Toronto International Film Festival, if it was Toronto Independent film that was likely a long while ago. IIRC there might have been some internal battles if the hearsay is true. There were factions in TIFF that wanted it to be more independent film and less mainstream, and there are factions that wanted TIFF to increase it's size and power among festivals, to draw more studios and celebretards. Its understandable, when i saw namefag veterans from 4chon /new/ get banned last year for minor infractions, it struck me that 8/pol/ is a playpen for the BO and his volunteers.
Around the top right (if it's your fork and you're logged in) there's a button named "Edit". Click it and copy-paste the new version into the box (making sure you aren't accidentally deleting stuff from the bottom or something). Click "Commit Changes" and your fork is now edited.
At the top of your repository click "Merge Requests". Then the New Merge Request button. Source Branch should be yours and Target Branch should be gamergate/gamergateop. When I click it it tells me something about no new branches (I think because I haven't edited my fork) so I can't give a walkthrough further but here's some instructions:

As many as is necessary, it will vary depending on how fast the site moves, and how frequently threads are expected to be created and/or bumped. As long as it can maintain active, meaningful discussion. What's the difference between one longer thread, or multiple shorter threads on the same subject? If a thread can last a week under current rules (without any "pointless" bumps to keep it alive - I'm talking real contributions to a thread), why is there a problem? The only threads that stay alive are inevitably going to be topics that users want to discuss.

4chan is basically a hamster wheel where people keep making the same threads and reposting the same content over and over again.
A week seems like a good shelf life for a thread to me but on slower niche boards ancient threads can stay near the top like they do on reddit.

There are bump limits for a reason, of course. So a thread inevitably does fall off the board, and requires real renewed interest in order for a new thread to be created. That way you don't get monsters like that people are inevitably posting in just because it's the cool thing to do. Not because they have anything to add. Sure, somebody could make the same thread about Ian McDiarmid again, but would it have the same draw it does now? So it's nice that threats like that do expire. But does it really matter? There's always a webm thread on this board. Assuming there were no performance issues: If it were an endless (or cyclical) thread, would it really make much of a difference compared to if a fresh one were posted as soon as the old expired?
Really, the main reason to break threads up is to refresh discussion, and to make the information easier to digest. Well, that, and to refresh IDs. People will speak more freely on a topic if they know it won't be brought up again six months from now.
