In other words it was the opinion of the APA they should remove it, they didn't prove homosexuality wasn't an illness)

The concept of "gender" as being a mental state of ones status separate from the biological was developed by John Money, a psychologist who essentially sexually molested and abused two twin boys for his research, hoping he could force one of them to identify as a woman. He even forced the one brother to penetrate the younger, to acclimate him to being sexually submissive and used as a woman. John Money published his "research" and our understanding of gender came about.

The best/worst part? John Money's experiment was a failure, ultimately. His subject never consistently identified as a woman and both brothers ended up killing themselves, citing the trauma they experienced at the hands of John Money.

I agree. There is no real reason not to have the colliseums of old. Ancient Rome shows that it can have a civilised and cultured society with it, so it's not true that it'd lead to barbarism. If people today are free to kill themselves, I see no reason why they shouldn't be free to risk their lives in fighting those who make the same choice. For many, it could even be a way out of suicide – when you're broke, about to get thrown in the streets, feel worthless, and want to kill yourself because you see no way out, the prospect of such sports could be very appealing. Broke? There would be enormous money for the participants (since you'd have to pay a lot to make people willing to risk their lives like that). No place to live in? You'd get lodgings or at least money to pay rent. Feel worthless? Get famous and popular as the champion of the arena. All that, or death, which would come anyway if you opted for suicide.

I'd say anybody should be able to enter. Got three untrained, deadbeat junkies that went in for the money? Put them against one trained gladiator to even the odds.

Could be even integrated with the prison system. Convicts could decide that rather than spend time in jail, they would enter the arena and would participate in a set amount of fights (there would be a years in prison -> amount of fights ratio). Most would die as they'd be the garbage of the society and the audience could demand their blood without too many moral qualms, while the rest could become skilled gladiators that would decide to keep the career even after their sentence is over, and thus pursue a legal path in life (why stop being a sports celebrity with enormous income in favour of mugging people?).

The medical community disagrees with you for a reason, and while it may be a reason you disagree with, hospital personnel are not the people who make these decisions.

Transition provably reduces suffering, suicide rates, depression rates, ect. by a more than significant amount. This would not be the first time that a potentially dangerous treatment has been used to reduce extreme suffering –just look at painkillers, or antidepressants and their downsides.

All things considered, transition is relatively low-impact. At any point you can simply stop taking the hormones and your body returns to normal within a year.

As for plastic surgery, I can't say I agree with any sort of plastic surgery, but SRS is far from the most frivolous and disruptive one. People coming in to request voluntary orchiectomies, voluntary bladder neck sphincterectomies, ect… it's really fairly mild in comparison.

If you want to solve the problems in medicine, you have to start from a different angle. I suggest attacking informed consent clinics, where most voluntary treatments begin.

I bet you testosterone would reduce suicide far more, as people on hormone replacement therapy have a far higher rate of suicide than normal people.

It's been tried. Testosterone increases suicide rate, and is harsher on the body to begin with. While it is true that pre-HRT male-to-female transgender people often have lower testosterone levels than average men, it's not usually significantly lower, about 10-25%. For comparison, you usually need to be down 33-50% to make testosterone HRT an option if you're a man.
