GOG isn't that bad, they just need more big name titles. But they don't do DRM or anything of the sort and once you download the game, you don't need an internet connection to monitor you either.

I've only bought a few things from them and nothing from Steam, but the community at Steam sounds like a bunch of faggots with TONS of shitty games not to mention the rules and restrictions.

The rules aren't that bad, in my experience, except for item trading in TF2, which requires you to have their phone app to get approved to trade, or get an email to approve it and wait 2 weeks for the item to be added and unlocked from your inventory. Basically, if you don't have a phone, you can't trade in TF2. It's also annoying as shit whenever I just want to trade a stupid Christmas hat and have to whip out my slow-ass phone, open the Steam app, pray it doesn't crash, and type in the code so it will approve the trade.

In all seriousness i can't explain it but Adam Sandler seems to have a pretty dedicated fanbase, and apart from his last shitty western-themed movie somehow they all seem to do well.

I can't imagine tha's a big enough draw to offset attrition from their trash-tier licensing deals and generally shitty original content, though since most other services aren't really any better and they have a large installed base (smart TVs, tablets all have a nflx app) they might be the defacto choice.

critics may not like him, and intellectuals may not like him, but studios LOVE him. his films make a shitload of money no matter what and effectively become 90 minute advertisements that people pay to watch. the payment from coca cola, sony, dunkin' donuts, etc. alone more than pays for the cost of the film, anything else made from viewership is just a bonus. that's why adam sandler is great for a system like netflix because while they don't make the traditional box office money that a film would, they still get all the cash from the product placement regardless of if that many people even watch the film on there. if you want a break down of how it works, redlettermedia did an excellent hour long two part review of jack and jill where they go in depth about how much of a con artist adam sandler really is.

Sandler's formula is pretty genius too. His movies are mostly cheap laughs requiring low viewer investment, but he'll ramp up the emotional poignancy near the end in a usually very relatable way, so the average viewer goes in expecting a dumb comedy, has some dumb laughs as promised, but the whole experience becomes more memorable because of the more serious/bittersweet emotional component at the end, and it gives the impression that the movie is punching above its weight class.

Film fuckers will never be impressed, but a big part of joe sixpack sure will.

At one point one of the characters remarks that if the Nazis and Japs didn't win the war, it'd be Semites that ran things.

It's not deliberate but the most likeable character in the whole show is Obergruppenführer John Smith and at one point when one of the protags moves from the Jap controlled western US to the American Reich she remarks how amazingly nice it all is. Also you could make a pretty strong case about how the jewish craftsman's sub plot is how he becomes a deranged villain terrorist.

I recon Holla Forumsacks should watch it at least for the pleasant aesthetic.

Push yourself through the first few episodes, then this show takes off and goes places you wouldn't expect. I was put off at first but came back to it when a bunch of guys heartily recommended it on DS.

Been on steam since few months after launch (04 or so from memory), when you had email addresses as your username. It was vilified then after they closed WON and rest for better anti cheat/blah blah reasons and launching the platform.
People didn't see it taking off so big but it did.
Steam is like any other shithole, good and bad people but tbh there are a lot of ok people there if you play the right games and avoid the faggotry.
I mostly play SP/offline anyway so don't really care about online but steam is just another content platform these days.
