungeon. nice :) gamefaq users and redditors saying the game is super easy to them.

Why would the spinoffs specifically be Makai Senki Disgaea when the games came first?

What the actual fuck are you even talking about?

I figured anyone who'd be familiar with them would already know about Refrain, so since he wasn't aware of Refrain, I figured better safe than sorry.

Do you mean that the games are actually poorly made, or are you just saying that because foreign versions have shitty writing? Moreover, why are you even considering a foreign release of a video game as representative of the quality of the game itself? If, say, Shovel Knight had a shitty localization in Germany, would you penalize the game for it?

Is this a fighting games thread?

its short and easy, but its a amazing game. Defiantly worth every penny.

I'm currently playing nuDoom ;:~)

shovel knight's a shit tumblr game that steals gameplay elements from better games.

play the better games and not the plagiarized kickstarter knock-off.

Last time I played HF I was using a Scimitar and a shield. I love the bleed effect its skills have on bosses. Plus that shield is handy for blocking damage, not to mention the support skills you can use with a shield. It allows me to be a semi-support tank, which I dig. I don't think I've given two-handed swords much of a go in HF. I tried Axes, but I can't stand how often they miss, they'd be pretty good otherwise, but their low HIT is their main drawback. Whenever I do go back to play, I'll max out Scimitar and move up to Katana.

Damn, that had to be pretty disappointing in a way, enjoying the game and then going to the more subpar anime. I was the opposite, I watched SAO2 before diving into Hollow Fragment. GGO's arc wasn't shabby at all, all things considered.

Unfortunately, that unholy clusterfuck of season 1's second arc was from the Light Novels. I would like to think it won't be so bad in the LNs, but I have my doubts.

I agree whole-heartedly. No two people are going to have the exact same opinions. It's almost amusing to see how angry some anons get over other anons have a differing opinion.

It's more that latter part. But I'll probably wind up biting the bullet and just pushing through the beat the main game, of course going through the Hollow Area stuff with Philia, since you kind of have to to avoid getting your ass kicked in the later floors right? Or am I mistaken?

There's definitely games that do it better it was just the first thing I could think of when trying to think of a Western game that wasn't complete dogshit to come out in the last five years

Afternoon of darkness, nigger. Do we call starwars A New Hope? Not unless you are a self important faggot trying to impress booth girls at a convention. I am talking about you being a massive cocksucking faggot and throwing chink words into because you have zero awareness of where the fuck you are as evidenced by the fact you tried to explain who NIS is. So now you are in damage control trying to explain that you only tried to say that shit because someone hadn't played a game before. NIS is notroious for poorly deisnged games filled with bugs that shit a brick and brick your console. Stop trying to shift the direction of the conversation you kike. NIS is fucking trash. You are unironically shilling for them and you explanation of who they are shows just how fucking out of your element you are here. NISA is garbage and are allowed to continue to exist because NIS is garbage. Fuck you and I hope you choke on your foreskins, you shekel grubbing half-dick.

I actually like shovel knight more then Mega Man and Ducktales, so I'm not sure if calling them better games is apropos. I also don't use tumblr so I did not' know if its a tumblr game. Also why would your ever steal a game. You know we at Holla Forums don't condone piracy. Would you pirate a Car?

hahhahahaha, oh, carry on then. you're the only poster in these threads i'd let live come the day of the rope by the way.

The fuck is "afternoon of darkness?" And the only time you'd do that is if you wanted to specify you meant that film instead of the franchise as a whole, because that's the only title to use "A New Hope" in it.

Seriously? Which ones?

No, American branches of companies are allowed to continue to exist because consumers have low standards and will accept the most slapdash non-translation bullshit instead of demanding they get the actual games.

tbh NISA actually butchers the gameplay and have left games with huge bugs. For example Disgea D2 has a crash that can brick a PS3 that they never fixed. They don't just localize the text they actually remove game mechanics and butcher the coding. So you Sholvel Knight argument is kinda bullshit.

That's horrifying and disgusting.

Not really, my point was more that if an American game got a localization that shitty in a foreign country, would you say it's a bad game just because of that? The NA localizations of games might be hot garbage, but that just means you don't play localizations, not that you miss out on games.

The Witch and The Hundred Knight is notorious for crashing and even bricking older PS3s. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass and gained some self awareness you would realize the first disgaea game on imageboards has been called just Disgaea since it was released and the anime was referred to as Makai Senko Disgaea. Just like how we all call episode four Star Wars.

NISA is trash because the trash parent company NIS allows them to remain trash. It doesn't matter how high the stack of shit it, the log on top is still shit.

Don't forget removing all new content from remakes so they don't have to translate new material and just inject the old PS1 script.

Oh I also forgot, not telling anyone until after release and not shipping review copies so nobody would find out until they bought iy.

i disagree, why should NIS care about americans exactly? they make good enough money among their own kind. they don't need us, and don't want us. and i don't blame them, the average consumer of japanese imported goods here are a bunch of shit eating retard feminist faggots with 3rd grade educations.

From what I'm seeing that's only an issue with the NA version, not the actual game.

That makes no sense. Every game in the series is Makai Senki Disgaea, then just with a number added on.

So, because there's a shitty foreignization company that they don't bother with checking on because foreign sales are a secondary concern at best, their games are bad? How does that even make sense? If you don't like NIS games, that's fine, they're far from perfect and some are complete garbage Criminal Girls had a terrible battle system for instance but saying the games are bad because the foreign versions are bad is ridiculously silly.

Jesus christ that's sleazy as fuck. I hope none of you ever give these fucks money.

Didn't one of their games cause consoles to overheat?

Does NISA do anything right? I can't support a company like that.

If you ask for details about the game, and someone gives you the answers to your questions, you can't turn it around and say "people take the time to try and get me to buy this game". They were answering your question. Don't be ridiculous.

Maybe at that point they learned how to use the heal spell? The first dungeon is pretty standard. Relatively easy with boss that isn't a total pushover. I haven't noticed any great decline in difficulty. First boss wasn't too hard or too easy, second boss was easier, third boss was a little harder, and the fourth boss had me down to last hit, last party member.

It's much easier to grind after the first dungeon, so maybe that has an effect on the difficulty for those other guys. I don't know.

i accidentally gave them money for a digital copy of Natural Doctrine. i regret it every day, i didn't realize my mistake. i was too damn hyped for the game, they go for $10 more than the digital copy on ebay, and no gamestop within 100 miles had one. so when i bought it i didn't even realize nisa was the publisher.

makes a lot of sense though, considering how the dub is ear rape and i had to shut down the console to escape the horrible sounds.

Disgaea DD2. A game with PS2 tier graphics that made the Cell on the PS3 overheat to the point of emergency shutdown due to an oversight that made it get stuck on a processing loop.
It takes a whole new level of fucktarded-ness to reach this. And it happens with pretty much any basic fire spell, hinting that the testing (if there was any testing) didn't even cover use of such a basic spell.

I didn't find it painfully awful, just laughably awful. Pretty much the same level of quality, but a different reaction. Everything but the mechanics in that game are subpar. It's a shame, really.

I didn't know we were clanking spoons. Jesus.

I know I won't. Not even if they do a good localization or just simply distributing physical copies of KT games

The only time they do anything right is when they got the original devs breathing down their necks. Regardless you shouldn't give them money for any reason, a company like that needs to burn.

if it relayed on story and the localization lead to it bricking your system yes or that the game was unplaybale. You do realize I also defended Shovelwareknight here
hownu.ru

I dont hang on to the details but there where whole NISA hate threads awhile back and Infographics covering every bullshit thing that company has done. They are worse then Nintendo Tree house.

Good choice, scimitar is made for the shield. Axes have good crits but are completely outclassed by Scimitars, but are pretty much interchangeable due to having the same sword skill multipliers. One thing I realized late game is sword skill multiplier damage is all that matters for killing things. Thus I started wearing equipment and using skills to help increase them. I use to think damage was the most important number but it's essentially useless barring a 10% multiplier added to every sword skill.

