The weather is crazy hot this year because we came out of an El Nino with the Pacific water temps being higher than usual. They've gone closer to normal now, but the effects that huge body of water has on everything just from raising a degree or two is massive and affects the entire planet for 6 months or more.

Climate change takes years. It doesn't explain a single hot summer. No one understands the difference between climate and weather.

It does change on its own. But that doesn't mean human interaction isn't changing it alongside natural changes. I always thought it was absurd to think that it's one or the other. Just because there's variability doesn't mean there isn't a relationship between the extent of that variation and the long-term trend. There's a reason why 15 of the 16 hottest years on record have been since 2000. Yes, there are other factors making this year particularly hot, and probably next year won't be as bad. Because that's how regression to the mean works even when the mean is increasing. But it's part of the overall trend where "unusually hot" becomes hotter and more common.

Change over millions of years is not the same as a change happening over decades or centuries, there's different forcings involved. 500 million years ago solar output was 4% lower but CO2 was much higher.

Like the sun emitting more/less over millions of years, or CO2 being absorbed by volcanic rock weathering while a drop in actual volcanic activity led to less CO2 being released. There have been cases where climate changed quickly like it is now, but those had actual reasons too. Like the PETM 55 million years ago, likely from the release of methane hydrates:

Today we know the solar output hasn't significantly increased from a century ago. We know there wasn't a massive release of methane hydrates (though warming might trigger one in the future). The most significant forcing we know that has actually changed is CO2.

So if someone wants to claim it's not because of CO2 they have two tasks: first to explain why the CO2 isn't doing what physics says it should, and second to explain what the mysterious other source of the warming is. You can't just say "it changed in the past" because those changes had actual causes like solar output and we know the sun didn't suddenly get significantly brighter.

Basically natural climate changes from millions of years ago had actual causes and typically took a very long time, so you can't just say "it changed in the past, so the same thing must be happening now".

For example over the long term climate changes can be caused by changes in the sun's output or cycles in the earth's orbit, but humanity is monitoring those things and we know they can't be the cause. I'll try to explain the things I mentioned more understandably if you're interested:

There's no custom firmware, games have to be dumped in a specific way, and you need to use the browser so it can run the online exploit. But for most of us average leeches? If you're on current firmware:

1) Get Loadiine GX2
2) Update it to the latest version
3) Follow the instructions on how your SD card should look like
4) Download your game that's loadiine ready
5) Put it on the SD card in the games folder.
6) Put it in the Wii U
7) Using the browser, go to one of the many sites that'll run the exploit.
8) Play your damn game after it finishes loading.

There is no hassle, no way to fuck it up, nothing to install, no anything.

Wakfu is super frustrating, I see all those non-frogs adore it, and apparently it's this great show, fun, lewd, well-written, but as a french-speaking cock, I understand the dialogue and it's… cringe. On purpose, it's for kids so everything sounds rather childish, and the voice acting follows that mindset, and it's just way, way too painful to listen to when you're not a kid.

Congratulations: you've discovered the Shawshank Effect. It's the main reason why most people say subs are better than dubs. Mostly because when you don't speak the native language and you read the subtitles your brain has to fill in things and typically you assume "oh they must be saying this in a really deep way, listen to that tone of voice they must really mean it." When confronted with a dub (or something in your own language) ridiculously and immaturity are much harder to ignore.

This is why a lot of sub watchers will often say things like "the dub lacks soul" or "it sounds like they have no emotion." Truth be told, most native speakers aren't all that much better a lot of the time. It's just, because you don't know the language, it's harder to spot that.

Wakfu does indeed have a fair bit of kiddiness. It is a children's show, hard as it is for certainly Americans to grasp that. However, it's got some cool concepts later on, genuinely likable characters and some real heart to it. I'd say it's a little less quality and can often be a bit more immature (in some respects) than the original TLA, but to me they're fairy close.

Yet I know a bit of Japanese and I know French too, I think French dubbing sucks (I watched Wakfu too) while the Japanese dubbing is perfect for me (not in every case, I hate some actors).

I totally agree, and it's fair to say, but I'm frustrated when the childishness is a bit too heavy-handed. A film like Ernest et Célestine is made for children, but it is a tremendous masterpiece, and both the VA and the writing don't go too deep in the "it's for kiiids" territory, being done masterfully and brilliantly (Daniel Pennac is France's best contemporary writer, hands down).
Thing is, since I've been able to speak english, I haven't really noticed issues with dubs much. I used to adore Daria, and I realized amusingly that the french one is even better than the original in many ways, and that includes writing, some of the jokes and one-liners sounding much sharper. And I'm learning japanese, and more and more realizing some of the depth of some lines and acting.
I dunno. Wakfu, I think, can be a great show, but one that tried at first just to be a kid's one, and then later on got confident it had something better to deliver. Really it's the voice acting I have a hard time getting over…

There's plenty of content to keep you busy for a month or so, plus a new season what they call expansions is getting ready to release, it'll feature other time periods. There is a fleet system, where you can start your own fleet, customize a fleet badge and uniform, and then build your own starbase and mines and stuff. There are also fleet versions of all the premium ships that you can purchase with fleet credits, which you earn by donating to fleet projects, like building parts of the starbase.

We should be planning this stuff now and getting the wheels going. August is the start of back to school time, things will pick up going into the holidays.
