KENSHI GENERAL THREAD

New version is out with the new map on the experimental branch. Have you made your skellington today?

Or are you a fleshy weakling who needs multiple layers of armor and a helmet to feel safe

Is it really necessary to train?

It helps with not getting wrecked by the first thing you encounter.

Also if you spawn in holy nation farms, run before a paladin patrol comes because skellingtons are heresy to them.

Can you dool wheeld katanas?

No you can't dual wield, but going full berzerk with giant weapons is possible.

Also since I'm a skeleton, starving bandits have no interest in me.

Is this the new Wurm?

Nah it's a singleplayer sand box.

So how long has this game been in development?

I remember seeing this years ago and thinking it had potential

Maybe I'll finally get around to trying it

Very long. The dev started from a one man show to hiring a competent team when he got crowdfunded to go pro instead of working on the game during the day and as a security guard at night.

A similar thread made me pirate a previous version, I'd be interested in getting this new map honestly, it was a fun time sinker. I never buy anything early access on principle though. I'm probably going to buy it once it's out to enjoy the whole package.

There's a torrent for the 93.4 experimental.

So is it confirmed vaporware like Overgrowth or Cortex Command?

What's the point then?
Also screenshots look terrible, it's more of a Fallout rip off, rather than wandering samurai simulator.
Why the fuck it is even named kenshi?
I aint even pirating this, I'm sorry.

Nah, updates nearly every 3 days to a week. Active bug quashing and content adding.

Newfags out.

I doubt very much that's the theme of Fallout's GUI at all. I should know having finished all of them except for tactics.

Just because a game has feudal Japanese themes doesn't mean it's japcrap or weebshit.

Make me.

Well I played them all too, and Fallout is the first though that came to me upon seeing those screens. But maybe Wasteland 2 would be closer comparison.

I dunno nigger, I dunno.

Utter shit that should be memory holed. Off with your head.

I haven't played it
But UI is really fucking similar, you can't deny it.

To some extent, yes.

They updated the AI so that you don't get aggro rushed constantly. Now all roaming AI have "agendas" that they try to further one way or another.

Do you even fucking daisho you baka gaijin

I thought the same. Was reluctant to play initially because I hate losing progress due to EA updates, but it's fun as fuck.

You're devolving with every post.

Thank you user.

It's fallouteque in some aspects, but much of the lore has yet to be expounded upon. From my understanding the world has always been a shithole. A large portion of the community stressed to me that it wasn't a nuclear war that rendered the world so shitty.

I always thought it was more reminiscent of Xenoclash than Fallout.

Wakizashi isn't intended for dual wielding, or combat in general.
If bushi had a choice - to use wakizashi in combat or use another katana, he would use another katana.
Companion sword's combat use could be justified only if there were ABSOLUTELY no other choice of weapon.

Actually he can.
Maybe you should not talk shit about things you haven't tried?

Not at all unless your only perception of a GUI are to be the shapes used. They're both squarish, but with wholly different themes. Wasteland's even has a typewriter for heaven's sake. Kenshi's just made out of scrap metal cobbled together to form boxes. By your logic, Kenshi's UI would be a recoloured 7.62 high calibre UI.

Even the katana is intended as a sidearm. Polearms were the weapon of the battlefield. Most of the romanticism of samurais and their katanas came after the samurais were made effectively obsolete for war.

The setting according to deepest lore meaning what I remember of the dev said is that the world Kenshi is set has devolved and isn't Earth. So there's bits and pieces of technology still around but most things have devolved.

So a good comparison would be the world Trigun is set in or a world of humans yet to be reclaimed by the Imperium in W40k

Bandits now have their own strongholds and outposts around the map. This probably means there's finally a use for squads going around the map sieging bandit holds.

If we are talking loot by far the best place for it are the cannibal wastes.
Cannibals are tough but do-able and in their camps you can find high grade heavy armor and ninja blades.