It certainly was. I was excited to watch the anime because I loved the game so much but…

I know that, I'm just saying they should've have spent more time on the first arcs of both seasons and if they stopped short because they ran out of LN material they should've made it up.

From my cursory perusal of this thread, looks like it's happening again. It's funny to read, but I try not to get involved these days. I used to be one of them and I actually never lost an argument on the internet since I started browsing chans in 09'. I realized though it's a waste of time and energy getting worked up like that because you actually don't gain anything by embarrassing someone anonymous on the internet. In real life maybe, but online, no.

Once you finish the hollow area you'll be about level 135-140. Then with all those battle and sword skills the rest of the floors will be a cakewalk and you'll get all the last attacking bonus. The trade-off is it won't be very challenging. I'm playing through the floors first this time around while doing some implements so I still get some badass equipment and battle skills.

What other games do you like? Anything good you're playing now?

You know what doesn't make sense? Why you are choosing to ignore a decade of english language naming conventions because you are so desperate to cover your ass for sticking out like a sore thumb. English isn't here to coddle to you, faggot. Learn to speak it good or fuck off.

Witch100 had to be halted in development numerous times for this bullshit and was delayed by a year for bugs that they couldn't completely wipe out. And don't try to push all the blame on NISA. They are trash but NIS proper is just as censor happy. They censored the last disgaea themselves even in gookland.

I've got some of the older ones that don't have any of the newer censored games or the shitty PC ports

We all make mistakes user, just live and learn and always be aware of what your money is funding.

If it relies on story, that's even more reason not to play a foreignized version - if you're going to read a book, you read it yourself, you don't have someone else read it to you.

O…K? You're still missing the point that a bad localization doesn't somehow magically make the game bad retroactively, it just means it has a bad localization.

The fuck are you even babbling about at this point?

The actual game, or the foreignization?

All the problems you've mentioned so far have been exclusively the foreign versions, not the actual games. You have my attention on the last bit though assuming you're using a Korean slur to refer to Japan anyway - just what happened with Disgaea 5?

God fucking damn.

The point you are making is you are a obvious NISA shill form out of town. Desperately and almost autistic trying to defend the shitty practices of localization.
that is even more reason to learn moon
filtered

It doesn't make sense cause you can't understand basic fucking english you shit skin. The actual game was delayed and had to be rebuilt because it was so completely broken. Fuck NIS and all the chinks that work there. Also I was tlaking about 4 I wasn't even aware there was a 5 since it is so far beneath my contempt I don't keep up with their latest bullshit.

i cringed.
i cringed even harder knowing half this thread owns digital copies of the entire neptunia franchise and all its spin-offs.
yeah, i accidentally bought natural doctrine, but at least it doesn't have memes and zelda references every five seconds.

Is English not your first language? How do you even come to this conclusion?

Nigger I've been speaking English since the day I was born, the only reason I don't understand what you're saying is because you're rambling in a nonsensical way.

That sucks, but I'd rather have that than the more common practice nowadays of releasing a broken game and maybe patching it later. Internet connections are one of the worst things to happen to console games.

Fair enough, what happened with 4 then?

I don't think you understand what those words mean, shitskin. They didn't fix it though. They fucked up so bad the first time they scraped it, and the second time they rushed whatever they had out the door and it resulted in crashed games and destroy your data. What happened was pic related. Nothing good comes from the shithouse that is NIS.

Shill

I got your back onii-fam.

Daily reminder that anyone funding or supporting NISA in any way is a shiteating retard that should kill themselves.

he's not a friend anymore.
though he abandoned me before i could abandon him first :'(

Exaggeration, to be sure, but the point that any native English speaker would acquire from that phrase is that the person is stating that they, themselves, are a native English speaker. If anything you're the one whose language proficiency is being thrown into question.

Near as I can tell that didn't happen with the actual game, only the foreign release.

Let me know when you remember to upload said pic then.

Why are people this stupid?

So you admit you are just lying and bullshitting to support NIS. Kill yourself until you are dead, nigger. Why don't you pay attention to what was posted instead of pretending said pics weren't posted in your desperate attempt to damage control your shilling you fucking jewish faggot.

to be fair he makes like 150k a year and doesn't pay rent, doesn't have a girlfriend, has no expenses, so he probably would have bought a ps4 anyway since every penny he makes goes towards toys and furry porn.

What, is he Jewish?

Nigga, stop. Just stop, take a breather, and then filter the retarded shill.

nah he's a fat autistic manchild who lives with his parents. he works as a laboratory guy at a hospital.
this is him inkbunny.net/ZapperZaku2 the total cost of the porn he commissioned on this gallery is probably around $10,000

No, I am enjoying my anger.

Also grinding for the Big Murasama in Demon Gaze is really really boring.

Why would you befriend a furry in the first place?

What?

And yet you question my English.

Pic related almost always refers to the pictures accompanying the post in which it's said. Now to actually address the issue, what's the source on the original? Was it screenshots from trailers that then got changed quietly? Either way, I agree that that is some right bullshit.

No wonder.

let's just say my favorite demons in SMT are cait sith and neko shogun

perhaps you can help, i've wanted to get into gundam for years but don't know where to start.
someone had told me Gundam Wing. it was so bad i fell asleep.

Being a kike must really benefit you with your work. I mean lying so easily and having no conscience must make it easy as fuck to shill.

kys

Then they should stop bringing their games over. This is bullshit.
You need to step outside of your hugbox for a little while, because 3rd wave feminists are a minority.

That's a lot of male dog anuses and cats fucking

Skullgirls 2nd Encore. It's nice to take my favourite fighter on the go (i'm on holidays and travelling), gotta keep up that practise.

Garou. I sucked at it but damn did I have fun. It's very pretty.

Japanese copy of 2nd Encore for dat Japanese dub

they aren't a minority among nisa fans, they actively defend and support nisa's decisions to censor the games and get angry at excessive fan service.

i'm more partial to the cats personally

Yeah, everyone with a brain got the fuck out and dropped that company like the plague. The virture signaling faggots are all that remains.

Terrible.

If you don't mind QUALITY and some pacing issues, I do recommend the TV version of the original Gundam. The movie versions clean it up and trim it down a bit, but in the process they cut a lot of what made the original show so good, which was portraying the enemy side as "just guys" like the people on the "good" side, despite the fear and tension and mistrust going on. There's a great episode early on where the White Base has to negotiate with the Zeeks trailing them for a temporary ceasefire to let a few of the civilians onboard off, and the way it plays up both sides thinking the other is trying to pull a fast one on them is very well executed, for instance.

Beyond that, Zeta's got an overall good story with pretty subpar characters and writing, and ZZ suffers from a combination of Tomino's bipolarity and the script getting changed halfway through due to CCA getting decided on, but they're not terrible. Victory I enjoyed a fair bit, though it suffers from Tomino bipolarity even more than normal, and X is good but has a rushed ending due to getting cancelled. Turn A has enourmous pacing issues with the middle half going slow as molasses, but the beginning and ending are solid. G is not representative of Gundam in the slightest, being more of a Chinese wuxia martial arts drama - I love it personally, but it's not Gundam in the least other than the general anti-war and environmental undertones. SEED is hot garbage, and 00 has potential but never really lives up to it. AGE is awful, and while Unicorn looks beautiful it's got shitty writing. Thunderbolt is amazing. 0083 Stardust Memory, 08th MS Team, and 0080 War in the Pocket range from decent to meh, all have strong and weak points but are short enough to be worth sitting through after you've gotten familiar with the Universal Century setting the original takes place in.

Now you're just babbling. Why the fuck would I try to pretend you hadn't posted anything when the evidence is right there? I assumed you were intending to post pictures to push your argument in that post, and wasn't aware you were referring to the previous post's ones. When that was cleared up, I replied. I notice you still haven't actually responded to that either, by the way.

