On the interview he did with Geoff for YouTube after the Sony conference he said that the title is about "death things that are stranded" like the animals on the beach, and that when animals that are alive are stranded on the beach it's called "life stranding" and how his game is specifically about dead things that are stranded.

Actual answer: Because he's one of the very few truly auteur game designers out there. With the exception of 5, none of the Metal Gear games have that dull 'designed by committee' feel of modern AAA. He's got a clear fascination with conspiracy theories, a rough understanding of philosophy as it deals with identity and conflict, and is a big fan of classic western media, and manages to string all these totally unrelated elements into games that are (generally) both entertaining and actually enjoyable to play.

None of those names make any sense in retrospect either.

GZ was good because it was small scale so kojima could hone his autism and do his best with it. PT was good because Kojima finally got to dick around with something that wasn't about tacticool man snapping necks. It's clear he wants to start going in a different "creative direction" with all this dark ambiguous shit he seems to like working on.

At the end of the day, it costs you nothing to wait and judge any actual gameplay that comes out.

I'm expecting it will be Metal Gear lite in terms of gameplay. Which is by no means a bad thing, fuck if anything the gameplay in this might be even better than the more recent Metal Gear games now that Kojima doesn't have to make compromises for Konami. It could also be a lot worse than those games, but for now I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

Aside from MGSV, what other "projects" are you thinking of? And you're not taking Konami into account, which was a huge factor in disrupting the game's development. Hell, even despite all of that, MGSV is the game I enjoyed the most in the whole series, aside from boss fights.

Which makes sense since the trailer seems to be about Kojima moving on from the Metal Gear franchise and into a new world.

The man (obviously being a metaphor for Kojima himself) loses a baby (A metaphor for the Metal Gear franchise) and he is left alone and stranded with a C-section scar, merely an indication that it was him that gave the baby (and the franchise) birth into the world. The handcuffs the man had were a reference to his past imprisonment by Konami. And the final shot of the 5 babies obviously represents the 5 Metal Gear Games.

This is basically a trailer about how Kojima is moving on from Konami, it's completely unrelated to the game itself.

And holy shit, I just realized all the dead fish is a reference to how game franchises are dying or dead, each body representing another dead franchise and the baby crawling towards the bodies represents how Metal Gear is another franchise joining the dead.

This means the oil spill is perhaps a metaphor for the game industry and how it's killing itself or money, oil often leading to money. And how money is what is killing the games industry.

Yeah, there was nothing fun about it really. I thought Peacewalker was really boring too so once i realized the game wasn't actually too far off from that I knew I was going to be unhappy. IGN lists a PC release, there was even a (now deleted) Q&A with Sony Europe that said it would come to PC.
