Which never made sense. I can run into groups of 3 Jack Frosts, but I can't have more than one in my party? What sense does that make? I guess it makes a little sense for the MC in P3/4, as the Personae are supposed to represent his mentality, but for the SMT series proper and the earlier two games I never understood it.

I also forgot the protag was indeed using his persona and fighting a demon just a minute before in the casino, so pardon my stupidity. I guess all these years of P4 and its bullshit got to my head and blinded me.

Having assessed the intro better now, I think it raises one important question. This seems to be the only time in P5 so far that we see shadows/demons/personas appear in the living world rather than the Palace/dream world. So, is this invasion limited to the casino building or will it span beyond? It'd be great to fight some demons in the streets.

This is all theory right now, but the "Palace" they go in to steal the hearts of adults they want to change seems to start leaking in to the real world towards the end of the story.

Well, we know that the DSP exists in the Persona timeline including "SMT if…" and Persona 2. So whether or not Steven's around to provide it, it could still be found. And while I haven't personally played "SMT if…" yet, I've read that the game made some reference to the old SMT Hero.
You know, it pisses me off that MegaTen lore is so poorly archived, especially in English. I can already tell it's some of the most interesting and perhaps best lore in gaming, but it gets nowhere near the exposure or recognition it needs and deserves.

People said with the change in VA they're also changing the character. That sounded silly to me, but holy shit, Igor is going hardcore this time around. In the first two Persona games, he was almost out of the way. In 3 and 4, he still sort of is, but definitely takes a more active role in the story. He's always been kind of just there, helping the protagonists when needed and being vague and prophetic.

He's putting the Protag in a Velvet Prison and forcing him through Rehabilitation with S&M lolis. Sure, he's still helping, but he's getting a lot more involved at least in the Protag's personal development. And he is going full out on the Prison theme, chaining him up and even putting him in the appropriate garb.

Last note, he says, "Welcome to my Velvet Room." Not THE Velvet Room, not THIS Velvet Room, but MY Velvet Room. That's a very possessive tone he has never taken before. I wonder what's changed about him.

Yes, they get famous, they get notoriety for being thieves, but considering the nature of the Palace, and what it is they steal, the general populace nor the media should be able to be as on the nose to give them the name "Phantom Thieves of HEARTS".

Yeah, this is one of those rare times in the series when the main characters' doings actually have some public recognition/influence. That's why the Masked Circle sprang to my mind. (That plus the masks, of course.)

It was removed to make the characters feel more like individuals under your command rather than your slaves. Other than Mitsuru, it worked fine for me.

Yeah I meant of the "modern" iterations. P1 and 2 and full control and everyone had Personas you could change. It was a pretty different battle system.
