You are trying to look at it through the Holla Forums lens of "lefties/jews are taking over the world" and not through the lens of an experienced businessman who knows his shit.
How many people care about minority inclusion in a significant manner? SJW and Stormfront types, the rest of the world really doesn't care that much although they may be somewhat inclined to the SJW side. Both are small minorities that wouldn't make a meaningful impact in sales if they decided to pander to them, but SJW have an advantage, and it is that a huge portion of games journalists do care a lot about inclusion and diversity.
You see, developers are not pandering to SJW, but they are pandering to game journalists, who happen to be SJW. This is the reason games are becoming easier, faster and shorter. This is the reason a game usually becomes worse the more you advance or look into it, because they know games journalists won't play for that long. This is the reason they are adding bland stronk womyn characters, and trannies and black people in historically inaccurate contexts. They are not pandering to their fanbase, they are pandering to games journalists to inflate their scores, which often translates into better sales. Normalfags are told "black transsexual woman = good" by games journalists and they eat it up because they are taking things at face value instead of really questioning whether that's a good thing or if it was shoehorned for the sake of pandering; they do not see "this game is inclusive, therefore it's good", they see "this game has a good thing, which makes it a good game".
The suits probably give the developers a checklist of what to do to boost sales, and one of the requirements would probably be making a statement on diversity and making the game more accessible to minorities (which are actually a really big unexploited market that could make some extra millions, if you just take the stats at face value). Some studios interpret this better than others, like adding a token black character or some somewhat stronk woman character (Uncharted), while others take it to the extreme and interpret it in a more SJWy way, which can hurt sales (Bioware's ugly protagonists, ME Cataclysm's "I don't know what women want, but I am going to pander to them anyway").
A little bit of inclusiveness doesn't hurt sales, costs nothing, helps you win brownie points with the gamejourno crowd and only excludes the really small niche of rabid nazies you can see in places like Holla Forums, Holla Forums or Stormfront which don't buy games anyway. It would be dumb not to take profit of this.
When will this stop, you say? Soon. SJWism is a bubble that will burst soon when people realize it's not as hot as they think. Traditional games journalism is also reaching the end of its useful lifetime, so you will start seeing devs pandering to YouTubers, and that often translates into stale memes.
