Vid.me has a community guideline specifically against "hate speech" so they are not a good free speech alternative.
This. I was checking out popular video websites, 6 months ago for us to settle on. They all pretty much had hate-speech policy implemented, vid.me included.
Nothing about vid.me is fucking real.
It can become very much real if e-celebs migrate. Cattle will follow.

Quick question: is there any place where I can upload a video and share it with other people, even privately, instead of jewtube? I understand the whole "muh hate speech" applying to videos shared with a broad public, but what about shit I want to share with a selected group?

I've been using vid.me for this. Whatever their policy against "hate speech" is, it seems to be unenforced. Good enough for sharing videos at least in the short term.

I use mixtape.moe, since it has a filesize limit (and because I don't want them to load badly) I encode them, and since I use Windows I use MeGUI for this.
(for clarity - yes I just send them an direct .mp4 link, all browsers load that fine if it has H.264 and AAC)
Vid.me was in previous times an amateur porn site, once they got to scale they decided to purge the porn producers in favor of general content.
Vid.me capitalized on the YouTube heroes fiasco. As othr anons have pointed out there are anti hate speech rules on vid.me meaning they are able and willing to purge users who they find inconvenient.
finally vid.me is not yet monetized meaning there is little incentive for anyone to post there, so its not likely to attract pro youtubers with big followings.