Watch out for DeadCat though There is a high priest cannibal who will wreak your shit with 70/70 attk/def

Also has anyone found fragmentation axes?

I remember that you could import your squadmates and their stats through different version, can you still do it or do I need to start from scratch with filthy dirt peasants ? If that's the case I'll probably go spooky mecha skeleton

You can probably still import, but why wouldn't you want to autistically train up a team of super buff skeletons?

I last played dozens of versions ago. I kind of not want to warp in with a small town worth of goons with nothing to eat

...

>I kind of not want to warp in with a small town worth of goons with nothing to eat
That's a really sensible and thoughtful point user ! It's as if unlike me you're not clinically retarded !
Yeah Skellington it is then.

I played a bit when the north extension of the map was just out, but apparently not quite finished.
Did they add some resources to the north? It's bad enough to settle near cannibals, at least give me some fucking iron.

Hive men are clearly superior, only wish hive soldiers weren't so fucking gimped.
However hive people it turns out have less of a chance to be hit in certain body parts.
So maybe it balances out, just feels like a lack of a helmet, shirt and boots along with lack of skill gain in anything but attack seems to be pretty bad.

Resource distribution is fucked, so many good areas to build that lack absolutely fucking anything.
If you want to settle in the new area the best bet is right next to the swamp mecha city to the left where it changes from the flood plains to the shrieking forest.
Watch out for shrieking bandits though, they are insane.

The shrieking bandits are cool, I got rekked by a pack of cannibals and the shriekers saved me before I could get eaten.

It means you enslave those weak puny humans and make them work all the jobs you hate. Also I thought skellingtons are worth it since they have very little penalties and have 200 hp limbs to compensate for not being able to wear a helmet and shirt.

They seem to ignore you unless you start building in their area.

Skeles are combat gods, however its costly as shit to repair them, robotic kits run out quickly, there is only one type, are at the end of the tech tier to try to create and cost 7000 for a single one.

Also its very very hard to find skeles to hire along with hive soldiers.

Playing skelingtons got a bit easier, since there is a decent amount of repair kits to be scavenged in the new areas. At least 4.

My favourite are still the desert niggers for the dex bonus, though.

Would you make a few squads of dindus with names like dindunuffing, ooga booga bix nood and call your faction Black Lives Matters?

I'm going to start shitting up this thread, screaming shill at the top of my lungs and never stop unless you post a free download link for the latest version of this experimental branch.
I'll give you 3 hours.

Kind of.

Anyone got any tips for building your base?
Complete novice here.
Should I get some hirelings to transport resources from town? Can I just do everything from scratch?

What's the bare minimum you need. Not the BEAR MINIMUM. Just the 'bare minimum'.

YOU HAD ONE JOB.

Please stop asking to be spoonfed.

Make me, faggot.
If you're going to shill for a game, at the very least share a free download link, if you want to advertise on the site, pay for it.

A mine for stone and a stone processor, you can build building materials from that.
If you don't have stone in your area you are fucked.

We had kenshi general threads on Holla Forums whenever there's a substantial update for years now. Please stop acting like a faggot and just google for the latest version then the torrent. Another user already stated the torrent exists.

Make me.

Remember when you could just talk about video games on Holla Forums?
Me neither.
It's on KAT you lazy faggot.

I know, but OP should provide link to download early access games. I have kenshi from the version that released the new map a couple of months ago (the one that runs like shit, can't remember the version), the guy that made the thread back then had the download link on the OP.

See, I can get behind that. You just need to express yourself clearly.
Here, I went all the way to KAT to fetch this magnet link.
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:09BFB572DF92082813CDD82C877332DC48D93E04&dn=kenshi+experimental+0+93+4&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fglotorrents.pw%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.opentrackr.org%3A1337%2Fannounce

Open up wide you fucking faggot

Actually linking to copyrighted material is illegal in some countries.

Jesus wept, you people are paranoid as fuck.

