More like it's a site rip of tvtropes from a couple years ago that almost no one adds to. At best it's archive of the stuff they've deleted. The thing is tvtropes is like wikipedia. It has stuff added to it because so many people use.

Editing tvtropes takes finesse to get what you want. First off, in the main and character pages you can delete anything that's subjective, as that content doesn't belong there. If someone tried to edit war you, take it to the talk page and ask for arbitration. You'll win. It's the YMMV pages where things get murkier, since those are basically just: here are people's opinions. You can't outright delete most things you don't like. However, you can change wording to suit you and you can provide counter points.

Example: Someone got really butthurt that PV4 for Persona 5 had fanservice. So first they added a "squick" entry, which may as well be titled a "triggered" entry. Then they also added a snide comment about how the trailer was good, but that fanservice ruined it under "win back the crowd." I deleted the second outright, because it only ruined the experience for them. Then I changed the wording in their "squick" entry to be subjective (when it was at first written to be objective fact that everyone agreed with). Then I added a "values dissonance" entry under that to talk about how anime has always sexualized highschoolers and anyone who watched anime or has actually played these games before wouldn't be bothered by it.

The thing with tvtropes is knowing which battles to fight. The bigger the series, the harder it is to win. For example, it is haram to call Rey a Mary Sue on the start war page. You can bitch about how she's good at everything and how everyone likes her for no reason (and people have), but you aren't allowed to use that word. The article is just too protected.

Go read Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson. It's a really solid history on the Civil War that goes into the mindset of both sides before and during the war. If you legit thought that the Civil War was just about the Union freeing the slaves from the Confederacy (led by Darth Vader), it will put you on your ass. Definitely worth the read.
