The creator opted to hire tumblrs to do the animation for the end but they asked for too much and you can tell the animators stopped giving a shit a minute into it. Also, the ending didn't tell you shit outside of "And then the good guys created a new PROGRESSIVE universe~!" ignoring the fact that the main antagonist is a guy who can travel at any point in time and space and is actively killing them in various other timelines. Transformers has far superior gameplay to Korra. It has nothing to do with the source material. Transformers gets more fun as the game continues and Korra gets extremely repetitive.

That's mostly because of the shit levels and shit enemy variety. If those two were fixed the game would be pretty good. The 4 elements were handled really well and the moveset is pretty varied, you just never really have to use all of it, but charging your attacks was a lot of fun, especially with the earth attacks.

Remove korra from the game too, make it some other avatar and then you don't have to stick to the awful show and it's asinine characters.

I'm a fan of Avatar the last air bender, and give zero shits about Legend of Korra the show.
The game was fun enough I liked replaying it on extreme, you get pretty overpowered by the time all your bending is at max level so it was fun to just plow through everything. I mean it's only $15 so i wasn't expecting that much.

Transformers is clearly the better game but I find the random loot drops annoying. The game becomes less "I need to get better at the combat" and more "I need to get a higher level weapon because the one I have is doing shit damage on this difficulty"

Transformers just feels like a game they really went all out on because they love Transformers and it would have been so much better if it weren't an activision title(activision wants to make it a trilogy and will most likely do the High Moon route of sacking Platinum after the second game). Alright, I could start from the way beginning but long story short Hasbro got toy molds mostly Takara to make a new franchise like they did with G.I. Joe in the 80's. Cartoon, comic, the whole thing. Takara wanted in on this too, and imported the franchise back to Japan. For the first two seasons of the show things were mostly the same. Then The Movie happened, and problems started cropping up. Japan didn't get the movie until way later, and set the 3rd season 5 years later than the western version. Then instead of the Headmaster related "season 4" The Rebirth, Japan made an entire Headmasters cartoon. I should also note that they didn't know who died in the movie, so Wheeljack is still running around and that causes a lot of problems later. After that, the series started splitting up a lot thematically, although they did share a lot of the toys since Hasbro and Takara were working on it together officially. Around Generation 2 they sort of started to get back to the same general series, although Beast Wars got a gag dub in Japan, two different also less serious animes, and what later became the first Robots In Disguise series before they sort of got on track again with the Unicron Trilogy.

During this time, while the Hasbro version had several different universes from the beginning (the cartoon and comic are very different, not to mention every series after it pretty much taking place in a different universe) the Takara version supposedly took place all in the same timeline. Between Kiss Players (yes, that Kiss Players) and Bianaltech/Alternity (at least it attempted to anyway) they sort of got it in a sort of order, but these days I think they took the Hasbro route of it all being different universes. Even Hasbro had to do something to clean their canon recently, so even if every series takes place in a different universe you still have problems with fans being dumbasses running the asylum.

This seems like an odd one since he's mostly just there to build machines that build machines that build catapults usually, but in the Japanese series, as I mentioned, he's around in later series alive and well AND he's important to the bizarre story of Bianaltech and Alternity. I have no idea why he's in this game over his more "relevant to the history of transforming robots" brother Sunstreaker, the more popular Jazz (dead voice actor might have something to do with it), maybe Prowl or someone? I think it has to do with his G2 self using swords in the comic, being able to sell you Red Alert as DLC, having a living voice actor, or maybe they just really liked his Justice Rocket Backpack Rocket Rocket that he almost never uses.

Korra was a 25 cents game, while Transformers was a 75 cent game. Both were on a budget, but one had more of it and genuine effort put into it. Like, a lot of stuff from TF, like the transforming attacks and manual aiming, could reasonable make it into a new PG game since they were actual improvements and advancements in their gameplay.

Season 3 was actually watchable, and Kuvora from 4 was it's best thing. But I would hesitate to actually call any of it good.

They couldn't do accurate bending because it would honestly just straight up break the whole game, specially water. Though I appreciate that they tried to give each bending their own sets of animations and fighting moves of AtlA instead of the MMA type stuff from Korra.

Just to be a contrarian asshole, I think the good parts were why the show was so fucking disappointing

-Lame final fight you can slowly poke him or just parry his telegraphed for days attacks for the QTE attack which is worth miles more (I did this fight with every item that halved your health on the hardest difficulty and I still won war of nutrition)

-5 characters with their own moves and personal equip able items
-Constant battles fighting various main deceptacons all with their own moves
-Gameplay much more similar to bayonetta so the overall mold for the game is miles better
-Starts off hype as shit with one of the earliest fight you go through including DEVASTATOR
-Tosses previous boss fights at you as casuals enemies like the Ancient insecticons (my most recent memory was the hardest difficulty so they might not have shown up as much as I remember)
-Final boss who mixes all the best moves of all the previous bosses while being hype especially if you have prime dodge his final desperation attack to see possibly the best visual in platinum games (Prime and Megatron is a Fist of the north star Punch off)
-All that sweet bonus content including content not in the main game
-All those sweet weapons
-Transforming is fun
-Actual good last difficulty

There was such a step up in content and value in everything that it's easy to see Transformars is the miles better game and can be called great game and not by licence standards, korra is a average ok quality licenced game from devs who I felt could have done more.

TMNT just kills me inside thinking about, I refunded after beating the first level.

I disagree wholeheartedly. There is such a small amount of moves and it's disappointing that you can't use them in tandem with one another to create combos. Imagine how great it would be if you could combine Earth and Air to throw shards of rock all over the place by utilizing a vortex like some sort of rock matter machine gun, or use Firebending heat up shards of summoned iron via Metalbending and hurl bits of shrapnel at your foe. That shit never happens. Combos are static, meaning they have set beginning and ending animations that don't account for the player's use of other moves outside of the initial combo. What I mean is, you could do a Firebending combo and then try to segue into a Waterbending combo, and technically this is possible, but they're never combined. They're solitary and you may as well be mashing buttons for all the good it does. Once you get Airbending maxed out you don't need anything else ever again.

Sure, some of the animations looked cool and I see where they were going with it but the whole thing was sort of bare bones, hardly any variation at all, and it's pretty disappointing.

Honestly, it's really only Season 2 that is horrible (except that one double episode with Wan). Season 1 had its moments. 3 and 4 are where the meat is at, and it's what is actually decent about the show. It's nothing spectacular, but 3 and 4 is worth watching.

In fact, I think the real problem with it was the lack of local multiplayer. There was no good reason for a game like AR to lack such feature. And hell, they even had Urban Reign as a good example of why that was important! That game was great, but lacked local coop in the story mode.
But I think there is a little more to that. People might flip after I say this but it also bombed for the same reason Stillborn bombed: Art design. Look at those characters, they sure look cool, but they also look wrong to modern standards. Not even Japan liked the game. A bought it in day one, and I had a good time playing with both story modes, but the lack of local multiplayer, and the ==EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEMEEEEEEEEEEEEE== design really hurt the product.
Hell, even I, a person who enjoyed the game, can't remember everyone because some are really bland.
Frankly, many of the characters would fit perfectly in Gears of War. If your design reminds people of GoW, you are doing it wrong.
Truth is, Platinum is weird. They can't deliver really good games, but they deliver good ideas.