I wish this would happen, I'm always scared by the thought of games getting altered to try to appeal to the West, like what happened to Fire Emblem with 7.

t. Mark "Schlomo" Shekelstien

But go ahead and pretend they were never posted in direct response to your bullshittery.

i'll check out the original then, thanks. movie adaptations always do fuck up everything real bad. a lot of people prefer the fist of the north star movie over the anime and i can't understand how.

No you sperg, he's probably the autist that think's everyone is or should try to learn a dying language.

So a jew

No, a weeb.

Is there really much of a difference?

found the rabbi

Woah damn. I never realized that. I'll most certainly take that into consideration then. I'd been using my equips most for Defense and Damage over everything else.

Yeah…

Ah I see, yeah, I have to agree there. They definitely could've made up something better than that ALO arc.

Essentially. There's nothing to be truly gained. It's just a vicious cycle at this point

Ah, I guess there's a downside to everything. I feel like the Hollow Area will be worth it though, as cool as it all is. The last place I made it to in the Hollow Area was the Beach, I think I had to go to some lighthouse next I'm surprised I remember that much

Hm, you mean like some of my favorites? Well, in no particular order:
- Avalon Code
- 999 and VLR
- Gravity Rush
- Elite Beat Agents
- Soul Calibur IV
- Persona 3
- Final Fantasy IV (DS remake)
- Fatal Frame
- Star Ocean 3 no bully
- Fallout New Vegas
- Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
- Spiderman 2
- Ace Attorney trilogy & Apollo Justice
- Disgaea Hour of Darkness the DS version was good too
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate / Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I guess if I've never made it abundantly clear before, I fucking love Monster Hunter. I'm playing Generations now of course. That's the only other game I'm really playing currently besides Ragnarok Odyssey Ace with another user and Dragon's Crown with yet a different user. I've got a few post-game bits to do in Lost Song, but after those I'll be totally done with it and will (finally) move back to Trails of Cold Steel. I think I was about halfway through that when I stopped playing it, dropping it for another game, that was back in December when I stopped playing it, I think. And hopefully I'll have ToCS beaten before ToCS2 comes out.

How about you; playing anything else? What other games do you like?

whoops, throw Magical Starsign, Bayonetta, EDF2017, and Ninja Gaiden 2 on that list as well.

If I were to lie, it would be to avoid a discussion on the issue. However, when you made it clear that the pictures from an earlier post were what you were referring to, I responded to engage, because I want to know more. What's the source on the one using the riding horse? Is it the same scene as the one using the cat demon doll thing? Was this from pre-release to release, or between the PS3 to the Vita release? Give me some information, I didn't know about this, and I want to be mad if there's reason to be.

Agreed, yeah. The movies were basically a digest of "this is what that Gundam thing is about" for the average person who would never watch all 40 or so episodes of an animated TV show. And for Fist I've only read the manga, haven't seen the film or show, so can't speak on those.

Weeaboos are the goyim of Japan.

They're both failures of a human being, that's about it.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING KIDDO!

7th dragon 2020

SRW V Soldner x-2

Octodad, Xenodrifter, and i've got Gal Gun preordered for some reason.

The show is way less serious than the book. Only a select few character arc finales ever take themselves seriously, the rest is just plain fun villain of the week type deals with super flashy animations done on a budget and some fucking awesome music. It's the kind of shit that causes seizures, and I love it.

What's that game supposed to be about?

As far as localization, occasionally, but only really when they're kept on a short leash, or there's next to no text for them to fuck up. Spike Chunsoft seems to understand that NISA needs to have an eye kept on them. Even then though, I'd say buying used (or pirating) is the wiser option when it comes to games NISA actually localizes.

As far as distribution goes, they seem alright on that front, though it would be better if they either went distribution only and stopped translation and mucking with code entirely, or if the various companies that hire them for physical releases would cut them out altogether (TK needs it's own store or to do regular retail releases of the Vita games they handle for Gust).

Wonder if that last image is due for an update, considering MSZ, Disgaea D2, and WatHK look to be the most recent things to be on there in full (with CG only getting that mention at the end).

Where exactly do you find these people? And was he a furfag already when you met him, or just came out as one one day?

On the off chance you weren't aware, Magical Vacation has an english patch now if you want to play the predecessor to Starsign. Just saying.

But you already have lied once about speaking English from birth. Then you lied about the pics being posted. Now you are lying about lying.

2100

I need to finish 2020-II so I can move on to III, been sitting on that for almost a year now.

My nigger

Ah, so kind of like the Devilman adaptation? Fair enough then.

You're either shitposting or autistic probably both

So do you have any actual information for me?

What information? I stopped paying attention to you after you kept lying and shilling, kike. It's from the initial PV for Disgaea 4 which they censored for the release. Keep digging deeper, faggot.

Think Sid Meier's Colonization but focused all on trading, exploring and mapping out the unknown world. It all takes place during the age of discovery.

It's a long running jap PC game series that's never been localized, so don't expect it anytime soon if it interests you

Also, i tried the Half Minute Hero II fan translation and yikes it is nowhere near as good as the PC version, with text overflow and formatting errors everywhere (such as "Goddess Statue Lov")

Thank you. Now I have reason to be upset about them toning shit down, because there's nothing wrong with the original.

Sounds neat, any reason why the series has never been brought over?

The other games the devs brought over to the west didn't sell well and this is the first time the series has been touched in over a decade.

There might be an extremely small chance that Natsume might bring it over since they brought over some of the devs other recent handheld games; Carnage Heart EXA and A-Train 3D

Oh shit, I never heard the news. Thanks user!

No problem. It was mentioned in the JRPG and translation threads a few weeks ago, but figured I might as well mention it here on the off chance you hadn't seen those.

Might be good to double check what the latest patch version is though; not sure if it's still the base patch or if they did a more recent one with corrections like some translation patches see.

Ah, so more of a case of a series suddenly being revisited after a long absence (the way, say, Glory of Heracles suddenly got a DS game after the last main entry was on the SFC)? Would make sense if maybe they want to the see how Japan receives it before looking to let it be brought west.

Well it seems like you're busy with other games but if you ever get back to HF, give the implement grind a try. They seem daunting at first but with a little help from Google they can be fun and rewarding.

But wow you have an eclectic taste in vidya. Not too crazy since they seem to be mostly rpgs. FF IV is a great game, though VI is my personal favorite. Phoneix wright is a great series, Godot is one of my favorite vidya characters. Nightmare in dreamland is a classic, feeling a lot nostalgia seeing that name.
Persona 3 is one of my favorites and is one of the games I play at least once annually since it came out. I think this year is my 12th playthrough. I started to memorize the script on the 5th one I think by the time I hit 2025 I'll be able to recite it aloud from memory.
Disgaea HoD was fun for the DS. I don't remember much of it but I know I played the shit out of it. Maybe I'll emulate it on my phone now that you reminded me about it

Funny I actually wanted to make a thread about monster hunter but I guess you saved me the trouble. I've seen people talk about it for years on the chans but it's a game series I never really tried, like MGS. It seems like the kind of thing I might like but I hear it's all grindan and no story. Is that true? I never played star ocean 3 but I loved TLH. I got bullied a lot for liking it when it came out so I've since not brought it up online. I defended it well but it gets annoying because there really were issues with the game I just thought they didn't really take away from the gameplay.

I was actually playing the first Trails game when my hard drive got fried. I never backed up my data so I lost my save and about 20 hours of gameplay. I think I got to that part where they're with agate infiltrating that whatchamacallit. It was a great story, and decent gameplay. You think I could skip right to trails 2 or ToCS?

Well right now I'm playing danganronpa 2, replaying dmc4 ultimate version (or whatever), replaying some dolphin gamecube games (pokemon colleseum and tales of symphonia) on my computer. As for vita, I just started playing it again, it was collecting dust in my drawer, I need to get back to playing dungeon royal library 2 something or other(or whatever). I got stuck at the therian village and I bought it when it first came out so there were no guides online to help me out.