Holy fuck, I didn't think it was possible to be this much of a faggot.

Is anyone playing ver 93.4 right now? Does it crash as often as the 91 versions?

It crashes occasionally, I skipped out on 91 so I dont know how it performs in comparison.

Every time I hear about this game, I mistake it for Overgrowth. They've both been in development forever and neither will ever be finished. This one just isn't furfaggotry.

I don't see the problem with that.

You faggots belong on >>>/cuckchan/

The funny part was the dev actually recommended people either try out the demo or pirate it if they feel interested. He's making his dream game. He isn't indieshit trying to make maximum autism bux with minimum work.

Ur a fagt

If you get your Strength above a certain thresh hold your character becomes ripped as fuck. This is my main character he's the strongest character I have and he's able to take on elite paladins solo. The cannibal nests are well worth raiding they normally have strong gear in one of their huts.

Sometimes I wonder if he's actually still making his dream game or if he's sick of it at this point and just wants to rush it out the door. Still no cybernetic limbs, the editor is way too simple, I'm confused as to why there is an editor at all, the game is less buggy then it was a month ago but it's still too buggy and it's so poorly optimized that I have to sit on low to achieve 30fps, on a pc that crushes the PS4. all this and the game's release isn't too far off, it's already a beta meaning the game is feature complete, but it doesn't have all the features it needs.

The new ui certainly holds less skills than the original alpha. Climbing is gone, martial arts is gone, not sure if handheld ranged weapons will be a thing and a lot of the autism induced proposed skills are gone. I too wonder your point from time to time but it seems like given how good an overhaul he's been giving the game, i reckon he is still making the game of his dreams. autism might just have to come in an expansion pack

I certainly hope not, at worst I hope he just plans strong post release support and really just wants to start making real money off of the game. I still can't reclaim destroyed outposts or takeover towns, there's no real inter factional play and like you said there are fewer skills, and even then a bunch of listed skills aren't even implemented. I think survival should include thirst and sleep but be made completely optional, simultaneously managing a based and it's defenses and a mobile crew is overly tedious and they need to allow you to hire personnel to automate your base, towns need more buildings for sale, and compounds or limited outside space for placing work structure would be nice, settlements and research needs to be completely rebalanced.

I still hope martial arts will make a come back. I have to be able to beat people up with nothing but armored gloves. Please!

I want dodging first so my negro ninjas don't have to completely rely on parrying.

dodging is mainly for passive damage reduction though iirc so you don't need to rely on heavy armor to get through a horde when they hit you for 1 damage and no bleeding.

I think the outline of the current system is that mass fighting puts a defense penalty when someone is outnumbered, causing your elites to fare poorly against zerging, but dodging allows them to hold out against zergling blades enough to remove kebab first before getting in the red.

A Spooky Skeleton arrives in Mongrel, one of the only towns around neutral to skellingtons. Having nothing but fogmen patrolling around the town and less money than needed to buy a good plank to train with, I am now reduced to scavenging metal right outside the town from pre-apo scraps for funds.

2 fog princes later (courtesy of Mongrel guards knocking them out), I have enough money for model number 7 plank of old eyes manufacturing. I had enough of this place after training up to 15 attack so it's time for adventure outside of fog island. Towards holy nation territory, this is the amount of fog men I attracted along the way. Thank goodness for superior athletics.

Why start with one skeleton if you can start with six?

Because we're not suppose to awaken the tomb world until we're strong enough as a pariah.

I brought them to the first unlucky band of hungry bandits I could find before most of them disengaged to hunt bandits instead. Then I ran into a holy nation patrol and ran away lol

How is the management in this game?

Base management? Its ok. Sometimes they fuck up and clog their inventory with shit and stop working. You used to have to feed them all manually, which was a fucking pain, but they made it easier.

His real title is "Grand Wizard" tyvm

dude the ingame editor isnt what your supposed to be using, there's an awesome exterior editor called the forgotten construction set in the game files.

