In case you aren't sure what the general fund is, it is basically what pays for fire, police, roads, essentially public services that YOU pay for and expect your tax money to fund. But now, 40% of what you pay will be diverted into pension payments which either means you have to cut public services and enjoy living in a shithole or tax the ever living shit out of your state citizens. The state of Pennsylvania has NO savings and states cannot print money so the only thing left to do is tax or cut. But at the rate boomers retire and the crazy amount of payments that pensioners get, the system will either crash or people will be moving out of the state. However, if you go and read the article you have retarded parents taking out 25, 50, or even 100k in debt and have NO job or any other source of income to pay those debts. So what in turn happens? I had 50% GI bill so ended up with 21,000 in debt for my PTA license. This is after self paying for my bachelors at USF. Three years later it's paid off from me working 6-7 days a week and paying it off in full.
Sucks because I want to go back to school for my master's to make even more money but will need to get back into 60-70,000 in debt to do so. Will make 75-100,000 a year though so I think as someone who lives below his means it is a good trade.