As for my favorites they are

The fire emblem and persona games I play annually. Radiant dawn I usually play twice every year

Trash.

what's your favorite games? Let me rip them to shreds for you bud, least I can do for a friend

it makes me sad you like strange journey yet put persona 3, dragon quest and paper mario in the same list.

by the way i'd literally pay $100 for ps vita ports of pre-smt IV atlus games.
unfortunately for me, if it ever were to happen, they'd likely add some nonsense female character out of nowhere that wasn't in the original plot and also add easier difficulties that you can change anytime mid-game. so in that case they'd get $0.

Mine certainly aren't arguable the worst of their respective franchises. Sacred Stones is the worst FE after Fates and Awakening and P3 was a mistake.

Judge away.

Wouldn't it be possible to play them on there through remote play if they saw PS4 rereleases? Or are you thinking more of native Vita ports?

Dragon quest has sentimental value to me as I played it through some very rough times in my life.

Sacred stones is the first rpg I ever played and I still remember the joy and wonder I had for playing it. Yes I know tower of Valni ruins the game, sue me. The story and gameplay still withstand the test of time.

As for persona 3, that game has gotten me through some rough times as well, but it actually explores the meaning of life and death which gives it a certain amount of depth without being pretentious. The Japanese honorifics in the scripts were my only issue with the game

What's it like being a nostalgia ridden retard? It's a garbage game, and it's fanfiction-tier writing doesn't do it any justice.
(You)
This whole post.

Also,
Kill yourself millenial baby faggot.

Did the English localization magically rewrite the entire script to be not shit? Because it was awful tripe in Japanese.

Meanwhile in reality, my superior p3 is blowing your mother fucking mind. Fan fiction tier writing? Were we playing the same game? I think you were playing one of your cherished games and got the downs so you can't tell the difference lol

one time, my mom left me home alone while she left to get groceries. she begged me to come but it was only 3 and my dad doesn't get home till 7 normally. so i stayed cause i wanted to play video games.
of course he showed up ten minutes after she leaves. he harassed me for the entire duration of her absence, leading up to him strangling me when i retorted one of his insults. i was strangled while i was playing resident evil 4. it traumatized me to the point that i have major anxiety just from my lover who i trust more than anyone gently caressing my throat.

but the point of this sob story is i don't autistically regard resident evil 4 as a divine artifact. in fact i rate it 5.5/10. pure mediocrity. a boring FPS from an era that was overflowing with them.
basically this
i fucking hate nostalgiafags so fucking much and i largely place all blame on them for killing my JRPG's. all you autists wouldn't put down pokemon so now every JRPG is pokemon.

i don't understand why nostalgia got you so bad but it never got me. i don't play a single game from my childhood and never have wanted to. they were all shit.

by the way i hope you weren't being ironic when you shit on fallout new vegas in your following post. it truly is a shit game, that is something we can agree on.
the stats are completely meaningless, it's not an RPG in the slightest. so what does that leave us with? a horribly shit FPS reminiscent of cereal box action games with a budget of $15,000.
the guy who does all the character models and animations for bethesda games literally has no education in his field. he is the very definition of incompetent, yet they have him controlling everything.

I was born in 1995, how the fuck would I play that bullshit if I was 1? Are you braindead?

I assumed you threw in a fake one to throw me off as you are a crafty jew. You make Emperor Netanyahu ashamed with your honesty

I want the children to leave

whhoops i meant 3rd person shooter in regards to RE4. i know people get super autistic about semantics here, calm your horses big guy typing a post about semantics right now.

Hold on. Read my post again, when did I say any of these games were gods gift to man? When did I say any of them were 10/10? If that was your contention, this back and forth was pointless, since I never said that. I think that about radiant dawn and SJ, and I will argue that to my grave, but the rest have their assorted critic values. There is a difference between enjoying a games' entertainment value and how you would rate it critically.

Sucks about the choking thing. I hope you can get over that some day. But I don't know if you will. There are some memories that haunt me everyday, like nightmares while I'm awake. But all we can do is move on, I guess

No it's still fucking awful, that user is just nostalgic and is emotionally attached to the game since it "helped" him through some stuff.

Please, you've never played most of those. The Singleplayer MMO gets a pass but Ace Combat 4 and Age of Empire 2 don't? What a joke.

And then he went nuclear.

I'm starting to become convinced that you make posts deliberately to be a contrarian. RE4 isn't a perfect game but it was revolutionary at the time. It popularized a style of gameplay and was incredibly fun to replay with a variety of content.

Bethesda's only hand in New Vegas was rushing the game and trying to pretend it didn't happen. And it still ended up better than every single god damn Fallout game, yes that includes the crappy isometric games. If I wanted to play an Isometric RPG I'd play Diablo 2.

He is 21, old man.

...

You have to go back.

It's not a meme, it's making fun of autists like you.

Also autists is not a buzzword because it actually applies aptly with your behavior

honestly every single bad memory that haunts me is regarding embarrassing shit i did at my first job

but it literally isn't an RPG. i dislike the first two fallout games too, but at least the stats mattered. a character with sub 3 INT can't even speak, he just grunts.
characters with shit dex and str drop their weapons in combat.

whereas i can equip a handheld nuke launcher with shit str and give philosophical and scientific instruction with shit int in your shit game.
it's not an RPG, all it is is an FPS. and when you look at it from that perspective, it's godawful.

don't tell me you consider it an RPG just because you can "make choices" in dialogue.
people have written entire college thesis about how shit the game is, i'm only scratching the surface.
nice reaction image by the way, it's very telling. if you consider cartoon writing good, you must think new vegas is akin to dante's inferno.

Awww is someone trying hard to win an argument? Well try harder kid, it's a little earlier to be pulling out the pity card for your downs. Since obviously you couldn't tell a good game if it bit you in the ass.

But by all means keep the bullshit train going, I'll be sure to keep spanking you

Children like you should be in bed by now

Yes it is. It's a broad word, and I approve of it's usage.
No, that's you my friend. I called a couple of your favorite games shit and you went nuclear over a bunch of shit you've never played or heard over.

Talk to me when you stop confusing FO3 with New Vegas.
Everyone knows stats matter in NV, go and actually play it you retard.

Wew lad, could you try any harder to sound like a massive normalfag.

I figured as much though I can't imagine how young you'd have to be to be "nostalgic" over a PS2 game

Like I said, too young.

Avatarfagging on top of being an idiot? Get the fuck out.

The irony here is staggering.

I don't think you know what the word nuclear means, my friend. Is that what people say instead of "you mad" these days? Wow so you're more of a meme toting fag that you claim I am. Why don't you check out those links you posted for me I think you'll feel right and home. I think 9gag could be perfect for you too, I think they're still saying "you mad" and they are very accepting of downs

i did play it, i tanked bullets and effortlessly dispatched every NPC. honestly the most frustrating and "difficult" part of the game for me was waiting for the anti material rifle to become available, which i equipped with no problem despite not checking if i had the stats necessary to use it, if there even were any. i assume not.

honestly i get nostalgic over stuff i did just a couple months ago. it's just i don't let it blind me and list stuff i admit myself is garbage in my "favorites of all time" shit.

I guess, my image of the "nostalgic" emotion is set in things a bit more… lasting I guess? Hard to explain.

Too young? Yeah now you're just mad and trying to grasp for a comeback. Too bad it's obvious and pathetic

And I post Leo because he's great at piss ing people off with that golden smile. Look how well its working.

A comeback to what? Your self-indulgent babbling? Nigger please.

shitposting's not cool when you do it in response to getting BTFO.
you gotta just let it flow naturally, like me. my diarrhea of the mouth flows in every single one of my posts. i don't wait for someone to blow me the fuck out to do it.

This is why I know you didn't play the game. You'd have to have checked your stats in order to level up and boost Guns to 100 in order to even use that weapon.
When using a low Intelligence character you unlock more dialogue and options. You can even get Cass to go with you out of Pity for your stupidity.
Fallout 3 was the game where intelligence was basically "hurr durr I'm stupid"

I don't believe you played New Vegas, I seriously think you're confusing it with FO3, and game in which your actions barely matter since there's no faction or town based reputation system and you barely effect the world around you.