My newmap save has really exhausted the gameplay on the current map, i have several based, my guys are kitted out in masterwork and specialist armor, and i've wiped out all but one of the cannibal villages. All thats left is to go genocide mode on the holy nation, but i kinda dont want to because i have houses in a few of the towns.

This is the game's trello: trello.com/b/tH5cLxBv/kenshi

The big features that are missing right now are the diplomacy system, amputation and robotics to replace limbs, and a bunch of other smaller stuff.

can you rebuild civilisation?

I bought this game right back when it was first put on sale and haven't played it in a good few years now. Good to see it still looks exactly as it did back then. There's been not a whiff of any meaningful development.

Every now and then someone posts a thread about this ghost of a game on Holla Forums and I get a hearty chuckle each time from seeing how it still manages not to have progressed whatsoever.

If there was any money behind this game I'd be convinced these were shill threads, but as it is I can only assume these threads are either the dev desperately trying to breathe some life back into the game or someone who just discovered the game by stumbling across some ancient forum posts talking about how amazing it was going to be.

you kind of have to be retarded not to look at screenshots and immediately notice the completely new world map, ui, armor and character models. A few more seconds of observation should clue you in to at least a few of the other new features like stealth, thievery, slavery, assassination, hunger, imprisonment, bounties, dynamic camps/nests, the now 7 races and subraces, new buildings with system for multiple floors, rooftop and wall turrets, fucktons of wildlife, pack animals, dogs, holy shit get it together bro.

i don't even particularly like the direction it's going in i bought it back when it first "launched" too but it's either stupid or disingenuous to say that nothing has changed. it looks and plays a lot differently than it did in the beginning

It's summer. We get newfags that think Holla Forums is about hating every indie game out there by pretending everything is either shovelware or vapourware.

After breaking into a couple of chest at a friendly town, I found a much better plank and some recipes to loot as well as a robot repair kit. Runs from mongrel to other cities might just turn out to be very profitable afterall

i made a mod in like 5 minutes that lets you spawn with a hundred meatbags, currently attemtping to train and equip them en masse to try and overrun the holy nation but its such a clusterfuck i dont know how far im going to take it

There's a mod out there that lets you have tons of squads. Maybe try merging your mod with that

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=705119823

Wasn't this in a humble bundle a long time ago? I could have sworn I got this for a dollar at one point.

Maybe. Thought that's how I got it, ended up being from some Gamersgate bundle.

you stupid faggots actually bought it didn't you.

sage

Gifted it because I actually have friends. Who understands I react well to autistic games.

stop shilling wasteland 2
it's shit

The map extension was kind of a bust for me.
Wake me when faction wars are in.

Because of how much a lazy shit op is, I shall post the magnet link

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:09BFB572DF92082813CDD82C877332DC48D93E04&dn=kenshi+experimental+0+93+4&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fglotorrents.pw%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.opentrackr.org%3A1337%2Fann

no point, i've already changed the squad limits in my mod. that 256 cap mod literally takes 10 seconds tops to make, the its just a global settings value you edit in the editor.

thanks friend, i too was a lazy shit hoping someone as handsome as you would spoonfeed

See you faggots. Holy shit, it used to be paying gamers were the lazy and incompetent ones. These days pirates can't even read anymore?

Literally can't win ever. You both want to feel elitist AND keep the convenience of having information just given to you.
Why should the OP have a mandatory magnet link in the OP when that shit takes 15 seconds tops to get on your own? Why should he spoonfeed lazy faggots that probably even need instructions to "install the crack"?

To prove he ain't a marketer? Oh, glad we have that sorted out so that any marketer can just post a link to a torrent for the game (probably the one with malware even) and nobody can call him a marketer anymore. Because you know mister jew would never lie to you.

