Comfy Co-op Games

For the times that you just want to sit down with a mate and play some comfy vidya.
Pic related, unfortunately not couch co-op.

I usually have a hard time simply thinking of good co-op games to play with my friends, but finding something that is co-op and also comfy is a whole new ordeal.
Journey was good for a while, but it is rather short and does get old after a few playthroughs. It is nice to come back to once in a while, though.

Any suggestions?

The way Journey worked, it didn't matter if you were a sperg or not, people would randomly join your game and appear out of thin air.

Then standing close to each other would recharge floating "meter" and you could only communicate via noises.

So it was this very nice instinct based interaction that kept things very simple and worked well because it essentially semplified human being to their most basic components, move around, get close to each other, help each other towards a certain direction.

It was pretty intimate

Barotrauma is alright. Chilling around on a sub with pals, either downloading community made subs or building your own from scratch and see if it survives random missions.
It can get a little hectic at times, but isn't that one of the comfy things about multiplayer games?
Shit's free and for Linux and Windows respectively so if you have some autistic friends there's no need to convince them to spend cash on it.

It was. I enjoyed going into the game blind with no understanding of how the multiplayer worked. I was lucky enough to have the same person for the entire playthrough. A pleasant experience, especially making it to the end with the companion that you've had for the entire journey.

This sounds good, thanks. I'll try it out.

How am I supposed to pirate this?

I remember the ending where there was white snow on the floor and few people knew you can actually draw on it by walking.
>Then we draw a big heart surrounding the two small ones by doing half of it each , and meeting in the middle, like we were kissing
A-user, I…

Exploring empty Minecraft servers with a close friend sounds like fun.

Saints Row 3
Viscera Cleanup Sim (but some might find it very aggravating instead)
Path of Exile
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (if both players are good)
Diablo 2
Portal 2
Can't really think of much else.
The truth is that I am always looking for good co-op games to play with m my girlfriend, possibly story based and fully playable In co-op.

Forgot to mention Monaco, which is also on sale right now on Steam and allows very easy matchmaking with strangers if you don't have someone to play with.

Enter the Gungeon, Risk of Rain, Castle Crashers, Sanicball (v0.7.1 for local co-op, v0.6.2 for online co-op, though they may have released a version supporting both, I'm not sure)
I agree, Portal 2 is quite comfy, especially playing the custom maps.
Played Viscera Cleanup Sim by myself, waste of time. Perhaps it will be better co-op.
Haven't played Path of Exile, will give it a shot.

yes

Also Hammerwatch

I should also note you can grab Hammerwatch in a 4 pack for less in 10 dollars on steam right now. So you and friends can all play together. It has map builder and mods as well.

If you don't feel like shilling out the shekels you can also pirate the game and play ON MOTHERFUCKING LAN

Shit is rare these days.

I haven't

You can play something similar to LAN, but online with Evolve.

Modern Warfare 3's co-op mode, shooting wave after wave. Works if you both are good. Resing eachother, covering points, just working together.

Phones should be built with fold out frames for the ears, and fold over lenses. Clipping into place enabling 3D. Split Video out cable into two sections, one for each set of glasses. 2D to 3D conversion program also detecting the split screen and switching automatically to the top or left one for the left, and opposite for the right. scaling the image to screen size, converting it to 3D and applying TAA. In the wait between frames. For games not built for that.

Via a PC program, or by a console feature, wireless for now.

Have an app running in the background so all on screen is resized, detecting text areas and raising resizing quality on those areas, converting all to 3D.

A big fuck you to screen manufacturers for degrading all life by raising resolutions.

People playing using phones as hmds. Also with enough of them as virtual consoles.

Multiplayer games for real people, not students etc are best single player arena games with a time limit. FPS because char customisation is time wasting stuff best suited to solo.

No drama, no movies, no wait. Just play.

If one dies both dies can work by enemies being more agressive if one player is left.

A lot of guns with specialisation.

Standard loadout:
Heavy MG, fast reload drum. Tracer. Points out targets and holds them back. Very controlled recoil.

Assault rifle, EOtech with the cover, all round gun. Secondary fire

MW's mode could be improved by taking an average of how far you get and splitting it with the start area. So all the time getting better and starting at a harder position.

Could also work for a singlelplayer campeign with no story.
Start solo. If with a friend them starting far away. Both going through an assessive tutorial automatically getting harder to match skill level so can't go forward easilly. Run out of equipment, have to run around and through buildings, get used to enemy weapons, use them enough to prefer them. Are moved closer the better you're performing. Not equalised, if one of you is better the worse one gets the best supply, playing deceptively badly to receive it is fine too, I was only pretenting etc. Fool CPU kick arse together. Get good enough it has to assign more processing time to generating land, using simpler but more powerful enemies. And vice versa. Hook up with a jet, the best shooter is the gunner by default, can tag team change positions. Face enemy air force, 1 assaults resuppy craft the other refuels and keeps away fighters, stick the nose in the back and get back on, raid airfields for fuel or change jets.

IE: singlehandedly save the world from the evil empire together.

Live like Osama and organise things during breaks.

A lot of health, but injuries have permenant effects. Lose your legs you better learn how to crawl. Can get picked up. Make use of changes. Legs becomes backpack and controls drone when nkt covering. Gets good at being pilot for when reaching it, defaults as pilot. Driver, uses rifle to move pedals, or rigs pedal to the metal. Brakes slow enough to roll out. Assaulter smash the windscreen, jump on better cars, get them out of the way.

Hover around skyscraper at night. Neon blue and red engines and weapons, air support coverfires with extreme tollerance. Swats swat teams.

Bust through safe rooms. Deauthorise missile launches, invasion preperation etc. Put star trek in place of the news. Music video bullitains. Radio's robot dj selects music at random and talks in beeps about pussy breifly in between them.

EMP has jet in deep shit, eject. Building blown collapsing. Run and jump onto opened parachute, fall, hold, reserve jolts. Pilot aims at nothing tracer everywhere, fire up city power generator, faster done the longer the power will last, police pit stop, first place they'd look. Take back the equipment they don't deserve. Give the rest to prisoners. Desk chair and an extention lead for Frodo, run through firing. Guns turn to the dissapearing cover, Bilbo baggings rolls along taking turns with loaded shotguns, driving against the wall and firing through the barrier anyway, a receptionist sexually clutching her windows xp pc. Gets thrown out of the way. Pull cord. Dildo apologises to girl as ties cord to window frame. Banjo & Kazooie make a break for a sniping position, oddly enough there's a sniper rifle prepared. Throw sniper out of window and shoot on way down. Prisoners die less, pick off their tormetors. Spot the Dog pulls the barrel close enough and feeds rifle. Helicopter meant to prevent escape just facilitstes it. Built to land soft enough it does so, bar a few scratches and holes.

Opposition can be traced backwards to who gave them orders or paid them. The more the opposition the better. A cat is fine too.

...

Dungeon of the Endless. If you can ignore the retroshit pixels, it's a FANTASTIC coop-friendly semi-turnbased dungeon crawler. I had great time with 1-2 frienda in it.

EYE: Divine Cybermancy

go fuck yourselves

I've played the shit out of EYE. I love that game.

I've also played the shit out of this, I'm surprised I forgot to mention it.
I really should have made a list of all that I'd played.