Gud 1

I think it's time we tally up the score because I'm out. Things to do, people to babble to, that sort of thing. Good riddens, don't let the door hit you amirite friends?

Leoposter: 3
Elitist faggots: zilch, zero, nada

Oooh ouch, better luck next time guys. I'll be happy to spank you the next vita thread

Aw hell I'll spank you in any thread

i guess i'm mistaking SPECIAL for stats then.
SPECIAL is the one i'm declaring meaningless. there was not a single point in the game i was unable to use xyz item or weapon. the only thing i remember being unable to do was make bullets or some shit, might have just been i didn't want to bother since i had infinite money.

Keep posting please.

Anti-Material Rifle also requires 8 Strength, so I'm guessing you set your stats accordingly.

or maybe i just found a couple of the 200 SPECIAL books and bobbleheads lying around

Books are for Skills, not SPECIAL.
Not even fucking in New Vegas. You collect Snowglobes and those don't even provide stats, just a lot of caps. To boost SPECIAL you need to purchase implants for your character.
Bobbleheads are Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 shit, you definitely played FO3.
fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault-Tec_bobblehead

do it
do it every thread
don't wait for someone to fuck you up next time, JUST DO IT
advice to anyone who wants to shitpost like a champ
use content you're emotionally involved with already, and take those emotions and blow them out of proportion as much as possible. play a character who cares 500x more than you already do. don't use a word filter, let it flow. it's called stream of consciousness. who gives a shit? worst case scenario you get disapproval from some manchildren who play pokemon at 30 years old? that's the best part to me

New Idol Death Game TV details are out, but this thread sucks now, so fuck it.

You're both pretty sad.

This is the first time an Idol game has ever looked interesting to me.

I'll have to give it a try then I suppose, whenever I do get back to HF.

Funny isn't it? About half of my favorite games belong to the genre I'm arguably most shit at. Granted, only four of them are turn-based, and aren't grindy as fuck.

Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland is my top-comfy game. No matter what kind of mood I'm in, I'll get cozy as hell playing it.

wow. Granted, it's good enough to warrant several playthroughs. I'd like to go back through and play it again as fem-MC as a second run. The game's a bit different that way, from my understanding.

Monster Hunter has never been a very plot-strong game. What little plot there is, it's more just an excuse to go kill the monster(s) or gather materials. When you break it down, it pretty much is just "Hunting and Grinding: The Game." The reward for hunting monsters is getting access to even more monsters though. Fighting the monsters themselves, and finally finishing that armor set or getting the final upgrade for your weapon is the real prize. Then you can go take on the arena missions to really test your skills. I'm probably shilling MonHun horribly, but I'm sleep-deprived and am about to head off anyway

Eh, I'd never played a Trails game until Trails of Cold Steel. The only thing I think TiTS and ToCS have in common mainly is just the same world, and some nods to TiTS in ToCS, I think.
I enjoyed it up to where I dropped it to play some other games. I'm looking forward to picking it back up again too. So yeah. i would say you could just start with ToCS. I don't feel like I'm missing anything by doing so.

The Danganronpa games aren't too shabby. 2 is better than 1 imo Mikan and Chiaki are the best

yeah, Dungeon Travelers 2. Get ready for some real grind then.

I've never played any of these. I've played some of Paper Mario TTYD, but never those FE games or any mainline DQ games.

no, stream of consciousness is art.
i wanted to do a whole book in that style of writing, but it doesn't work. it only works in film or shitty liberal poetry.
check out the movie "I stand alone" (french title: seul contre tous). it's my main source of inspiration in regards to stream of consciousness/narratives from the perspective of an internal monologue

If you're looking to get into Tales in the future, Eternia, Symphonia, and Vesperia have struck me as being good starting places in my experiences with them. Or I suppose that you could start with Phantasia if you want to see the series from the the start, though it's worth noting that the SFC is a bit hard to go back to (being the first iteration of the first game in the series; fan translation also takes some liberties) and while the PS1 version improves the combat and adds new content, it's still a bit clunky in a few ways (Absolute Zero's busy working on translating the most up-to-date release on the PSP, bundled with NDX). Most of the games have no bearing on each other plotwise (barring Phantasia and Symphonia, Destiny and Destiny 2, and Xillia and Xillia 2), but some people do claim it's harder to start with the more recent games and work your way back due to combat becoming more refined over time.

Jesus Christ, when did these threads become so shit?

Good game

Let's do it again some time. only 100 to the achievement and we will get lots of others knocked out along the way.

About three weeks ago when turbosperg showed up. Most of us shitpost for fun, he does it with a complete lack of self awareness.

i have lots of self-awareness, i just don't care. self-awareness has no place on the internet. well with the few exceptions being if you're posting revealing info about yourself like your address or something.
then again i've been doxxed four times and not a single thing happened. all talk and no bite

Anyone with a PSP or a decent PC should play MH Portable 3rd. I'm pretty sure there's a fan translation for it, and even if there's not it's not too hard to figure out how the game works.
You also can't talk about MonHun without talking about the fucking great combat with tons of weapons and depth. It's something you can only get better and better at,

Sacred Stones isn't that good, but Radiant Dawn is worth a play. Have you played any of the other games?

what i mean is, i have enough self-awareness to know nothing i say here matters and enough self-awareness to know i achieve nothing by being friendly to manchildren around here.
all i see you guys accomplishing when you talk all friendly is you're selling products to people. i do it too sometimes but it's jewish bullshit.
it's better to do some self-indulgent shitposting and blogging. and i'm doing it in such high frequency today because my eyes hurt too bad to play video games right now for some reason and my only friend is out of town.
i'm so bored i'm going to kill myself
but not before i die of starvation first. i haven't had anything to eat today other than grits. grits aren't particularly nutritious.

Avoid:
Fire emblem(Mystery of the Emblem on the SNES is the definitive version)
Shadow Dragon
New mystery of the emblem
Awakening
Fates: Casual White and Censored Black
These are absolute bottom of the barrel. Even sacred stones is better than any o the games on here.
Hashtag FE

Who's more of a manchild, the guys who just want to talk about games, or the guy who HAS to shit up every incarnation of a specific thread because how dare they recommend games to each other, even though you can play the vast majority of games for free if you really wanted to.

How active is Helldivers' multiplayer?

You have excellent taste.

Regarding FE, what'd I say is to play the original NES one for at least a few stages, if only to appreciate the progression of the series (and the genre really) over the years. If you're a completionist too, 3 cuts out a fair number of stages and characters and overall IMO is a fair bit easier, so keep that in mind. Don't feel you need to play it all the way through, but if nothing else I think it's worth experiencing.

For the rest, I'd say 2 is worth playing again if only to know what it's like - much like other sequels of the time (Zelda 2, AJD/Castlevania 2, Ys III) it went for a rather radical change in playstyle before reverting back for 3, in this case by trying to go for a DQ/FF style overworld and walking into towns to chat with NPCs and the like. Also a rather interesting magic and upgrade system. 3-5 are the definitive titles of the franchise, and are ultimately the most important to play to understand Fire Emblem though.

Everything after… well, just know it's a different series really at this point. Kaga left after 5, and 6 is very clearly kind of directionless, as the team basically went back to basics again and tried to redo FE1 with a new cast and new mechanics. Then they decided to sell the series in the West, so they made 7 with it's 10 stage forced tutorial campaign, overpowered Lords (and half the cast for that matter,) and self-insert angle. I haven't played the GCN or Wii titles, so can't speak on them, but otherwise the series has basically gone downhill from there.

you're over analyzing it, i'd still be here shitposting no matter what you guys were doing with each other or the quality of your characters. because this is the only website i don't feel like a total faggot for being on, and this thread happens to be the only topic i know enough about to participate in.
i don't know how many times i need to say it, my motivation to shitpost is boredom and to a lesser extent loneliness.
also you'd think that me saying all this will stop people from replying in the next thread. like i've outted myself, i've shown everyone the secret to my magic trick and ruined the magician's show.
but they won't. they always reply. they always need to defend their shit games and attempt to convince anyone who'll listen to spend money on their shitty brands.