Fucking faggots, can't be arsed to look for shit on their own and are fucking naive like that…

Actually, that is a good point. I'll actually use that information next time.

the entire point of this shitty website is there are always autists here who will go to extremes to disagree on every aspect of everything, complaining about "literally can't win ever" means you should be somewhere more like reddit where dissent gets downvoted so there's always a single opinion to confirm with.

Thanks for missing the point twice.
If the entire point is that "people will disagree", then I'll disagree with that.
And if you think I should leave to another website because I disagree, something that apparently is the common theme, I think you're the one that should leave.

The point is that nothing really matters on this site, the only people who should leave are shills of shitty early access games, marketers, newfags, weekend leddit warriors and you

If the only proof you need that someone isn't a shill is a magnet link, you're fucking gullible.
And if you can't find that shit on your own, perhaps invest on a console instead?

...

...

...

I wasn't aware there was one, I've been using the Forgotten construction set and it's shit, I wanted to change robots to repair using money then change money into something else, but you can't, the editing tools are too limited to allow this, you can't even edit the fucking map at this point, but I can understand if and only if the map editing tools are locked off to keep players in bounds.

I wanted to build a Bo Staff and the relevant skills and some animations to go with it but I couldn't get the .mesh format to load into blender properly, I wanted to get some serious fucking modding going on but the tools the devs have provided are honestly too shit. I think the devs are locked inside the box at this point and the game is predestined to land in the shit pile no matter how much I love a lot of the decisions that have been made.

There's a whole load of improvements I want to make to the game but with the modding tools in such a state I just fucking can't

Short answer: modding tools take time to make

Long answer: For now i dont think the dev actually has time to churn out a coherent modding kit. But on the plus side, he has already shown the current engine to be very moddable for new animations and functions (think the stealth system as well as the long necked animal thingie). Skills should also be moddable as well since skills are still being added and there's already a naginata mod on nexus so it might help if you ask that mod's author on model importing and the likes.

or you could ask at lofi forums. If you make a mod that has all the autistic skills of the alpha i will play your mod for sure user

You can edit the map but you need to do more than just use the editor, you need to edit the map files directly. They;re saved as heightmaps and you need to use the same tools the devs did, but a few people on the modding forums were testing it out and it does work.

...

Hiring mercs at Mongrel is surprisingly profitable.

i always bring along a squad of mercs whenever im going somewhere dangerous, they're great to have as escorts. Nice and disposable.

...

So how well does the game actually do the things it's supposed to do? I get the idea of a fully dynamic world but I wonder how well it's actually implemented

Has it become an actual game rather than a bunch of tech demo features sloppily thrown together in a blender yet?

It depends on how you define "actual game". The same way some people think 7.62 high caliber (even with hard life mod) is a broken piece of slavshit while I think it represents what potential modern gaming has, but isn't achieving at all. For me Kenshi is already a neat fun game and the addition of more features like dismembering and cybernetics later will only serve to make me happier.

I might just have lower expectations than expected of the average Holla Forumsirgin.

It's dead. It's not going anywhere and what was once a promising idea has long slipped beyond the horizon as the dev struggles to make even the smallest of improvements to the game over the space of years.

There must have been an influx of newfags recently because these threads usually only garner ten replies at most before they disappear off the board.

Try not to put word in people's mouth next time faggot. I've been watching this one from a long time ago and decided not to get it until it was finished but I got gifted it because turns out I've mentioned my interest in it to my friends and I've found myself enjoying said gift for years after.

Most of the complaints I've seen people on Holla Forums complain about this game turns out to be mostly:

Others have already point out the new systems already in the game. You're somehow complaining that it doesn't play differently from the pre-alpha because the dev had the mind to make sure the gameplay was the first priority?

7.62 is actually a coherent creation, though. Kenshi is just a bunch of random shit thrown into a blender. Like what the fuck is there to do? I start the game and am instantly bored. There's no goals, because there's no fucking content or any form of progression whatsoever.

Well colour me surprised. Let go of the handholding and suddenly user wants to be cucked.

