They do in some places.

Did you take that picture yourself?

Yeah I know it's shitty and goes on it's side, but I had to share it on Holla Forums.

That's fucking great. Go buy a bag of candy and stake the place out. Take pics.

Fuck, what happened to Pedobear? You'd think considering he was a meme related to lolicon and pedophillia, normalfags wouldn't steal him all those years back.

I blame Unteralterbach for making him mainstream.

it's underwhelming as fuck, user, it used to be a great fucking arcade, but it closed shop and reopened as Dave and Buster's-lite but i guess i could if i go outside today

i took that picture this year, unless you mean something else, dude

The US Naval bootcamp had two arcades, one for good boys who did really well and got to visit for a little bit and one for rejects who got kicked out and had to stay for processing and needed something to do so they didn't kill each other/themselves.

Guess which one I got to play at.

My town used to have two arcades in it at one point. Then one shut down and the other which was half restaurant ripped out the arcade for some shitty kids thing and when that flopped they got rid of everything and then the restaurant died.
Its kind of sad cause that place had some pretty great games.

It's because he's a funny maymay bear.

didn't he evolve into spudo in a way?

What?

...

I'm not sure if this counts, but there were arcade machines at a local minor league baseball game and all the players were wearing 8-bit shirts that they were gonna auction off to charity afterwards. It was sort of fun trying to pin down what music they would play, I could've sworn I heard some Golden Axe, and I know they played Brinstar Depths at one point.

by the time we left at the end of the 6th inning they were losing 11-2
v i d e o g a m e s

Normalfags haven't even heard of that game.

Don't worry too much, the site is dead.

Thank the Finns.

Yeah, they do, but they seem to have been reduced to two types, at least in my area.

1. Part of amusement parks, or other destinations. Quality varies.

2. As semi-adult establishments, where drinking may be a key point. Quality varies even more than at the top since many places rely heavily on redemption games, having a very small number of actual arcades.

it's a joke

Do you seriously believe that normalfags would play that game?

Also, Pedobear was killed years ago with merchandise and kikebook pages.

this and if they did they'd throw a shitfit about it

these are the things that make me wonder, you guys mean like plushies and shit?

I can vouch for this. The "adult playground" types come in 4 flavors:

Dave and Busters. These guys do not take care of their shit at all

Round 1. These guys get all the faggy nip rhythm games you could ever want. you might luck out with some awesome fighting vidya too. Or you might not. My local Round 1 pulled out its GGXX for fucking BlazBlue.

Nickle Nickle. AKA where good arcade cabs go to die.

and non corporate Barcades. Usually has niche or actually good vidya, but is overrun with fucking hipsters of the worst variety.

fuck what i wouldn't do to get ome late 70's-mid 90's sweaty arcade pussy
have ome bullying pictures in return

also i have a barcade near where i live, been meaning to go, they have the old simpsons arcade game there, and a few pinball machines maybe one day i might just say fuck it and go

My area Super K still has Virtua Fighter, Time Crisis 3 (twin standup), Cruisin World (twin sitdown), Gauntlet Whatever, that beach defense game with the headset, and I think at least one pinball table.

Most of the machines were powered off the last time I checked.

They do to some extent as some of the other anons have detailed.
The actual problem in the US is the end of the ubiquity of arcade machines. Use to be in the 80s and 90s (even the late 90s) is that you would find 2 or 3 machines in the front or side of every department and grocery store or the back room of every service station or even other places like camp grounds or theaters or even stranger places. Now they're all gone and if they've replaced with anything it's video poker or those fucking cheating claw machines.

I don't know if you're talking the chain, but they're pretty decent. The machines aren't always that well maintained, however. The one in brooklyn was pretty good machine maintenance wise, but the one in Jersey City sucks.

i'm not sure if it's a chain but it's call Two-Bit's Barcade, and has a Quarter with a mohawk painted on the window

Normal people completely understand the joke, man. The propagation of a meme ensures that it will never stick to just one site. Pedobear is so popular that even people on Facebook and Imgur completely understand the context behind the meme.

There's a barcade near me called Tilt, and as the name suggests, they have more pinball machines than arcade machines. Still cool though. They kick all the underage out at 9pm, everything operates on 25 cents instead of being jewed up, and they have some decent classics including a legit Asteroids. They also sell food and drinks inspired by 90s pop culture.
Shit-tons of filthy hipsters though.

pls tell me there's a drink called Rodney King

The last arcade place that i knew of, died over half a decade ago.

No but they do make Flamin' Moes

that's fucking amazing

At my local ice rink they have 4 linked datonyas, virtua cop, a Jurassic park shooting cabinet, and a fucking awesome samurai showdown cabinet.

Everyone plays the LAN setup of LoL they have out back, instead.

I think arcades struggled especially hard in Australia as they cost way too many dollaridoos to play.

Holy fuck, that sounds amazing.

You don't think the same thing could happen to Moon Man, do you? He's too racist, right?

Oh two-bits is nice. They have a rainbow sf2 machine, but some of the buttons on P1's side are messed up.

All the arcades I know about have turned into horrible kiddy casinos with those string cutter machines

not anywhere near where I live, there was 2 I know of.

first one was in heron city which is like this giant fucking mall right next to an ikea and it has an O'leary which in turn is filled with all sorts of arcade machines, there is even a room for playing counterstrike LAN and I saw some dude playing WoW in there years ago. there is even a bowling hall.

teh second one I know of was at this camp water park called leksand which was pretty cool but I dont think it exists anymore, last time I was there the arcades were all in unplugged outside the restaurant in a white tent and the staff didn't even know what an arcade was.
I loved that second place, it hurts a bit inside knowing ill never get to go there as an adult and actually play the games.

