According to new figures released by the National Center for Assistance and Prevention of Radicalization (CNAPR), there are currently 17,393 people that have been reported to the French anti-terror programme.
If you break down the numbers on the Terrorism Prevention Reporting File, they show:
– 7,400 individuals were reported by the Security Chiefs of Staff
– 5,346 individuals were reported by the public
– 5,799 individuals were registered by police or gendarmerie.
Additionally, 2,046 individuals were formally identified as having fought in Syria or Iraq, and shockingly, 249 individuals that were supposedly deceased were also identified. The list doesn’t necessarily include those being actively monitored by the security services, however, they will remain on the list for showing signs of radicalisation. It won’t surprise anyone to see jihadi hotspots in places that have already been attacked, including Paris, Nice and Lille.