Please tell me how this means a Todd Howard special like Skyrim fits exactly what you want right? There's a goal from the get go despite not making any sense, there's content everywhere despite it just being a bunch of repeated handholding "do this, then that" and you have nice big numbers to tell you how you're progressing along.

Seriously. Holla Forums has been asking for games with more freedom and when one comes along anons just bash the game for not making it easy for them to get into or worse, for not holding their hand through a tutorial.

Saying that means you have never seen it in its original state. It was so broken it would corrupt your game files, your rounds would constantly go missing for no reason, your gun would shoot nothing occasionally when the game bugs and sometimes explosions happen without fragmentation. It was fixed up by the devs and the modders so much over the years that the final product now on steam resembled nothing of when it was still called E6. 7.62 was quite literally a game with parts thrown in around a very awesome physics engine.

Are you the dev by any chance? Or are you just this dumb? There's literally zero polish to Kenshi. It is painfully obvious that the dev has no fucking clue what he actually wants to do with the game, so he keeps adding shit in different directions before moving on to the next idea before fleshing anything out.

It's like having a hundred puddles rather than a lake.

No just an user who's very tired of people not actually knowing what they are talking about

Original alpha was in Orge engine and it was literally orge before it began. Dev could had given up there and take home the dough people were giving him but he just ported the whole thing into another engine before even putting it on greenlight after other cunts begged him to at least make some money with the alpha to feed himself.

Game couldn't work with higher spawn settings on x32, dev say no biggie, ports the whole thing to x64 while moping up bugs that came with it.

People complained the map was too barren, dev while going solo says "okay, let's see what I can do about it", finds a team and makes a new map, new biomes, adds animals in a game that previously had only humans, added more features like domesticating animals.

Dev keeps features on hold until he's sure other features aren't broken or hindering new function before throwing it all in.

Dev actually kept new features from going in for a whole full year to make sure nothing was broken on x64 and spends even more time fixing the pathfinding of the already expansive map. Do I need to keep on going you dumb cunt?

What the dev wants he listed since day 1. It was a huge project that the dev himself estimated would take him upwards of a decade to complete. He's actually taken out the more obsessive features since a lot of people pointed out they could be merged or were made redundant by other skills. He wants to make a sandbox (multi) squad-based RPG with hints of base building and RTS elements and that's what he's making. It's stated since day 1 and the direction hasn't changed. He hasn't turned the game into an action RPG or a puzzle for one.

You mean he adds shit he already has planned? What's this next idea you're talking about? The dev didn't just go "I know, I'll just port the whole damn game into another engine and create a new map and make more assets starting today". He did it because the original engine was impossible for x64 and in turn the original engine didn't fit his scope of how he wanted the game to turn out. He's been adding stuff in in a coherent pace, given how he smooths out the underlying system before he adds more shit in and all I keep seeing is people going ham with claims of how the dev's supposed to be throwing paint on a wall.

That's how a massive AAA title like Skyrim played for me. It had no depth. It was just a whole bundle of side quests and repetitive shit bundled on a shit RPG system presented on an even more shit combat system.

Games like 7.62, Kenshi, the whole broken lot. They take effort to play but at least they're fun on the long run because your character or gameplay actually grows in the game (less so in 7.62 since it's your gear that grows and you get access to more fun shit).

See the difference between 7.62 and Marauder (another game in the same engine and gameplay style) and if you're any bit honest, you'll eat your words regarding your comment of a hundred puddles and a lake.

Also, broken does not mean it's not coherent. I would rather have a broken game than an incoherent mess like Kenshi.

You best start making sense there. What's coherent about a game that doesn't want you to play it? Because the game has guns that go pew pew and it's about killing people so that makes it understandable for you? Seriously, what is this coherence that you speak of? The game's progression towards a goal?

Wow cool, too bad that does literally nothing for making the game good.