Sad story time:

do they actually put cough syrup in them?

There's an arcade close to Manchester in the UK, it has about 100 arcade machines as far as I'm aware and the owner is just a dude who loves old vidya. A lot of the machines are pinball however the arcade games span from 80s - current.

I'm probably gonna check it out in the next few weeks, especially since it's free play on all machines and you just have to pay £10 to get in.

That's a good thing. Pinball venues are in a more tenuous position than even arcade machines.

Holy fuck here it fucking is

Oh I'm not complaining, it seems awesome. I'd imagine it's mostly older people going to these things too so very few annoying kids.

dude I love pinball, last time I was at a pinball machine though I was the only one playing, the other 3 there people were just drinking coffee in the corner.

They seem to be getting rarer and rarer to find outside of dedicated places for them. I haven't seen one in years.

If you live in the UK and you're from the North West, there's a relatively new arcade with over 300 machines that's opened in Bury. Adults only on Friday nights

This is the one I'm interested in going to, have you been? If so how is it?

We're going this week on Friday so I can let you know then. A collegaue has been and said you can bring your own food and drink in, it's pretty relaxed on the whole and you pay a tenner to get in then unlimited time on the machines including pinball. So it sounds promising.

Dat webm made me feel all nostalgic. Thanks, user.

why can't we have arcades anymore :(

I use to go camping every summer that was half an hour away from wildwood, NJ. The site had an arcade next to the general store. It had a pool table, a couple pinball machines, and the usual arcade games (racing, fighting, shooters). Last time was 2012 though

Cool, I'm probably going to end up going in the next few weeks since it's pretty close to me. I'm glad about the no kids on fridays too.

>an user from new york
shit..
wanna play vidya sometime? we can swap steams or something

i just hope in all my hopes you're a guy because grills scare me

yeah..

user, if you are from Southern California and still live there, maybe we network and head over to a few arcades that I know about. Look up Family Arcade Amusement Corporation. It is a dream come true. Ironically, your picture is also an arcade at the arcade I frequent.

?!

T-THEY HAVE PUNCHMANIA FIST OF THE NORTH STAR?!

Not that user but yea they do, and I think a ITG machine too. However they have awful maintenance and the machines barely function. An arcade near me also had punchmania before it closed down. It's pretty shitty.

Now Round One, that's a great arcade with new arcade games.

>Local bowling ally also has arcade games, but only two racing ones forgot their names and the Terminator: Salvation arcade cabinet

I have this less than an hour away from me, has a bunch of cool shit like imports and stuff from developers.
gallopingghostarcade.com/

Damn right they do and they maintain it as they should. They have an image to uphold, so machines regularly are maintained. Some replaced, some not but for the Punchmania, it is the original 2nd arcade cabinet in its original language.

Yeah sure, just send me an add

oh haha that doesn't work

steamcommunity.com/id/saargston/

Wrong thread user?

I am a volunteer at a vidya museum and we have cabs over there. The one we are the most proud of is the Konami Fighting mania one
>tfw the Radikal Bikers cab is still broken

Not a chance. Especially with all of this pc bullshit happening right now.

Yeah they do, but they're dying because normal people buy a console and a few games once in a while, and the neckbeards potentially interested in playing arcade games don't leave their houses anymore.

sweet beebee jeebees

Japan, China, Korea is full of arcades. and KTVs They are literally everywhere.

When I was a kid, growing up in the sticks of the Midwest, we had a ton of arcades. 5 tokens for a dollar at once place.. first games I played were astroids, pac-man, donkey kong, later played games like golden axe, street fighter, guantlet, spy hunter. It all died when everyone had a home console and pc, for some reason though in Asia they don't mind paying for a bit of social-gaming entertainment. and ktv blowjobs

I live not too far from the largest arcade in the US, aside from the fightan games most of them are pretty mediocre, which makes me wonder why people so desperately want to go there.

I've got some bad new for ya. Normalfags that I know keep spouting Moonman related shit and they aren't even racist. Nothing is sacred.

Its at least a start

I guess if you count those new barcades popping up as being arcades, but those are usually filled with so many hipsters it's not even worth it to step into one. And in the normalfag ones like Dave and Busters, theres usually not a very good selection of games to play.

I used to own a few arcades.

I had the original arcades of MK 1 and MK2, and 1 arcade that was just a regular arcade where you can switch games (Which mines had Metal slug and Metal slug X)And another arcade that you can switch out the games that had another metal slug game and 1941? But the design of it was specifically for metal slug. One last arcade that had a game like Contra? But I dont think it was Contra but it was specifically deigns for it I remember for that game.

someone should make a bar with good beer and free arcade games as far as the eye can see. i'd spend $30/night

I went to a Jillian's a few week ago because my little sister wanted to go on half-price Wednesdays.

There wasn't a single fighting game anywhere in the building. Not single Virtua Fighter, Tekken, or even any version of Street Fighter or X vs. Capcom. All of the House of the Dead machines had uncalibrated lightguns (movie tie-in lightgun games were, of course, totally fine). Most of the racing machine consoles had missing buttons or extremely loose driving wheels. All versions of Silent Scope were gone.

I weep for our next generation.

But they have Angry Birds the arcade machine so I guess that makes up for all the rest.

m8, that's a bad thing, not a good thing
.

jesus that first picture. i'd be dripping with cum if not for the monkey

My brother's friend owns an arcade and i go there to play for free as long as someone else isn't using the machines nobody ever does

...

Only in Japan

HELP
I love my country so much and I want to be in the military so bad. I've considered the French Foreign Legion just so I could get some experience but I dunno.

shit's gonna be great.