Try a few and ignore recommendations of shit to avoid. The fanbase is either massively casual or massively elitist.

Try Symphonia.

Literally just pick one.
Then you've pretty much played PM64.

DQ I'm going to chime in and say to play 1 just to know what is basically the game that set tons of JRPG conventions so immovably the way they are (It's short anyway) and 3 because that's the first one that's actually good.

How does Gundam Breaker 3 run on Vita?

is there anything someone can do or say, or perhaps a hobby they partake in, that when you hear of it, it's basically a cue to you that they're retarded as shit and you should avoid them?

for me, a big one lately is neptunia.

Haven't played it myself yet but probably fine, 2 runs fine, and 3 is still going for full price on Vita with no complaints about it underperforming. Like most games, it was probably made for the Vita and just ported to the PS4, rather than the other way around.

Posting excessively in one thread.

this is my thread

Then I imagine this must be rather embarrassing for you.

yes i'm very embarrassed

Dungeon Travelers 2. Just passed the lv 30 mark with all 5 classes and I'm spending way too much time tinkering around with classes and skills.

Cyber Sluts. I played the whole game on Hard, but that last boss was absolutely retarded, so I said fuck it and turned it to normal.

Exist archive and Cold Steel 2. I beat CS1 on PS3 so I hope my clear data will work with cross-save if I buy CS2 on Vita.
Also considering the others dungeon crawlers like Moe Chronicle and Sword city but I heard they are not as good as DT2.

New mystery is alright and Fates!Nohr's gameplay is pretty good (just pirate the JP version with the fan-translation).
Also, Gaiden was more like an experiment and not really representative of the series, you can try it but it's a really weird game with weird mechanics. It's kind of like what Zelda 2 is to the zelda series.
The rest of your list is spot-on though.

This looks pretty fun

>>>/tumblr/

It runs like shit when there's heavy activity.

Conception II, its decent so far, like a discount P4G

Valkyrie Drive and the Hyperdimension games

Nothing at the moment cuz I'm overseas and don't want to bother with spending $90 for a new physical copy

wololo.net/2016/07/18/play-monster-hunter-frontier-g-vita/

Alternately stack barbed wire. I've gotten well over 300 before and literally just walked around grabbing goodies. It stacks size and damage and goes well off the screen. Also ignores the final boss's invincibility phase because of how it deals damage.

As a side note, how are the SA:O games on Vita? I know there are two but which is the good one and what's it like?

285 Barbed Wire should be enough to completely cover every map. It's cheap as fug. Take command and get a Captain's Broach in the first level. Every white chest should be Life Savings up until you have a stack of 30. Green chest pull Infusion until you have a stack of 39, this will be suitable for our purposes. Red chest pull Rapid Mitosis until you have a stack of 15. Leave orange chests alone until you have filled the screen with Captain chests. Then open an orange grab a key, pop it, and switch back to Captain. Depending on your luck with Red chests it can take one to three hours to max Mitosis at 1.33% cooldown on your use. That means Captain is usable every .985185185 seconds.

If you complete any of these objectives the following should be worked on.

8 stacks of Time Keeper's Secret for ten seconds of frozen time when your HP is critical.
22 stacks of Bustling Fungus. When combined with 8 Time Keeper's Secret you become immortal to anything other than 1HKO. Which shouldn't be a problem with
1 Dio's Best Friend on the off chance someone can hit you hard enough to hurt you before your HP goes critical.

Congrats you have now become Death, Shatterer of Worlds. Nothing can hurt you really, everything dies. Avoid getting On Kill weapons and shit like Spark/Ice shields as they can crash shit. Keep looping back through the worlds picking up every artifact you can, rescuing survivers, collecting logs, and whatever else you need for Trophies.

thanks for the suggestions and advice guys!

neat. If I had another Vita i'd probably do that. But having to reformat and shit just to switch PSN accounts just to play one game isn't worth it.

Here's a thing written about Hollow Fragment a while back. It doesn't cover everything in the game, but there's a lot of content in HF. Lost Song is much shorter, but also lacks a lot of the sweet stuff in HF. BUT LS looks pretty, you can fly around, ALO is Norse-themed which is cool imo, and you can have two partners instead of just one.

all that to say, Hollow Fragment is definitely the better game.

Is it just me, or is quick reply broken?

No problem. With Tales, it really depends on what all you have access to for starting out. Eternia (also known as Destiny II in the US apparently due to copyright issues with Mattel at the time; also strikes me that maybe Namco might have been thinking of additional name recognition in renaming it Tales of Destiny II here, which of course didn't work, as both it and Destiny sold like shit) is hard to find copies of and the most expensive game in the series at this point in time ($90-120 where I live) and doesn't have a PSN version, but it can be emulated and has a native PSP port. Symphonia has the Gamecube original in English as well as a PS3 "HD" version based on the prior unlocalized PS2 port; it has additional content and dual audio, but the combat framerate and shadowing is worse than the Gamecube one to my knowledge. Vesperia is only officially available on the 360 in the west while the much enhanced PS3 version remained Japan only; the PS3 one though now has a full fan translation patch for use with CFW PS3s.

While Phantasia has been officially brought west twice, neither the GBA version (a poor quality frankenstein port of elements of the SFC and PS1 versions) nor the money-hungry iOS port (which I'm not even sure is still around) are close to being the best way to go about playing it. Either stick with the PS1 version and your choice of English patch, the patched SFC version if you want to see the series from its roots, or wait for Absolute Zero to finish with the NDX bundle (which admittedly might be a few years.

I should probably consider making a "So you want to play Tales" thing sometime the way I've been doing for some other series, but even with just the main series alone there's so many games at this point it would be pretty long to go into detail on every game. Also the issue that I'd need some user that's played the moon-rune only ones to help with stuff for the entries that aren't in English as of yet.

It's been on and off on various boards for me all morning.

That game was damn fun, even for today, and incredible when it first came out. How's the PC port? Also what are your opinions on Legendia

why?

They aren't nuke, they just haven't been discovered/mapped out

so you are a stage 6?

My only gripe with the title system in Symphonia is that they had costumes tied directly into it, meaning if you wanted to use a costume, you sacrifice stat growth as the drawback (the more recent games have gotten better about giving costumes their own slot in the status menu, provided you even have the option to select your character's equipped title). You want to see some odd stuff with titles, various ones in Abyss have hidden effects that as far as I'm aware, the game itself doesn't mention. Also, the Ex-gem system is fairly similar to how certain Fringing combinations in Eternia would grant certain bonus passive effects the character/party. Both are primitive variants of the Skill system introduced in full some games later with Abyss.

It's not my favorite, but I can't say I dislike it. It's a pretty strange one though, being made by a guest team, and it shows. Really good music though.

Honestly, if there's any main series game that could do with a remake, it's that one. Make the combat more fluid, add the usual multiplayer co-op option the console Tales have become known for, touch up the graphics and animations (I remember Moses walking he had a rash on his ass he was trying not to aggravate), and have the English version have full voicing instead of half of it being unvoiced. And keep the OST the same, but higher quality. No need to remix anything there.

I'm not sure if Namco (or the fans) fixed it (I've never played the Steam version as my computer's a toaster anyhow and I still have my GC copy if I want to go back to it), but to my knowledge it was pretty damn botched at release. I think there was a techraptor/NG article analyzing it. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

techraptor.net/content/tales-of-symphony-latest-pc-disaster
Again, I'm not sure if things have been fixed up since then.

