In terms of story I'd say it isn't all that great. I think both 3 and 4 were better and I still haven't played 1 and 2. 5 is the best in terms of actual gameplay and game content. The game is freaking huge, lots of new stuff and pretty much everything has been improved, albeit only slightly in some areas. What really made me love the game was the variety of things you do and all the new locations as well. At one pointing you're drifting like crazy in a taxy and then you're punching bears to death and then you can relax at the arcades playing a full game of virtua fighter 2. This game is so good.

Yakuza 5 is the only game I ever pre-ordered.

Were the PS2 versions censored? It's hard to say. You can just import the collection or Kiwami if its that important.

PS2 versions were uncensored. Yakuza 1 was dub-only but it's infamous for the fuckstravaganza it turned out to be.

I'd say 5's plot was fine, maybe even good, up until at or near the "twist" of the game. But yeah, it's pretty much the best, as far as those released in the west is concerned, in terms of content, gameplay, and side-stories. It also has the best final confrontation as far as the fight is concerned. Thematically not so much.

He's modeled after and voiced by a japanese actor, I don't know how popular that actor is though. Maybe it would be too expensive to keep him as a character in the series.

I'm not sure about that. I've been playing the second PSP game and I'd like to talk about it but I doubt anyone here played it, which is a shame because the game is actually pretty good. I also heard Yakuza 5 was offered on PS+ so I tought more people would be talking about it but whatever. I really can't wait to get Yakuza 0, hopefully it'll revitalize the series.

The Japanese companies still probably think of PCs as just for work. That or they have to go through licensing hell in case any other companies in the west own the brand.

Best character. I actually played as him the most in 5, even over Kiryu. There is something so divinely satisfying about him, and that full-on hyper armor ability… You ever just walk towards someone with it on and watch Saejima shrug off EVERY hit? IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

If you ask me, I think it worked well enough. I dunno about everyone's opinions on 4, but Saejima was fun when you weren't…you know, being chased by cops every 3 minutes. I like what they did in 5, made me like playing as him way, WAY more.

One problem is that they use real life actors for almost everything and sometimes they don't want to associate with PC since PC = porn in Japan even though all the girls are porn stars its mostly on the guy side though.

Beat both 1 & 2 back on their release and I fuckin loved them, some of the few games I enjoyed so much I played them all night long to finish.

Yakuza 3 and 4 were the only ones I played other than a short part of Black panther

I've only played the second game so I have no idea. In the second game there's a part where you need to catch a cat, all you have to do is walk around until you hear it then you wait a couple seconds and there'll be a prompt to catch the cat, maybe it's the same thing.

You can also look for the japanese wiki page and run it on google translate.

Billiards is pretty easy imo. The only hard minigames for me are the japanese ones like shogi and mahjong, also pachinko slots suck if you dont get the lucky emails.

It's on Wii U first of all, not exactly the most popular console. And I had heard that it was a bad port like a lot of other HD ports but that was just from some random user here so who knows.