There it is again. He just loves adding new features even if they have no place in the game. "Feature creep" is a term that comes to mind here.

Yes, please do go on worshipping this dev and explaining why I should suck his cock and just be content with this shitty game because he's SUCH A GOOD GUY.

And yet he has failed to make even a single aspect of any of that be interesting or in-depth. It is a boring as fuck "squad-based RPG", it's a boring as fuck "base builder", and it's a boring as fuck "RTS".

Literally everything he adds.

Is English your first language? Because it really doesn't sound like it if you can't manage even this basic reading comprehension. What the fuck does "coherent" have to do with bugs in any way shape or form? A coherent game is something that actually has a well thought-out design and does what it sets out to do. Kenshi is horribly planned out and doesn't do anything it sets out to do. Kenshi feels like the type of game your generic ideas-guy retard would shit out if he actually put effort in.

Seriously, half the shit you say is just ignoring what I'm saying and going right back to sucking this dev's cock. I'm genuinely starting to believe you are the dev trying to defend yourself here.

Game set out to do what it should be doing according to the dev. Why are you so fixed on calling the game bad if it fits someone else's criteria but not your for some reasons unknown in the gameplay?

Does the word feature trigger you? It's already been said again and again the feature adding is slow at best as the dev is already fixing up things before adding new stuff in, not as he goes. Not only that, how has the features added bloat the game? Or how has it over-complicate the game? It is pretty much still running on the same simple system it did.

Oh now we're in with the dick sucking. I've given you examples of the dev actually working on the game to make it better as a sandbox squadbased game with RPG and base building aspect and you're saying you couldn't accept that the dev's working according to his vision because he's not making your type of game. That's what being a dumb cunt is.

Explain in depth, explain interesting. Does he need a gimmick for every feature he adds in? Does he need to have skill points for you to add? Does he needs to turn this into Baldur's Gate for the squad based RPG part? Sup Com for the base builder and RTS? Boring as fuck is what you've been saying yet you still can't tell what's so boring about it except yell it's borked over and over again. What's a more fun alternative in this dead barren genre?

So you're saying him adding features according to what he already has planned is a bad thing? Why? Please do tell why is him adding things that were supposed in the finished product a bad thing? Does this mean you're saying he should be ending the development already? What sort of polish are you actually asking for?

There you go. By your logic, the dev set out to make a game that has less player input than the average game on the market, has a basic RPG system for growth and has base building for the dynamic world and has a slight RTS system for when you need to control more dudes and he does.

What's the part that's horridly planned about it? The lack of a "press this to win button?" You've been placing a statement for a few post now without anything substantiating your claims. In terms of your accusation, Kenshi actually plays like a game made by a programmer who didn't have a creative idea guy throwing his weight around so you got that one ass backwards.

No, half the shit you're saying is ignoring what other people say and sticking to your basic stance without anything substantial behind it and then telling them they're bad because they don't think the dev is completely incompetent. Believe what you want, but I'm just an user having quite the grand time with the game and remembers how a broken, incoherent game actually looks like Boiling point/White gold, that incredibly fucking fun slavshit.

Why don't you go jack each other off angrily somewhere else.

No, that'll still be more fun than Kenshi for the other user and utter unacceptable.

lol

How is the speed of the updates relevant? A train wreck in slow motion is still a train wreck.

Exactly. It's still shallow as fuck with zero depth. He has not added anything that could be considered depth. Literally everything in the game is just surface-level bullshit.

And I've given you examples of the dev completely failing to do just that.

None, because this is not "genre". It is just a mishmash of shit that does not work together.

Because it's planned poorly.

"It's like X mixed with Y but also Z! It totally works, guys!"

Before that could even be in the game, there would have to be "winning" to start with. Or at least something to progress towards. Which there isn't. There's not even any incentive to make money because what the fuck is there to buy?

Yeah no.

you're the only saying this shit tbh fam

You're right, it would be more fun. Are you cute?