That always confused me. The whole "only half voiced" thing I mean. The game honestly felt like some sort of fusion of main series and gaiden. The first half seemed fully finished and like it was supposed to have extra story or something and CERTAINLY more "realistic" art but everything comes across as a half-assed neo-phantasia style. Then the back half was unvoiced, MC was fists which was a new thing for a main, the musical numbers, fighting the Wonder Chef… actually come to think of it it seems more like a retooled Phantasia update/remake/retool/some-other-shit that got handed off to a B-team to be a gaiden who just decided to add "Souper kewl" designs and let random moments like musical numbers and Orsoren. Then when they had nothing coming soon they just said "make it a main story" and we got… that confusing thing.

Don't get me wrong, the music is good and I loved the battle system. Senel duplexing giant monsters was absolutely fun. But it felt underdeveloped and like it was a mishmash of things that got out to market to meet a quota. Also I like Moses's constipated walk

i was the depressed and addicted one for a while. i even tried quitting. i added Holla Forums to a parental block so that i'd get out of the habit of typing it in to the URL bar.
but i relapsed.

i can (and have) write seven paragraphs on the subject of why i think this site's userbase is shit but i'm too tired right now

On the off chance you don't know Legendia's dev team was "Project Melfes" and had a number of Tekken and SC devs on it to my knowledge, hence it seeming to have more of a "fighting game" vibe in some ways than the games made by Wolf Team/Telenet Japan and Namco Tales Studio.

The thing with it being half voiced only applies to the English release. Heard rumor that the voice actors revolted, thinking that the character quests didn't count as what they're originally been hired to do, and Namco seemed to tell them to fuck off, hence most of the character quests being left silent as far as voicing goes.

But yeah, a weird game. Didn't have the usual artists (instead of Fujishima or Inomata, they brought in the guy from Samurai Champloo), didn't have the usual composer (Shiina usually does remixes of Sakuraba's stuff for the escort titles), and didn't have the same devs either. Honestly, given how few people are really fond of it, it surprises me that it's been left as a mothership title as far as classification goes, rather than relegated to escort like Tempest and Symphonia 2. The only recognition I've generally seen Legendia get in the later games are Chloe related cameos: I think Destiny DC has a Gentleman variant with her hat, and Estelle can get a cameo costume of Chloe's bodysuit in Vesperia PS3, which comes with Chloe's Phantom Blade as an altered arte.

Hollow Fragment on Vita has comically bad translation (unless they improved it since I last played). I can't comment on Lost Song as I've not got around to playing it yet

I know you're right about the gentleman variant. You can. Find her hat in the overworld to trigger that fight, that stuck with me. And I thought the art and combat were fine. It did just come across to me as too… silly. Like you've got Guy in Abyss freaking out over women which is funny at first. Then you find out there's a deviant art tier dark and edgy reason behind it and it totally changes the perception on it. And in some ways the tone of the game. Then you look at Legendia and it's like "Otter people and singing, dancing police!"

you got me excited, i thought i'd have something new to fap to.
they're an ugly cross between ewoks and koalas. don't know what sort of retard designed them.

I honestly don't mind there being some silly shit here and there (depending on the tone of the game/section, anyhow). And if memory serves (admittedly it's been a while), Senel was not amused about the cops.

Take it up with Kazuto Nakazawa, most likely.

Technically it is if you've ever downloaded it before they took the app down, but the servers have long since been taken offline, so it's completely unusable

Also Destiny is slightly cheaper than Destiny 2, as a complete copy will run you 90-100 afaik, while destiny 2 is about 120-130

Another rumor is that namco hometek or whoever was doing the translation thought the character quests were just some side missions and didn't bother to dub them, only to figure out when it was too late that they had just left half of the entire game undubbed.

Yeah, I'm thinking the pricing difference has been due to Eternia holding up better as far as being able to go back to it than Destiny. Either that or it's just that much less available.

Why Namco refuses to put either of them on the PSN I have no idea. Tales sells pretty good these days and I'd bet that the average person that refuses to emulate would happily shell out $6-10 for each of them as digital rereleases, but it's as if they don't think people would want to play the games earlier than Symphonia (and even then it's only the PS3 version that's up there; they don't even have Abyss up).

bump

no

Every fucking time.

a post saying "bump" once every three hours doesn't count as a living thread

So anyone else excited to see what this edition is, or is planning on getting it? Gaijinworks said they would release it this week but so far no word. I just feel like it is going to be such a limited release that I should pick up a copy.

What the hell is that monstrosity?

...

Morning chillens

Anyone up for some ROA tonight?

Thank the gods.

ROA? (New to Vita, still filling out my library)

Moonman's daughter?

Ragnarok Odyssey: ACE

It's not particularly good, but a few of us have it and we are trying to pad out our trophies. Once you hit the 6th stage(which is nearing end game on the original release) the game actually starts getting difficult and somewhat fun. ACE has some post game stuff like the 200 floors of the Tower so that should be more interesting.

I think a lot of people here aren't real interested since it's being brought over by Gaijinworks, looking at how they handled SN5. On one hand, it was nice that they actually did a (limited) physical print of it. On the other hand, Ireland and whoever else was doing the translation/editing really fucked around with the script. Ireland's also claimed that people that want accurate translations are not who Gaijinworks is aiming for as an audience.

It's nice that they're doing presales of the special edition, to ensure that enough copies are made for everyone who wants one. But it's also a Gaijinworks game, which have notoriously "loose" translations. It's the type of game where you'd have to wait until after it came out to find out if they did a decent job with it, so preordering this game is a bad idea.

Well great…I knew none of that before. Thanks for letting me know.
I did get SN5 just because it was a PSP game releasing in 2016. No way that won't be rare sometime down the road.
It just sucks since if this is also a limited release I know I will get it since I'm a sucker for rare stuff like that. If it isn't, I'll have no qualms waiting to see how it is.

nuDoom

Gaijinworks (and their prior incarnation, Working Designs) are a mixed bag. I mean, there's an appreciation to be had for them doing boxed sets with extras for stuff like Lunar PS1, Lunar 2 PS1, and Arc the Lad Trilogy, and even a physical print for SN5 even though the PSP has been effectively past-gen for a while now, but the fact they're prone to doing what amounts to rewrites instead of regular translation really pisses off a good number of anons that would like better (anons here anyhow; I remember some years ago on halfchan I'd occasionally come across people praising WD for "livening up" the scripts for the games they handled, but even then it seemed to be more of a divided reception to full praise or dislike).

Ireland also defends NISA's decision to censor Criminal Girls and says that if Gaijinworks was allowed to bring Idolmaster west (something he apparently wishes Namco would let them do) they'd have to repurpose or outright remove stuff since he considers it "borderline pedophilia" and wouldn't fly in the west if left intact.
nichegamer.com/2015/07/15/gaijinworks-interview-how-victor-ireland-and-crew-are-localizing-the-rarer-games/

yeah, I'll be able to play tonight.

What a cuck

It's too early in my day for my blood to boil over shit like this. Ireland can go shove a broom-stick up his ass. I'm not gonna give any cash to a faggot like that. I never got into Summon Night anyway at least.

Projecting poser, hipster, faggots need to fucking kill themselves and stop shitting up other people's hobbies.
Talk about "cultural appropriation."

Every time I see posts like this, I'm glad people finally pulled their head out of their asses regarding Working Designs. 5-10 years ago, nobody was allowed to say a single bad word against Ireland's horrific, meme filled culturalizations, and idiots would rabidly defend shit like Austin Powers references on the grounds that "We wouldn't even have the game if it weren't for Working Designs, you ungrateful hater! Go shitpost somwhere else!" Now, NISA is rightfully crucified for pulling the same shit. It took a while, but the rest of the world finally caught up to what I was saying over a decade ago.

Well, the good news for you is that Summon Night: SCS 1 and 2, as well as Twin Age, weren't handled by Gaijinworks or Working Designs anyhow, but rather Atlus, so if you want to play those spinoffs, they're free of Ireland's taint. Does strike me as a bit odd that none of the main series has even seen fan-translation, but I suppose that since traditionally none of the main series had even been brought west that may have played a role.

