I just went through Steam's new releases queue for the last 3 months and it was all shit.
Reviewers are just absolutely useless these days, they're all memes, bullshit sophistry and the occasional AAA title that I have no interest in.
I just want to play a recent game that's fun. Preferably not multiplayer so I don't have to deal with buyer's remorse once I realize the community is trash.
Is there no list of recent PC releases that omits indieshit shovelware and only has games that a sane person might conceivably want to play?
Asking Holla Forums or using your own judgement are your only choices.

And by way of contributing, this is the one remotely interesting title I found.
It's basically FPS Recettear. It's not as good visually or gameplay wise. There's no dungeons (although apparently sometimes you get raided).
It has a "theft" mechanic where people will sometimes try to steal shit and run out. Supposedly the chance is higher if you overprice items, but they always try even if you sell at a loss. You can then switch to combat mode and kill them to get the item back. Unfortunately killing them scares other customers (they leave without buying) and lowers your shop appeal. The last bit is annoying because why would anyone think "wow that shopkeeper kills thieves instead of just letting them run off with the goods I'm not gonna shop there"?
Shop appeal also takes a long time to get back up so it's quite annoying, at least until you grind up the skill points for corpse grinding and auto thief zapper.
The interface is a bit clunky. When stocking items you have to scroll through the whole list with your mouse wheel, which gets old quick when you have dozens of items in your inventory. The markup system is also annoying. From what I can tell you need to stock store items with a very low markup to maximize turnover (money isn't a big deal after early-game, but XP is hard to get), but you can also walk up to people on the street and forcibly sell items to them. Since the latter has no drawbacks, you want the maximum markup possible, so you're constantly switching back and forth between low markup and high… By holding the +/- keys to go from 110% to 150%, 1% at a time.
Anyway, if you haven't played Recettear, go play that instead. If you have, it's decently entertaining, though nothing to write home about.
That's what I'm asking. I need a place I can go to where 99% of the games I see won't result in my judgement saying "this games is a boring piece of crap" 1 minute into their own trailer.

I made a thread called "wheres the pvp" cause there was none that was good and in about a month im probably gonna be done with my backlog so i dont know what im gonna do after that. Im playing Seiken Densetsu 3 right now and after this im gonna try nudoom when it goes on sale and all thats left For me after is 2 megaman zero games, osman and crystal chronicals. Check torrent sites and sort by seed number. It'll show you what games people are downloading the most. That'll show you any decent new games that may have slipped under your radar, especially for non AAA games. Scroll down/browse a few pages and sometimes you'll find some really good games you'd never hear of normally.

Here's a list, but there's plenty of other torrent sites out there. PB also has a top torrents list, but it's pretty much the same list as this one.
You don't have to pirate the games you see, obviously, but these lists are more informative and honest than pretty much any reviewer, and much more thorough. Most of the shit on the front page will be mainstream trash, but there's usually at least a few good games on there. Browsing further down will show you a lot of good games that you've probably never heard of.
