Shit, I wish I still had it, but there was this article about how the Israeli army has developed doctrine specifically for dealing with chaotic urban environments, involving blasting through walls, "seeing past the urban space," or something like that, basically adapting their tactics to take advantage of a three-dimensional orientation. It was really fascinating and a little scary.

The Israelis go out of their way to make themselves look dangerous and supremely competent, they arent, competence comes from experience fighting an actual enemy and the IDF does not actually have very much of that(Mossad sure has a lot of experience doing all kinds of dirty shit but thats another story)

Hezbollah mostly nailed them along the border in 2006, using way too many missiles, a series of well-hidden bunkers, and a whole bunch of hills to turn overhyped Merkavas into scrap.

Now Hezbollah in the 1980s was really inventive, as it got its start fighting in the Beqaa valley and Beirut. They basically pioneered the modern truck bomb and used it in an urban environment to send Reagan running. Say what you will about their ideology, but their tactics were pretty good.