I've been mistaken for a girl more than once. You?

I don't think I've been mistaken for a girl, but I don't think I'm too bad.

A timeless story.

I think the problem is that the game makes it difficult to get the fun you're looking for. The assumption made was that dynamic systems interacting with each other would naturally lead to interesting gameplay, but without good mechanics to interact with said systems the fun can't be realized

I'll reserve judgement until another major faction is in. Currently it feels sorta like alpha Mount & Blade if there was only one nation and bandits.

Just fucking exchange emails already, fuck.

Get a room.

Kinda. The problem with dynamic systems is that you can only have fun with them based on the number of systems and interactions you know.
The game might actually be very complex but if you don't know that something exists, it's gonna be really shallow.

The game is kinda neat for the settlement building. I love setting up a few farms, automating 3 people to harvest and keep them watered as well as make bread and cook as much as possible.
Bread is fucking amazing. It doesn't feed by much but you can do a shitload of it that keeps you fed forever. It weights almost nothing but it's still very valuable. I keep grabbing a ton of loafs and trade them in nearby towns for everything else I may need.

Although, the task system is garbage. You can't just give them a specific task to farm stuff, you gotta point to every single plot of farm you have.
This is even worse for hauling where you gotta specify every single container in a different order.
And mining takes a truckload of time to get anything done, but I suppose that's intentional.

I've currently made a neat small town near a lake in Holy Order land. I export bread to their local settlements and buy stuff from them, currently looking to invest in a bull to carry my shit when I'm trading. Already managed to hire 2 people to join me and help build my stuff.

There was even a small misunderstanding with a nearby settlement, a Holy Mine where those freaks keep some prisoners and force them to mine shit for them. One of my guys went into a house that apparently was private. He was seized, captured and enslaved. At night, he kept picking the locks for his cage and restraints and got an insane amount of skill at that. The first attempt, he was captured back, but the second one, before I went outside I released a few more prisoners too. They acted like excelent distractions and made my escape really easy.
What's best was that one of them even followed my guy back to my settlement and after a while even joined me. That was kinda neat.

I wish I could capture and enslave people too.
Or that there was a morale system in the game. Currently everyone has the psychology of a rock.

This reminds me of when I used to pretend to be a girl on online games.
Good times indeed, now they're everywhere spreading cancer and even the most beta faggot thinks twice before orbiting them, but 2012 was a golden age for me and my fellow legit voice changer users

it's shit dev's first pet game, don't buy.

You have never played the original, the new map is a godsend because its not just raised terrain which fucked with the pathfinding.
Not only that it uses less resources, meaning it works better and runs better.

See above not true at all.

How is this bad?

Because mass combat is still to easy, play old Captain and fight 5-10 bandits.

This and unarmed I heard was scrapped which is a legitimate complaint and does piss me off.
Nothing was really changed except some basic simplification to work with new races it will probably be fixed.
Which makes sense because you have a giant fucking desert, and cannibals and starving bandits.

YAY KENSHI

You do know the game is bundled with a "no Hunger" mod, right? You're complaining about something you can easily turn off.

Don't forget the fog island fix mod as well because the autistic dev tried too hard to make fog island foggy

You can put trader backpacks in large backpacks and that reduces the encumberance of the loaded trader backpack by 50%. You can use your regular inventory space to unload your backpacks one by one. Enjoy carrying literal thousands of bread in one trip as one large backpack can probably fit at least 4 trader backpack

Started a self sufficient outpost on the edge of fog island for my skeleton (since I don't need food) to further research on metal working and equipment smithing. I'm going to export them to the rebels later on for massive amounts of dosh and materials. Currently still looking for engineering plans so that I can get some sweet plate armor made.

Fuck going back to mongrel for a while. It was almost impossible to get out of fog island without mercs even after gaining 30k from killing fog princes.

A guy with a backpack of food feeds the entire squad. What's so broken about that?