Anyhow, I expect that interview lost Ireland and Gaijinworks more fans than it might have gained them. Also, I highly doubt Namco's all that inclined to bring Idolmaster over much anyhow, be it through their own team or whoring it out to a third party like Gaijinworks. Not when they're unlikely to make nearly as much profit off DLC for it here as they might in Japan, and the few games for it Namco has brought west strike me as more of a cursory "well, we tried" that they can use as an excuse to not bring more over, considering they were asking like $50-60 for mobile versions, or something, if memory serves.

I was seeing anons at halfchan defending them as recently as a few years back, claiming that "JRPG scripts are generally boring anyhow, WD makes them more memorable" and other stuff of that sort. Though again, it seemed more like a divided opinion than everyone just defending WD's stuff.

That really begs the notion that if we didn't get them out here officially we could possibly have had them fan-translated instead, as there's generally more demand for a Japan only game to be translated for the first time than a game with an existing translation to be retranslated (and even then, the official translation seems to have to be especially bad and the fans devoted/autistic enough to spend time on it).

Does strike me as a shame that thus far there's been no effort from fans to retranslate Lunar 1 and 2, though perhaps it's due to said division that it hasn't happened yet (whereas looking at, say, BoF II or AT2, I don't think any fan of either game wants to defend the official translations and are happy to have better options available).

Sadly, I still hear these defenses all the time, for WD as well as for NISA, Atlus USA, Treehouse, 8-4, etc.

Though Ireland is an incredible faggot, I've got mixed feelings about his work.

His version of localization is manly. He knows exactly what he's doing, makes no excuses for it, and goes all the way. There's no sneaky faggot shit like what NISA and other trash companies do, where they try to slip little things in here and there for "flavor" while otherwise having a 'faithful' translation to the script. No, Ireland just goes full-retard and almost rewrites damn near everything boldly and unashamedly.

I think the difference between those two practices is appreciable. I think fans outcry and anger is (and should be) more severe when the script is mostly otherwise correct enough, but occasionally, at a rate often enough to get irritated about, you'll get a single line that is completely memed, or otherwise fucked up via localizer/editor efforts. Especially if the company later takes it a step further and all but demands you eat that rancid shit and like it. For Irelands works, the man simply goes all out doing what he does and lets the cards lay as they fall, whether fans like or hate it. Can you really get up in arms about that, when you know it's going to happen before you even acquire the game?

I'm not sure I like what the man is doing and I sure as shit wouldn't support it, but I can respect it. That said, I'll fucking kill him if he ever gets his hands on Idolmaster.

Vic Ireland also goes above and beyond expectations by delivering personalized insults and condescension right to your door!

They couldn't even put a paper wrapping around it to put the shipping slip on?

What a smug dude. Still, everything he said is right and this particular guy he's responding to is retarded. Who the fuck tries to take off stickers without blowdrying them?

You're not much of a collector to begin with if you're too stupid to realize specially-made packaging is going to be just as collectible as the contents inside.

Don't be silly. Ireland knows exactly what he's doing here.

He clearly designed that box as part of the LE, but he also made it sturdy enough to survive shipping and transportation so he could save on packaging fees by slapping the label right on it without needed an outer shipping box. He was just careful to never specifically advertise the box itself as part of the collectors edition, so he had an out when people complained, like this.

Scummy? Disingenuous? Assholeish? Maybe all of those, but as you can see he's very upfront about it. What a dude.

Also put both of these together for easy reposting.

Doesn't excuse the fact that Tricky Viccy should have at least had a paper wrap on the outside or something for the shipping label, instead of almost completely covering one side of the box with it.

Nigga shipping bags cost 15 cents each or $45 if you buy a bulk of 500. He could have gotten some of those and put the box inside.

You just aren't getting the mindset of the (((business man))). That paper costs money and he never said that box was part of this deal. Saving himself a few dollars by doing this kind of shit should be no harm no foul, you get it? You're still getting exactly what was advertised and what you paid for.

In Irelands mind, he's already doing everyone a favor by bringing the game out already for comparatively little profit.

i cringe so hard every time i see you faggots start a sentence with "nigga".
it's an endearing nickname degenerate street trash use for each other. stop saying it. why are you even saying it to begin with?

Full on joke rewrites are more forgivable if the original is still easily accessible, like on a DVD where you can hear both the original Japanese and the joke dub. Most localized games don't include full options to play with the original script and audio though.

I see Vic hasn't changed a bit

nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga negro nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga

it's like i'm really on gaia online

implying

Honestly, to me, starting a sentence like that just brings to mind that Boondocks episode with Tom getting exorcised.

I kind of agree, if a rewrite is done as a separate thing with the original script translated properly as well, that's one thing (didn't .hack IMOQ have a gag translation or dub in addition to the standard one, or am I remembering wrong?). Or if a fan does a joke rewrite of something with an existing translation for fun (the way some hilarious doujin rewrites exist, like "A Kentucky Barmaid in the Court of King Louis the Thirteenth").

But when a rewrite is ALL that's available in a given language and it's done by a company in lieu of properly translating the game's content AND they want actual money for it, that's another thing, and it's very hard to justify since the customer is effectively not getting the game/manga/anime/whatever the way it was originally intended to be. The way Ireland pretty much states that people that want accurate translations aren't the audience they want for their games in the first place comes off as him acting as if he can right a better story than the original people who made the game did.

it's always been sad and sickening to me that the greatest thing ever animated by the west was the boondocks. and the animation crew is 100% nigger blood.
it should be noted however that the niggers only did season one, they outsourced the rest to koreans.
but still, their season one trumps any other animation project the west has touched.

A strong contender for the dumbest post of today.

name one better. i've looked high and low.

Jumping between, Dwarf Fortress(or at least trying to), Hyper light drifter, Deadbolt, and Evolve stage 2

More maps and gamemodes for Evolve

Money all gone

I'm enjoying myself and shit with all the games im playing atm, but they're all so dark, and dramatic. I want a game where I can play on the side every once and while thats like an over-the-top japenese action game with shitloads of color and personality. Sort of like godhand or Furi, but i have no idea where to look.

Also, we're past bump limit. Might be time for a new thread.

Anything by Richard Williams. Looney Tunes in the past. Maybe even the old Simpsons.

I realize you're just out of the crib and don't know any better, but you should really consider thinking a bit before you begin to type.

hahahahahah. i expected garbage but i didn't expect /the simpsons/ level of garbage.

That you only respond to that is quite telling. You don't actually have any clue about the others, so you cherry pick with the only one you can actually respond with. I was originally tempted to just call you a retard and be done with it, such was the stupidity of your claim, but I put forth earnest effort in responding. My mistake. I won't make it again.

Kill yourself, retard.

i wondered why western animators don't try to make stuff on par with japan or just outsource everything to gooks all the time, save for the boondocks guys.
and i realize now it's because their audience eats shit and thinks shit tastes great.

...

"i love characters that are drawn intentionally ugly for 'stylistic' purposes"
"i prefer rapid cartoony movement over pleasing aesthetics and skill" - you

...

...

Said this repeatedly, but I will say it once more and even next thread

Bandai has gone on record stating they have no plans to release [email protected]/* */ to the west, citing it would give them zero financial gain. The reason being all the revenue they pull from the [email protected]/* */ series is strictly from DLC, of which is easily in the upwards of $600 per game. Licensing issues alone for the music would be a mint, to say nothing about recording possible dub tracks and then negotiating said DLC packets. Bottom line: Bandai knows the audience for that and aren't willing to risk that property in an unknown and, being honest, leaned-hostile market.

Aside of which, the thought of Gaijinworks in charge of that much DLC makes me physically ill. Pray the execs at Bamco don't lose their nerve over their statements.

the fuck? Idolmaster.

Back from work finally. New thread:

Pretty sure outright butchering something isn't better than spiteful alterations.

OK, I absolutely love this shit and have watched it 4 times but you are incredibly underaged if you think it's the best western animation has to offer. Hell there are cartoons out now that are better than this show.

It's only gotten worse in Japan since moeshit took over as well.
